Torelli theorem for moduli stacks of vector bundles and principal G-bundles

Given any irreducible smooth complex projective curve $X$, of genus at least $2$, consider the moduli stack of vector bundles on $X$ of fixed rank and determinant. It is proved that the isomorphism class of the stack uniquely determines the isomorphism class of the curve $X$ and the rank of the vector bundles. The case of trivial determinant, rank $2$ and genus $2$ is specially interesting: the curve can be recovered from the moduli stack, but not from the moduli space (since this moduli space is $\mathbb{P}^3$ thus independently of the curve). We also prove a Torelli theorem for moduli stacks of principal $G$-bundles on a curve of genus at least $3$, where $G$ is any non-abelian reductive group.

Logarithmic Cartan geometry on complex manifolds with trivial logarithmic tangent bundle

Let $M$ be a compact complex manifold, and $D\, \subset\, M$ a reduced normal crossing divisor on it, such that the logarithmic tangent bundle $TM(-\log D)$ is holomorphically trivial. Let ${\mathbb A}$ denote the maximal connected subgroup of the group of all holomorphic automorphisms of $M$ that preserve the divisor $D$. Take a holomorphic Cartan geometry $(E_H,\,Θ)$ of type $(G,\, H)$ on $M$, where $H\, \subset\, G$ are complex Lie groups. We prove that $(E_H,\,Θ)$ is isomorphic to $(ρ^* E_H,\,ρ^* Θ)$ for every $ρ\, \in\, \mathbb A$ if and only if the principal $H$--bundle $E_H$ admits a logarithmic connection $Δ$ singular on $D$ such that $Θ$ is preserved by the connection $Δ$.

Direct image of structure sheaf and parabolic stability

Let $f : X \rightarrow Y$ be a dominant generically smooth morphism between irreducible smooth projective curves over an algebraically closed field $k$ such that ${\rm Char}(k)> \text{degree}(f)$ if the characteristic of $k$ is nonzero. We prove that $(f_*{\mathcal O}_X)/{\mathcal O}_Y$ equipped with a natural parabolic structure is parabolic polystable. Several conditions are given that ensure that the parabolic vector bundle $(f_*{\mathcal O}_X)/{\mathcal O}_Y$ is actually parabolic stable.

Exploring strong locality : Quantum state discrimination regime and beyond

Based on the conviction of switching information from locally accessible to locally hidden environs, the concept of hidden nonlocality activation has recently been highlighted by Bandyopadhyay et al. in [Phys. Rev. A 104, L050201 (2021)]. They have demonstrated that a certain locally distinguishable set of pure quantum states can be transformed into a locally indistinguishable set with certainty through orthogonality preserving local measurements (OPLMs). This transformation makes the set locally inaccessible, despite being locally accessible before. This phenomenon is defined as the activation of hidden nonlocality. In this paper, we present two classes of locally distinguishable sets within $(2m+1) \otimes 2 \otimes (2m+1)$ systems. One class reveals nonlocality through local operations, whereas the other requires joint measurements for it. As the later class depends on nonlocal operations to exhibit nonlocality, it arguably has a lower degree of nonlocality, and accordingly, can be considered as more local compared to the first class. This analysis exhibits a stronger manifestation of locality by elucidating the nuanced interplay between these distinct local phenomena within the framework of quantum state discrimination. Furthermore, we also explore their significant applications in the context of data hiding. Additionally, we introduce the concept of \emph{``strong local"} set and compare it with various activatable sets, highlighting differences in terms of locality.

Geometry of $K$-trivial Moishezon manifolds : decomposition theorem and holomorphic geometric structures

Let $X$ be a compact complex manifold such that its canonical bundle $K_X$ is numerically trivial. Assume additionally that $X$ is Moishezon or $X$ is Fujiki with dimension at most four. Using the MMP and classical results in foliation theory, we prove a Beauville-Bogomolov type decomposition theorem for $X$. We deduce that holomorphic geometric structures of affine type on $X$ are in fact locally homogeneous away from an analytic subset of complex codimension at least two, and that they cannot be rigid unless $X$ is an étale quotient of a compact complex torus. Moreover, we establish a characterization of torus quotients using the vanishing of the first two Chern classes which is valid for any compact complex $n$-folds of algebraic dimension at least $n-1$. Finally, we show that a compact complex manifold with trivial canonical bundle bearing a rigid geometric structure must have infinite fundamental group if either $X$ is Fujiki, $X$ is a threefold, or $X$ is of algebraic dimension at most one.

Infinitesimal deformations of some quot schemes, II

Let $C$ be an irreducible smooth complex projective curve of genus $g$, with $g_C \geqslant 2$. Let $E$ be a vector bundle on $C$ of rank $r$, with $r\geqslant 2$. Let $\mc Q:=\mc Q(E,\,d)$ be the Quot Scheme parameterizing torsion quotients of $E$ of degree $d$. We explicitly describe all deformations of $\mc Q$.

Holomorphic geometric structures on Oeljeklaus-Toma manifolds

We prove that any holomorphic geometric structure of affine type on an Oeljeklaus- Toma manifold is locally homogeneous. For locally conformal Kähler Oeljeklaus-Toma manifolds we prove that all holomorphic geometric structures, and also all holomorphic Cartan geometries, on them are locally homogeneous.

Theta bundle, Quillen connection and the Hodge theoretic projective structure

There are two canonical projective structures on any compact Riemann surface of genus at least two: one coming from the uniformization theorem, and the other from Hodge theory. They produce two (different) families of projective structures over the moduli space $M_g$ of compact Riemann surfaces. A recent work of Biswas, Favale, Pirola, and Torelli shows that families of projective structures over $M_g$ admit an equivalent characterization in terms of complex connections on the dual $\mathcal{L}$ of the determinant of the Hodge line bundle over $M_g$; the same work gave the connection on $\mathcal L$ corresponding to the projective structures coming from uniformization. Here we construct the connection on $\mathcal L$ corresponding to the family of Hodge theoretic projective structures. This connection is described in three different ways: firstly as the connection induced on $\mathcal L$ by the Chern connection of the $L^2$-metric on the Hodge bundle, secondly as an appropriate root of the Quillen metric induced by the (square of the) Theta line bundle on the universal family of abelian varieties, endowed with the natural Hermitian metric given by the polarization, and finally as Quillen connection gotten using the Arakelov metric on the universal curve, modified by Faltings' delta invariant.

Stability of the Parabolic Picard Sheaf

Let $X$ be a smooth irreducible complex projective curve of genus $g\,\geq\, 2$, and let $D\,=\,x_1+\dots+x_r$ be a reduced effective divisor on $X$. Denote by $U_α(L)$ the moduli space of stable parabolic vector bundles on $X$ of rank $n$, determinant $L$ of degree $d$ with flag type $\{\{k^i_j\}_{j=1}^{m_i}\}_{i=1}^r$. Assume that the greatest common divisor of the collection of integers $\{\text{degree}(L),\, \{\{k^i_j\}_{j=1}^{m_i}\}_{i=1}^r\}$ is $1$; this condition ensures that there is a Poincaré parabolic vector bundle on $X\times U_α(L)$. The direct image, to $U_α(L)$, of the vector bundle underlying the Poincaré parabolic vector bundle is called the parabolic Picard sheaf. We prove that the parabolic Picard sheaf is stable.

On compact complex surfaces with finite homotopy rank-sum

A topological space (not necessarily simply connected) is said to have finite homotopy rank-sum if the sum of the ranks of all higher homotopy groups (from the second homotopy group onward) is finite. In this article, we characterize the smooth compact complex Kaehler surfaces having finite homotopy rank-sum. We also prove the Steinness of the universal cover of these surfaces assuming holomorphic convexity of the universal cover.

On a fibre bundle version of the Caporaso-Harris formula

The Caporaso-Harris formula gives a recursive algorithm to enumerate delta nodal degree d curves in P^2. The recursion is obtained in terms of curves of lower degree that are tangent to a given divisor. This paper presents two generalizations of this method. The first result is on enumeration of one cuspidal curves on P^2, and the second result is an extension to the fiber bundle setting. We solve the question of counting the characteristic number planar nodal cubics in P^3 by extending the idea of Caporaso-Harris.

Anti-ample bundle, nef vector bundle, big vector bundle

We prove that the direct image of an anti-ample vector bundle is anti-ample under any finite flat morphism of non-singular projective varieties. In the second part we prove some properties of big and nef vector bundles. In particular it is shown that the tensor product of a nef vector bundle with a nef and big vector bundle is again nef and big. This generalizes a result of Schneider.

Quot scheme and deformation quantization

Let $X$ be a compact connected Riemann surface, and let ${\mathcal Q}(r,d)$ denote the quot scheme parametrizing the torsion quotients of ${\mathcal O}^{\oplus r}_X$ of degree $d$. Given a projective structure $P$ on $X$, we show that the cotangent bundle $T^*{\mathcal U}$ of a certain nonempty Zariski open subset ${\mathcal U}\, \subset\, {\mathcal Q}(r,d)$, equipped with the natural Liouville symplectic form, admits a canonical deformation quantization. When $r\,=\,1\,=\, d$, then ${\mathcal Q}(r,d)\,=\, X$; this case was addressed earlier in \cite{BB}.

Equivariant vector bundles over the complex projective line

Let $G$ be a finite abelian group acting faithfully on ${\mathbb C}{\mathbb P}^1$ via holomorphic automorphisms. In \cite{DF2} the $G$--equivariant algebraic vector bundles on $G$--invariant affine open subsets of ${\mathbb C}{\mathbb P}^1$ were classified. We classify the $G$--equivariant algebraic vector bundles on ${\mathbb C}{\mathbb P}^1$.

Chen--Ruan cohomology and orbifold Euler characteristic of moduli spaces of parabolic bundles

We consider the moduli space of stable parabolic Higgs bundles of rank $r$ and fixed determinant, and having full flag quasi-parabolic structures over an arbitrary parabolic divisor on a smooth complex projective curve $X$ of genus $g$, with $g\,\geq\, 2$. The group $Γ$ of $r$-torsion points of the Jacobian of $X$ acts on this moduli space. We describe the connected components of the various fixed point loci of this moduli under non-trivial elements from $Γ$. When the Higgs field is zero, or in other words when we restrict ourselves to the moduli of stable parabolic bundles, we also compute the orbifold Euler characteristic of the corresponding global quotient orbifold. We also describe the Chen--Ruan cohomology groups of this orbifold under certain conditions on the rank and degree, and describe the Chen--Ruan product structure in special cases.

In \cite{armstrong}, M. Armstrong proved a beautiful result describing fundamental groups of quotient spaces. In this paper we prove an analogue of Armstrong's theorem in the setting of $F$-divided \cite{dS07} and essentially finite \cite{Nori76} fundamental group schemes.
