Training-Free Agentic AI: Probabilistic Control and Coordination in Multi-Agent LLM Systems

Multi-agent large language model (LLM) systems enable complex, long-horizon reasoning by composing specialized agents, but practical deployment remains hindered by inefficient routing, noisy feedback, and high interaction cost. We introduce REDEREF, a lightweight and training-free controller for multi-agent LLM collaboration that improves routing efficiency during recursive delegation. REDEREF integrates (i) belief-guided delegation via Thompson sampling to prioritize agents with historically positive marginal contributions, (ii) reflection-driven re-routing using a calibrated LLM or programmatic judge, (iii) evidence-based selection rather than output averaging, and (iv) memory-aware priors to reduce cold-start inefficiency. Across multi-agent split-knowledge tasks, we show that while recursive retry alone saturates task success, belief-guided routing reduces token usage by 28%, agent calls by 17%, and time-to-success by 19% compared to random recursive delegation, and adapts gracefully under agent or judge degradation. These results demonstrate that simple, interpretable probabilistic control can meaningfully improve the efficiency and robustness of multi-agent LLM systems without training or fine-tuning.

Observation of disorder-induced superfluidity

The emergence of states with long-range correlations in a disordered landscape is rare, as disorder typically suppresses the particle mobility required for long-range coherence. But when more than two energy levels are available per site, disorder can induce resonances that locally enhance mobility. Here we explore phases arising from the interplay between disorder, kinetic energy, and interactions on a superconducting processor with qutrit readout and control. Compressibility measurements distinguish an incompressible Mott insulator from surrounding compressible phases and reveal signatures of glassiness, reflected in non-ergodic behavior. Spatially-resolved two-point correlator measurements identify regions of the phase diagram with a non-vanishing condensate fraction. We also visualize the spectrum by measuring the dynamical structure factor. A linearly-dispersing phonon mode materializes in the superfluid, appearing even when disorder is introduced to the clean Mott insulator. Our results provide strong experimental evidence for disorder-induced superfluidity.

Hilbert space signatures of non-ergodic glassy dynamics

Disorder in quantum many-body systems can drive transitions between ergodic and non-ergodic phases, yet the nature--and even the existence--of these transitions remains intensely debated. Using a two-dimensional array of superconducting qubits, we study an interacting spin model at finite temperature in a disordered landscape, tracking dynamics both in real space and in Hilbert space. Over a broad disorder range, we observe an intermediate non-ergodic regime with glass-like characteristics: physical observables become broadly distributed and some, but not all, degrees of freedom are effectively frozen. The Hilbert-space return probability shows slow power-law decay, consistent with finite-temperature quantum glassiness. In the same regime, we detect the onset of a finite Edwards-Anderson order parameter and the disappearance of spin diffusion. By contrast, at lower disorder, spin transport persists with a nonzero diffusion coefficient. Our results show that there is a transition out of the ergodic phase in two-dimensional systems.

Implementation of a quantum addressable router using superconducting qubits

The implementation of a quantum router capable of performing both quantum signal routing and quantum addressing (a Q2-router) represents a key step toward building quantum networks and quantum random access memories. We realize a Q2-router that uses fixed-frequency transmon qubits to implement a routing protocol based on two native controlled-iSWAP gates. These gates leverage a large ZZ interaction to selectively route information according to a quantum address. We find an estimated average routing fidelity of 95.3%, with errors arising primarily from decoherence or state preparation and measurement. We present a comprehensive calibration and characterization of both the c-iSWAP gates and the overall routing protocol through randomized benchmarking techniques and state tomography.

Harnessing Business and Media Insights with Large Language Models

This paper introduces Fortune Analytics Language Model (FALM). FALM empowers users with direct access to comprehensive business analysis, including market trends, company performance metrics, and expert insights. Unlike generic LLMs, FALM leverages a curated knowledge base built from professional journalism, enabling it to deliver precise and in-depth answers to intricate business questions. Users can further leverage natural language queries to directly visualize financial data, generating insightful charts and graphs to understand trends across diverse business sectors clearly. FALM fosters user trust and ensures output accuracy through three novel methods: 1) Time-aware reasoning guarantees accurate event registration and prioritizes recent updates. 2) Thematic trend analysis explicitly examines topic evolution over time, providing insights into emerging business landscapes. 3) Content referencing and task decomposition enhance answer fidelity and data visualization accuracy. We conduct both automated and human evaluations, demonstrating FALM's significant performance improvements over baseline methods while prioritizing responsible AI practices. These benchmarks establish FALM as a cutting-edge LLM in the business and media domains, with exceptional accuracy and trustworthiness.

Experimental advances with the QICK (Quantum Instrumentation Control Kit) for superconducting quantum hardware

The QICK is a standalone open source qubit controller that was first introduced in 2022. In this follow-up work, we present recent experimental use cases that the QICK uniquely enabled for superconducting qubit systems. These include multiplexed signal generation and readout, mixer-free readout, pre-distorted fast flux pulses, and phase-coherent pulses for parametric operations, including high-fidelity parametric entangling gates. We explain in detail how the QICK was used to enable these experiments.
