Monoidal categorifications of cluster algebras of type A and D

In this note, we introduce monoidal subcategories of the tensor category of finite-dimensional representations of a simply-laced quantum affine algebra, parametrized by arbitrary Dynkin quivers. For linearly oriented quivers of types A and D, we show that these categories provide monoidal categorifications of cluster algebras of the same type. The proof is purely representation-theoretical, in the spirit of [arXiv:0903.1452].

Asymptotic representations and Drinfeld rational fractions

We introduce and study a category of representations of the Borel algebra, associated with a quantum loop algebra of non-twisted type. We construct fundamental representations for this category as a limit of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules over the quantum loop algebra and we establish explicit formulas for their characters. We prove that general simple modules in this category are classified by n-tuples of rational functions in one variable, which are regular and non-zero at the origin but may have a zero or a pole at infinity.

Langlands duality for representations of quantum groups

We establish a correspondence (or duality) between the characters and the crystal bases of finite-dimensional representations of quantum groups associated to Langlands dual semi-simple Lie algebras. This duality may also be stated purely in terms of semi-simple Lie algebras. To explain this duality, we introduce an "interpolating quantum group" depending on two parameters which interpolates between a quantum group and its Langlands dual. We construct examples of its representations, depending on two parameters, which interpolate between representations of two Langlands dual quantum groups.

Langlands duality for finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras

We describe a correspondence (or duality) between the q-characters of finite-dimensional representations of a quantum affine algebra and its Langlands dual in the spirit of q-alg/9708006 and 0809.4453. We prove this duality for the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and their irreducible tensor products. In the course of the proof we introduce and construct "interpolating (q,t)-characters" depending on two parameters which interpolate between the q-characters of a quantum affine algebra and its Langlands dual.

Simple tensor products

Let F be the category of finite dimensional representations of an arbitrary quantum affine algebra. We prove that a tensor product $S_1\otimes ... \otimes S_N$ of simple objects of F is simple if and only if for any $i < j$, $S_i\otimes S_j$ is simple.

The algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ and applications

In this note we consider the algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ and we study the category O of its integrable representations. The main motivations are applications to quantum toroidal algebras, more precisely predictions of character formulae for representations of quantum toroidal algebras. In this context, we state a general positivity conjecture for representations of $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ viewed as representations of quantum toroidal algebras, that we prove for Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules.

Cluster algebras and quantum affine algebras

Let C be the category of finite-dimensional representations of a quantum affine algebra of simply-laced type. We introduce certain monoidal subcategories C_l (l integer) of C and we study their Grothendieck rings using cluster algebras.

Double affine Lie algebras and finite groups

We introduce and begin to study Lie theoretical analogs of symplectic reflection algebras for a finite cyclic group, which we call "cyclic double affine Lie algebra". We focus on type A : in the finite (resp. affine, double affine) case, we prove that these structures are finite (resp. affine, toroidal) type Lie algebras, but the gradings differ. The case which is essentially new involves $\mathbb{C}[u,v]$. We describe its universal central extensions and start the study of its representation theory, in particular of its highest weight integrable modules and Weyl modules. We also consider the first Weyl algebra $A_1$ instead of the polynomial ring $\mathbb{C}[u,v]$, and, more generally, a rank one rational Cherednik algebra. We study quasi-finite highest weight representations of these Lie algebras.

Beyond Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules

In this survey, we shall be concerned with the category of finite-dimensional representations of the untwisted quantum affine algebras when the quantum parameter q is not a root of unity. We review the foundational results of the subject, including the Drinfeld presentation, the classification of simple modules and q-characters. We then concentrate on particular families of irreducible representations whose structure has recently been understood: Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules, minimal affinizations and beyond.

Quantum toroidal algebras and their representations

Quantum toroidal algebras (or double affine quantum algebras) are defined from quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras by using the Drinfeld quantum affinization process. They are quantum groups analogs of elliptic Cherednik algebras (elliptic double affine Hecke algebras) to whom they are related via Schur-Weyl duality. In this review paper, we give a glimpse on some aspects of their very rich representation theory in the context of general quantum affinizations. We illustrate with several examples. We also announce new results and explain possible further developments, in particular on finite dimensional representations at roots of unity.

Smallness problem for quantum affine algebras and quiver varieties

The geometric small property (Borho-MacPherson) of projective morphisms implies a description of their singularities in terms of intersection homology. In this paper we solve the smallness problem raised by Nakajima (math.QA/0105173) for certain resolutions of quiver varieties (analogs of the Springer resolution) : for Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of simply-laced quantum affine algebras, we characterize explicitly the Drinfeld polynomials corresponding to the small resolutions. We use an elimination theorem for monomials of Frenkel-Reshetikhin q-characters that we establish for non necessarily simply-laced quantum affine algebras. We also refine results of (math.QA/0501202) and extend the main result to general simply-laced quantum affinizations, in particular to quantum toroidal algebras (double affine quantum algebras).

Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjecture : the general case

We prove the Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KR) conjecture in the general case : for all twisted quantum affine algebras we prove that the characters of KR modules solve the twisted Q-system and we get explicit formulas for the character of their tensor products (the untwisted simply-laced case was treated by Najakima, and the untwisted case by the author). The proof is uniform and provides several new developments for the representation theory of twisted quantum affine algebras, including twisted Frenkel-Reshetikhin q-characters (expected by Frenkel-Reshetikhin and Frenkel-Mukhin). We also prove the twisted T-system. As an application we get explicit formulas for the twisted q-characters of fundamental representations for all types, including the formulas for types D_4^{(3)}, E_6^{(2)} conjectured by Reshetikhin. We prove the formulas for KR modules in types A_n^{(2)} and D_4^{(3)} conjectured by Kuniba-Suzuki. Eventually our results imply the conjectural branching rules [HKOTT] to the quantum subalgebra of finite type.

On minimal affinizations of representations of quantum groups

In this paper we study minimal affinizations of representations of quantum groups (generalizations of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of quantum affine algebras introduced by Chari). We prove that all minimal affinizations in types A, B, G are special in the sense of monomials. Although this property is not satisfied in general, we also prove an analog property for a large class of minimal affinization in types C, D, F. As an application, the Frenkel-Mukhin algorithm works for these modules. For minimal affinizations of type A, B we prove the thin property (the l-weight spaces are of dimension 1) and a conjecture of Nakai-Nakanishi (already known for type A). The proof of the special property is extended uniformly for more general quantum affinizations of quantum Kac-Moody algebras.

Level 0 Monomial crystals

We study the monomial crystal defined by the second author. We show that each component of the monomial crystal can be embedded into a crystal of an extremal weight module introduced by Kashiwara. And we determine all monomials appearing in the components corresponding to all level 0 fundamental representations of quantum affine algebras except for some nodes of $E_6^{(2)}$, $E_7^{(1)}$, $E_8^{(1)}$. Thus we obtain explicit descriptions of the crystals in these examples. We also give those for the corresponding finite dimensional representations. For classical types, we give them in terms of tableaux. For exceptional types, we list up all monomials.

Drinfeld coproduct, quantum fusion tensor category and applications

The class of quantum affinizations includes quantum affine algebras and quantum toroidal algebras. In general they have no Hopf algebra structure, but have a "coproduct" (the Drinfeld coproduct) which does not produce tensor products of modules in the usual way because it is defined in a completion. In this paper we propose a new process to produce quantum fusion modules from it : for all quantum affinizations, we construct by deformation and renormalization a new (non semi-simple) tensor category Mod. For quantum affine algebras this process is new and different from the usual tensor product. For general quantum affinizations, for example for toroidal algebras, so far, no process to produce fusion modules was known. We derive several applications from it : we construct the fusion of (finitely many) arbitrary l-highest weight modules, and prove that it is always cyclic. We establish exact sequences involving fusion of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules related to new T-systems. Eventually for a large class of quantum affinizations we prove that the subcategory of finite length modules of Mod is stable under the new monoidal bifunctor.

The Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjecture and solutions of T-systems

We prove the Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjecture for all untwisted quantum affine algebras : we prove that the character of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules solve the Q-system and we give an explicit formula for the character of their tensor products. In the proof we show that the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules are special in the sense of monomials and that their q-characters solve the T-system (functional relations appearing in the study of solvable lattice models). Moreover we prove that the T-system can be written in the form of an exact sequence. For simply-laced cases, these results were proved by Nakajima with geometric arguments which are not available in general. The proof we use is different and purely algebraic, and so can be extended uniformly to non simply-laced cases.

Monomials of q and q,t-characters for non simply-laced quantum affinizations

Nakajima introduced the morphism of q,t-characters for finite dimensional representation of simply-laced quantum affine algebras : it is a t-deformation of the Frenkel-Reshetikhin's morphism of q-characters (sum of monomials in infinite variables). In math.QA/0212257 we generalized the construction of q,t-characters for non simply-laced quantum affine algebras. First in this paper we prove a conjecture of math.QA/0212257 : the monomials of q and q,t-characters of standard representations are the same in non simply-laced cases (the simply-laced cases were treated by Nakajima) and the coefficients are non negative. In particular these q,t-characters can be considered as t-deformations of q-characters. In the proof we show that for quantum affine algebras of type A, B, C and quantum toroidal algebras of type A^{(1)} the l-weight spaces of fundamental representations are of dimension 1. Eventually we show and use a generalization of results of Frenkel-Reshetikhin, -Mukhin and Nakajima : for general quantum affinizations we prove that the l-weights of a l-highest weight simple module are lower than the highest l-weight in the sense of monomials.

Representations of Quantum Affinizations and Fusion Product

In this paper we study general quantum affinizations $\U_q(\hat{\Glie})$ of symmetrizable quantum Kac-Moody algebras and we develop their representation theory. We prove a triangular decomposition and we give a classication of (type 1) highest weight simple integrable representations analog to Drinfel'd-Chari-Pressley one. A generalization of the q-characters morphism, introduced by Frenkel-Reshetikhin for quantum affine algebras, appears to be a powerful tool for this investigation. For a large class of quantum affinizations (including quantum affine algebras and quantum toroidal algebras), the combinatorics of q-characters give a ring structure * on the Grothendieck group $\text{Rep}(\U_q(\hat{\Glie}))$ of the integrable representations that we classified. We propose a new construction of tensor products in a larger category by using the Drinfel'd new coproduct (it can not directly be used for $\text{Rep}(\U_q(\hat{\Glie}))$ because it involves infinite sums). In particular we prove that * is a fusion product (a product of representations is a representation).
