Intelligent Perception Assisted Light Modulation for real-time and program-free nanofabrication and particle manipulation

In this paper, we present an Intelligent Perception-Assisted Light Modulation (IPALM) technique, for femtosecond laser nanofabrication and particle manipulation. IPALM technique integrates real-time hand-motion recognition with dynamic spatial light modulation to achieve programming-free laser beam control. In contrast to the conventional programmed laser fabrication techniques which need setup a project prior to fabrication, IPALM offers a direct "mind-to-matter" pathway for laser nanostructuring and biological cells handling with high flexibility and multiple degree of freedom. In nanofabrication, IPALM provides high resolution with feature dimensions down to 280 nm. By mind-driven hand gesture control, the laser beam is regulated to enable direct writing of micro/nanostructures with a minimum feature size down to 280 nm via IPALM. In precise particle manipulation, multiple cells can be simultaneously moved to achieve cell coalescence. With these examples, IPALM showcases its potential for applications in photonics, biomedicine, and microfluidics, for high-dimension and flexible laser applications.

Quantifying Social Inflation in Liability Insurance with Advanced Statistical Methods

Social inflation, which is the rise in liability claim costs beyond general economic inflation, has become a major concern for insurers and reinsurers, yet it is difficult to quantify because litigation outcomes are heavy-tailed and the mix of cases reaching verdict versus settlement changes over time. Using a large database of US jury verdicts and settlements, we develop case-mix-adjusted social inflation measures through multiple channels that matter to reinsurers: plaintiff win rates (a frequency-type channel), settlement propensity (a frequency-type channel), and verdict/settlement severity. The approach combines rolling-window logistic regression for probabilities and quantile (value-at-risk) regression for severities, with uncertainty quantified via a random-weighted bootstrap. We find statistically significant relative increases in plaintiff win probability of approximately 20%-30% from 2009 to 2024, alongside a statistically significant relative decline in settlement probability of more than 10% over the same period. The dominant channel is verdict severity: Even after controlling for explanatory variables, verdict awards show a sharp rise after 2020, increasing by more than 100% from 2020 to 2024, whereas settlement amounts show limited and often statistically insignificant inflation. Therefore, inflation in total amounts payable to plaintiffs closely tracks verdict severity. Social inflation is more pronounced in corporate-defendant and uninsured-defendant cases and in states without tort caps or third-party litigation funding regulation. In addition, we find that social inflation has impacts not only on "nuclear verdicts" but also, in a similar manner, on moderate losses.

Fusing Urban Structure and Semantics: A Conditional Diffusion Model for Cross-City OD Matrix Generation

Accurate modeling of commuting flows is important for urban governance, traffic planning, and resource allocation. However, the combined influence of individual intentions, geographic constraints, and social dynamics leads to considerable heterogeneity in commuting patterns, making it difficult to develop generation models that generalize across cities. To address this issue, we propose SEDAN, a Structure-Enhanced Diffusion model conditioned on Attributed Nodes for generalizable OD matrix generation. SEDAN models a city as an attributed graph. Each region is treated as a node with demographic and point-of-interest features, and commuting flows are modeled as weighted edges. Adjacency and distance matrices are incorporated to characterize spatial structure. Based on this representation, we design a fusion mechanism within SEDAN to jointly model semantic information and spatial information. Regional semantic attributes are used to model latent travel demand through graph-transformer-based node interactions, while spatial structure is injected into the generation process as explicit constraints. The adjacency matrix guides attention weights to strengthen interactions between neighboring regions. Meanwhile, the distance matrix serves as a diffusion condition to capture spatial proximity and travel impedance. The fusion of urban semantics and spatial constraints enables SEDAN to generate OD matrices that are both behaviorally plausible and geographically coherent. Experiments on real-world OD datasets from U.S. cities show that SEDAN achieves a 7.38\% improvement in RMSE over the state-of-the-art baseline, WEDAN. It also remains robust across heterogeneous urban scenarios and varying structural patterns. Our work provides an effective and generalizable solution for commuting OD matrix generation. The code is available at https://anonymous.4open.science/r/SEDAN.

KLR-Schur algebra of coherent sheaves on the projective line: Tilting and PBW bases

We begin the study of Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier type algebras associated to moduli stacks of coherent sheaves on smooth projective curves. We consider the case of $\mathbb{P}^1$ and define, for any pair $(r,d)$ of a rank and a degree, the KLR and Schur algebras $A_{r,d}, \mathcal{R}_{r,d}$ as suitable convolution algebras in the Borel-Moore homology of an analog of the Steinberg stack built from the stacks $Coh_{r,d}(\mathbb{P}^1)$. We use the tilting equivalence and Bridgeland stability conditions to construct an interpolation between the KLR or Schur algebras of the categories of coherent sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^1$ and the KLR or Schur algebras of the categories of representations of the Kronecker quiver. We also introduce a stratification of the Steinberg stacks into cohomologically pure pieces and use this to construct a PBW basis of the corresponding algebra.

Degenerations in graded quiver varieties and in derived categories of Dynkin quivers

For any acyclic quiver, Keller-Scherotzke provided a stratifying functor from the category of finite-dimensional modules of the singular Nakajima category to the derived category of the quiver. Under this functor, a degeneration of strata of a graded quiver variety corresponds to a degeneration, in the sense of Jensen-Su-Zimmermann, in the derived category. In this article, for any Dynkin quiver, we further investigate Jensen-Su-Zimmermann's partial order and show that any degeneration of objects in the derived category can be obtained in this way.

Delay-Aware Task Offloading for Heterogeneous VLC-RF-based Vehicular Fog Computing

Vehicular fog computing (VFC) is a promising paradigm for reducing the computation burden of vehicles, thus supporting delay-sensitive services in next-generation transportation networks. However, traditional VFC schemes rely on radio frequency (RF) communications, which limits their adaptability for dense vehicular environments. In this paper, a heterogeneous visible light communication (VLC)-RF architecture is designed for VFC systems to facilitate efficient task offloading. Specifically, computing tasks are dynamically partitioned and offloaded to idle vehicles via both VLC and RF links, thereby fully exploiting the interference resilience of VLC and the coverage advantage of RF. To minimize the average task processing delay (TPD), an optimization problem of task offloading and computing resource allocation is formulated, and then solved by the developed residual-based majorization-minimization (RBMM) algorithm. Simulation results confirm that the heterogeneous VLC-RF architecture with the proposed algorithm achieves a 15% average TPD reduction compared to VFC systems relying solely on VLC or RF.

Emergent Chiral Spin Crystal Phase in (111) SrRuO3 Thin Films

Perovskite ruthenates are fascinating playgrounds for exploring topological spin textures, but generally rely on extrinsic mechanisms to trigger the noncoplanar states. Here we report the discovery of an emergent chiral spin crystal phase in (111) SrRuO3 epitaxial films, characterized by a significant topological Hall effect and noncoplanar spin arrangements with different propagation vectors along two orthogonal directions. Instead of driven by the enhanced Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction due to broken inversion symmetry at heterointerfaces, this emergent state arises intrinsically from the interplay of dipolar interactions and magnetic frustration, leading to the stabilization of topological phases in much thicker films. These findings open a new pathway for creating and controlling the topological spin states in perovskites, with broad implications for spintronic device design.

From Ferromagnet to Antiferromagnet: Dimensional Crossover in (111) SrRuO3 Ultrathin Films

SrRuO3 is a canonical itinerant ferromagnet, yet its properties in the extreme two-dimensional limit on a (111) crystal plane remain largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate a complete transformation of its ground state driven by dimensional reduction. As the thickness of (111)-oriented SrRuO3 films is reduced to a few unit cells, the system transitions from a metallic ferromagnet to a semiconducting antiferromagnet. This emergent antiferromagnetism is evidenced by a vanishing magnetic remanence and most strikingly, by the appearance of an unconventional twelve-fold anisotropic magnetoresistance. First-principles calculations confirm that an A-type antiferromagnetic order is the stable ground state in the ultrathin limit. Our findings establish (111) dimensional engineering as a powerful route to manipulate correlated electron states and uncover novel functionalities for antiferromagnetic spintronics.

Channel Capacity for FMCW-based Optical Wireless Integrated Sensing and Communication: Asymptotic Analysis and Envelope Design

Optical wireless integrated sensing and communication (OW-ISAC) is rapidly burgeoning as a complement and augmentation to its radio-frequency counterpart. In this paper, the channel capacity is analyzed to guide the design of a coherent OW-ISAC system based on frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW). Firstly, the system model of FMCW-based OW-ISAC is recast into an information-theoretic formulation, where an additional harmonic-mean constraint is imposed to ensure the sensing performance. Subsequently, both lower and upper bounds for channel capacity are derived under the imposed sensing constraint, based on which asymptotic expressions for channel capacity are presented for both low and high signal-to-noise-ratio regions. Moreover, the analysis of channel capacity provides guidance for the envelope design based on pulse amplitude modulation, whose capacity-achieving capabilities are demonstrated by numerical results. Furthermore, simulations reveal the trade-off between communication and sensing functionalities. In summary, the analysis of channel capacity under the sensing constraint provides insights into both the optimality and the practicality of OW-ISAC design.

Hunyuan3D 2.5: Towards High-Fidelity 3D Assets Generation with Ultimate Details

In this report, we present Hunyuan3D 2.5, a robust suite of 3D diffusion models aimed at generating high-fidelity and detailed textured 3D assets. Hunyuan3D 2.5 follows two-stages pipeline of its previous version Hunyuan3D 2.0, while demonstrating substantial advancements in both shape and texture generation. In terms of shape generation, we introduce a new shape foundation model -- LATTICE, which is trained with scaled high-quality datasets, model-size, and compute. Our largest model reaches 10B parameters and generates sharp and detailed 3D shape with precise image-3D following while keeping mesh surface clean and smooth, significantly closing the gap between generated and handcrafted 3D shapes. In terms of texture generation, it is upgraded with phyiscal-based rendering (PBR) via a novel multi-view architecture extended from Hunyuan3D 2.0 Paint model. Our extensive evaluation shows that Hunyuan3D 2.5 significantly outperforms previous methods in both shape and end-to-end texture generation.

Ferromagnetic Two-dimensional Electron Gases with Magnetic Doping and Proximity Effects

The advent of magnetic two-dimensional electron gases (2DEGs) at oxide interfaces has provided new opportunities in the field of spintronics. The enhancement of magnetism in 2DEGs at oxide interfaces continues to be a significant challenge, as exemplified by the relatively weak magnetism observed in the classical LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface. Here, we present ferromagnetic (FM) 2DEGs at the interface fabricated between the FM insulator EuTiO3 (ETO) and the strong spin-orbit coupled (SOC) perovskite insulator KTaO3 (KTO). With the combined effects of magnetic atom doping and magnetic proximity from ETO films, the coercive field of 2DEGs can be significantly enhanced. Magnetoresistance (MR) curve with a high coercive field of 1000 Oe has been observed, in conjunction with a temperature-dependent unambiguous hysteresis loop in the anomalous Hall effect (AHE). Furthermore, within the 2DEGs, we have identified a synergetic interplay between magnetic scattering and the weak antilocalization (WAL) effect on transport. This study provides fresh insights into the formation of FM 2DEGs at ETO/KTO interfaces, and introduce an innovative pathway for creating high-performance magnetic 2DEGs at oxide interfaces.

Complete suppression of flux instabilities in ramped superconducting magnets with synchronous temperature-modulated Jc

Nonlinear multi-field coupling as an intrinsic property of complex physical systems often leads to abrupt and undesired instabilities. For current-ramped high-field Nb3Sn magnets, frequent flux jumps are observed, which easily causes premature quenches and requires prolonged and resource-intensive magnet training process. In this study, we propose a paradigm-shifting methodology framework that achieves complete suppression of thermomagnetic instabilities through synchronized temperature-modulated critical current density (Jc). Through numerical simulations of flux jumps in multifilamentary Nb3Sn wires at various temperatures, we construct thermomagnetic stability diagram in the Ha-T plane. The simulated results are in good agreement with experiments, confirming that the synchronized temperature ramp-down can fully eliminate flux jumps. We reveal the underlying mechanism of enhancing the thermomagnetic stability arises from that synchronized temperature ramp-down can continuously tune both Jc and its slope. Furthermore, we explore the thermomagnetic instabilities of current-ramped superconducting magnets through large-scale GPU-optimized algorithm. The flux jump and quench diagram in the Ia-T plane are obtained. It indicates that the temperature ramp-down can completely suppress flux jumps without compromising Jc at high magnetic fields. Importantly, this method does not require modifications to the superconducting microstructures or fabrication process, offering a practical and broadly applicable solution. The findings not only provide a robust method for stabilizing various superconducting magnet systems, including high-temperature superconducting magnets wound with second-generated (2G) coated tapes, but also suggest a generalizable strategy for controlling instability in other nonlinear non-equilibrium physical systems.

HunyuanVideo: A Systematic Framework For Large Video Generative Models

Recent advancements in video generation have significantly impacted daily life for both individuals and industries. However, the leading video generation models remain closed-source, resulting in a notable performance gap between industry capabilities and those available to the public. In this report, we introduce HunyuanVideo, an innovative open-source video foundation model that demonstrates performance in video generation comparable to, or even surpassing, that of leading closed-source models. HunyuanVideo encompasses a comprehensive framework that integrates several key elements, including data curation, advanced architectural design, progressive model scaling and training, and an efficient infrastructure tailored for large-scale model training and inference. As a result, we successfully trained a video generative model with over 13 billion parameters, making it the largest among all open-source models. We conducted extensive experiments and implemented a series of targeted designs to ensure high visual quality, motion dynamics, text-video alignment, and advanced filming techniques. According to evaluations by professionals, HunyuanVideo outperforms previous state-of-the-art models, including Runway Gen-3, Luma 1.6, and three top-performing Chinese video generative models. By releasing the code for the foundation model and its applications, we aim to bridge the gap between closed-source and open-source communities. This initiative will empower individuals within the community to experiment with their ideas, fostering a more dynamic and vibrant video generation ecosystem. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/Tencent/HunyuanVideo.

Path Loss Modeling for NLoS Ultraviolet Channels Incorporating Scattering and Reflection Effects

This paper tackles limitations in existing non-line-of-sight (NLoS) ultraviolet (UV) channel models, where conventional approaches assume obstacle-free propagation or uniform radiation intensity. In this paper, we develop a path loss model incorporating scattering and reflection, and then propose an obstacle-boundary approximation method to achieve computational tractability. Our framework systematically incorporates spatial obstacle properties, including dimensions, coordinates, contours, and orientation angles, while employing the Lambertian radiation pattern for source modeling. Additionally, the proposed path loss model is validated by comparing it with the Monte-Carlo photon-tracing model and analytical integral model via numerical results, which indicate that when obstacle reflection is prominent, an approximation treatment of obstacle boundaries has a negligible influence on the path loss estimation of NLoS UV communication channels.

Modeling of UV NLoS Communication Channels: From Atmospheric Scattering and Obstacle Reflection Perspectives

As transceiver elevation angles increase from small to large, existing ultraviolet (UV) non-line-of-sight (NLoS) models encounter two challenges: i) cannot estimate the channel characteristics of UV NLoS communication scenarios when there exists an obstacle in the overlap volume between the transmitter beam and the receiver field-of-view (FoV), and ii) cannot evaluate the channel path loss for the wide beam and wide FoV scenarios with existing simplified single-scattering path loss models. To address these challenges, a UV NLoS scattering model incorporating an obstacle was investigated, where the obstacle's orientation angle, coordinates, and geometric dimensions were taken into account to approach actual application environments. Then, a UV NLoS reflection model was developed combined with specific geometric diagrams. Further, a simplified single-scattering path loss model was proposed with a closed-form expression. Finally, the proposed models were validated by comparing them with the Monte-Carlo photon-tracing model, the exact single-scattering model, and the latest simplified single-scattering model. Numerical results show that the path loss curves obtained by the proposed models agree well with those attained by related NLoS models under identical parameter settings, and avoiding obstacles is not always a good option for UV NLoS communications. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed simplified model is superior to that of the existing simplified model for all kinds of transceiver FoV angles.

Channel Modeling for Ultraviolet Non-Line-of-Sight Communications Incorporating an Obstacle

Existing studies on ultraviolet (UV) non-line-of-sight (NLoS) channel modeling primarily focus on scenarios without any obstacle, which makes them unsuitable for small transceiver elevation angles in most cases. To address this issue, a UV NLoS channel model incorporating an obstacle was investigated in this paper, where the impacts of atmospheric scattering and obstacle reflection on UV signals were both taken into account. To validate the proposed model, we compared it to the related Monte-Carlo photon-tracing (MCPT) model that had been verified by outdoor experiments. Numerical results manifest that the path loss curves obtained by the proposed model agree well with those determined by the MCPT model, while its computation complexity is lower than that of the MCPT model. This work discloses that obstacle reflection can effectively reduce the channel path loss of UV NLoS communication systems.
