Extended systems of Baxter Q-functions and fused flags I: simply-laced case

The spectrum of integrable models is often encoded in terms of commuting functions of a spectral parameter that satisfy functional relations. We propose to describe this commutative algebra in a covariant way by means of the extended Q-system that comprise Q-vectors in each of the fundamental representations of the (Langlands dual of) the underlying symmetry algebra. These Q-vectors turn out to parameterise a collection of complete flags which are fused with one another in a particular way. We show that the fused flag is a finite-difference oper in a particular gauge, explicit identification depends on a choice of a Coxeter element. The paper considers the case of simple Lie algebras with a simply-laced Dynkin diagram. For the $A_r$ series, the construction coincides with already known results in the literature. We apply the proposed formalism to the case of the $D_r$ series and the exceptional algebras $E_r$, $r=6,7,8$. In particular, we solve Hirota bilinear equations in terms of Q-functions and give the explicit character solution of the extended Q-system in the $D_r$ case. We also show how to build up the extended Q-system of $D_r$ type starting either from vectors, by a procedure similar to the $A_r$ scenario which however constructs a fused flag of isotropic spaces, or from pure spinors, \via fused Fierz relations. Finally, for the case of rational, trigonometric, and elliptic spin chains, we propose an explicit ansatz for the analytic structure of Q-functions of the extended Q-system. We conjecture that the extended Q-system constrained in such a way is always in bijection with the Bethe algebra of commuting transfer matrices of these models and moreover can be used to show that the Bethe algebra has a simple joint spectrum.

ODE/IM correspondence for affine Lie algebras: A numerical approach

We study numerically the ODE/IM correspondence for untwisted affine Lie algebras associated with simple Lie algebras including exceptional type. We consider the linear problem obtained from the massless limit of that of the modified affine Toda field equation. We found that the Q-functions in integrable models are expressed as the inner product of the solution of the dual linear problem and the subdominant solution of the linear problem. Using Cheng's algorithm to obtain the solution of the linear problem, we can determine efficiently the zeros of the Q-function, which is known to provide the solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations. We calculate the zeros numerically, which are shown to agree with the results from the Non-Linear Integral Equations for simply-laced affine Lie algebras including the exceptional type. By the folding procedure of the Dynkin diagrams of simply-laced Lie algebras, we also find the correspondence for the linear problem of the non-simply-laced affine Lie algebras.

Integrability and Spectral Form Factor in Chern-Simons Formulation

We study the integrability from the spectral form factor in the Chern-Simons formulation. The effective action in the higher spin sector was not derived so far. Therefore, we begin from the SL(3) Chern-Simons higher spin theory. Then the dimensional reduction in this Chern-Simons theory gives the SL(3) reparametrization invariant Schwarzian theory, which is the boundary theory of an interacting theory between the spin-2 and spin-3 fields at the infrared or massless limit. We show that the Lorentzian SL(3) Schwarzian theory is dual to the integrable model, SL(3) open Toda chain theory. Finally, we demonstrate the application of open Toda chain theory from the SL(2) case. The numerical result shows that the spectral form factor loses the dip-ramp-plateau behavior, consistent with integrability. The spectrum is not a Gaussian random matrix spectrum. We also give an exact solution of the spectral form factor for the SL(3) theory. This solution provides a similar form to the SL(2) case for $β\neq 0$. Hence the SL(3) theory should also do not have a Gaussian random matrix spectrum.

$T\bar{T}$ deformation of chiral bosons and Chern-Simons AdS$_3$ gravity

We study the $T\bar{T}$ deformation of the chiral bosons and show the equivalence between the chiral bosons of opposite chiralities and the scalar fields at the Hamiltonian level under the deformation. We also derive the deformed Lagrangian of more generic theories which contain an arbitrary number of chiral bosons to all orders. By using these results, we derive the $T\bar{T}$ deformed boundary action of the AdS$_3$ gravity theory in the Chern-Simons formulation. We compute the deformed one-loop torus partition function, which satisfies the $T\bar{T}$ flow equation up to the one-loop order. Finally, we calculate the deformed stress tensor of a solution describing a BTZ black hole in the boundary theory, which coincides with the boundary stress tensor derived from the BTZ black hole with a finite cutoff.

Quantum Correction of the Wilson Line and Entanglement Entropy in the Pure AdS$_3$ Einstein Gravity Theory

We calculate the expectation value of the Wilson line in the pure AdS$_3$ Einstein gravity theory and also the entanglement entropy in the boundary theory. Our one-loop calculation of entanglement entropy shows a shift of the central charge 26. Finally, we show that the Wilson line provides the equivalent description to the boundary entanglement entropy. This equivalence leads to a concrete example of the building of "minimum surface=entanglement entropy".

$QQ$-system and non-linear integral equations for scattering amplitudes at strong coupling

We provide the two fundamental sets of functional relations which describe the strong coupling limit of scattering amplitudes in $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM dual to Wilson loops in $AdS_3$: the basic $QQ$-system and the derived $TQ$-system. We use the $TQ$ relations and the knowledge of the main properties of the $Q$-function (eigenvalue of some $Q$-operator) to write the Bethe Ansatz equations, {\it viz.} a set of ('complex') non-linear-integral equations, whose solutions give exact values to the strong coupling amplitudes/Wilson loops. Moreover, they have some advantages with respect to the ('real') non-linear-integral equations of Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz and still reproduce, both analytically and numerically, the findings coming from the latter. In any case, these new functional and integral equations give a larger perspective on the topic.

Correlation functions, entanglement and chaos in the $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformed CFTs

In this paper, we regard the $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformed CFTs as perturbation theories and calculate the first order correction of the correlation functions due to the $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformation. As applications, we study the Rényi entanglement entropy of excited state in the $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformed two-dimensional CFTs. We find, up to the perturbation first order of the deformation, the Rényi entanglement entropy of locally excited states will acquire a non-trivial time dependence. The excess of the Rényi entanglement entropy of locally excited state will also be dramatically changed up to order ${\cal O}(c)$. Furthermore, the out of time ordered correlation function is investigated to confirm that the $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformations do not change the maximal chaotic behavior of holographic CFTs up to the first order of the deformations.

TBA equations for the Schrödinger equation with a regular singularity

We derive the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) equations for the Schrödinger equation with an arbitrary polynomial potential and a regular singular (simple and double pole) term. The TBA equations provide a non-trivial generalization of the ODE/IM correspondence and also give a solution for the Riemann-Hilbert problem in the exact WKB method. We study the TBA equations in detail for the linear and the harmonic oscillator potentials together with inverse and centrifugal terms. As an application, we also compute numerically the Voros spectrum for these potentials using the Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization condition.

TBA equations and resurgent Quantum Mechanics

We derive a system of TBA equations governing the exact WKB periods in one-dimensional Quantum Mechanics with arbitrary polynomial potentials. These equations provide a generalization of the ODE/IM correspondence, and they can be regarded as the solution of a Riemann-Hilbert problem in resurgent Quantum Mechanics formulated by Voros. Our derivation builds upon the solution of similar Riemann-Hilbert problems in the study of BPS spectra in $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauge theories and of minimal surfaces in AdS. We also show that our TBA equations, combined with exact quantization conditions, provide a powerful method to solve spectral problems in Quantum Mechanics. We illustrate our general analysis with a detailed study of PT-symmetric cubic oscillators and quartic oscillators.

Massive ODE/IM Correspondence and Non-linear Integral Equations for $A_r^{(1)}$-type modified Affine Toda Field Equations

The massive ODE/IM correspondence is a relation between the linear problem associated with modified affine Toda field equations and two-dimensional massive integrable models. We study the massive ODE/IM correspondence for the $A_r^{(1)}$-type modified affine Toda field equations. Based on the $ψ$-system satisfied by the solutions of the linear problem, we derive the Bethe ansatz equations and determine the asymptotic behavior of the Q-functions for large value of the spectral parameter. We derive the non-linear integral equations for the Q-functions from the Bethe ansatz equations. We compute the effective central charge in the UV limit, which is identified with the one of the non-unitary $WA_r$ minimal models when the solution has trivial monodromy around the origin of the complex plane.

T-duality to Scattering Amplitude and Wilson Loop in Non-commutative Super Yang-Mills Theory

We first perform bosonic T-duality transformation on one of the marginal TsT (T-duality, shift, T-duality)-deformed $AdS_5\times S_5$ spacetime, which corresponds to 4D $\mathcal{N}=4$ non-commutative super Yang-Mills theory (NCSYM). We then construct the solution to killing spinor equations of the resulting background, and perform the fermionic T-duality transformation. The final dual geometry becomes the usual $AdS_5\times S_5$ but with the constant NS-NS B-field depending on the non-commutative parameter. As applications, we study the gluon scattering amplitude and open string (Wilson loop) solution in the TsT-deformed $AdS_5\times S_5$ spacetime, which are dual to the null polygon Wilson loop and the folded string solution respectively in the final dual geometry.

ODE/IM correspondence and the Argyres-Douglas theory

We study the quantum spectral curve of the Argyres-Douglas theories in the Nekrasov-Sahashvili limit of the Omega-background. Using the ODE/IM correspondence we investigate the quantum integrable model corresponding to the quantum spectral curve. We show that the models for the $A_{2N}$-type theories are non-unitary coset models $(A_1)_1\times (A_1)_{L}/(A_1)_{L+1}$ at the fractional level $L=\frac{2}{2N+1}-2$, which appear in the study of the 4d/2d correspondence of ${\cal N}=2$ superconformal field theories. Based on the WKB analysis, we clarify the relation between the Y-functions and the quantum periods and study the exact Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization condition for the quantum periods. We also discuss the quantum spectral curves for the D and E type theories.

ODE/IM correspondence for modified $B_2^{(1)}$ affine Toda field equation

We study the massive ODE/IM correspondence for modified $B_2^{(1)}$ affine Toda field equation. Based on the $ψ$-system for the solutions of the associated linear problem, we obtain the Bethe ansatz equations. We also discuss the T-Q relations, the T-system and the Y-system, which are shown to be related to those of the $A_3/{\bf Z}_2$ integrable system. We consider the case that the solution of the linear problem has a monodromy around the origin, which imposes nontrivial boundary conditions for the T-/Y-system. The high-temperature limit of the T- and Y-system and their monodromy dependence are studied numerically.
