Investigation of meson-meson interaction

In the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model, we investigate the meson-meson interaction in the fully light four-quark system . The calculation of the effective potentials of all the $S-$wave states shows that for most states the interaction between two vector mesons is attractive; the one between a pseudoscalar meson and a vector meson is repulsive or weakly attractive; and the one between two pseudoscalar mesons is always repulsive. However, there is still some exception. The interaction of the $IJ=00$ $ππ$ channel is attractive, while the one of the $IJ=02$ $ϕϕ$ channel is repulsive. So it is difficult to use the $S-$wave $ϕϕ$ state to explain the $X(2239)$ at present calculation. The $S-$wave $ρρ$ states are more likely to be resonance states, which are worthy of investigating in future work. The study of the contribution of each interaction term shows that both the one-gluon exchange and the kinetic energy interaction are important in the interaction between two mesons. The study of the variation of the delocalization parameter indicates that the contribution of the kinetic energy relates to the intermediate-range attraction mechanism in QDCSM, which is achieved by the quark delocalization.

Search for doubly-heavy dibaryons in the quark-delocalization color-screening model

We perform a systemical investigation of the low-lying doubly-heavy dibaryon systems with strange $S=0$, isospin $I=0$, $1$, $2$ and the angular momentum $J=0$, $1$, $2$, $3$ in the quark delocalization color screening model. We find the effect of channel-coupling cannot be neglected in the study of the multi-quark systems. Due to the heavy flavor symmetry, the results of the doubly-charm and doubly-bottom dibaryon systems are similar with each other. Both of them have three bound states, the quantum numbers of which are $IJ=00$, $IJ=02$ and $IJ=13$, respectively. The energies are $4554$ MeV, $4741$ MeV, and $4969$ MeV respectively for the doubly-charm systems and $11219$ MeV, $11416$ MeV, and $11633$ MeV respectively for the doubly-bottom dibaryon systems. Besides, six resonance states are obtained, which are $IJ=00$ $NΞ_{cc}$ and $NΞ_{bb}$ with resonance mass of $4716$ MeV and $11411$ MeV respectively, $IJ=11$ $NΞ^*_{cc}$ and $NΞ^*_{bb}$ with resonance mass of $4757$ MeV and $11432$ MeV respectively, and $IJ=12$ $Σ_{c}Σ^*_{c}$ and $Σ_{b}Σ^*_{b}$ with resonance mass of $4949$ MeV and $11626$ MeV respectively. All these heavy dibaryons are worth searching for on experiments, although it will be a challenging work.

The explanation of some exotic states in the $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark system

Inspired by the recent observation of $χ_{c0}(3930)$, $X(4685)$ and $X(4630)$ by the LHCb Collaboration and some exotic resonances such as $X(4350)$, $X(4500)$, etc. by several experiment collaborations, the $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark systems with $IJ^{P}=00^+$, $01^+$ and $02^+$ are systematically investigated in the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model(QDCSM). Two structures, the meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark structures, as well as the channel-coupling of all channels of these two configurations are considered in this work. The numerical results indicate that the molecular bound state $\bar{D}_{s}D_{s}$ with $IJ^{P}=00^+$ can be supposed to explain the $χ_{c0}(3930)$. Besides, by using the stabilization method, several resonant states are obtained. There are four $IJ^{P}=00^{+}$ states around the resonance mass 4035 MeV, 4385 MeV, 4524 MeV, and 4632 MeV, respectively; one $IJ^{P}=01^{+}$ state around the resonance mass 4327 MeV; and two $IJ^{P}=02^{+}$ states around the resonance mass 4419 MeV and 4526 MeV, respectively. All of them are compact tetraquarks. Among these states, $X(4350)$, $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ can be explained as the compact tetraquark state with $IJ^{P}=00^{+}$, and the $X(4274)$ is possible to be a candidate of the compact tetraquark state with $IJ^{P}=01^{+}$. More experimental tests are expected to check the existence of all these possible resonance states.

Electron-Ion Collider in China

Lepton scattering is an established ideal tool for studying inner structure of small particles such as nucleons as well as nuclei. As a future high energy nuclear physics project, an Electron-ion collider in China (EicC) has been proposed. It will be constructed based on an upgraded heavy-ion accelerator, High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF) which is currently under construction, together with a new electron ring. The proposed collider will provide highly polarized electrons (with a polarization of $\sim$80%) and protons (with a polarization of $\sim$70%) with variable center of mass energies from 15 to 20 GeV and the luminosity of (2-3) $\times$ 10$^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. Polarized deuterons and Helium-3, as well as unpolarized ion beams from Carbon to Uranium, will be also available at the EicC. The main foci of the EicC will be precision measurements of the structure of the nucleon in the sea quark region, including 3D tomography of nucleon; the partonic structure of nuclei and the parton interaction with the nuclear environment; the exotic states, especially those with heavy flavor quark contents. In addition, issues fundamental to understanding the origin of mass could be addressed by measurements of heavy quarkonia near-threshold production at the EicC. In order to achieve the above-mentioned physics goals, a hermetical detector system will be constructed with cutting-edge technologies. This document is the result of collective contributions and valuable inputs from experts across the globe. The EicC physics program complements the ongoing scientific programs at the Jefferson Laboratory and the future EIC project in the United States. The success of this project will also advance both nuclear and particle physics as well as accelerator and detector technology in China.

Strange hidden-charm tetraquarks in constituent quark models

Inspired by the newly reported $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$ by the BESIII Collaboration, we systematically investigate the strange hidden-charm tetraquark systems $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ with two structures: meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark. Two quark models: the chiral quark model (ChQM) and the quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM) are used here. Similar results are obtained in both two quark models. There is no any bound state in either ChQM or QDCSM, which excludes the molecular state explanation ($D_{s}D^{*}/D_{s}^{*}D/D_{s}^{*}D^{*}$) of the reported $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$. However, the effective potentials for the diquark-antidiquark $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ systems shows the possibility of some resonance states with mass range of $3916.5\sim 3964.6$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 0^{+}$, $4008.8\sim 4091.2$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 1^{+}$, $4246.8\sim 4418.1$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 2^{+}$. So the observed $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$ state is possible to be explained as a compact resonance state composed of $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 0^{+}$ or $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 1^{+}$. The study of the scattering process of corresponding open channels is under way to check this conclusion.

Full heavy dibaryons

The existence of full heavy dibaryons $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{bbb}$, $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ and $Ω_{bbb}Ω_{bbb}$ with $J=0,~1,~2,~3$ and $P=\pm1$ are investigated in the framework of a constituent quark model. The dibaryon composed of six $c$ or $b$ quarks with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ is possible to be bound, while the dibaryon with the $cccbbb$ configuration is difficult to form any bound state. We also study the interaction between two full heavy baryons, and the effective potentials, suggesting the existence of dibaryons $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ and $Ω_{bbb}Ω_{bbb}$, and the absence of binding for $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{bbb}$ system. Besides, the calculation of the low-energy scattering phase shifts of the $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ and $Ω_{bbb}Ω_{bbb}$, as well as the scattering length also confirm the existence of stable full heavy dibaryons $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ and $Ω_{bbb}Ω_{bbb}$.

Can $Ω(2012)$ be explained as a molecular state?

We conduct a dynamical calculation of pentaquark systems with quark contents $sssu\bar{u}$ in the framework of two quark models: the chiral quark model(ChQM) and quark delocalization color screening model(QDCSM). The effective potentials between baryon and meson clusters are given, and the possible bound states are also investigated. Besides, the study of the scattering process of the open channels is also performed to look for any resonance state. The results show that the $Ω(2012)$ is not suitable for the interpretation as a $Ξ^{*} \bar{K}$ molecular state in present quark models. Two resonance states: the $Ξ^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$ with $IJ^{P}=0\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ ($M=2328\sim2374$ MeV, $Γ=57\sim65.5$ MeV) and $IJ^{P}=1\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ ($M=2341\sim2386$ MeV, $Γ=31.5\sim100$ MeV) are obtained in both QDCSM and ChQM, which indicates that both of these two states are more possible to be existed and worthy of being searched by future experiments.

Tetraquarks with open charm favor

Inspired by the recent report of the exotic states $X_{0}(2900)$ and $X_{1}(2900)$ with four different quark flavors in the $D^{-}K^{+}$ invariant mass distributions of the decay process $B^{+}\rightarrow D^{+}D^{-}K^{+}$ by the LHCb collaboration, we systematically investigate the tetraquarks composed of $ud\bar{s}\bar{c}$ with meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark structures in the quark delocalization color screening model. We find that the $X_{0}(2900)$ can be interpreted as the molecular state $\bar{D^{*}}K^{*}$ with $IJ^{P}=00^{+}$. Moreover, two bound states are obtained by the channel coupling calculation, with energies $2341.2$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=00^{+}$ and $2489.7$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=01^{+}$, respectively. We also extend our study to the $uc\bar{d}\bar{s}$ systems and find that there is no any bound state, so the $D_{s0}(2317)$ cannot be identified as the $DK$ molecular state in present calculation. Besides, several resonance states with the diquark-antidiquark configuration are possible in both $ud\bar{s}\bar{c}$ and $uc\bar{d}\bar{s}$ systems. All these open charm bound states and resonances are worth searching in the future experiments.

Full-heavy tetraquarks in constituent quark models

The full-heavy tetraquarks $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ and $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ are systematically investigated within the chiral quark model and the quark delocalization color screening model. Two structures, meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark, are considered. For the full-beauty $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ systems, there is no any bound state or resonance state in two structures in the chiral quark model, while the wide resonances with masses around 19.25 GeV and the quantum numbers $J^{P}=0^{+}$, $1^{+}$, and $2^{+}$ are possible in the quark delocalization color screening model. For the full-charm $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ systems, the results are qualitative consistent in two quark models. No bound state can be found in the meson-meson configuration, while in the diquark-antidiquark configuration there may exist the resonance states, with masses range between $6.3$ GeV to $7.4$ GeV, and the quantum numbers $J^{P}=0^{+}$, $1^{+}$, and $2^{+}$. And the separation between the diquark and the antidiquark indicates that these states may be the compact resonance states. All these full-charm resonance states are consistent with the latest results at LHCb collaboration and are worth searching in the experiments further.

Study of the hidden charm pentaquarks $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ above $4$ GeV

A dynamical calculation of the strange hidden charm pentaquark systems $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ is performed in the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model. The effective potentials between two clusters are calculated to investigate the interaction between the baryons and mesons. The dynamic calculations indicate that the strange hidden charm pentaquark system with $IJ^{P}=0\frac{1}{2}^{-}$ and $IJ^{P}=0\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ can form bound states with the help of the channel-coupling. The energies of these two system are 4094.3 MeV and 4207.4 Mev, respectively. These two $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ states are possible to be intriguing pentaquark candidates which are worth searching in experiments. Whereas, for the systems with isospin $I=1$, the effective potentials of all channels are repulsive, and there is no any bound state for these systems.

Are $N\barΩ$ bound states?

Inspired by the progress of the experimental search of the $NΩ$ dibaryon by the STAR collaboration, we study $N\barΩ$ systems in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. Our results show that the attraction between $N$ and $\barΩ$ is a little bit larger than that between $N$ and $Ω$, which indicates that it is more possible for the $N\barΩ$ than the $NΩ$ system to form bound states. The dynamic calculations state that both the $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and $2^{+}$ $N\barΩ$ systems are bound states. The binding energy of these two states are deeper than that of $NΩ$ systems with $J^{P}=2^{+}$, and the $NΩ$ system with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ is unbound. The calculation of the low-energy scattering phase shifts, scattering length and the effective range also supports the existence of the $N\barΩ$ bound states with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and $2^{+}$. So the $N\barΩ$ states are better hexaquark states and stronger signals are expected in experiments.

Reanalysis of the most strange dibaryon within constituent quark models

The most strange dibaryon $ΩΩ$ with quantum numbers $S=-6$, $I=0$, and $J^{P}=0^{+},~1^{-},~2^{+},~3^{-}$ is reanalyzed in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM) and chiral quark model (ChQM). The $ΩΩ$ dibaryon with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ is bound, and the one with other quantum numbers $J^{P}=1^{-},~2^{+},~3^{-}$ are all unbound in our calculation. The low-energy scattering phase shifts, the scattering length, and the effective range of the $ΩΩ$ dibaryon with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ also support the existence of such strange dibaryon. This dibaryon is showed to be a shallow bound state in QDCSM, while the binding energy becomes much larger in the ChQM by including the effect of the hidden-color channel coupling. And the scalar nonet meson-exchange in the ChQM also provides more attraction for the $ΩΩ$ system. Experimental search for such most strange dibaryon will provide much information for understanding the hadron-hadron interactions in different quark models.

Prediction of $NΩ$-like dibaryons with heavy quarks

Possible $NΩ$-like dibaryons $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ with quantum numbers $IJ^P=\frac{1}{2}2^+$ are investigated within the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. We find both of these two states are bound, and the binding energy increases as the quarks of the system become heavier. The attraction between $N$ and $Ω_{ccc}$ (or $Ω_{bbb}$) mainly comes from the kinetic energy term due to quark delocalization and color screening. The effect of the channel-coupling provides more effective attraction to $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ systems. Besides, the scattering length, the effective range, and the binding energy, obtained from the calculation of the low-energy scattering phase shifts, also supports the existence of the $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ states. All these properties can provide necessary information for experimental search for the $NΩ$-like dibaryons with heavy quarks. And the experimental progress can also check the mechanism of the intermediate-range attraction of the baryon-baryon interaction in quark models.

Analyzing doubly heavy tetra- and penta-quark states by variational method

Motivated by the very recent observations of hidden charm pentaquarks $P_c(4312)^+$, $P_c(4440)^+$ and $P_c(4457)^+$ of the LHCb Collaboration, we systematically study the spectra of the doubly-heavy (with or without charm/bottom numbers) pentaquarks and tetraquarks in non-relativistic constituent quark model. The model independent variational method is employed to solve the Schrödinger equation, where the test functions adopted are symmetric for the light quarks. In our study, the $P_c(4312)^+$ may be assigned as the ground state with spin-parity $\frac{1}{2}^-$ or $\frac{3}{2}^-$, while the $P_c(4440)^+$ and $P_c(4457)^+$ may be assigned as the excited states with $\frac{1}{2}^-$, which might all belong to the sextet with $s_{c\bar{c}}=1$ and $s_\ell=\frac{3}{2}$. It is notable that our working framework is quite similar to that of Hydrogen molecule, but with different potential structure. We also classify these pentaquarks and tetraquarks in light of the heavy quark symmetry and their decay properties are analyzed. Several promising channels for the observation of doubly-heavy pentaquarks and doubly-heavy tetraquarks in experiment are proposed.

Investigate the pentaquark resonance in the $NK$ system

A dynamical calculation of pentaquark systems with quark contents $uudd\bar{s}$ is performed in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model with the help of resonating group method. The effective potentials between baryon and meson clusters are given, and the possible bound states or resonances are investigated. The single calculations show that the $NK^{*}$ with $I=0, J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}$, $ΔK^{*}$ with $I=1, J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}$, and $ΔK^{*}$ with $I=2, J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ are all bound, but they all turns into scattering states by coupling with the corresponding open channels. A possible resonance state $ΔK^{*}$ with $I=1, J^{P}=\frac{5}{2}^{-}$ is proposed. The mass is around $2110.5$ MeV, and the decay modes are $NK$ in $D$-wave or $NKππ$ in $P$-waves.

Looking for the hidden-charm pentaquark resonances in $J/ψp$ scattering

In the framework of quark delocalization color screening model, the three new reported pentaquarks $P_{c}(4312)$, $P_{c}(4440)$, and $P_{c}(4457)$ can be identified as the hidden-charm molecular states $Σ_{c}D$ with $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}$, $Σ_{c}D^{*}$ with $J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-}$, and $Σ_{c}D^{*}$ with $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}$, in the baryon-meson scattering process, respectively. Besides, the $Σ^{*}_{c}D^{*}$ of both $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}$ and $J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ are also possible molecular pentaquarks. Moreover, the calculation is extended to the $P_{c}-$like molecular pentaquarks $P_{b}$. Several states with masses above $11$ GeV and narrow width are obtained. All these heavy pentaquarks are worth searching in the future experiments.

Investigating tetraquarks composed of $us\bar{d}\bar{b}$ and $ud\bar{s}\bar{b}$

In the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model, we investigate tetraquarks composed of $us\bar{d}\bar{b}$ and $ud\bar{s}\bar{b}$ in two structures: meson-meson structure and diquark-antidiquark structure. Neither bound state nor resonance state is found in the system composed of $us\bar{d}\bar{b}$. The reported $X(5568)$ cannot be explained as a molecular state or a diquark-antidiquark resonance of $us\bar{d}\bar{b}$ in present calculation. However, two bound states of the diquark-antidiquark structure are obtained in the tetraquarks system composed of $ud\bar{s}\bar{b}$: an $IJ=00$ state with the mass of $5701$ MeV, and an $IJ=01$ state with the mass of $5756$ MeV, which maybe the partners of $X(5568)$ states. Our results indicate that the diquark-antidiquark configuration would be a good choice for the tetraquarks $ud\bar{s}\bar{b}$ with quantum numbers $IJ=00$ and $IJ=01$. The tetraquarks composed of $ud\bar{s}\bar{b}$ is more possible to form bound states than the one composed of $us\bar{d}\bar{b}$. These bound states are worth investigating in future experiments.

Hidden-strange molecular states and the $Nϕ$ bound state via a QCD van der Waals force

In this work, we study the hidden-strange molecular states composed of a baryon and a vector meson in a coupled-channel $Nρ-Nω-Nϕ-ΛK^*-ΣK^*$ interaction. With the help of the effective Lagrangians which coupling constants are determined by the SU(3) symmetry, the interaction is constructed and inserted into the quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation to search for poles in the complex plane, which correspond to molecular states. Two poles are found with a spin parity $3/2^-$ near the $Nρ$ and the $ΣK^*$ thresholds, which can be related to the $N(1700)$ and the $N(2100)$, respectively. No pole near the $Nϕ$ threshold can be found if direct interaction between a nucleon and $ϕ$ meson is neglected according to the OZI rule. After introducing the QCD van der Waals force between a nucleon and $ϕ$ meson, a narrow state can be produced near the $Nϕ$ threshold. Inclusion of the QCD van der Waals force changes the line shape of the invariant mass spectrum in the $Nϕ$ channel leading to a worse agreement with the present low-precision data. Future experiments at BelleII, JLab, and other facilities will be very helpful to clarify the existence of these possible hidden-strange molecular states.
