Principle and prospect of Bose-Einstein correlation study at BESIII

One method for determining the characteristic parameters of a hadron production source is to measure the Bose-Einstein correlation functions. In this study, we present fundamental concepts and formulas related to the Bose-Einstein correlations, focusing on the measurement principles and the Lund model from an experimental perspective. We perform Monte Carlo simulations using the Lund model generator in the 2-3 GeV energy range. Through these feasibility studies, we identify key features of the Bose-Einstein correlations that offer valuable insights for experimental measurements. Utilizing data samples collected at BESIII, we perform measurements of the Bose-Einstein correlation functions, with an expected experimental precision of a few percent for the hadron source radius and incoherence parameter.

A discussion on vacuum polarization correction to the cross-section of $e^+e^-\toγ^\ast/ψ\toμ^+μ^-$

Vacuum polarization is a part of the initial-state radiative correction for the cross-section of $e^+e^-$ annihilation processes. In the energy region in the vicinity of narrow resonances $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$, the vacuum polarization contribution from the resonant component has a significant effect on the line-shape of the lepton pair production cross-section. This paper discusses some basic concepts and describes an analytical calculation of the cross-section of $e^+e^-\toγ^\ast/ψ\toμ^+μ^-$ considering the single and double vacuum polarization effect of the virtual photon propagator. Moreover, it presents some numerical comparisons with the traditional treatments.

Tuning and validation of hadronic event generator for $R$ value measurements in the tau-charm region

To measure the $R$ value in an energy scan experiment with $\ee$ collisions, precise calculation of initial state radiation is required in event generators. We present an event generator for this consideration, which incorporates initial state radiation effects up to the second order accuracy, and the radiative correction factor is calculated using the totally hadronic Born cross section. The measured exclusive processes are generated according to their cross sections, while the unknown processes are generated using the LUND Area Law model, and its parameters are tuned with data collected at $\sqrt s=3.65$ GeV. The optimized values are validated with data in the range $\sqrt s=2.2324\sim3.671$ GeV. These optimized parameters are universally valid for event generation below the $D\bar D$ threshold.

Testing Quantum Mechanics in Nuetrino Oscillation

A testing of quantum mechanics in nuetrino oscillation is presented. The quantum mechanics violation motivated by arguements of quantum gravity is investigated in neutrino system. The formula of density matrix and oscillation probability of nuetrinos with and without the effect of quantum mechanics violation are derived for the cases of neutrino ocsillation in vacuum and matter. The limits to the corresponding parameters are obtained from neutrino experiments.

Manifestation of $s\to Λ$ fragmentation matrix elements via transverse $Λ$ polarization in unpolarized $e^-e^+$ annihilation

Making use of the collinear expansion technique developed by Ellis, Furmanski and Petrozio, and the special propagator concept invented by Qiu, we present a factorization approach to the photon fragmentation tensor for the inclusive Lambda hyperon production. As a result, the structure function $\tilde F$, which is related to the transverse polarization of the inclusive Lambda hyperon in unpolarized electron-positron annihilation, is expressed as a combination of four parton fragmentation matrix elements. Since the inclusive $Λ$ production we considered is theoretically the simplest, our study can be taken as a question to the operatability and practability of the first nonleading QCD factorization theorem in the transverse $Λ$ polarization phenomena.
