Spectral Theorem for quaternionic normal operators: Multiplication form

Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a right quaternionic Hilbert space and let $T$ be a quaternionic normal operator with the domain $\mathcal{D}(T) \subset \mathcal{H}$. Then for a fixed unit imaginary quaternion $m$, there exists a Hilbert basis $\mathcal{N}_{m}$ of $\mathcal{H}$, a measure space $(Ω, μ)$, a unitary operator $U \colon \mathcal{H} \to L^{2}(Ω; \mathbb{H}; μ)$ and a $μ$ - measurable function $ϕ\colon Ω\to \mathbb{C}_m$ (here $\mathbb{C}_{m} = \{α+ m β; \;α, β\in \mathbb{R}\}$) such that \[ Tx = U^{*}M_ϕUx, \; \mbox{for all}\; x\in \mathcal{D}(T), \] where $M_ϕ$ is the multiplication operator on $L^{2}(Ω; \mathbb{H}; μ)$ induced by $ϕ$ with $ U(\mathcal{D}(T)) \subseteq \mathcal{D}(M_ϕ)$. In the process, we prove that every complex Hilbert space is a slice Hilbert space. We establish these results by reducing it to the complex case then lift it to the quaternionic case.

On the denseness of minimum attaining operators

Let $H_1,H_2$ be complex Hilbert spaces and $T$ be a densely defined closed linear operator (not necessarily bounded). It is proved that for each $ε>0$, there exists a bounded operator $S$ with $\|S\|\leq ε$ such that $T+S$ is minimum attaining. Further, if $T$ is bounded below, then $S$ can be chosen to be rank one.

Bianchi Type-III Dark Energy Model in f(R,T) gravity with a variable Deceleration parameter

In this paper, we have investigated Bianchi Type-III Dark Energy Model in f(R,T) theory of gravity proposed by Harko et al. (Phys. Rev. D84 : 024020, 2011). To find a determinate solution of the field equations we have used (i) the fact that scalar expansion of the space-time is proportional to the shear scalar and (ii) a variable deceleration parameter given by Mishra et al. (Int. J. Theor. Phys. 52: 2546, 2013). Physical and kinematical properties of the model are also discussed. It is observed that our model is in agreement with the recent cosmological observations.

On the polar decomposition of right linear operators in quaternionic Hilbert spaces

In this article we prove the existence of the polar decomposition for densely defined closed right linear operators in quaternionic Hilbert spaces: If $T$ is a densely defined closed right linear operator in a quaternionic Hilbert space $H$, then there exists a partial isometry $U_{0}$ such that $T = U_{0}|T|$. In fact $U_{0}$ is unique if $N(U_{0}) = N(T)$. In particular, if $H$ is separable and $U$ is a partial isometry with $T = U|T|$, then we prove that $U = U_{0}$ if and only if either $N(T) = \{0\}$ or $R(T)^{\bot} = \{0\}$.

Weyl-von Neumann-Berg theorem for quaternionic operators

We prove the Weyl-von Neumann-Berg theorem for quaternionic right linear operators (not necessarily bounded) in a quaternionic Hilbert space: Let $N$ be a right linear normal (need not be bounded) operator in a quaternionic separable Hilbert space $H$. Then for a given $ε>0$ there exists a compact operator $K$ with $\|K\|<ε$ and a diagonal operator $D$ on $H$ such that $N=D+K$.

Perturbation of closed range operators and Moore-Penrose inverse

Let $H_1,H_2$ be complex Hilbert spaces and $T:H_1\rightarrow H_2$ be a densely defined closed operator with domain $D(T)\subseteq H_1$ and $T^{\dagger}$ be the Moore-Penrose inverse of $T$. Let $S:H_1\rightarrow H_2$ be a bounded operator. In this article we focus our attention on the following questions: $1.$ Under what conditions closedness of range of $T$ will imply the closedness of range of $T+S$? $2.$ What is the relation between $T^{\dagger}$ and $(T+S)^{\dagger}$? $3.$ What is the relation between $T^{\dagger}$ and $S^{\dagger}$?.

Non negative Moore-Penrose Iinverses of Unbounded Gram Operators

In this paper we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the nonnegativity of Moore-Penrose inverses of unbounded Gram operators between real Hilbert spaces. These conditions include statements on acuteness of certain closed convex cones. The main result generalizes the existing result for bounded operators [11, Theorem 3.6].

Stinespring's theorem for maps on Hilbert C*-modules

We strengthen Mohammad B. Asadi's analogue of Stinespring's theorem for certain maps on Hilbert C*-modules. We also show that any two minimal Stinespring representations are unitarily equivalent. We illustrate the main theorem with an example.

A Reliable and Fault Tolerant Routing for Optical WDM Networks

In optical WDM networks, since each lightpath can carry a huge mount of traffic, failures may seriously damage the end user applications. Hence fault tolerance becomes an important issue on these networks. The light path which carries traffic during normal operation is called as primary path. The traffic is rerouted on a backup path in case of a failure. In this paper we propose to design a reliable and fault tolerant routing algorithm for establishing primary and backup paths. In order to establish the primary path, this algorithm uses load balancing in which link cost metrics are estimated based on the current load of the links. In backup path setup, the source calculates the blocking probability through the received feedback from the destination by sending a small fraction of probe packets along the existing paths. It then selects the optimal light path with the lowest blocking probability. Based on the simulation results, we show that the reliable and fault tolerant routing algorithm reduces the blocking probability and latency while increasing the throughput and channel utilization.
