The protophobic $X$-boson coupled to quantum electrodynamics

The possible origin of an $X$-boson having a mass value around $17 \, \mbox{MeV}$ had motivated us to investigate its interaction with leptons of QED. This new hypothetical particle can possibly be a candidate to describe the so called fifth interaction, in a new physics scenario beyond the Standard Model. The model of the $X$-boson interacting with QED is based on a $U(1) \times U'(1)$ symmetry, where the group $U'(1)$ is attached to the $X$-boson, with a kinetic mixing with the photon. The Higgs sector was revisited to generate the mass for the new boson. Thus, the mass of $17 \, \mbox{MeV}$ fixes a vacuum expected value scale. Thereby, we could estimate the mass of the hidden Higgs field through both the VEV-scale and the Higgs' couplings. A model of QFT was constructed in a renormalizable gauge, and we analyzed its perturbative structure. After that, the radiative correction of the $X$-boson propagator has been calculated at one loop approximation to yield the Yukawa potential correction. The form factors associated with the QED-vertex correction were calculated to confirm electron's anomalous magnetic moment together with the computation of the interaction magnitude. The muon case was discussed. Furthermore, we have introduced a renormalization group scheme to explore the current $X$-boson mass and its coupling constant with the leptons of the Standard Model.

Helicity and Vortex generation

In this paper we have continued the calculations made recently concerning he generalization of the minimal coupling prescription. We have obtained the Navier-Stokes equation for the charged fluid embedded into an electromagnetic field. We have analyzed the wave feature of the fields. Wave equations for velocity and vorticity were obtained and gauge choices were discussed. In this paper we have studied the evolution of helicity and circulation from the Maxwell type formulation to the equations of a compressible fluid, charged in interaction with an electromagnetic field. We see that for both helicity and circulation there are terms that, in principle, can be considered as source terms or creation of circulation in the dynamics of fluids

Accelerated cosmos in a non-extensive setup

Here, we consider a flat FRW universe whose its horizon entropy meets the Rényi entropy of non-extensive systems. In our model, the ordinary energy-momentum conservation law is not always valid. By applying the Clausius relation as well as the Cai-Kim temperature to the apparent horizon of a flat FRW universe, we obtain modified Friedmann equations. Fitting the model to the observational data on current accelerated universe, some values for the model parameters are also addressed. Our study shows that the current accelerating phase of universe expansion may be described by a geometrical fluid, originated from the non-extensive aspects of geometry, which models a varying dark energy source interacting with matter field in the Rastall way. Moreover, our results indicate that the probable non-extensive features of spacetime may also be used to model a varying dark energy source which does not interact with matter field, and is compatible with the current accelerated phase of universe.

The magnetocaloric effect from the point of view of Tsallis non-extensive thermostatistics

In this work we have analyzed the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) from the Tsallis thermostatistics formalism (TTF) point of view. The problem discussed here is a two level system MCE. We have calculated, both analytically and numerically, the entropy of this system as a function of the Tsallis' parameter (the well known q-parameter) which value depends on the extensivity (q<1) or non-extensivity (q>1) of the system. Since we consider this MCE not depending on the initial conditions, which classify our system as a non-extensive one, we used several greater than one q-parameters to understand the effect of the nonextensive formalism in the entropy as well as the magnetocaloric potential, $ΔS$. We have plotted several curves that shows precisely the behavior of this effect when dealt with non-extensive statistics.

Notes on microstates, Tsallis statistics and entropic gravity formalism

It is an old idea to realize Einstein's equations as a thermodynamical equation of state. Since then, there has been new conjectures to understand gravity from another point of view. In this way we can accept that the gravitational field is not an underlying one like an emergent force from other approaches based on the knowledge of relativity, quantum and black holes thermodynamics, and different statistical formalisms. One important question concerning this gravity/thermostatistics correspondence is whether the holographic screen could be well defined for a nonrelativistic case of a source mass. Hence, to understand the actual role of the holographic screen is a very relevant issue. In this letter we have analyzed the entropy as a function of the holographic screen in some different scenarios. We have disclosed modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) from Verlinde's ideas. Besides, we have calculated some cosmological elements using the same ideas. The results obtained using MOND will guide us to obtain other cosmological results.

Faddeev-Jackiw approach of the noncommutative spacetime Podolsky electromagnetic theory

The interest in higher derivatives field theories has its origin mainly in their influence concerning the renormalization properties of physical models and to remove ultraviolet divergences. The noncommutative Podolsky theory is a constrained system that cannot by directly quantized by the canonical way. In this work we have used the Faddeev-Jackiw method in order to obtain the Dirac brackets of the NC Podolsky theory.

Tsallis and Kaniadakis statistics from the viewpoint of entropic gravity formalism

It has been shown in the literature that effective gravitational constants, which are derived from Verlinde's formalism, can be used to introduce the Tsallis and Kaniadakis statistics. This method provides a simple alternative to the usual procedure normally used in these non-Gaussian statistics. We have applied our formalism in the Jeans mass criterion of stability and in the free fall time collapsing of a self-gravitating system where new results are obtained. A possible connection between our formalism and deviations of Newton's law of gravitation in a submillimeter range is made.

New observational constraints on $f(R)$ gravity from cosmic chronometers

We use the recently released cosmic chronometer data and the latest measured value of the local Hubble parameter, combined with the latest joint light curves of Supernovae Type Ia, and Baryon Acoustic Oscillation distance measurements, in order to impose constraints on the viable and most used $f(R)$ gravity models. We consider four $f(R)$ models, namely the Hu-Sawicki, the Starobinsky, the Tsujikawa, and the exponential one, and we parametrize them introducing a distortion parameter $b$ that quantifies the deviation from $Λ$CDM cosmology. Our analysis reveals that a small but non-zero deviation from $Λ$CDM cosmology is slightly favored, with the corresponding fittings exhibiting very efficient $AIC$ and $BIC$ Information Criteria values. Clearly, $f(R)$ gravity is consistent with observations, and it can serve as a candidate for modified gravity.

The Strong Interaction Model in DFR noncommutative space-time

The Doplicher-Fredenhagen-Roberts (DFR) framework for noncommutative (NC) space-times is considered as an alternative approach to describe the physics of quantum gravity. In this formalism, the NC parameter, {\it i.e.} $θ^{μν}$, is promoted to a coordinate of a new extended space-time. Consequently, we can construct a Field Theory in a space-time with spatial extra-dimensions. This new coordinate has a canonical momentum associated, where the effects of a new physics point of view can emerge in the fields propagation along the extra-dimension. In this paper we have introduced the gauge invariance in the DFR NC space-time by the composite symmetry $U^{\star}(N)\times U^{\star}(N)$. We have constructed the non-Abelian gauge symmetry based on DFR formalism, and we analyzed the consequences of this symmetry in the presence of such extra-dimensions. The gauge symmetry in this DFR scenario can reveal new gauge fields attached to $θ$-extra-dimension. As an application, we have accomplished the unification of Strong Interaction with the electromagnetism and a Higgs model to give masses to the NC bosons. We have estimated their masses by using some experimental constraints of QCD.

Gauge invariant actions for the noncommutative phase-space relativistic particle

Our main interest here is to analyze the gauge invariance issue concerning the noncommutative relativistic particle. Since the analysis of the constraint set from Dirac's point of view classifies it as a second-class system, it is not a gauge theory. Hence, the objective here is to obtain gauge invariant actions linked to the original one. However, we have two starting points, meaning that firstly we will begin directly from the original action and, using the Noether procedure, we have obtained a specific dual (gauge invariant) action. Following another path, we will act toward the constraints so that we have carried out the conversion of second to first-class constraints through the Batalin-Fradkin-Fradkina-Tyutin formalism, obtaining the second gauge invariant Lagrangian.

The standard electroweak model in the noncommutative $DFR$ space-time

The noncommutative (NC) framework elaborated by Doplicher, Fredenhagen and Roberts (DFR) has a Lorentz invariant spacetime structure in order to be considered as a candidate to understand the physics of the early Universe. In DFR formalism the NC parameter ($θ^{μν}$) is a coordinate operator in an extended Hilbert space and it has a conjugate momentum. Since $x$ and $θ^{μν}$ are independent coordinates, the Weyl-Moyal (WM) product can be used in this framework. With these elements, in this work, we have constructed the standard electroweak model. To accomplish this task we have begun with the WM-product basis group of symmetry. After that we have introduced the spontaneous symmetry breaking and the hypercharge in DFR framework. The electroweak symmetry breaking was analyzed and the masses of the new bosons were computed. Finally, the gauge symmetry and gauge transformations were discussed.

Entropic gravity from noncommutative black holes

In this paper we will investigate the effects of a noncommutative (NC) space-time on the dynamics of the universe. We will generalize the black hole entropy formula for a NC black hole. Then, using the entropic gravity formalism, we will show that the noncommutativity changes the strength of the gravitational field. By applying this result to a homogeneous and isotropic universe containing nonrelativistic matter and a cosmological constant, we will show that the model modified by the noncommutativity of the space-time is a better fit to the obtained data than the standard one.

A note on the relations between thermodynamics, energy definitions and Friedmann equations

In what follows, we investigate the relation between the Friedmann and thermodynamic pressure equations, through solving the Friedmann and thermodynamic pressure equations simultaneously. Our investigation shows that a perfect fluid, as a suitable solution for the Friedmann equations leading to the standard modelling of the universe expansion history, cannot simultaneously satisfy the thermodynamic pressure equation and those of Friedmann. Moreover, we consider various energy definitions, such as the Komar mass, and solve the Friedmann and thermodynamic pressure equations simultaneously to get some models for dark energy. The cosmological consequences of obtained solutions are also addressed. Our results indicate that some of obtained solutions may unify the dominated fluid in both the primary inflationary and current accelerating eras into one model. In addition, by taking into account a cosmic fluid of a known equation of state, and combining it with the Friedmann and thermodynamic pressure equations, we obtain the corresponding energy of these cosmic fluids and face their limitations. Finally, we point out the cosmological features of this cosmic fluid and also study its observational constraints.

Compressible Fluids with Maxwell-type equations, the minimal coupling with electromagnetic field and the Stefan-Boltzmann law

In this work we have obtained a higher-derivative Lagrangian for a charged fluid coupled with the electromagnetic fluid and the Dirac's constraints analysis was discussed. A set of first-class constraints fixed by noncovariant gauge condition was obtained. The path integral formalism was used to obtain the partition function for the corresponding higher-derivative Hamiltonian and the Faddeev-Popov ansatz was used to construct an effective Lagrangian. Through the partition function, a Stefan-Boltzmann type law was obtained.

New aspects of quantization of Jackiw-Pi model: field-antifield formalism and noncommutativity

The so-called Jackiw-Pi (JP) model for massive vector fields is a three dimensional, gauge invariant and parity preserving model which was discussed in several contexts. In this paper we have discussed its quantum aspects through the introduction of Planck scale objects, i.e., via noncommutativity and the well known BV quantization. Namely, we have constructed the JP noncommutative spacetime version and we have provided the BV quantization of the commutative JP model and we have discussed its features. The noncommutativity has introduced interesting new objects in JP's Planck scale framework.

Probing the cosmological viability of non-gaussian statistics

Based on the relationship between thermodynamics and gravity we propose, with the aid of Verlinde's formalism, an alternative interpretation of the dynamical evolution of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker Universe. This description takes into account the entropy and temperature intrinsic to the horizon of the universe due to the information holographically stored there through non-gaussian statistical theories proposed by Tsallis and Kaniadakis. The effect of these non-gaussian statistics in the cosmological context is change the strength of the gravitational constant. In this paper, we consider the $w$CDM model modified by the non-gaussian statistics and investigate the compatibility of these non-gaussian modification with the cosmological observations. In order to analyze in which extend the cosmological data constrain these non-extensive statistics, we use type Ia supernovae, baryon acoustic oscillations, Hubble expansion rate function and the linear growth of matter density perturbations data.

Faddeev-Jackiw analysis for the charged compressible fluid in a higher-derivative electromagnetic field background

In the present paper we will discuss the Faddeev-Jackiw symplectic approach in the analysis of a charged compressible fluid immersed in a higher-derivative electromagnetic field theory. We have obtained the full set of constraints directly from the zero-mode eigenvectors. Besides, we have computed the Dirac brackets for the dynamic variables of the compressible fluid. Finally, as a result of the coupling between the charged compressible fluid and the electromagnetic field we have calculated two Dirac brackets between the fluid and electromagnetic fields, which are both zero when there is no coupling between them.

Gauge-invariant extensions of the Proca model in a noncommutative space-time

The gauge invariance analysis of theories described in noncommutative (NC) space-times can lead us to interesting results since noncommutativity is one of the possible paths to investigate quantum effects in classical theories such as general relativity, for example. This theoretical possibility has motivated us to analyze the gauge invariance of the NC version of the Proca model, which is a second-class system, in Dirac's classification, since its classical formulation (commutative space-time) has its gauge invariance broken thanks to the mass term. To obtain such gauge invariant model, we have used the gauge unfixing method to construct a first-class NC version of the Proca model. We have also questioned if the gauge symmetries of NC theories, are affected necessarily or not by the NC parameter. In this way, we have calculated its respective symmetries in a standard way via Poisson brackets.
