Little Higgs model with new Z-parity and Dark matter

It has been known that Little Higgs models with T-parity, which can give a dark matter candidate, suffer from the anomalies of given models through the Wess-Zumino-Witten term, which in turn can violate the T-parity. Here we thus introduce a new kind of discrete symmetry called Z-parity, which is a residual gauge symmetry of an additional U(1) symmetry of the extended gauge group of the Little Higgs models. Because Z-parity comes from the gauge symmetry, this discrete symmetry not only remains unbroken under the anomalies but also can give the lightest Z-parity particle, which is stable and becomes a viable dark matter candidate. We also show that there is an allowed parameter space in the global symmetry breaking scale f versus the mass of the dark matter, which satisfies the current relic density of the cold dark matter.

Sommerfeld Enhancement from Unparticle Exchange for Dark Matter Annihilation

We investigate the implication of unparticle exchange for the possible Sommerfeld enhancement in dark matter annihilation process. Assuming the unparticle exchange during WIMP collision, we solve the Schr\rm\ddot{o}dinger equation for the effective potential, and find that the Sommerfeld enhancement factor is dictated by the scale dimension of unparticle as 1/v^{3-2d_{\UP}}. Numerically the Sommerfeld enhancement could be {\cal O}(10-10^{3}).

Invisible Higgs decay with B\to Kν\barν constraint

If the Higgs boson were the only particle within the LHC accessible range, precision measurement of the Higgs's properties would play a unique role in studying electroweak symmetry breaking as well as possible new physics. We try to use low energy experiments such as rare B decay to constrain a challenging decay mode of Higgs, in which a Higgs decays to a pair of light (\approx 1 \sim 2 GeV) SM singlet S and becomes invisible. By using the current experimental bound of rare decay B\to Kν\barν and computing the contribution of B\to K SS to (the) B\to K+\cancel{E}, we obtain an upper bound on the Higgs coupling to such light singlet. It is interesting that the partial width of the invisible decay mode h\to SS by taking the upper bound value of coupling is at a comparable level with h\to WW/ZZ or WW^(*) decay modes, making the Higgs identifiable but with a different predicted decay BR from the standard model Higgs decay. It will then have an impact on precision measurement of the Higgs's properties. We also study the implication for cosmology from such a light singlet and propose a solution to the potential problem.

Studying Exclusive Semi-leptonic $b\to (s,d) ν\barν$ Decays in the MSSM without R-parity

We present a complete study of R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in thirteen exclusive and inclusive semi-leptonic $b \to (s,d) ν\barν$ decays, including $B^+_u\to K^{(*)+}ν\barν$, $B^0_d\to K^{(*)0}ν\barν$, $B^0_s\to ϕν\barν$, $B^0_d\to π^0(ρ^0)ν\barν$, $B^+_u\to π^+(ρ^+)ν\barν$, $B^0_s\to K^{(*)0}ν\barν$ and $B \to X_{s,d} ν\barν$ decay modes, and we find those thirteen modes are very sensitive to the constrained R-parity violating couplings. We derive stringent bounds on relevant R-parity violating couplings, which are based on all existent experimental upper limits of involved semi-leptonic decays. In addition, we also investigate the sensitivities of the branching ratios and di-neutrino invariant mass spectra to the survived R-parity violating coupling spaces. Since the experimental bounds would become much better soon through Super-B, we expect that future experiments will greatly strengthen our bounds.

Doubly Coexisting Dark Matter Candidates in an Extended Seesaw Model

We examine how a scenario of coexisting two-particle dark mater can be realized in the extended seesaw model, which we have proposed previously to accommodate small neutrino masses and low scale leptogenesis with an introduction of singlet Majorana neutrino $S$ and singlet scalar $ϕ$. We now impose the discrete symmetry $Z_2 \times Z_2^{\prime}$ and introduce new renormalizable interaction terms with a new heavy singlet scalar particle $Φ$ so as for previously introduced $S$ and $ϕ$ to be doubly coexisting dark matter candidates. Depending on the mass spectrum of the two dark matter candidates, the annihilation process either $SS\longrightarrow ϕϕ$ or $ϕϕ\longrightarrow SS$ is of particular interest because the annihilation cross sections for the processes can be so large that the relic abundance of decaying particle should get lowered, which in turn makes the constraints on its parameter space relaxed, compared with the case of one and only one dark matter candidate. We discuss the implications of the dark matter detection through the scattering off the nucleus of the detecting material on our scenarios for dark matter candidates. We also study the implications for the search of invisible Higgs decay at LHC, which may serve as a probe of our scenario for dark matter.

Studying Double Charm Decays of B_{u,d} and B_{s} Mesons in the MSSM with R-parity Violation

Motivated by the possible large direct CP asymmetry of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^+ D^- decay measured by Belle collaboration, we investigate double charm B_{u,d} and B_s decays in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with R-parity violation. We derive the bounds on relevant R-parity violating couplings from the current experimental data, which show quite consistent measurements among relative collaborations. Using the constrained parameter spaces, we explore R-parity violating effects on other observables in these decays, which have not been measured or have not been well measured yet. We find that the R-parity violating effects on the mixing-induced CP asymmetries of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^{(*)+} D^{(*)-} and \bar{B}^0_s \to D^{(*)+}_s D^{(*)-}_s decays could be very large, nevertheless the R-parity violating effects on the direct CP asymmetries could not be large enough to explain the large direct CP violation of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^{+} D^{-} from Belle. Our results could be used to probe R-parity violating effects and will correlate with searches for direct R-parity violating signals in future experiments.

Extracting the CKM phase angle γ(\equiv ϕ_3) from isospin analysis in B\to K πdecays

We propose a new method to extract the CKM phase angle γ(\equiv ϕ_3) from the isospin analysis in B \to K πdecays. Unlike previously proposed methods, we do not employ flavor SU(3) symmetry, so that this method is free from the hadronic uncertainty coming from the SU(3) breaking effect. Neither we adopt any Dalitz-plot analysis, which may involve multiple strong phases and large final state interactions. After including small CP violating terms in B^+ \to K^0 π^+ and color-suppressed electroweak penguin contribution in B^0 \to K^+ π^-, whose values are estimated from the QCD factorization, we obtain γ= ({70}^{+5 +1 +2}_{-14 -1 -3})^\circ \textrm{or} {106^\circ}< γ< {180^\circ}. The first error is due to the experimental errors mainly caused by mixing-induced CP asymmetry S_{{K_s} π^0}. The second and third errors come from the theoretical uncertainty for two above-mentioned small contributions, respectively. Since we utilize only the isospin relations in B \to K πdecays, this method will work well, regardless of possible new physics effects unless the isospin relations do not hold.

Investigation of $B_{u,d}\to (π, K) π$ decays within unparticle physics

We investigate the implication of unparticle physics on the B_{u,d}\to (π, K) πdecays under the constraints of the B_{d,s}-\bar B_{d,s} mixing. We found that not only the unparticle parameters that belong to the flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes but also scaling dimension d_{\UP} could be constrained by the B_{d,s}-\bar B_{d,s} mixing phenomenology. Employing the minimum χ^2 analysis to the B_{u,d}\to (π, K) πdecays with the constraints of B_{d,s} mixing, we find that the puzzle of large branching ratio for B_{d}\to π^0 π^0 and the discrepancy between the standard model estimation and data for the direct CP asymmetry of B^+ \to K^+ π^0 and B_d \to π^+π^- can be resolved well. However, the mixing induced CP asymmetry of B_d\to K_S π^0 could not be well accommodated by the unparticle contributions.

Bridges of Low Energy observables with Leptogenesis in mu-tau Reflection Symmetry

We consider an exact mu-tau reflection symmetry in neutrino sectorrealized at the GUT scale in the context of the seesaw model with and without supersymmetry. Assuming the two lighter heavy Majorana neutrinos are degenerate at the GUT scale, it is shown that the renormalization group (RG) evolution from the GUT scale to the seesaw scale gives rise to breaking of the mu-tau symmetry and a tiny splitting between two degenerate heavy Majorana neutrino masses as well as small variations of the CP phases in Y_nu, which are essential to achieve a successful leptogenesis. Such small RG effects lead to tiny deviations of theta_{23} from the maximal value and the CP phase delta_{CP} from pi/2 imposed at the GUT scale due to mu-tau reflection symmetry. In our scenario, the required amount of the baryon asymmetry eta_B can be generated via so-called resonant e-leptogenesis, in which the wash-out factor concerned with electron flavor plays a crucial role in reproducing a successful leptogenesis. We show that CP violation responsible for the generation of baryon asymmetry of our universe can be directly linked with CP violation measurable through neutrino oscillation as well as neutrino mixing angles theta_{12} and theta_{13}. We expect that, in addition to the reactor and long baseline neutrino experiments, the measurements for the supersymmetric parameter tan{beta} at future collider experiments would serve as an indirect test of our scenario of baryogenesis based on the mu-tau reflection symmetry.

Analytic Resolution of Puzzle in $B\to K π$ decays

We present a systematic method to extract each standard model (SM)-{\it like} hadronic parameter as well as new physics parameters in analytic way for $B\to Kπ$ decays. Using the analytic method to the currently available experimental data, we find two possible solutions analytically equivalent: one showing the large SM-{\it like} color-suppressed tree contribution and the other showing the large SM-{\it like} EWP contribution. The magnitude of the NP amplitude and its weak phase are quite large. For instance, we find $|P^{NP}/P| = 0.39\pm0.13$, $ϕ^{NP}=91^\circ\pm15^\circ$ and $δ^{NP}=8^\circ\pm27^\circ$, which are the ratio of the NP-to-SM contribution, the weak and the relative strong phase of the NP amplitude, respectively.

$μ-τ$ Reflection Symmetry in in Lepton Mixing and Radiatively Generated Leptogenesis

We study a $μ- τ$ reflection symmetry in neutrino sector realized at the GUT scale in the context of the seesaw model. In our scenario, the exact $μ- τ$ reflection symmetry realized in the basis where the charged lepton and heavy Majorana mass matrices are diagonal, leads to vanishing lepton asymmetries. We find that, in the minimal supersymmetry extension of the seesaw model with appropriate values of $\tanβ$, the renormalization group (RG) evolution from the GUT scale to seesaw scale can induce a successful leptogenesis. It is shown that the right amount of the baryon asymmetries $η_B$ can be achieved via so-called resonant leptogenesis, which can be realized at rather low seesaw scale in our scenario, so that the well-known gravitino problem is safely avoided. In this work, we consider both flavor dependent and flavor independent leptogenesis, and demonstrate how they lead to different amounts of baryon asymmetries in detail.

Low Scale Leptogenesis and Dark Matter Candidates in an Extended Seesaw Model

We consider a variant of seesaw mechanism by introducing extra singlet neutrinos and singlet scalar boson, and show how low scale leptogenesis is successfully realized in this scenario. We examine if the newly introduced neutral particles, either singlet Majorana neutrino or singlet scalar boson, can be a candidate for dark matter. We also discuss the implications of the dark matter detection through the scattering off the nucleus of the detecting material on our scenarios for dark matter. In addition, we study the implications for the search of invisible Higgs decay at LHC, which may serve as a probe of our scenario for dark matter.

Test of the Littlest Higgs model through the correlation among W boson, top quark and Higgs masses

Motivated by the recent precision measurements of the W boson mass and top quark mass, we test the Littlest Higgs model by confronting the prediction of M_W with the current and prospective measurements of M_W and M_t as well as through the correlation among M_W, M_t and Higgs mass. We argue that the current values and accuracy of M_W and M_t measurements tend to favor the Littlest Higgs model over the standard model, although the most recent electroweak data may appear to be consistent with the standard model prediction. In this analysis, the upper bound on the global SU(5) symmetry breaking scale turned out to be 26.3 TeV. We also discuss how the masses of the heavy gauge boson M_B in the Littlest Higgs model can be predicted from the constraints on the model parameters.

B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 mixing and B -> πK decays in stringy leptophobic Z^\prime

We consider a leptophobic Z^\prime scenario in a flipped SU(5) grand unified theory obtained from heterotic string theory. We show that the allowed Z^\prime mass, flavor conserving and flavor changing couplings of the Z^\prime to the down-type quarks are strongly constrained by the mass difference in B_s-\bar{B}_s system and the four branching ratios of B -> πK decays. It is shown that even under these constraints large deviations in direct and/or indirect CP asymmetries of B \to πK decays from the SM expectations are allowed. Especially it is possible to accommodate the apparent puzzling data in B -> πK CP asymmetries.

Tree FCNC and non-unitarity of CKM matrix

We discuss possible signatures of the tree level FCNC, which results from the non-unitarity of CKM matrix. We first define the unitaity step-by-step, and possible test of the non-unitaity through the 4-value-KM parametrization. We, then, show how the phase angle of the unitary triangle would change in case of the vector-like down quark model. As another example of tree FCNC, we investigate the leptophobic $Z'$ model and its application to the recent $B_s$ mixing measurements.

Study of the exclusive $b \to u \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays in the MSSM with and without R-parity violation

We study the exclusive $b \to u \ell^- \barν_{\ell} (\ell=τ,μ,e)$ decays in the MSSM with and without R-parity violation. From the experimental measurements of branching ratios $\mathcal{B}(B^-_u \to τ^- \barν_τ)$, $\mathcal{B}(B^-_u \to M'^0 \ell'^- \barν_{\ell'})$ and $\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^0_d \to M'^+ \ell'^- \barν_{\ell'})$ $(\ell'=μ,e, M'=π,ρ)$, we derive new upper bounds on the relevant new physics parameters within the decays. Using the constrained new physics parameter spaces, we predict the charged Higgs effects and the R-parity violating effects on the branching ratios, the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of charged leptons, and the ratios of longitudinal to transverse polarization of the vector mesons, which have not been measured or have not been well measured yet. We find that the charged Higgs effects and the R-parity violating effects could be large and measurable in some cases. Our results could be used to probe new physics effects in the leptonic decays as well as the semileptonic decays, and will correlate with searches for direct supersymmetric signals in future experiments.

Custodial bulk Randall-Sundrum model and B->K* l+ l'-

The custodial Randall-Sundrum model based on SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R X U(1)_(B-L) generates new flavor-changing-neutral-current (FCNC) phenomena at tree level, mediated by Kaluza-Klein neutral gauge bosons. Based on two natural assumptions of universal 5D Yukawa couplings and no-cancellation in explaining the observed standard model fermion mixing matrices, we determine the bulk Dirac mass parameters. Phenomenological constraints from lepton-flavor-violations are also used to specify the model. From the comprehensive study of B->K* l+ l'-, we found that only the B->K*ee decay has sizable new physics effects. The zero value position of the forward-backward asymmetry in this model is also evaluated, with about 5% deviation from the SM result. Other effective observables are also suggested such as the ratio of two differential (or partially integrated) decay rates of B->K*ee and B->K*mu mu. For the first KK gauge boson mass of M_A^(1)=2-4 TeV, we can have about 10-20% deviation from the SM results.

Systematic Analysis of B --> K pi l^+ l^- Decay through Angular Decomposition

We investigate systematically how to extract new physics contributions in B --> K pi l^+ l^- decay by using the angular decomposition. The decomposition will enable us to define not only several CP averaged forward-backward (FB) asymmetries but also the direct CP asymmetry and the time-dependent mixing induced CP asymmetry for each FB asymmetry newly defined in the general 4 body angular space. The decay process involves several intermediate vector and scalar resonances as sources of strong phase difference through interference, therefore, one can expect largely enhanced CP asymmetries, if there exists any new physics with weak CP phases. The combined analysis of the FB and CP asymmetries will give us fruitful information about new physics contributions in detail.
