Partition Functions of Hermitian and PT-Symmetric Oscillators from Integrable Models

We develop an ODE/IM-based formulation for the thermal partition function and the spectral zeta function of the homogeneous Hermitian and PT-symmetric oscillators. For both classes of systems, the quantization condition can be expressed using the counting function $a(E)$, which can be solved via the Destri-de Vega equation of the integrable model. We then express the partition function and spectral zeta function as contour integrals involving the counting function, thereby providing a direct bridge between quantum spectral functions and integrable models.

TBA equations for $SU(r+1)$ quantum Seiberg-Witten curve: higher-order Mathieu equation

We develop the ODE/IM correspondence for the higher-order Mathieu equation arising from the quantum Seiberg-Witten curve of the pure $SU(r+1)$ ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. From the subdominant solutions, we construct the Q-/Y-systems and derive the corresponding TBA equations. The dependence of the moduli parameters is found to be encoded in the boundary conditions of the Y-functions at $\theta \to -\infty$. From these boundary data, we derive an analytic expression for the effective central charge, which also governs the subleading contribution in the large-$\theta$ expansion of the TBA equations. Finally, we compare the large-$\theta$ expansion of the Q-function derived from the TBA equations with that obtained from the WKB method, which yields analytic agreement at subleading order and precise numerical agreement at the higher-order corrections.

A Difference Formula for Tensor-power Multiplicities

A novel combinatorial formula is developed for for tensor product multiplicities in representation theory. We introduce a difference formula linking these multiplicities to restricted occupancy coefficients via a shifted operator. This method is extended to derive branching rules for subalgebras and is conjecturally applied to A-type Lie superalgebras.

Thermodynamic Bethe ansatz and wall crossing for deformed supersymmetric quantum mechanics

We study the deformed supersymmetric quantum mechanics with a polynomial superpotential with $\hbar$ correction. In the minimal chamber, where all turning points are real and distinct, it was shown that the exact Wentzel--Kramers--Brillouin periods obey the ${\mathbb Z}_4$-extended thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations of the undeformed potential. By changing the energy parameter above/below the critical points, the turning points become complex, and the moduli are outside of the minimal chamber. We study the wall crossing of the ${\mathbb Z}_4$-extended TBA equations by this change of moduli and show that the ${\mathbb Z}_4$ structure is preserved after the wall crossing. In particular, the TBA equations for the cubic superpotential are studied in detail, where there are two chambers (minimal and maximal). At the maximally symmetric point in the maximal chamber, the TBA system becomes the two sets of the $D_3$-type TBA equations, which are regarded as the ${\mathbb Z}_4$ extension of the $A_3/{\mathbb Z}_2$-type TBA equation.

Resurgence for large $c$ expansion in Coulomb gas formalism

We develop a resurgence analysis for large central charge (large $C$) expansions in two-dimensional CFTs using the Coulomb gas formalism. Through the exact Borel-Laplace representations of the conformal blocks $I_1(C,z)$ and $I_2(C,z)$ associated with the four-point correlation function $ \langle \phi_{2,1}(0)\phi_{2,1}(z,\bar{z})\phi_{2,1}(1)\phi_{2,1}(\infty)\rangle$, we demonstrate that $I_1(C,z)$ participates in the Stokes phenomenon of $I_2(C,z)$ (and vice versa), and establish that monodromy in $z$ arises from alien calculus in the Borel plane variable $\zeta$ (Borel dual to $C$). From a given conformal block, resurgence theory thus enables us to discover other internal operators (conformal blocks). This approach establishes a non-perturbative connection between conformal blocks, shedding light on the resurgence phenomena in more general quantum field theories.

A short review on TBA equation and scattering amplitude/Wilson loop duality

In this review (written in Chinese), we introduce the computation of the minimal surface area in the scattering amplitude/Wilson loop duality, where the minimal surface ends on a light-like polygonal Wilson loop at the boundary of anti-de Sitter space (AdS). Due to its nonlinearity and the complexity of the boundary conditions, directly solving the equations of motion to compute the area is highly challenging. This paper reviews an alternative approach that bypasses the direct solution of the equations of motion and instead uses integrable systems to compute the area. We will provide boundary conditions for the Hitchin system, which is equivalent to the equations of motion, to describe the light-like polygonal boundary of the minimal surface. Starting from the solution of the Hitchin system, we will further derive the Y-system and the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) equations, whose free energy provides the nontrivial part of the minimal surface area. Finally, we will discuss recent developments in this field and provide an outlook for future research.

Truncating Dyson-Schwinger Equations Based on Lefschetz Thimble Decomposition and Borel Resummation

We study the zero-dimensional prototype of the path integrals in quantum mechanics and quantum field theory, with the action $S(\phi)=\frac{\sigma }{2}\phi^{2}+\frac{\lambda}{4}\phi^{4}$. Using the Lefschetz thimble decomposition and the saddle point expansion, we derive multiple asymptotic formal series of the correlation function associated with the perturbative and non-perturbative saddle points. Furthermore, we reconstruct the exact correlation function employing the Borel resummation. We then consider how to truncate the Dyson-Schwinger (DS) equations beginning with the perturbation expansion of the correlation functions, analogous to the one obtained from the Feynmann diagram in higher dimensions. For the case $\sigma<0$, we find that although the asymptotic series around the perturbative saddle point is Borel summable, it does not capture the full information. Consequently, contributions from non-perturbative saddle points must be included to ensure a complete truncation procedure.

Counting Bethe States in Twisted Spin Chains

We present a counting formula that relates the number of physical Bethe states of integrable models with a twisted boundary condition to the number of states in the untwisted or partially twisted limit.

TBA equations and exact WKB analysis in deformed supersymmetric quantum mechanics

We study the spectral problem in deformed supersymmetric quantum mechanics with polynomial superpotential by using the exact WKB method and the TBA equations. We apply the ODE/IM correspondence to the Schr\"odinger equation with an effective potential deformed by integrating out the fermions, which admits a continuous deformation parameter. We find that the TBA equations are described by the ${\mathbb Z}_4$-extended ones. For cubic superpotential corresponding to the symmetric double-well potential, the TBA system splits into the two $D_3$-type TBA equations. We investigate in detail this example based on the TBA equations and their analytic continuation as well as the massless limit. We find that the energy spectrum obtained from the exact quantization condition is in good agreement with the diagonalization approach of the Hamiltonian.

Quasinormal Modes of C-metric from SCFTs

We study the quasinormal modes (QNM) of the charged C-metric, which physically stands for a charged accelerating black hole, with the help of Nekrasov's partition function of 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ superconformal field theories (SCFTs). The QNM in the charged C-metric are classified into three types: the photon-surface modes, the accelerating modes and the near-extremal modes, and it is curious how the single quantization condition proposed in arXiv:2006.06111 can reproduce all the different families. We show that the connection formula encoded in terms of Nekrasov's partition function captures all these families of QNM numerically and recovers the asymptotic behavior of the accelerating and the near-extremal modes analytically. Using the connection formulae of different 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ SCFTs, one can solve both the radial and the angular part of the scalar perturbation equation respectively. The same algorithm can be applied to the de Sitter (dS) black holes to calculate both the dS modes and the photon-sphere modes.

Correlation Functions in the TsT/$T{\bar T}$ Correspondence

We investigate the proposed holographic duality between the TsT transformation of IIB string theory on AdS$_3\times {\cal N}$ with NS-NS flux and a single-trace $T\bar{T}$ deformation of the symmetric orbifold CFT. We present a non-perturbative calculation of two-point correlation functions using string theory and demonstrate their consistency with those of the $T\bar{T}$ deformation. The two-point correlation function of the deformed theory on the plane, written in momentum space, is obtained from that of the undeformed theory by replacing $h$ with $h+2{\tilde \lambda\over w} p\bar p$, where $h$ is the spacetime conformal weight, $\tilde \lambda$ is a deformation parameter, $p$ and $\bar p$ are the momenta, and $w$ labels the twisted sectors in the deformed symmetric product. At $w=1$, the non-perturbative result satisfies the Callan-Symanzik equation for double-trace $T\bar T$ deformed CFT derived in \cite{Cardy:2019qao}. We also perform conformal perturbations on both the worldsheet CFT and the symmetric orbifold CFT as a sanity check. The perturbative and non-perturbative matching between results on the two sides provides further evidence of the conjectured TsT/$T\bar{T}$ correspondence.

Bethe-State Counting and the Witten Index

We count the Bethe states of quantum integrable models with twisted boundary conditions using the Witten index of 2d supersymmetric gauge theories. For multi-component models solvable by the nested Bethe ansatz, the result is a novel restricted occupancy problem. For the SU(3) spin chain and the t-J model, we propose formulae for the solution count on singular loci in the space of twist parameters.

Shadow Celestial Amplitude

We study scattering amplitudes in the shadow conformal primary basis, which satisfies the same defining properties as the original conformal primary basis and has many advantages over it. The shadow celestial amplitudes exhibit locality manifestly on the celestial sphere, and behave like correlation functions in conformal field theory under the operator product expansion (OPE) limit. We study the OPE limits for three-point shadow celestial amplitude, and general $2\to n-2$ shadow celestial amplitudes from a large class of Feynman diagrams. In particular, we compute the conformal block expansion of the $s$-channel four-point shadow celestial amplitude of massless scalars at tree-level, and show that the expansion coefficients factorize as products of OPE coefficients.

Integrability, susy $SU(2)$ matter gauge theories and black holes

We show that previous correspondence between some (integrable) statistical field theory quantities and periods of $SU(2)$ $\mathcal{N}=2$ deformed gauge theory still holds if we add $N_f=1,2$ flavours of matter. Moreover, the correspondence entails a new non-perturbative solution to the theory. Eventually, we use this solution to give exact results on quasinormal modes of black branes and holes.

TBA-like equations for non-planar scattering amplitude/Wilson lines duality at strong coupling

We compute the minimal area of a string worldsheet ending on two infinite periodic light-like Wilson lines in the AdS$_3$ boundary, which is dual to the first non-planar correction to the gluon scattering amplitude in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM at the strong coupling. Using the connection between the Hitchin system and the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations, we present an analytic method to compute the minimal area surface and express the non-trivial part of the minimal area in terms of the free energy of the TBA-like equations. Given the cross ratios as inputs, the area computed from the TBA-like equations matches that calculated using the numerical integration.

Wall-crossing of TBA equations and WKB periods for the third order ODE

We study the WKB periods for the third order ordinary differential equation (ODE) with polynomial potential, which is obtained by the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit of ($A_2,A_N$) Argyres-Douglas theory in the Omega background. In the minimal chamber of the moduli space, we derive the Y-system and the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations by using the ODE/IM correspondence. The exact WKB periods are identified with the Y-functions. Varying the moduli parameters of the potential, the wall-crossing of the TBA equations occurs. We study the process of the wall-crossing from the minimal chamber to the maximal chamber for $(A_2,A_2)$ and $(A_2,A_3)$. When the potential is a monomial type, we show the TBA equations obtained from the ($A_2, A_2$) and ($A_2, A_3$)-type ODE lead to the $D_4$ and $E_6$-type TBA equations respectively.

WKB periods for higher order ODE and TBA equations

We study the WKB periods for the $(r+1)$-th order ordinary differential equation (ODE) which is obtained by the conformal limit of the linear problem associated with the $A_r^{(1)}$ affine Toda field equation. We compute the quantum corrections by using the Picard-Fuchs operators. The ODE/IM correspondence provides a relation between the Wronskians of the solutions and the Y-functions which satisfy the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equation related to the Lie algebra $A_r$. For the quadratic potential, we propose a formula to show the equivalence between the logarithm of the Y-function and the WKB period, which is confirmed by solving the TBA equation numerically.

Extended systems of Baxter Q-functions and fused flags I: simply-laced case

The spectrum of integrable models is often encoded in terms of commuting functions of a spectral parameter that satisfy functional relations. We propose to describe this commutative algebra in a covariant way by means of the extended Q-system that comprise Q-vectors in each of the fundamental representations of the (Langlands dual of) the underlying symmetry algebra. These Q-vectors turn out to parameterise a collection of complete flags which are fused with one another in a particular way. We show that the fused flag is a finite-difference oper in a particular gauge, explicit identification depends on a choice of a Coxeter element. The paper considers the case of simple Lie algebras with a simply-laced Dynkin diagram. For the $A_r$ series, the construction coincides with already known results in the literature. We apply the proposed formalism to the case of the $D_r$ series and the exceptional algebras $E_r$, $r=6,7,8$. In particular, we solve Hirota bilinear equations in terms of Q-functions and give the explicit character solution of the extended Q-system in the $D_r$ case. We also show how to build up the extended Q-system of $D_r$ type starting either from vectors, by a procedure similar to the $A_r$ scenario which however constructs a fused flag of isotropic spaces, or from pure spinors, \via fused Fierz relations. Finally, for the case of rational, trigonometric, and elliptic spin chains, we propose an explicit ansatz for the analytic structure of Q-functions of the extended Q-system. We conjecture that the extended Q-system constrained in such a way is always in bijection with the Bethe algebra of commuting transfer matrices of these models and moreover can be used to show that the Bethe algebra has a simple joint spectrum.
