Solutions of the Painleve VI Equation from Reduction of Integrable Hierarchy in a Grassmannian Approach

We present an explicit method to perform similarity reduction of a Riemann-Hilbert factorization problem for a homogeneous GL (N, C) loop group and use our results to find solutions to the Painleve VI equation for N=3. The tau function of the reduced hierarchy is shown to satisfy the sigma-form of the Painleve VI equation. A class of tau functions of the reduced integrable hierarchy is constructed by means of a Grassmannian formulation. These solutions provide rational solutions of the Painleve VI equation.

A Class of Soliton Solutions for the N=2 Super mKdV/Sinh-Gordon Hierarchy

Employing the Hirota's method, a class of soliton solutions for the N=2 super mKdV equations is proposed in terms of a single Grassmann parameter. Such solutions are shown to satisfy two copies of N=1 supersymmetric mKdV equations connected by nontrivial algebraic identities. Using the super Miura transformation, we obtain solutions of the N=2 super KdV equations. These are shown to generalize solutions derived previously. By using the mKdV/sinh-Gordon hierarchy properties we generate the solutions of the N=2 super sinh-Gordon as well.

Deformations of N=2 super-conformal algebra and supersymmetric two-component Camassa-Holm equation

This paper is concerned with a link between central extensions of N=2 superconformal algebra and a supersymmetric two-component generalization of the Camassa--Holm equation. Deformations of superconformal algebra give rise to two compatible bracket structures. One of the bracket structures is derived from the central extension and admits a momentum operator which agrees with the Sobolev norm of a coadjoint orbit element. The momentum operator induces via Lenard relations a chain of conserved hamiltonians of the resulting supersymmetric Camassa-Holm hierarchy.

On a negative flow of the AKNS hierarchy and its relation to a two-component Camassa-Holm equation

Different gauge copies of the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) model labeled by an angle $θ$ are constructed and then reduced to the two-component Camassa--Holm model. Only three different independent classes of reductions are encountered corresponding to the angle $θ$ being 0, $π/2$ or taking any value in the interval $0<θ<π/2$. This construction induces Bäcklund transformations between solutions of the two-component Camassa--Holm model associated with different classes of reduction.

Supersymmetry for integrable hierarchies on loop superalgebras

The algebraic approach is employed to formulate N=2 supersymmetry transformations in the context of integrable systems based on loop superalgebras $\hat{\rm sl}(p+1,p), p \ge 1$ with homogeneous gradation. We work with extended integrable hierarchies, which contain supersymmetric AKNS and Lund-Regge sectors. We derive the one-soliton solution for $p=1$ which solves positive and negative evolution equations of the N=2 supersymmetric model.

On negative flows of the AKNS hierarchy and a class of deformations of bihamiltonian structure of hydrodynamic type

A deformation parameter of a bihamiltonian structure of hydrodynamic type is shown to parameterize different extensions of the AKNS hierarchy to include negative flows. This construction establishes a purely algebraic link between, on the one hand, two realizations of the first negative flow of the AKNS model and, on the other, two-component generalizations of Camassa-Holm and Dym type equations. The two-component generalizations of Camassa-Holm and Dym type equations can be obtained from the negative order Hamiltonians constructed from the Lenard relations recursively applied on the Casimir of the first Poisson bracket of hydrodynamic type. The positive order Hamiltonians, which follow from Lenard scheme applied on the Casimir of the second Poisson bracket of hydrodynamic type, are shown to coincide with the Hamiltonians of the AKNS model. The AKNS Hamiltonians give rise to charges conserved with respect to equations of motion of two-component Camassa-Holm and two-component Dym type equations.

N=2 and N=4 Supersymmetric mKdV and sinh-Gordon Hierarchies

Integrable models with higher N=2 and N=4 supersymmetries are formulated on reductions of twisted loop superalgebras $\hat{sl}(2|2)$ and $\hat{sl}(4|4) $ endowed with principal gradation. In case of the $\hat{sl}(4|4)$ loop algebra a sequence of progressing reductions leads both to the N=4 and N=2 supersymmetric mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations. The reduction scheme is induced by twisted automorphism and allows via dressing approach to associate to each symmetry flow of half-integer degree a supersymmetry transformation involving only local expressions in terms of the underlying fields.

Algebraic construction of integrable and super integrable hierarchies

A general construction of integrable hierarchies based on affine Lie algebras is presented. The models are specified according to some algebraic data and their time evolution is obtained from solutions of the zero curvature condition. Such framework provides an unified treatment of relativistic and non relativistic models. The extension to the construction of supersymmetric integrable hierarchies is proposed. An explicit example of N=2 super mKdV and sinh--Gordon is presented.

Compatible Poisson Structures of Toda Type Discrete Hierarchy

An algebra isomorphism between algebras of matrices and difference operators is used to investigate the discrete integrable hierarchy. We find local and non-local families of R-matrix solutions to the modified Yang-Baxter equation. The three R-theoretic Poisson structures and the Suris quadratic bracket are derived. The resulting family of bi-Poisson structures include a seminal discrete bi-Poisson structure of Kupershmidt at a special value.

Supersymmetry and the KdV equations for Integrable Hierarchies with a Half-integer Gradation

Supersymmetry is formulated for integrable models based on the $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra endowed with a principal gradation. The symmetry transformations which have half-integer grades generate supersymmetry. The $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra leads to N=2 supersymmetric mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations. The corresponding N=1 mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations are obtained via reduction induced by twisted automorphism. Our method allows for a description of a non-local symmetry structure of supersymmetric integrable models.

WDVV Equations, Darboux-Egoroff Metric and the Dressing Method

Dressing technique is used to construct commuting Lax operators which provide an integrable (canonical) structure behind Witten--Dijkgraaf--Verlinde--Verlinde equations. The commuting flows are related to the isomonodromic flows. Examples of the canonical integrable structure are given in two- and three-dimensional cases. The three-dimensional example is associated with the rational Landau-Ginzburg potentials.

Integrable Hierarchy for Multidimensional Toda Equations and Topological-Anti-topological Fusion

The negative symmetry flows are incorporated into the Riemann-Hilbert problem for the homogeneous $A_m$-hierarchy and its $\hat{gl} (m+1, C)$ extension. A loop group automorphism of order two is used to define a sub-hierarchy of $\hat{gl} (m+1, C)$ hierarchy containing only the odd symmetry flows. The positive and negative flows of the $\pm 1$ grade coincide with equations of the multidimensional Toda model and of topological-anti-topological fusion.

Solutions of the WDVV Equations and Integrable Hierarchies of KP type

We show that reductions of KP hierarchies related to the loop algebra of $SL_n$ with homogeneous gradation give solutions of the Darboux-Egoroff system of PDE's. Using explicit dressing matrices of the Riemann-Hilbert problem generalized to include a set of commuting additional symmetries, we construct solutions of the Witten--Dijkgraaf--E. Verlinde--H. Verlinde equations.

Loop-Algebra and Virasoro Symmetries of Integrable Hierarchies of KP Type

We propose a systematic treatment of symmetries of KP integrable systems, including constrained (reduced) KP models ${\sl cKP}_{R,M}$, and their multi-component (matrix) generalizations. Any such integrable hierarchy is shown to possess an additional $({\hat U}(1)\oplus{\hat {SL}}(M))_{+} \oplus ({\hat {SL}}(M+R))_{-}$ loop-algebra symmetry. Also we provide a systematic construction of the full algebra of Virasoro additional symmetries in the case of constrained KP models which requires a nontrivial modification of the known Orlov-Schulman construction for the general unconstrained KP hierarchy. Multi-component KP hierarchies are identified as ordinary (scalar) one-component KP hierarchies supplemented with the Cartan subalgebra of the additional symmetry algebra, which provides the basis of a new method for construction of soliton-like solutions. Davey-Stewartson and $N$-wave resonant systems arise as symmetry flows of ordinary ${\sl cKP}_{R,M}$ hierarchies.

The complex Sine-Gordon equation as a symmetry flow of the AKNS Hierarchy

It is shown how the complex sine-Gordon equation arises as a symmetry flow of the AKNS hierarchy. The AKNS hierarchy is extended by the ``negative'' symmetry flows forming the Borel loop algebra. The complex sine-Gordon and the vector Nonlinear Schrodinger equations appear as lowest negative and second positive flows within the extended hierarchy. This is fully analogous to the well-known connection between the sine-Gordon and mKdV equations within the extended mKdV hierarchy. A general formalism for a Toda-like symmetry occupying the ``negative'' sector of sl(N) constrained KP hierarchy and giving rise to the negative Borel sl(N) loop algebra is indicated.

Exact static soliton solutions of 3+1 dimensional integrable theory with nonzero Hopf numbers

In this paper we construct explicitly an infinite number of Hopfions (static, soliton solutions with non-zero Hopf topological charges) within the recently proposed 3+1-dimensional, integrable and relativistically invariant field theory. Two integers label the family of Hopfions we have found. Their product is equal to the Hopf charge which provides a lower bound to the soliton's finite energy. The Hopfions are constructed explicitly in terms of the toroidal coordinates and shown to have a form of linked closed vortices.
