Hom-Novikov algebras

We study a twisted generalization of Novikov algebras, called Hom-Novikov algebras, in which the two defining identities are twisted by a linear map. It is shown that Hom-Novikov algebras can be obtained from Novikov algebras by twisting along any algebra endomorphism. All algebra endomorphisms on complex Novikov algebras of dimensions two or three are computed, and their associated Hom-Novikov algebras are described explicitly. Another class of Hom-Novikov algebras is constructed from Hom-commutative algebras together with a derivation, generalizing a construction due to Dorfman and Gel'fand. Two other classes of Hom-Novikov algebras are constructed from Hom-Lie algebras together with a suitable linear endomorphism, generalizing a construction due to Bai and Meng.

Right Hom-alternative algebras

It is shown that every multiplicative right Hom-alternative algebra is both Hom-power associative and Hom-Jordan admissible. Multiplicative right Hom-alternative algebras admit Albert-type decompositions with respect to idempotents. Multiplication operators defined by idempotents in right Hom-alternative algebras are studied. Hom-versions of some well-known identities in right alternative algebras are proved.

Non-commutative Hom-Poisson algebras

A Hom-type generalization of non-commutative Poisson algebras, called non-commutative Hom-Poisson algebras, are studied. They are closed under twisting by suitable self-maps. Hom-Poisson algebras, in which the Hom-associative product is commutative, are closed under tensor products. Through (de)polarization Hom-Poisson algebras are equivalent to admissible Hom-Poisson algebras, each of which has only one binary operation. Multiplicative admissible Hom-Poisson algebras are Hom-power associative.

A twisted generalization of Novikov-Poisson algebras

Hom-Novikov-Poisson algebras, which are twisted generalizations of Novikov-Poisson algebras, are studied. Hom-Novikov-Poisson algebras are shown to be closed under tensor products and several kinds of twistings. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given under which Hom-Novikov-Poisson algebras give rise to Hom-Poisson algebras.

Hom-power associative algebras

A generalization of power associative algebra, called Hom-power associative algebra, is studied. The main result says that a multiplicative Hom-algebra is Hom-power associative if and only if it satisfies two identities of degrees three and four. It generalizes Albert's result that power associativity is equivalent to third and fourth power associativity. In particular, multiplicative right Hom-alternative algebras and non-commutative Hom-Jordan algebras are Hom-power associative.

A Hom-associative analogue of n-ary Hom-Nambu algebras

It is shown that every n-ary totally Hom-associative algebra with equal twisting maps yields an n-ary Hom-Nambu algebra via an n-ary version of the commutator bracket. The class of n-ary totally Hom-associative algebras is shown to be closed under twisting by self-weak morphisms. Every multiplicative n-ary totally Hom-associative algebra yields a sequence of multiplicative totally Hom-associative algebras of exponentially higher arities. Under suitable conditions, an n-ary totally Hom-associative algebra gives an (n-k)-ary totally Hom-associative algebra.

On n-ary Hom-Nambu and Hom-Maltsev algebras

Hom-alternative and Hom-Jordan algebras are shown to give rise to Hom-Nambu algebras of arities 2^{k+1} + 1. The class of n-ary Hom-Maltsev algebras is studied. Multiplicative n-ary Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras are shown to be n-ary Hom-Maltsev algebras. Examples of ternary Hom-Maltsev algebras that are not ternary Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras are given. Ternary Hom-Maltsev algebras are shown to arise from composition algebras.

On n-ary Hom-Nambu and Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras

It is observed that the category of n-ary Hom-Nambu(-Lie) algebras is closed under twisting by self-weak morphisms. Constructions of ternary Hom-Nambu algebras from Hom-associative algebras, Hom-Lie algebras, ternary totally Hom-associative algebras, and Hom-Jordan triple systems are given. Every multiplicative n-ary Hom-Nambu algebra gives rise to a sequence of Hom-Nambu algebras of exponentially higher arities. Under some conditions, an n-ary Hom-Nambu(-Lie) algebra gives rise to an (n-1)-ary Hom-Nambu(-Lie) algebra.

Hom-bialgebras and comodule Hom-algebras

We study Hom-bialgebras and objects admitting coactions by Hom-bialgebras. In particular, we construct a Hom-bialgebra M representing the functor of 2x2-matrices on Hom-associative algebras. Then we construct a Hom-algebra analogue of the affine plane and show that it is a comodule Hom-algebra over M in a suitable sense. It is also shown that the enveloping Hom-associative algebra of a Hom-Lie algebra is naturally a Hom-bialgebra.

Hom-Maltsev, Hom-alternative, and Hom-Jordan algebras

Hom-Maltsev(-admissible) algebras are defined, and it is shown that Hom-alternative algebras are Hom-Maltsev-admissible. With a new definition of a Hom-Jordan algebra, it is shown that Hom-alternative algebras are Hom-Jordan-admissible. Hom-type generalizations of some well-known identities in alternative algebras, including the Moufang identities, are obtained.

Infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras and Hom-Lie bialgebras

We study the Hom-type generalization of infinitesimal bialgebras, called infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras. In particular, we consider infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras arising from quivers, the sub-classes of coboundary and quasi-triangular infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras, the associative Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, and homological perturbation of the comultiplications in infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras. The relationships between infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras, Hom-Lie bialgebras, and the classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation are also studied.

Hom-quantum groups III: Representations and module Hom-algebras

We study Hom-quantum groups, their representations, and module Hom-algebras. Two Twisting Principles for Hom-type algebras are formulated, and construction results are proved following these Twisting Principles. Examples include Hom-quantum n-spaces, Hom-quantum enveloping algebras of Kac-Moody algebras, Hom-Verma modules, and Hom-type analogs of U_q(sl_2)-module-algebra structures on the quantum planes.

On homotopy invariance for algebras over colored PROPs

Over a monoidal model category, under some mild assumptions, we equip the categories of colored PROPs and their algebras with projective model category structures. A Boardman-Vogt style homotopy invariance result about algebras over cofibrant colored PROPs is proved. As an example, we define homotopy topological conformal field theories and observe that such structures are homotopy invariant.

Hom-algebras and homology

Classes of $G$-Hom-associative algebras are constructed as deformations of $G$-associative algebras along algebra endomorphisms. As special cases, we obtain Hom-associative and Hom-Lie algebras as deformations of associative and Lie algebras, respectively, along algebra endomorphisms. Chevalley-Eilenberg type homology for Hom-Lie algebras are also constructed.

Hom-quantum groups II: cobraided Hom-bialgebras and Hom-quantum geometry

A class of non-associative and non-coassociative generalizations of cobraided bialgebras, called cobraided Hom-bialgebras, is introduced. The non-(co)associativity in a cobraided Hom-bialgebra is controlled by a twisting map. Several methods for constructing cobraided Hom-bialgebras are given. In particular, Hom-type generalizations of FRT quantum groups, including quantum matrices and related quantum groups, are obtained. Each cobraided Hom-bialgebra comes with solutions of the operator quantum Hom-Yang-Baxter equations, which are twisted analogues of the operator form of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Solutions of the Hom-Yang-Baxter equation can be obtained from comodules of suitable cobraided Hom-bialgebras. Hom-type generalizations of the usual quantum matrices coactions on the quantum planes give rise to non-associative and non-coassociative analogues of quantum geometry.

Hom-quantum groups I: quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras

We introduce a Hom-type generalization of quantum groups, called quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras. They are non-associative and non-coassociative analogues of Drinfel'd's quasi-triangular bialgebras, in which the non-(co)associativity is controlled by a twisting map. A family of quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras can be constructed from any quasi-triangular bialgebra, such as Drinfel'd's quantum enveloping algebras. Each quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebra comes with a solution of the quantum Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, which is a non-associative version of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Solutions of the Hom-Yang-Baxter equation can be obtained from modules of suitable quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras.

The classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation and Hom-Lie bialgebras

Motivated by recent work on Hom-Lie algebras and the Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, we introduce a twisted generalization of the classical Yang-Baxter equation (CYBE), called the classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation (CHYBE). We show how an arbitrary solution of the CYBE induces multiple infinite families of solutions of the CHYBE. We also introduce the closely related structure of Hom-Lie bialgebras, which generalize Drinfel'd's Lie bialgebras. In particular, we study the questions of duality and cobracket perturbation and the sub-classes of coboundary and quasi-triangular Hom-Lie bialgebras.

Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, Hom-Lie algebras, and quasi-triangular bialgebras

We study a twisted version of the Yang-Baxter Equation, called the Hom-Yang-Baxter Equation (HYBE), which is motivated by Hom-Lie algebras. Three classes of solutions of the HYBE are constructed, one from Hom-Lie algebras and the others from Drinfeld's (dual) quasi-triangular bialgebras. Each solution of the HYBE can be extended to operators that satisfy the braid relations. Assuming an invertibility condition, these operators give a representation of the braid group.
