Splicing positroid varieties

We construct an explicit isomorphism between an open subset in the open positroid variety $Π_{k,n}^{\circ}$ in the Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}(k,n)$ and the product of two open positroid varieties $Π_{k,n-a+1}^{\circ}\times Π_{k,a+k-1}^{\circ}$. In the respective cluster structures, this isomorphism is given by freezing a certain subset of cluster variables and applying a cluster quasi-equivalence.

Tautological classes and symmetry in Khovanov-Rozansky homology

We define a new family of commuting operators $F_k$ in Khovanov-Rozansky link homology, similar to the action of tautological classes in cohomology of character varieties. We prove that $F_2$ satisfies ``hard Lefshetz property" and hence exhibits the symmetry in Khovanov-Rozansky homology conjectured by Dunfield, Gukov and Rasmussen.

From representations of the rational Cherednik algebra to parabolic Hilbert schemes via the Dunkl-Opdam subalgebra

In this note we explicitly construct an action of the rational Cherednik algebra $H_{1,m/n}(S_n,\mathbb{C}^n)$ corresponding to the permutation representation of $S_n$ on the $\mathbb{C}^{*}$-equivariant homology of parabolic Hilbert schemes of points on the plane curve singularity $\{x^{m} = y^{n}\}$ for coprime $m$ and $n$. We use this to construct actions of quantized Gieseker algebras on parabolic Hilbert schemes on the same plane curve singularity, and actions of the Cherednik algebra at $t = 0$ on the equivariant homology of parabolic Hilbert schemes on the non-reduced curve $\{y^{n} = 0\}.$ Our main tool is the study of the combinatorial representation theory of the rational Cherednik algebra via the subalgebra generated by Dunkl-Opdam elements.

Structures in HOMFLY-PT homology

We study the structure of triply graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology using both the data recently computed by Nakagane and Sano for knots up to 11 crossings, and the $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ action defined by the second author, Hogancamp and Mellit. In particular, we compute the HOMFLY-PT $S$-invariant for all knots in the dataset, and compare it to the $\mathfrak{sl}(N)$ concordance invariants.

Calibrated representations of the double Dyck path algebra

The double Dyck path algebra $\mathbb{A}_{q,t}$ and its polynomial representation first arose as a key figure in the proof of the celebrated Shuffle Theorem of Carlsson and Mellit. A geometric formulation for an equivalent algebra $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ was then given by the second author and Carlsson and Mellit using the K-theory of parabolic flag Hilbert schemes. In this article, we initiate the systematic study of the representation theory of the double Dyck path algebra $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$. We define a natural extension of this algebra and study its calibrated representations. We show that the polynomial representation is calibrated, and place it into a large family of calibrated representations constructed from posets satisfying certain conditions. We also define tensor products and duals of these representations, thus proving (under suitable conditions) the category of calibrated representations is generically monoidal. As an application, we prove that tensor powers of the polynomial representation can be constructed from the equivariant K-theory of parabolic Gieseker moduli spaces.

Splitting maps in link Floer homology and integer points in permutahedra

In this paper, we study the skein exact sequence for links via the exact surgery triangle of link Floer homology and compare it with other skein exact sequences given by Ozsváth and Szabó. As an application, we use the skein exact sequence to study the splitting number and splitting maps for links. In particular, we associate the splitting maps for the torus link $T(n, n)$ to integer points in the $(n-1)$-dimensional permutahedron, and obtain the link Floer homology of an $n$-component homology nontrivial unlink in $S^{1}\times S^{2}$.

Evaluations of annular Khovanov--Rozansky homology

We describe the universal target of annular Khovanov-Rozansky link homology functors as the homotopy category of a free symmetric monoidal category generated by one object and one endomorphism. This categorifies the ring of symmetric functions and admits categorical analogues of plethystic transformations, which we use to characterize the annular invariants of Coxeter braids. Further, we prove the existence of symmetric group actions on the Khovanov-Rozansky invariants of cabled tangles and we introduce spectral sequences that aid in computing the homologies of generalized Hopf links. Finally, we conjecture a characterization of the horizontal traces of Rouquier complexes of Coxeter braids in other types.

The Trace of the affine Hecke category

We compare the (horizontal) trace of the affine Hecke category with the elliptic Hall algebra, thus obtaining an "affine" version of the construction of [14]. Explicitly, we show that the aforementioned trace is generated by the objects $E_{\textbf{d}} = \text{Tr}(Y_1^{d_1} \dots Y_n^{d_n} T_1 \dots T_{n-1})$ as $\textbf{d} = (d_1,\dots,d_n) \in \mathbb{Z}^n$, where $Y_i$ denote the Wakimoto objects of [9] and $T_i$ denote Rouquier complexes. We compute certain categorical commutators between the $E_{\textbf{d}}$'s and show that they match the categorical commutators between the sheaves $\mathcal{E}_{\textbf{d}}$ on the flag commuting stack, that were considered in [27]. At the level of $K$-theory, these commutators yield a certain integral form $\widetilde{\mathcal{A}}$ of the elliptic Hall algebra, which we can thus map to the $K$-theory of the trace of the affine Hecke category.

Algebra and geometry of link homology

These notes cover the lectures of the first named author at 2021 IHES Summer School on "Enumerative Geometry, Physics and Representation Theory" with additional details and references. They cover the definition of Khovanov-Rozansky triply graded homology, its basic properties and recent advances, as well as three algebro-geometric models for link homology: braid varieties, Hilbert schemes of singular curves and affine Springer fibers, and Hilbert schemes of points on the plane.

Cyclotomic expansions for $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ knot invariants via interpolation Macdonald polynomials

In this paper we construct a new basis for the cyclotomic completion of the center of the quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ in terms of the interpolation Macdonald polynomials. Then we use a result of Okounkov to provide a dual basis with respect to the quantum Killing form (or Hopf pairing). The main applications are: 1) cyclotomic expansions for the $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ Reshetikhin--Turaev link invariants and the universal $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ knot invariant; 2) an explicit construction of the unified $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ invariants for integral homology 3-spheres using universal Kirby colors. These results generalize those of Habiro for $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. In addition, we give a simple proof of the fact that the universal $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ invariant of any evenly framed link and the universal $\mathfrak{sl}_N$ invariant of any $0$-framed algebraically split link are $Γ$-invariant, where $Γ=Y/2Y$ with the root lattice $Y$.

Derived traces of Soergel categories

We study two kinds of categorical traces of (monoidal) dg categories, with particular interest in categories of Soergel bimodules. First, we explicitly compute the usual Hochschild homology, or derived vertical trace, of the category of Soergel bimodules in arbitrary types. Secondly, we introduce the notion of derived horizontal trace of a monoidal dg category and compute the derived horizontal trace of Soergel bimodules in type A. As an application we obtain a derived annular Khovanov-Rozansky link invariant with an action of full twist insertion, and thus a categorification of the HOMFLY-PT skein module of the solid torus.

Triple linking numbers and Heegaard Floer homology

We establish some new relationships between Milnor invariants and Heegaard Floer homology. This includes a formula for the Milnor triple linking number from the link Floer complex, detection results for the Whitehead link and Borromean rings, and a structural property of the $d$-invariants of surgeries on certain algebraically split links.

Generalized $q,t$-Catalan numbers

Recent work of the first author, Negut and Rasmussen, and of Oblomkov and Rozansky in the context of Khovanov--Rozansky knot homology produces a family of polynomials in $q$ and $t$ labeled by integer sequences. These polynomials can be expressed as equivariant Euler characteristics of certain line bundles on flag Hilbert schemes. The $q,t$-Catalan numbers and their rational analogues are special cases of this construction. In this paper, we give a purely combinatorial treatment of these polynomials and show that in many cases they have nonnegative integer coefficients. For sequences of length at most 4, we prove that these coefficients enumerate subdiagrams in a certain fixed Young diagram and give an explicit symmetric chain decomposition of the set of such diagrams. This strengthens results of Lee, Li and Loehr for $(4,n)$ rational $q,t$-Catalan numbers.

Serre duality for Khovanov-Rozansky homology

We prove that the full twist is a Serre functor in the homotopy category of type A Soergel bimodules. As a consequence, we relate the top and bottom Hochschild degrees in Khovanov-Rozansky homology, categorifying a theorem of Kálmán.

Surgery on links of linking number zero and the Heegaard Floer $d$-invariant

We study Heegaard Floer homology and various related invariants (such as the $h$-function) for two-component L-space links with linking number zero. For such links, we explicitly describe the relationship between the $h$-function, the Sato-Levine invariant and the Casson invariant. We give a formula for the Heegaard Floer $d$-invariants of integral surgeries on two-component L-space links of linking number zero in terms of the $h$-function, generalizing a formula of Ni and Wu. As a consequence, for such links with unknotted components, we characterize L-space surgery slopes in terms of the $ν^{+}$-invariants of the knots obtained from blowing down the components. We give a proof of a skein inequality for the $d$-invariants of $+1$ surgeries along linking number zero links that differ by a crossing change. We also describe bounds on the smooth four-genus of links in terms of the $h$-function, expanding on previous work of the second author, and use these bounds to calculate the four-genus in several examples of links.

Recursions for rational q,t-Catalan numbers

We give a simple recursion labeled by binary sequences which computes rational $q,t$-Catalan power series, both in relatively prime and non relatively prime cases. It is inspired by, but not identical to recursions due to B. Elias, M. Hogancamp, and A. Mellit, obtained in their study of link homology. We also compare our recursion with the Hogancamp-Mellit's recursion and verify a connection between the Khovanov-Rozansky homology of $N,M$-torus links and the rational $q,t$-Catalan power series for general positive $N,M.$

Quadratic ideals and Rogers-Ramanujan recursions

We give an explicit recursive description of the Hilbert series and Gröbner bases for the family of quadratic ideals defining the jet schemes of a double point. We relate these recursions to the Rogers-Ramanujan identity and prove a conjecture of the second author, Oblomkov and Rasmussen.

Hilbert schemes and $y$-ification of Khovanov-Rozansky homology

We define a deformation of the triply graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of a link $L$ depending on a choice of parameters $y_c$ for each component of $L$, which satisfies link-splitting properties similar to the Batson-Seed invariant. Keeping the $y_c$ as formal variables yields a link homology valued in triply graded modules over $\mathbb{Q}[x_c,y_c]_{c\in π_0(L)}$. We conjecture that this invariant restores the missing $Q\leftrightarrow TQ^{-1}$ symmetry of the triply graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology, and in addition satisfies a number of predictions coming from a conjectural connection with Hilbert schemes of points in the plane. We compute this invariant for all positive powers of the full twist and match it to the family of ideals appearing in Haiman's description of the isospectral Hilbert scheme.
