An étude of momentum space scalar amplitudes in AdS

In this paper, we explore momentum space approach to computing scalar amplitudes in Anti-de Sitter space. We show that the algorithm derived by Arkani-Hamed, Benincasa, and Postnikov for cosmological wavefunctions can be straightforwardly adopted for AdS transition amplitudes in momentum space, allowing one to bypass bulk point integrations. We demonstrate the utility of this approach in AdS by presenting several explicit results both at tree and loop level.

New relation for AdS amplitudes

In this paper, we present a simple and iterative algorithm that computes Anti-de Sitter space scattering amplitudes. We focus on the vector correlators in AdS in four dimensions in momentum space. These new combinatorial relations will allow one to generate tree level amplitudes algebraically, without having to do any explicit bulk integrations; hence, leading to a simple method of calculating higher point vector amplitudes.

Conformal Vacuum and Fluctuation-Dissipation in de-Sitter Universe and Black Hole Spacetimes

In the studies of quantum field theory in curved spacetime, the ambiguous concept of vacuum state and the particle content is a long-standing debatable aspect. So far it is well known to us that in the background of the curved spacetime, some privileged class of observers detect particle production in the suitably chosen vacuum states of the quantum matter fields. In this work we aim to study the characteristics behaviour of these produced particles in the background of the de-Sitter (dS) Friedmann-Lamaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) Universe (both for $(1+1)$ and $(3+1)$ dimensions) and $(1+1)$-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole (BH) spacetime, from the point of view of the respective privileged class of observers. Here the analysis is confined to the observers who perceive particle excitations in the conformal vacuum. We consider some test particles in the thermal bath of the produced particles and calculate the correlation function of the fluctuation of the random force as exerted by the produced quanta on the test particles. We obtain that the correlation function abides by the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, which in turn signifies that the test particles execute Brownian-like motion in the thermal bath of the produced quanta.

How robust is the indistinguishability between quantum fluctuation seen from non-inertial frame and real thermal bath

We re-advocated the conjecture of indistinguishability between the quantum fluctuation observed from a Rindler frame and a real thermal bath, for the case of a free massless scalar field. To clarify the robustness and how far such is admissible, in this paper, we investigate the issue from two different non-inertial observers' perspective. A detailed analysis is being done to find the observable quantities as measured by two non-inertial observers (one is Rindler and another is uniformly rotating) on the real thermal bath and Rindler frame in Minkowski spacetime. More precisely, we compare Thermal-Rindler with Rindler-Rindler and Thermal-rotating with Rindler-rotating situations. In the first model it is observed that although some of the observables are equivalent, all the components of renormalised stress-tensor are not the same. In the later model, we again find that this equivalence is not totally guaranteed. Therefore we argue that the indistinguishability between the real thermal bath and the Rindler frame may not be totally true.

The Quantum Steeplechase

Quantum Steeplechase is the study of a Luttinger liquid (LL) in one dimension in the presence of a finite number of barriers and wells clustered around an origin. The powerful non-chiral bosonization technique (NCBT) is introduced to write down closed formulas for the two-point functions in the sense of the random phase approximation (RPA). Unlike g-ology based methods that are tied to the translationally invariant, free particle basis, the NCBT explicitly makes use of the translationally non-invariant single particle wavefunctions. The present method that provides the most singular part of the asymptotically exact Green function in a closed form, is in contrast to competing methods that require a combination of renormalization group and/or numerical methods in addition to the bosonization techniques.

Friedel oscillations and dynamical density of states of an inhomogeneous Luttinger liquid

In this work, the four-point Green functions relevant to the study of Friedel oscillations are calculated for a Luttinger liquid with a cluster of impurities around an origin using the powerful Non chiral bosonization technique (NCBT). The two-point functions obtained using the same method are used to calculate the dynamical density of states (DDOS), which exhibits a power law in energy and closed analytical expressions for the DDOS exponent is calculated. These results interpolates between the weak barrier and weak link cases which are typically studied in the literature. The dependence of the DDOS on the nature of interactions and the strength of the impurity clusters are highlighted. Finally the special case of the Luttinger parameter g=1/2 is studied and compared with existing results.

Unruh-DeWitt detector in presence of multiple scalar fields : A Toy Model

Applications of Unruh-Fulling (UF) effect are well studied in literature via the interaction of Unruh-DeWitt (UD) detector and {\it single} scalar field. In this work, we investigate a toy model, where the detector is interacting {\it simultaneously} with the {\it multiple} scalar fields. Our study reveals that the transition rate of the system significantly depends on the acceleration of the detector and the number of scalar fields ($n$). For $n\gg1$, there exists a {\it critical acceleration}, beyond which the transition rate becomes drastically high than the accelerations below the critical point. The appearance of such critical point never occurs in case of the interaction of UD detector and {\it single} scalar field.

Non-chiral bosonization of strongly inhomogeneous Luttinger liquids

Non-chiral bosonization (NCBT) is a non-trivial modification of the standard Fermi-Bose correspondence in one spatial dimensions made in order to facilitate the study of strongly inhomogeneous Luttinger liquids (LL) where the properties of free fermions plus the source of inhomogeneities are reproduced exactly. The formalism of NCBT is introduced and limiting case checks, fermion commutation rules, point splitting constraints, etc. are discussed. The Green functions obtained from NCBT are expanded in powers of the fermion-fermion interaction strength (forward scattering short-range only) and compared with the corresponding terms obtained using standard fermionic perturbation theory. Lastly, the Green functions obtained from NCBT are inserted into the Schwinger-Dyson equation which is the equation of motion of the Green functions and serves as a non-perturbative confirmation of the method. Some other analytical approaches like functional bosonization and numerical techniques like DMRG, which can be used to obtain the correlation functions in 1D, are briefly discussed.

Spectral Representation of Thermal OTO Correlators

We study the spectral representation of finite temperature, out of time ordered (OTO) correlators on the multi-time-fold generalised Schwinger-Keldysh contour. We write the contour-ordered correlators as a sum over time-order permutations acting on a funda- mental array of Wightman correlators. We decompose this Wightman array in a basis of column vectors, which provide a natural generalisation of the familiar retarded-advanced basis in the finite temperature Schwinger-Keldysh formalism. The coefficients of this de- composition take the form of generalised spectral functions, which are Fourier transforms of nested and double commutators. Our construction extends a variety of classical results on spectral functions in the SK formalism at finite temperature to the OTO case.

Fluctuation-dissipation in accelerated frames

An uniformly accelerated (Rindler) observer will detect particles in the Minkowski vacuum, known as Unruh effect. The spectrum is thermal and the temperature is given by that of the Killing horizon, which is proportional to the acceleration. Considering these particles are kept in a thermal bath with this temperature, we find that the correlation function of the random force due to radiation acting on the particles as measured by the accelerated frame, shows the fluctuation-dissipation relation. It is observed that the correlations, in both ($1+1$) spacetime and ($1+3$) dimensional spacetimes, are of Brownian type. We discuss the implications of this new observation at the end.
