The g-Drazin invertibility in a Banach algebra

We present necessary and sufficient conditions under which the anti-triangular matrix $\left( \begin{array}{cc} a&b 1&0 \end{array} \right)$ over a Banach algebra has g-Drazin inverse. New additive results for g-Drazin inverse are obtained. Then we apply our results to $2\times 2$ operator matrices and generalize many known results, e.g.,~\cite[Theorem 2.2]{D}, ~\cite[Theorem 2.1]{YL} and \cite[Theorem 4.1]{Y}.

Group invertibility of the sum in rings and its applications

We present new additive results for the group invertibility in a ring. Then we apply our results to block operator matrices over Banach spaces and derive the existence of group inverses of $2\times 2$ block operator matrices. These generalize many known results, e.g., Benitez, Liu and Zhu(Linear Multilinear Algebra, {\bf 59}(2011), 279--289) and Zhou, Chen and Zhu(Comm. Algebra, {\bf 48}(2020),676-690).

The group inverse of the sum in a Banach algebra

In this paper, we present new necessary and sufficient conditions under which the sum of two group invertible elements in a Banach algebra has group inverse. We then apply these results to block operator matrices over Banach spaces. The group inverses of certain operator block matrices are thereby obtained. Additionally, this paper extends the results obtained in \cite{L}.

Rings generated by idempotents and nilpotents

We present new characterizations of the rings in which every element is the sum of two idempotents and a nilpotent that commute, and the rings in which every element is the sum of two tripotents and a nilpotent that commute. We prove that such rings are completely determined by the additive decompositions of their square elements.

Generalized Cline's formula and Jacobson's lemma in a ring

We present new generalized Cline's formula and Jacobson's lemma for the g-Drazin inverse in a ring. These extend many known results, e.g., Chen and Abdolyousefi (Generalized Jacobson's Lemma in a Banach algebra, Comm. Algebra, {\bf 49}(2021), 3263--3272), Yan and Zeng (The generalized inverses of the products of two elements in a ring, Turk. J. Math., {\bf 44}(2020), 1744--1756).

Perturbation for group inverse in a Banach algebra

We present new additive results for the group inverse in a Banach algebra under certain perturbations. The upper bound of $\|(a+b)^{\#}-a^d\|$ is thereby given. These extend the main results in [X. New Representation of Drazin Inverse for Block complex matrices

We present a new formula for the Drazin inverse of the sum of two complex matrices under weaker conditions with perturbations. By using this additive results, we establish new representations for the Drazin inverse of 2 \times 2 block complex matrix under certain new conditions involving perturbations.

Generalized Zhou inverses in rings

We introduce and study a new class of generalized inverses in rings. An element $a$ in a ring $R$ has generalized Zhou inverse if there exists $b\in R$ such that $bab=b, b\in comm^2(a), a^n-ab\in \sqrt{J(R)}$ for some $n\in {\Bbb N}$. We prove that $a\in R$ has generalized Zhou inverse if and only if there exists $p=p^2\in comm^2(a)$ such that $a^n-p\in \sqrt{J(R)}$ for some $n\in {\Bbb N}$. Cline's formula and Jacobson's Lemma for generalized Zhou inverses are established. In particular, the Zhou inverse in a ring is characterized.

New characterizations of G-Drazin inverse in Banach algebra

In this paper, we present a new characterization of g-Drazin inverse in a Banach algebra. We prove that an element a is a Banach algebra has g-Drazin inverse if and only if there exists $x\in A$ such that $ax=xa, a-a^2x\in A^{qnil}$. we obtain the sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of the g-Drain inverse for certain $2 \times 2$ anti-triangular matrices over a Banach algebra. These extend the results of Koliha (Glasgow Math. J., 38(1996), 367-381), Nicholson (Comm. Algebra,27(1999), 3583-3592 and Zou et al. (Studia Scient. Math. Hungar., 54(2017,489-508).

Generalized Cline's formula for G-Drazin inverse in a ring

In this paper, we give a generalized Cline's formula for the generalized Drazin inverse. Let $R$ be a ring, and let $a,b,c,d\in R$ satisfying $$\begin{array}{c} (ac)^2 = (db)(ac), (db)^2 = (ac)(db);\\ b(ac)a = b(db)a, c(ac)d = c(db)d.\end{array}$$ Then $ac\in R^d$ if and only if $bd\in R^d$. In this case, $(bd)^d = b((ac)^d)^2 d$. We also present generalized Cline's formulas for Drazin and group inverses. Some weaker conditions in a Banach algebra are also investigated. These extend the main results of Cline's formula on g-Drazin inverse of Liao, Chen and Cui (Bull. Malays. Math. Soc., 37 (2014), 37-42), Lian and Zeng (Turk. J. Math., 40 (2016), 161-165) and Miller and Zguitti (Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo, II. Ser., 67 (2018), 105-114). As an application, new common spectral property of bounded linear operators over Banach spaces are obtained.

Generalized Jacobson's lemma in a Banach algebra

Let A be a Banach algebra, and let a; b; c 2 A satisfying a(ba)^2 = abaca = acaba = (ac)^2a: We prove that 1 - ba\in A^d if and only if 1 - ac \in A^d. In this case, (1-ac)^d =1-a(1-ba)^π(1-α(1+ba))^{-1}bac (1+ac)+a((1-ba)^d)bac. This extends the main result on g-Drazin inverse of Corach (Comm. Algebra, 41(2013), 520{531).

Jacobson's Lemma for the generalized n-strongly Drazin inverse

Let $n\in {\Bbb N}$. An element $a\in R$ has generalized n-strongly Drazin inverse if there exists $x\in R$ such that $xax=x, x\in comm^2(a), a^n-ax\in R^{qnil}.$ For any $a,b\in R$, we prove that $1-ab$ has generalized n-strongly Drazin inverse if and only if $1-ba$ has generalized n-strongly Drazin inverse. Extensions in Banach algebra are also obtained.

Expressions for the g-Drazin inverse in a Banach algebra

We explore the generalized Drazin inverse in a Banach algebra. Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a Banach algebra, and let $a,b\in \mathcal{A}^{d}$. If $ab=λa^πbab^π$ then $a+b\in \mathcal{A}^{d}$. The explicit representation of $(a+b)^d$ is also presented. As applications of our results, we present new representations for the generalized Drazin inverse of a block matrix in a Banach algebra. The main results of Liu and Qin [Representations for the generalized Drazin inverse of the sum in a Banach algebra and its application for some operator matrices, Sci. World J., {\bf 2015}, 156934.8] are extended.

Additive properties of G-Drazin inverse of linear operators

In this paper, we investigate additive properties of generalized Drazin inverse for linear operators in Banach spaces. Generalized Cline's Formula for G-Drazin Inverse

Let $R$ be an associative ring with an identity and suppose that $a,b,c,d \in R$ satisfy $bdb = bac,dbd = acd$. If $ac$ has generalized Drazin ( respectively, pseudo Drazin, Drazin) inverse, we prove that $bd$ has generalized Drazin (respectively, pseudo Drazin, Drazin) inverse. In particular, as applications, we obtain new common spectral properties of bounded linear operators over Banach spaces.

Rings additively generated by idempotents and nilpotents

A ring R is a strongly 2-nil-clean if every element in R is the sum of two idempotents and a nilpotent that commute. A ring R is feebly clean if every element in R is the sum of two orthogonal idempotents and a unit. In this paper, strongly 2-nil-clean rings are studied with an emphasis on their relations with feebly clean rings. This work shows new interesting connections between strongly 2-nil-clean rings and weakly exchange rings
