Brownian and fractional Brownian stochastic currents via Malliavin calculus

By using Malliavin calculus and multiple Wiener-Itô integrals, we study the existence and the regularity of stochastic currents defined as Skorohod (divergence) integrals with respect to the Brownian motion and to the fractional Brownian motion. We consider also the multidimensional multiparameter case and we compare the regularity of the current as a distribution in negative Sobolev spaces with its regularity in Watanabe space.

Stochastic Heat Equation with Multiplicative Fractional-Colored Noise

We consider the stochastic heat equation with multiplicative noise $u_t={1/2}Δu+ u \diamond \dot{W}$ in $\bR_{+} \times \bR^d$, where $\diamond$ denotes the Wick product, and the solution is interpreted in the mild sense. The noise $\dot W$ is fractional in time (with Hurst index $H \geq 1/2$), and colored in space (with spatial covariance kernel $f$). We prove that if $f$ is the Riesz kernel of order $α$, or the Bessel kernel of order $α 1/2$), respectively $d<2+α$ (if $H=1/2$), whereas if $f$ is the heat kernel or the Poisson kernel, then the equation has a solution for any $d$. We give a representation of the $k$-th order moment of the solution, in terms of an exponential moment of the "convoluted weighted" intersection local time of $k$ independent $d$-dimensional Brownian motions.

Limits of bifractional Brownian noises

Let $B^{H,K}=(B^{H,K}_{t}, t\geq 0)$ be a bifractional Brownian motion with two parameters $H\in (0,1)$ and $K\in(0,1]$. The main result of this paper is that the increment process generated by the bifractional Brownian motion $(B^{H,K}_{h+t} -B^{H,K}_{h}, t\geq 0)$ converges when $h\to \infty$ to $(2^{(1-K)/{2}}B^{HK}_{t}, t\geq 0)$, where $(B^{HK}_{t}, t\geq 0)$ is the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index $HK$. We also study the behavior of the noise associated to the bifractional Brownian motion and limit theorems to $B^{H,K}$.

Occupation densities for certain processes related to fractional Brownian motion

In this paper we establish the existence of a square integrable occupation density for two classes of stochastic processes. First we consider a Gaussian process with an absolutely continuous random drift, and secondly we handle the case of a (Skorohod) integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H>\frac 12$. The proof of these results uses a general criterion for the existence of a square integrable local time, which is based on the techniques of Malliavin calculus.

On the convergence to the multiple Wiener-Ito integral

We study the convergence to the multiple Wiener-Itô integral from processes with absolutely continuous paths. More precisely, consider a family of processes, with paths in the Cameron-Martin space, that converges weakly to a standard Brownian motion in $\mathcal C_0([0,T])$. Using these processes, we construct a family that converges weakly, in the sense of the finite dimensional distributions, to the multiple Wiener-Itô integral process of a function $f\in L^2([0,T]^n)$. We prove also the weak convergence in the space $\mathcal C_0([0,T])$ to the second order integral for two important families of processes that converge to a standard Brownian motion.

Sample Path Properties of Bifractional Brownian Motion

Let $B^{H, K}= \big\{B^{H, K}(t), t \in \R_+ \big\}$ be a bifractional Brownian motion in $\R^d$. We prove that $B^{H, K}$ is strongly locally nondeterministic. Applying this property and a stochastic integral representation of $B^{H, K}$, we establish Chung's law of the iterated logarithm for $B^{H, K}$, as well as sharp Hölder conditions and tail probability estimates for the local times of $B^{H, K}$. We also consider the existence and the regularity of the local times of multiparameter bifractional Brownian motion $B^{\bar{H}, \bar{K}}= \big\{B^{\bar{H}, \bar{K}}(t), t \in \R^N_+ \big\}$ in $\R^d$ using Wiener-Itô chaos expansion.

Wiener integrals, Malliavin calculus and covariance measure structure

We introduce the notion of {\em covariance measure structure} for square integrable stochastic processes. We define Wiener integral, we develop a suitable formalism for stochastic calculus of variations and we make Gaussian assumptions only when necessary. Our main examples are finite quadratric variation processes with stationary increments and the bifractional Brownian motion.

Donsker theorem for the Rosenblatt process and a binary market model

In this paper, we prove a Donsker type approximation theorem for the Rosenblatt process, which is a selfsimilar stochastic process exhibiting long range dependence. By using numerical results and simulated data, we show that this approximation performs very well. We use this result to construct a binary market model driven by this process and we show that the model admits arbitrage opportunities.

The Stochastic Heat Equation with a Fractional-Colored Noise: Existence of the Solution

In this article we consider the stochastic heat equation $u_{t}-Δu=\dot B$ in $(0,T) \times \bR^d$, with vanishing initial conditions, driven by a Gaussian noise $\dot B$ which is fractional in time, with Hurst index $H \in (1/2,1)$, and colored in space, with spatial covariance given by a function $f$. Our main result gives the necessary and sufficient condition on $H$ for the existence of the process solution. When $f$ is the Riesz kernel of order $α\in (0,d)$ this condition is $H>(d-α)/4$, which is a relaxation of the condition $H>d/4$ encountered when the noise $\dot B$ is white in space. When $f$ is the Bessel kernel or the heat kernel, the condition remains $H>d/4$.
