Thermodynamics and phase transitions of spherically symmetric AdS regular black holes

We obtain the singular ''mother'' black hole solution by solving the coupling between Einstein gravity with a cosmological constant and a nonlinear electromagnetic field. The thermodynamic quantities of the ''mother'' black hole are first derived in the unconstrained phase space $(S, q, α, P)$, after which the regularity condition $M = q^3/α$ is imposed to obtain the thermodynamic quantities of a class of spherically symmetric AdS regular black holes self-consistently. We distinguish two categories of thermodynamic quantities: fundamental conjugate variables defined by the first law, and thermodynamic response functions constructed from them. For response functions involving second-order derivatives -- in particular the heat capacity -- we show that the order of constraint imposition and derivative calculation cannot be interchanged, and the correct procedure is to first impose the constraint and then construct the response function. Within this framework, we find that when $P<P_c$, the $G$--$T$ diagram exhibits a behavior qualitatively different from the swallowtail behavior of the standard RN-AdS black hole. Instead, it exhibits an 8-shaped structure for $P<P_z$ and a C-shaped structure for $P_z<P<P_c$, corresponding to first-order and zeroth-order phase transitions between small and large black hole phases, respectively. Imposing the regularity condition thus leads to a richer phase structure for this class of black holes than the standard RN-AdS case.

Relic Density of Asymmetric Dark Matter with Breit-Wigner Enhancement

The Breit-Wigner Enhancement mechanism provides a novel interpretation for the ``enhancement factor'' derived from data of the PAMELA, ATIC, and PPB-BETS experiments, and we further extends this research to the case of asymmetric Dark Matter. We investigate the impact of resonance mechanism to the asymmetric Dark Matter case and constrain the resonance model parameters to satisfy the ``enhancement factor" and the asymmetric dark matter model parameters to meet the upper bound requirement imposed by the astronomical experiment.

Rotating and non-linear magnetic-charged black hole with an anisotropic matter field

We present the solution of a non-linear magnetic-charged black hole with an anisotropic matter field and further extend it to obtain the corresponding rotating black hole solution using the modified Newman-Janis algorithm. The event horizon and ergosphere of the rotating black hole are studied in terms of the perspective of geometric properties, revealing that the rotating black hole can have up to three horizons. The first law of thermodynamics and the squared-mass formula for the rotating black hole are derived from a thermodynamic perspective, based on which we obtain the thermodynamic quantities and study the thermodynamic stability of the rotating black hole. Additionally, we calculate the Penrose process for the rotating black hole, indicating the influence of various black hole parameters on the maximal efficiency of the Penrose process.

Constraints and Consistency of Rotating Regular Black Hole Thermodynamics

The thermodynamics of regular black holes has long suffered from a self-consistency problem: the Hawking temperature derived from the first law disagrees with the geometrically defined one, signaling that the thermodynamic quantities obtained in previous studies are unreliable. To resolve this, we construct a rotating ``mother'' black hole whose parameters are initially independent, forming an extended thermodynamic phase space. Thermodynamic quantities are first derived in this unconstrained phase space, and only then is the regularity condition imposed. We find a fundamental asymmetry between the geometric and thermodynamic derivations: the geometric temperature is invariant under the order of constraint application, whereas the thermodynamic temperature requires the correct order of operations to yield a physically meaningful result. This establishes a self-consistent thermodynamic framework for rotating regular black holes, in which all thermodynamic quantities are guaranteed to be physically correct, laying a rigorous foundation for investigating phase transitions and thermodynamic stability.

Holographic dark energy in a coasting cosmology

Coasting cosmology offers an intriguing and straightforward framework for understanding the universe. In this work, we employ the Trans-Planckian Censorship Criterion (TCC) conjecture to test the viability of the coasting cosmology and propose an entropic dark energy (EDE) model within this framework. By applying the holographic principle to constrain the dark energy density and adopting the Bekenstein entropy and Tsallis entropy as the constraining entropies of the system, we find that, in a holographic coasting cosmological framework where dark energy and dark matter evolve independently, the Tsallis entropy satisfies certain general assumptions better than the Bekenstein entropy. Thus, there may be a fundamental relationship between Tsallis entropy and dark energy. We utilize observational data from Type Ia Supernovae (SNIa), Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO), and Cosmic Chronometers (CC) to constrain EDE model. The optimal Tsallis parameter obtained aligns well with theoretical expectations. To evaluate the model's fit to the observed data, we calculate the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), and Kullback Information Criterion (KIC), and compare these metrics with those derived from $Λ$CDM, under which the model shows some improvement. Overall, this model provides a novel and simple on the evolution of the universe.

Non-standard cosmological scenarios, Sommerfeld enhancement and asymmetric dark matter

We discuss the relic density of asymmetric dark matter with long-range interactions in non-standard cosmological scenarios where the extra cosmic energy is introduced. The Hubble expansion rate is modified in non-standard cosmological models, which affects the relic density of dark matter. If the mass of the dark exchanged gauge boson is less than the mass of dark matter particles multiplied by the dark fine-structure constant, the wave function of the incoming particles of dark matter annihilation would be distorted away from the free plane-wave approximation, yielding the significant enhancements to annihilation cross sections, known as Sommerfeld enhancement. Sommerfeld enhancement results the asymmetric dark matter relic density under abundant, while the enhanced cosmic expansion rate increases the relic density of asymmetric dark matter by letting the decoupling from the thermal equilibrium occurs earlier. However, the mixed effect of modified cosmic expansion and the Sommerfeld enhancement on asymmetric dark matter density evolution becomes quite complicated, due to their opposing affects on relic density and contrary strength developments as the temperature fell. We investigated the mixed effects on asymmetric dark matter freeze-out process and current relic abundance, which is significantly different from the standard situation. Further, we calculate the constraint relations of the asymmetric dark matter pertubative annihilation cross section and dark coupling constant with the mass of asymmetric dark matter, the asymmetry factor with the dark coupling constant, when the relic density of asymmetric dark matter falled in the observed region. The upper bounds on the mass of asymmetric dark matter for s-wave and p-wave annihilations are also derived.

Constraints on Asymmetric Dark Matter Self Annihilation Cross Sections

We investigate the evolution of the relic density for asymmetric dark matter incorporating self annihilation processes in both the shear-dominated universe and Gauss-Bonnet braneworld. Under the same conditions where the ratio of final asymmetry to the initial asymmetry $ R \equiv Δ_{-\infty}/Δ_{\text{in}} $ is identical, the shear-dominated universe, due to its enhanced Hubble expansion rate, leads to an earlier freeze-out point of wash-out asymmetry process and allows a higher upper limit on the self annihilation cross section. Conversely, the Gauss-Bonnet braneworld, with a weakened Hubble expansion rate, delays the freeze-out point and permits a lower upper limit on the self annihilation cross section. We further constrain the wino mass $M_2$ for sneutrino and higgsino asymmetric dark matter in both scenarios, showing that, compared to the standard model, the lower limit of $M_2$ is smaller in the shear-dominated universe but higher in the Gauss-Bonnet braneworld.

Constraints on non-standard cosmological models from Planck data

We review the relic density of dark matter in the non-standard cosmological scenarios which includes kination models, brane world cosmology and shear dominated universe. Then we use the Planck data to find constraints on the parameter spaces as dark matter cross sections and the five dimentional Planck mass for brane cosmology, enhancement factor for kination model and the inverse-scaled shear temperature for shear dominated universe.

Asymmetric Dark Matter and Sommerfeld Enhancement

We show that the relic density of asymmetric dark matter with long-range interactions is affected by the Sommerfeld enhancement. The annihilation cross section of asymmetric dark matter is enhanced due to the Sommerfeld effect. It results the relic density is decreased. Using the Planck date, the constraints on the asymmetry factor and coupling required to attain the observed dark matter density are obtained. We derive the upper bounds on the mass for asymmetric dark matter in s-wave and p-wave annihilation cases.

Relic abundance of dark matter with coannihilation in non-standard cosmological scenarios

We investigate the relic abundance of dark matter from coannihilation in non-standard cosmological scenarios. We explore the effect of coannihilation on the relic density of dark matter and freeze out temperature in quintessence model with kination phase and brane world cosmological scenarios. Since the Hubble expansion rate is enhanced in quintessence and brane world cosmological models, it causes the larger relic density compared to that in the standard one. On the other hand, the relic density of dark matter is decreased due to the coannihilation in the standard cosmological scenario. After including coannihilation in quintessence or brane world cosmological scenarios, we find the decrease of the relic density of dark matter is slightly slower than that in the standard cosmological scenario.

Constraints on Asymmetric Dark Matter Self Annihilation Cross Sections in Non-standard Cosmological Scenarios

We investigate the relic abundance of asymmetric dark matter in the non-standard cosmological scenarios when the annihilation cross section includes self annihilations. Here we discuss the kination model and brane world cosmology. When the self annihilation is permitted for asymmetric dark matter, there is possibility of washing out the pre-existed asymmetry. We find the constraints on the cross section to avoid the complete washing out of the asymmetry in the non-standard cosmological scenarios. The enhanced cosmic expansion rate causes the freeze out point of wash-out to be earlier. The larger self annihilation cross sections are allowed to exist in kination model and brane world cosmology. Then, in the case of left-handed sneutrino asymmetric dark matter, we find the value of the lower bound on winos mass is smaller than that in the standard cosmological scenario.

Relic density of asymmetric dark matter and constraints on the parameter spaces

Based on the cosmological observations, the baryon and dark matter energy densities are similar. There may exist an asymmetry between the dark matter particles and their corresponding anti--particles. We review the relic density of asymmetric dark matter particle and anti--particle in the standard cosmological scenario and quintessence model with kination phase. Then we use the Planck data to find constraints on the annihilation cross section and the mass of the asymmetric dark matter in those models.

Asymmetric Dark Matter Abundance Including Non-thermal production

We investigate the relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter where the asymmetric Dark Matter is non--thermally produced from the decay of heavier particles in addition to the usual thermal production. We discuss the relic density of asymmetric Dark Matter including the decay of heavy particles in low temperature scenario. Here we still assume the universe is radiation dominated and there is asymmetry before the decay of heavy particles. We obtained increased abundances of asymmetric Dark Matter when there is additional contribution from the decay of heavier particles. Finally we find the constraints on the asymmetry factor and annihilation cross section using the Planck data.

Sommerfeld Enhancements for Asymmetric Dark Matter

We extend the analysis of asymmetric Dark Matter relic density with Sommerfeld enhancement to the case where the mediator is massive. In asymmetric Dark Matter models, the asymmetric Dark Matter is assumed to couple to light scalar or vector boson. Asymmetric Dark Matter annihilation cross section is enhanced by the Sommerfeld effect which exists due to the distortion of wavefunction of asymmetric Dark Matter particle and anti--particle by long--range interactions. The impacts of Sommerfeld enhancement on the relic densities of asymmetric Dark Matter particle and anti--particle are discussed. The effect of kinetic decoupling on the relic density is also probed when the annihilation cross section is enhanced by Sommerfeld enhancement. Finally, the constraints on the parameter space is given by using the observational data of Dark Matter.

Relic Density of Asymmetric Dark Matter with Sommerfeld enhancement

We investigate the evolution of the abundance of the asymmetric thermal Dark Matter when its annihilation rate at chemical decoupling is boosted by the Sommerfeld enhancement. We perform the detailed analysis of the effect of $s$-- and $p$--wave Sommerfeld enhanced annihilation cross section on the relic abundances of asymmetric Dark Matter particle and anti--particle both in numerical and analytical way. The constraints on the coupling and asymmetric factor are given by using the observational data of the relic density of Dark Matter.

Relic Density of Asymmetric Dark Matter with Sommerfeld enhancement

We investigate the evolution of abundance of the asymmetric thermal Dark Matter when its annihilation rate at chemical decoupling is boosted by the Sommerfeld enhancement. Then we discuss the effect of kinetic decoupling on relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter when the interaction rate depends on the velocity. Usually the relic density of asymmetric Dark Matter is analyzed in the frame of chemical decoupling. Indeed after decoupling from the chemical equilibrium, asymmetric Dark Matter particles and anti--particles were still in kinetic equilibrium for a while. It has no effect on the case of $s-$wave annihilation since there is no temperature dependence in this case. However, the kinetic decoupling has impacts for the case of $p-$wave annihilation and Sommerfeld enhanced $s-$ and $p-$wave annihilations. We investigate in which extent the kinetic decoupling affects the relic abundances of asymmetric Dark Matter particle and anti--particle in detail. We found the constraints on the cross section and asymmetry factor by using the observational data of relic density of Dark Matter.

Relic Density of Asymmetric Dark Matter in Modified Cosmological Scenarios

We discuss the relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter particles in modified cosmological scenarios where the Hubble rate is changed with respect to the standard cosmological scenario. The modified Hubble rate leaves its imprint on the relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter particles if the asymmetric Dark Matter particles freeze--out in this era. For generality we parameterize the modification of the Hubble rate and then calculate the relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter particles and anti--particles. We found the abundances for the Dark Matter particles and anti--particles are enhanced in the modified cosmological models. The indirect detection signal is possible for the asymmetric Dark Matter particles due to the increased annihilation rate in the modified cosmological models. Applying Planck data, we find the constraints on the parameters of the modified cosmological models.

Effects of Irradiation on the Evolution of Ultra-compact X-ray Binaries

Using the Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics code, we investigate the influences of irradiation on ultra-compact X-ray binary (UCXB) evolution. Although the persistent UCXBs have short orbital periods which result in high irradiation flux, the irradiation hardly affects the evolution of persistent sources because the WDs in these binaries have large masses which lead to very low irradiation depth. The irradiation has a significant effect on the transient sources during outburst phase. At the beginning of the outburst, high X-ray luminosity produces high radiation flux, which results in the significant expansion of WD. Then, the irradiation triggers high mass-transfer rates, which can last several days for the transient sources with WDs whose masses are larger than $\sim0.015 M_\odot$ or several hundred years for these sources with WDs whose masses are less than $\sim0.012 M_\odot$. The observed three persistent UCXBs, XTE J0929-314, 4U 1916-05 and SWIFT J1756.9-2508, may belong to the latter.
