The extension functors between categories of Cartan geometries can be used to define different categories of Cartan geometries with additional morphisms. The Cartan geometries modeled on skeletons can be used for the description of such categories of Cartan geometries and therefore we develop the theory of Cartan geometries modeled on skeletons, in detail. In particular, we show that there are functors from the categories of Cartan geometries with morphisms induced by extension functors to certain categories of Cartan geometries modeled on skeletons with the usual morphisms. We study how to compute (infinitesimal) automorphisms of Cartan geometries modeled on skeletons and how to compute the morphisms induced by the extension functors for particular Cartan geometries. Some examples and applications of the morphisms induced by extension functors are presented in the setting of the Riemannian geometries.
In this article, we summarize the results on symmetric conformal geometries. We review the results following from the general theory of symmetric parabolic geometries and prove several new results for symmetric conformal geometries. In particular, we show that each symmetric conformal geometry is either locally flat or covered by a pseudo-Riemannian symmetric space, where the covering is a conformal map. We construct examples of locally flat symmetric conformal geometries that are not pseudo-Riemannian symmetric spaces.
We consider automorphisms of homogeneous parabolic geometries with a fixed point. Parabolic geometries carry the distinguished distributions and we study those automorphisms which enjoy natural actions on the distributions at the fixed points. We describe the sets of such automorphisms on homogeneous parabolic geometries in detail and classify, whether there are non--flat homogeneous parabolic geometries carrying such automorphisms. We present two general constructions of such geometries and we provide complete classifications for the types (G,P) of the parabolic geometries that have G simple and the automorphisms are of order 2.
In this article, we discuss which semisimple locally symmetric spaces admit an AHS--structure invariant to local symmetries. We classify them for all types of AHS--structures and determine possible equivalence classes of such AHS--structures.
We introduce and discuss (local) symmetries of geometric structures. These symmetries generalize the classical (locally) symmetric spaces to various other geometries. Our main tools are homogeneous Cartan geometries and their explicit description. This allows us to describe the structure of symmetric geometric structures and to provide a general construction of such structures. Since we can view the classical (locally) symmetric spaces as special case, this allows us to classify various geometric structures on semisimple symmetric spaces. Then we investigate the case of symmetric parabolic geometries in detail and obtain classification of symmetric AHS-structures and symmetric parabolic contact geometries in the semisimple cases.
First we introduce a generalization of symmetric spaces to parabolic geometries. We provide construction of such parabolic geometries starting with classical symmetric spaces and we show that all regular parabolic geometries with smooth systems of involutive symmetries can be obtained this way. Further, we investigate the case of parabolic contact geometries in great detail and we provide the full classification of those with semisimple groups of symmetries without complex factors. Finally, we explicitly construct all non-trivial contact geometries with non-complex simple groups of symmetries. We also indicate geometric interpretations of some of them.
A reflexion space is generalization of a symmetric space introduced by O. Loos. We generalize locally symmetric spaces to local reflexion spaces in the similar way. We investigate, when local reflexion spaces are equivalently given by a locally flat Cartan connection of certain type.
