Inverse scattering on the quantum graph -- Edge model for graphen

We consider the inverse scattering on the quantum graph associated with the hexagonal lattice. Assuming that the potentials on the edges are compactly supported, we show that the S-matrix for all energies in any open set in the continuous spectrum determines the potentials.

On continuous spectrum of magnetic Schrödinger operators on periodic discrete graphs

We consider Schrödinger operators with periodic electric and magnetic potentials on periodic discrete graphs. The spectrum of such operators consists of an absolutely continuous (a.c.) part (a union of a finite number of non-degenerate bands) and a finite number of eigenvalues of infinite multiplicity. We prove the following results: 1) the a.c. spectrum of the magnetic Schrödinger operators is empty for specific graphs and magnetic fields; 2) we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which the a.c. spectrum of the magnetic Schrödinger operators is empty; 3) the spectrum of the magnetic Schrödinger operator with each magnetic potential $tα$, where $t$ is a coupling constant, has an a.c. component for all except finitely many $t$ from any bounded interval.

Inverse resonance scattering for Dirac operators on the half-line

We consider massless Dirac operators on the half-line with compactly supported potentials. We solve the inverse problems in terms of Jost function and scattering matrix (including characterization). We study resonances as zeros of Jost function and prove that a potential is uniquely determined by its resonances. Moreover, we prove the following: 1) resonances are free parameters and a potential continuously depends on a resonance, 2) the forbidden domain for resonances is estimated, 3) asymptotics of resonance counting function is determined, 4) these results are applied to canonical systems.

Inverse resonance scattering for massless Dirac operators on the real line

We consider massless Dirac operators on the real line with compactly supported potentials. We solve two inverse problems (including characterization): in terms of zeros of reflection coefficient and in terms of poles of reflection coefficients (i.e. resonances). We prove that a potential is uniquely determined by zeros of reflection coefficients and there exist distinct potentials with the same resonances. We describe the set of "isoresonance potentials". Moreover, we prove the following: 1) a zero of the reflection coefficient can be arbitrarily shifted, such that we obtain the sequence of zeros of the reflection coefficient for an other compactly supported potential, 2) the forbidden domain for resonances is estimated, 3) asymptotics of resonances counting function is determined, 4) these results are applied to canonical systems.

Scattering on periodic metric graphs

We consider the Laplacian on a periodic metric graph and obtain its decomposition into a direct fiber integral in terms of the corresponding discrete Laplacian. Eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the fiber metric Laplacian are expressed explicitly in terms of eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the corresponding fiber discrete Laplacian and eigenfunctions of the Dirichlet problem on the unit interval. We show that all these eigenfunctions are uniformly bounded. We apply these results to the periodic metric Laplacian perturbed by real integrable potentials. We prove the following: a) the wave operators exist and are complete, b) the standard Fredholm determinant is well-defined and is analytic in the upper half-plane without any modification for any dimension, c) the determinant and the corresponding S-matrix satisfy the Birman-Krein identity.

Eigenvalues of Schrödinger operators on finite and infinite intervals

We consider a Sturm-Liouville operator a with integrable potential $q$ on the unit interval $I=[0,1]$. We consider a Schrödinger operator with a real compactly supported potential on the half line and on the line, where this potential coincides with $q$ on the unit interval and vanishes outside $I$. We determine the relationships between eigenvalues of such operators and obtain estimates of eigenvalues in terms of potentials.

Periodic Dirac operator with dislocation

We consider a Dirac operator with a dislocation potential on the real line. The dislocation potential is a fixed periodic potential on the negative half-line and the same potential but shifted by real parameter $t$ on the positive half-line. Its spectrum has an absolutely continuous part (the union of bands separated by gaps) plus at most two eigenvalues in each non-empty gap. Its resolvent admits a meromorphic continuation onto a two-sheeted Riemann surface. We prove that it has only two simple poles on each open gap: on the first sheet (an eigenvalue) or on the second sheet (a resonance). These poles are called states and there are no other poles. We prove: 1) each state is a continuous function of $t$, and we obtain its local asymptotic; 2) for each $t$ states in the gap are distinct; 3) in general, a state is non-monotone function of $t$ but it can be monotone for specific potentials; 4) we construct examples of operators, which have: a) one eigenvalue and one resonance in any finite number of gaps; b) two eigenvalues or two resonances in any finite number of gaps; c) two static virtual states in one gap.

1D Schrödinger operators with complex potentials

We consider a Schrödinger operator with complex-valued potentials on the line. The operator has essential spectrum on the half-line plus eigenvalues (counted with algebraic multiplicity) in the complex plane without the positive half-line. We determine series of trace formulas. Here we have the new term: a singular measure, which is absent for real potentials. Moreover, we estimate of sum of Im part of eigenvalues plus singular measure in terms of the norm of potentials. The proof is based on classical results about the Hardy spaces.

Eigenvalues of periodic difference operators on lattice octant

Consider a difference operator $H$ with periodic coefficients on the octant of the lattice. We show that for any integer $N$ and any bounded interval $I$, there exists an operator $H$ having $N$ eigenvalues, counted with multiplicity on this interval, and does not exist other spectra on the interval. Also right and to the left of it are spectra and the corresponding subspaces have an infinite dimension. Moreover, we prove similar results for other domains and any dimension. The proof is based on the inverse spectral theory for periodic Jacobi operators.

Inverse resonance scattering for on rotationally symmetric manifolds

We discuss inverse resonance scattering for the Laplacian on a rotationally symmetric manifold $M = (0,\infty) \times Y$ whose rotation radius is constant outside some compact interval. The Laplacian on $M$ is unitarily equivalent to a direct sum of one-dimensional Schrödinger operators with compactly supported potentials on the half-line. We prove o Asymptotics of counting function of resonances at large radius o Inverse problem: The rotation radius is uniquely determined by its eigenvalues and resonances. Moreover, there exists an algorithm to recover the rotation radius from its eigenvalues and resonances. The proof is based on some non-linear real analytic isomorphism between two Hilbert spaces.

Asymptotics and estimates of the discrete spectrum of the Schrodinger operator on a discrete periodic graph

The periodic Schrodinger operator $ H $ on a discrete periodic graph is considered. We estimate the discrete spectrum of the perturbed operator $ H _ {-} (t) = H-tV $, $ t> 0 $, where the potential $ V \ ge 0 $ is decreasing and $t>0$ is the coupling constant. If the potential has a power asymptotics at infinity, then we obtain asymptotics of the discrete spectrum of operator $ H_ {-} (t) $ with a large coupling constant.

Periodic Dirac operator on the half-line

We consider the Dirac operator with a periodic potential on the half-line with the Dirichlet boundary condition at zero. Its spectrum consists of an absolutely continuous part plus at most one eigenvalue in each open gap. The Dirac resolvent admits a meromorphic continuation onto a two-sheeted Riemann surface with a unique simple pole on each open gap: on the first sheet (an eigenvalue) or on the second sheet (a resonance). These poles are called states and there are no other poles. If the potential is shifted by real parameter t, then the continuous spectrum does not change but the states can change theirs positions. We prove that each state is smooth and in general, non-monotonic function of t. We prove that a state is a strictly monotone function of t for a specific potential. Using these results we obtain formulas to recover potentials of special forms.

Third order operators with three-point conditions associated with Boussinesq's equation

We consider a non-self-adjoint third order operator on the interval $[0,2]$ with real 1-periodic coefficients and three-point Dirichlet conditions at the points 0, 1 and 2. The eigenvalues of this operator consist an auxiliary spectrum for the inverse spectral problem associated with the good Boussinesq equation. We determine eigenvalue asymptotics at high energy and the trace formula for the operator.

Trace formulas for Schrödinger operators with complex potentials on half-line

We consider Schrödinger operators with complex-valued decreasing potentials on the half-line. Such operator has essential spectrum on the half-line plus eigenvalues (counted with algebraic multiplicity) in the complex plane without the positive half-line. We determine trace formula: sum of Im part of these eigenvalues plus some singular measure plus some integral from the Jost function. Moreover, we estimate of sum of Im part of eigenvalues and singular measure in terms of the norm of potentials. In addition, we get bounds on the total number of eigenvalues, when the potential is compactly supported.

Invariants of magnetic Laplacians on periodic graphs

We consider a magnetic Laplacian with periodic magnetic potentials on periodic discrete graphs. Its spectrum consists of a finite number of bands, where degenerate bands are eigenvalues of infinite multiplicity. We obtain a specific decomposition of the magnetic Laplacian into a direct integral in terms of minimal forms. A minimal form is a periodic function defined on edges of the periodic graph with a minimal support on the period. It is crucial that fiber magnetic Laplacians (matrices) have the minimal number of coefficients depending on the quasimomentum and the minimal number of coefficients depending on the magnetic potential. We show that these numbers are invariants for the magnetic Laplacians on periodic graphs. Using this decomposition, we estimate the position of each band, the Lebesgue measure of the magnetic Laplacian spectrum and a variation of the spectrum under a perturbation by a magnetic field in terms of these invariants and minimal forms. In addition, we consider an inverse problem: we determine necessary and sufficient conditions for matrices depending on the quasimomentum on a finite graph to be fiber magnetic Laplacians. Moreover, similar results for magnetic Schrödinger operators with periodic potentials are obtained.

Trace formulas for Schrödinger operators with complex potentials

We consider 3-dim Schrödinger operators with a complex potential. We obtain new trace formulas. In order to prove these results we study analytic properties of a modified Fredholm determinant. In fact we reformulate spectral theory problems as the problems of analytic functions from Hardy spaces in upper half-plane.

Schrödinger operators periodic in octants

We consider Schrödinger operators with periodic potentials in the positive quadrant for dim $>1$ with Dirichlet boundary condition. We show that for any integer $N$ and any interval $I$ there exists a periodic potential such that the Schrödinger operator has $N$ eigenvalues counted with the multiplicity on this interval and there is no other spectrum on the interval. Furthermore, to the right and to the left of it there is a essential spectrum. Moreover, we prove similar results for Schrödinger operators for other domains. The proof is based on the inverse spectral theory for Hill operators on the real line.
