Cosmic Time Transformations in Cosmological Relativity

The relativity of cosmic time is developed within the framework of Cosmological Relativity in five dimensions of space, time and velocity. A general linearized metric element is defined to have the form $ds^2 = (1+ϕ) c^2 dt^2 - dr^2 + (1+ψ) τ^2 dv^2$, where the coordinates are time $t$, radial distance $r=\sqrt{x^2 + y^2 + z^2}$ for spatials $x$, $y$ and $z$, and velocity $v$, with $c$ the speed of light in vacuum and $τ$ the Hubble-Carmeli time constant. The metric is accurate to first order in $t/τ$ and $v/c$. The fields $ϕ$ and $ψ$ are general functions of the coordinates. By showing that $ϕ= ψ$, a metric of the form $ds^2 = c^2 dt^2 - dr^2 + τ^2 dv^2$ is obtained from the general metric, implying that the universe is flat. For cosmological redshift $z$, the luminosity distance relation $D_L (z,t) = r (1 + z) / \sqrt{1 - t^2 / τ^2}$ is used to fit combined distance moduli from Type Ia Supernovae up to $z < 1.5$ and Gamma-Ray Bursts up to $z < 7$, from which a value of $Ω_M = 0.800 \pm 0.080$ is obtained for the matter density parameter at the present epoch. Assuming a baryon density of $Ω_B = 0.038 \pm 0.004$, a rest mass energy of $( 9.79 \pm 0.47 ) \, {\rm GeV}$ is predicted for the anti-baryonic $\bar{Y}$ and the $Φ^{*}$ particles which decay from a hypothetical $\bar{X}_1$ particle. The cosmic aging function $g_1(z,t)= ( 1 + z) ( 1 - t^2 / τ^2 )$ makes good fits to light curve data from two reports of Type 1a supernovae and in fitting to simulated quasar like light curve power spectra separated by redshift $Δ{z} \approx 1$. We determine the multipole of the first acoustic peak of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation anisotropy to be $l \approx 224 \pm 5$ and a sound horizon of $θ_{sh0} \approx (0.805 \pm 0.020 ) {}^{\circ}$ on today's sky.

Cosmological General Relativity With Scale Factor and Dark Energy

In this paper the four-dimensional space-velocity Cosmological General Relativity of Carmeli is developed by a general solution to the Einstein field equations. The metric is given in the Tolman form and the vacuum mass density is included in the energy-momentum tensor. The scale factor redshift equation is obtained, forming the basis for deriving the various redshift-distance relations of cosmological analysis. A linear equation of state dependent on the scale factor is assumed to account for the effects of an evolving dark energy in the expansion of the universe. Modeling simulations are provided for a few combinations of mass density, vacuum density and state parameter values over a sample of high redshift SNe Ia data. Also, the Carmeli cosmological model is derived as a special case of the general solution.

Particle Pair Production in Cosmological General Relativity

The Cosmological General Relativity (CGR) of Carmeli, a 5-dimensional (5-D) theory of time, space and velocity, predicts the existence of an acceleration a_0 = c / tau due to the expansion of the universe, where c is the speed of light in vacuum, tau = 1 / h is the Hubble-Carmeli time constant, where h is the Hubble constant at zero distance and no gravity. The Carmeli force on a particle of mass m is F_c = m a_0, a fifth force in nature. In CGR, the effective mass density rho_eff = rho - rho_c, where rho is the matter density and rho_c is the critical mass density which we identify with the vacuum mass density rho_vac = -rho_c. The fields resulting from the weak field solution of the Einstein field equations in 5-D CGR and the Carmeli force are used to hypothesize the production of a pair of particles. The mass of each particle is found to be m = tau c^3 / 4 G, where G is Newton's constant. The vacuum mass density derived from the physics is rho_vac = -rho_c = -3 / (8 pi G tau^2). The cosmic microwave background (CMB) black body radiation at the temperature T_o = 2.72548 K which fills that volume is found to have a relationship to the ionization energy of the Hydrogen atom. Define the radiation energy epsilon_gamma = (1 - g) m c^2 / N_gamma, where (1-g) is the fraction of the initial energy m c^2 which converts to photons, g is a function of the baryon density parameter Omega_b and N_gamma is the total number of photons in the CMB radiation field. We make the connection with the ionization energy of the first quantum level of the Hydrogen atom by the hypothesis epsilon_gamma = [(1 - g) m c^2] / N_gamma = alpha^2 mu c^2 / 2, where alpha is the fine-structure constant and mu = m_p f / (1 + f), where f= m_e / m_p with m_e the electron mass and m_p the proton mass.

Is the pioneer anomaly a counter example to the dark matter hypothesis?

The Hubble law is extended to massive particles based on the de Broglie wavelength. Due to the expansion of the universe the wavelength of an unbound particle would increase according to its cosmological redshift. Based on the navigation anomalies of the Pioneer 10 & 11 spacecraft it is postulated that an unbound massive particle has a cosmological redshift z = (c / v_0) H_0 t, where c is the speed of light in vacuum, v_0 is the initial velocity of the particle, H_0 is Hubble's constant and t is the duration of time that the particle has been unbound. The increase in wavelength of the particle corresponds to a decrease in its speed by delta_v = - c H_0 t. Furthermore, it is hypothesized that the solar system has escaped the gravity of the Galaxy as evidenced by its orbital speed and radial distance and by the visible mass within the solar system radius. This means that spacecraft which become unbound to the solar system would also be galactically unbound and subject to the Hubble law. This hypothesis and the extended Hubble law may explain the anomalous acceleration found to be acting upon the unbound Pioneer 10 & 11 spacecraft. Thus, the Pioneer anomaly may be a counter example to the dark matter hypothesis. Because photons have a speed which make them unbound to the Galaxy, it is predicted that the navigation beam in open space would undergo a cosmological redshift in its frequency which would be detectable with modern clocks.

Testing Cosmological General Relativity against high redshift observations

Several key relations are derived for Cosmological General Relativity which are used in standard observational cosmology. These include the luminosity distance, angular size, surface brightness and matter density. These relations are used to fit type Ia supernova (SNe Ia) data, giving consistent, well behaved fits over a broad range of redshift $0.1 < z < 2$. The best fit to the data for the local density parameter is $Ω_{m} = 0.0401 \pm 0.0199$. Because $Ω_{m}$ is within the baryonic budget there is no need for any dark matter to account for the SNe Ia redshift luminosity data. From this local density it is determined that the redshift where the universe expansion transitions from deceleration to acceleration is $z_{t}= 1.095 {}^{+0.264}_{-0.155}$. Because the fitted data covers the range of the predicted transition redshift $z_{t}$, there is no need for any dark energy to account for the expansion rate transition. We conclude that the expansion is now accelerating and that the transition from a closed to an open universe occurred about $8.54 {\rm Gyr}$ ago.

Quantized Intrinsic Redshift in Cosmological General Relativity

There are now several analyses reporting quantized differences in the redshifts between pairs of galaxies. In the simplest cases, these differential redshifts are found to be harmonics of fundamental periods of approximately 72 km/s and 37.5 km/s. In this paper a wave equation is derived based on cosmological general relativity, which is a space-velocity theory of the expanding Universe. The wave equation is approximated to first order and comparisons are made between the quantized solutions and the reported observations.

The Cosmic Time in Terms of the Redshift

In cosmology one labels the time t since the Big Bang in terms of the redshift of light emitted at t, as we see it now. In this Note we derive a formula that relates t to z which is valid for all redshifts. One can go back in time as far as one wishes, but not to the Big Bang at which the redshift tends to infinity.
