Wall-crossing for Hilbert schemes

The goal of the minimal model program for the Hilbert scheme of points on a surface aims is to describe the (stable) base loci of all divisors, their associated birational models, and the maps between them. We answer all of these questions for the Hilbert scheme of points on the blowup of the affine plane at the origin. The birational models are Brill-Noether loci in a larger Hilbert scheme, and nested variants thereof, and the wall-crossing maps are described as explicit projections. We also establish several new facts about the homogeneous coordinate ring of this Hilbert scheme, including finding the minimal set of line bundles whose sections generate the ring.

Unexpected toric Richardson varieties

We prove that an open Richardson variety in the complete flag variety for $\mathrm{GL}_n$ is isomorphic to a torus if and only if the corresponding closed Richardson variety is toric. Such toric varieties can be classified in terms of the combinatorics of Bruhat intervals, and include many varieties of dimension larger than $n-1$. We give a combinatorial description of the corresponding polytopes, and compute several explicit examples.

Smooth correspondences between quiver varieties

We introduce a new class of smooth correspondences between Nakajima quiver varieties called split parabolic quiver varieties, and study their properties. We use these correspondences to construct an explicit resolution of singularities of quiver Brill--Noether loci and prove that the latter are irreducible and Cohen-Macaulay of expected dimension (if non-empty). This generalizes the results of Nakajima--Yoshioka and Bayer--Chen--Jiang for Hilbert schemes of points on surfaces.

Tautological classes for (n,n+1) torus knots

We construct an explicit isomorphism between the HOMFLY-PT homology of $(n,n+1)$ torus knots and the direct sum of hook isotypic components of the space of diagonal coinvariants. As a consequence, we compute the action of tautological classes in HOMFLY-PT homology of $(n,n+1)$ torus knots and prove that it extends to an action of the Lie algebra of Hamiltonian vector fields on the plane. We also compute the action of differentials $d_N$ in Rasmussen spectral sequences from HOMLFY-PT to $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$ homology of $(n,n+1)$ torus knots.

Positroid Links and Braid varieties

We study braid varieties and their relation to open positroid varieties. We discuss four different types of braids associated to open positroid strata and show that their associated Legendrian links are all Legendrian isotopic. In particular, we prove that each open positroid stratum can be presented as the augmentation variety for four different Legendrian fronts described in terms of either permutations, juggling patterns, cyclic rank matrices or Le diagrams. We also relate braid varieties to open Richardson varieties and brick manifolds, showing that the latter provide projective compactifications of braid varieties, with normal crossing divisors at infinity.

Newton-Okounkov bodies for nested Hilbert schemes

We study sections of line bundles on the nested Hilbert scheme of points on the affine plane. We describe the spaces of sections in terms of certain ideals introduced by Haiman, and find explicit bases for them by analyzing the trailing terms in some monomial order. As a consequence, we compute the Newton-Okounkov bodies for nested Hilbert schemes.

Colored knot Floer homology: structures and examples

Inspired by the $S^n$ colored version of Khovanov and Khovanov-Rozansky homology, we define a colored version of knot Floer homology by studying the colimit of a directed system of link Floer homology with infinite full twists. Specifically, our $n$-colored knot Floer homology of a knot $K$ is then defined as the colimit of the link Floer homology of $(n, mn)$-cables of $K$ by fixing $n$ and letting $m$ goes to infinity. We show that the colimit of the infinite full twists is a module over the colored knot Floer homology of the unknot. In addition, we give an explicit description of colored Heegaard Floer homology for L-space knots, and maps for colored knot Floer homology of crossing changes.

Stable deformed $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ homology of torus knots

We compute the $E_2$ page in the Rasmussen spectral sequence from triply graded to $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ Khovanov--Rozansky stable homology of torus knots. This confirms a weak form of the conjecture of the second author, Oblomkov, and Rasmussen. The main tool is the link-splitting deformation, or $y$-ification, of link homology; in the $y$-ified context, the relevant Rasmussen spectral sequence collapses and we explicitly compute the $y$-ified $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ stable Khovanov--Rozansky homology of torus knots for all $N$.

Splicing braid varieties

For a positive braid $β\in \mathrm{Br}^{+}_{k}$, we consider the braid variety $X(β)$. We define a family of open sets $\mathcal{U}_{r, w}$ in $X(β)$, where $w \in S_k$ is a permutation and $r$ is a positive integer no greater than the length of $β$. For fixed $r$, the sets $\mathcal{U}_{r, w}$ form an open cover of $X(β)$. We conjecture that $\mathcal{U}_{r,w}$ is given by the nonvanishing of some cluster variables in a single cluster for the cluster structure on $\mathbb{C}[X(β)]$ and that $\mathcal{U}_{r,w}$ admits a cluster structure given by freezing these variables. Moreover, we show that $\mathcal{U}_{r, w}$ is always isomorphic to the product of two braid varieties, and we conjecture that this isomorphism is quasi-cluster. In some important special cases, we are able to prove our conjectures.

Splicing skew shaped positroids

Skew shaped positroids (or skew shaped positroid varieties) are certain Richardson varieties in the flag variety that admit a realization as explicit subvarieties of the Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}(k,n)$. They are parametrized by a pair of Young diagrams $μ\subseteq λ$ fitting inside a $k \times (n-k)$-rectangle. For every $a = 1, \dots, n-k$, we define an explicit open set $U_a$ inside the skew shaped positroid $S^{\circ}_{λ/μ}$, and show that $U_a$ is isomorphic to the product of two smaller skew shaped positroids. Moreover, $U_a$ admits a natural cluster structure and the aforementioned isomorphism is quasi-cluster in the sense of Fraser. Our methods depend on realizing the skew shaped positroid as an explicit braid variety, and generalize the work of the first and third authors for open positroid cells in the Grassmannian.

The elliptic Hall algebra and the double Dyck path algebra

We show that the positive half $\mathcal{E}_{q,t}^{>}$ of the elliptic Hall algebra is embedded as a natural spherical subalgebra inside the double Dyck path algebra $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ introduced by Carlsson, Mellit and the second author. For this, we use the Ding-Iohara-Miki presentation of the elliptic Hall algebra and identify the generators inside $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$. In order to obtain the entire elliptic Hall algebra $\mathcal{E}_{q,t}$, we define a ``double'' $\mathbb{DB}_{q,t}$ of the double Dyck path algebra, together with its positive and negative subalgebras and an involution that exchanges them.

The affine Springer fiber-sheaf correspondence

Given a semisimple element in the loop Lie algebra of a reductive group, we construct a quasi-coherent sheaf on a partial resolution of the trigonometric commuting variety of the Langlands dual group. The construction uses affine Springer theory and can be thought of as an incarnation of 3d mirror symmetry. For the group $GL_n$, the corresponding partial resolution is $\mathrm{Hilb}^n(\mathbb{C}^\times\times \mathbb{C})$. We also consider a quantization of this construction for homogeneous elements.

A geometric interpretation of the Delta Conjecture

We introduce a variety $Y_{n,k}$, which we call the \textit{affine $Δ$-Springer fiber}, generalizing the affine Springer fiber studied by Hikita, whose Borel-Moore homology has an $S_n$ action and a bigrading that corresponds to the Delta Conjecture symmetric function $\mathrm{rev}_q\,ωΔ'_{e_{k-1}}e_n$ under the Frobenius character map. We similarly provide a geometric interpretation for the Rational Shuffle Theorem in the integer slope case $(km,k)$. The variety $Y_{n,k}$ has a map to the affine Grassmannian whose fibers are the $Δ$-Springer fibers introduced by Levinson, Woo, and the third author. Part of our proof of our geometric realization relies on our previous work on a Schur skewing operator formula relating the Rational Shuffle Theorem to the Delta Conjecture.

Hecke categories, idempotents, and commuting stacks

We formulate a connection between a topological and a geometric category. The former is the idempotent completion of the (horizontal) trace of the affine Hecke category, while the latter is the equivariant derived category of the (semi-nilpotent) commuting stack. This provides a more precise and improved version of our proposal in [13].

A combinatorial skewing formula for the Rise Delta Theorem

We prove that the symmetric function $Δ'_{e_{k-1}}e_n$ appearing in the Delta Conjecture can be obtained from the symmetric function in the Rational Shuffle Theorem by applying a Schur skewing operator. This generalizes a formula by the first and third authors for the Delta Conjecture at $t=0$, and follows from work of Blasiak, Haiman, Morse, Pun, and Seelinger. Our main result is that we also provide a purely combinatorial proof of this skewing identity, giving a new proof of the Rise Delta Theorem from the Rational Shuffle Theorem.

Algebraic Weaves and Braid Varieties

In this manuscript we study braid varieties, a class of affine algebraic varieties associated to positive braids. Several geometric constructions are presented, including certain torus actions on braid varieties and holomorphic symplectic structures on their respective quotients. We also develop a diagrammatic calculus for correspondences between braid varieties and use these correspondences to obtain interesting stratifications of braid varieties and their quotients. It is shown that the maximal charts of these stratifications are exponential Darboux charts for the holomorphic symplectic structures, and we relate these strata to exact Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links.

Cluster structures on braid varieties

We show the existence of cluster $\mathcal{A}$-structures and cluster Poisson structures on any braid variety, for any simple Lie group. The construction is achieved via weave calculus and a tropicalization of Lusztig's coordinates. Several explicit seeds are provided and the quiver and cluster variables are readily computable. We prove that these upper cluster algebras equal their cluster algebras, show local acyclicity, and explicitly determine their DT-transformations as the twist automorphisms of braid varieties. The main result also resolves the conjecture of B. Leclerc on the existence of cluster algebra structures on the coordinate rings of open Richardson varieties.

Generic curves and non-coprime Catalans

We compute the Poincaré polynomials of the compactified Jacobians for plane curve singularities with Puiseaux exponents $(nd,md,md+1)$, and relate them to the combinatorics of $q,t$-Catalan numbers in the non-coprime case. We also confirm a conjecture of Cherednik and Danilenko for such curves.
