Higgs self-coupling in the MSSM and NMSSM after the LHC Run 1

Measuring the Higgs self-coupling is one of the crucial physics goals at the LHC Run-2 and other future colliders. In this work, we attempt to figure out the size of SUSY effects on the trilinear self-coupling of the 125 GeV Higgs boson in the MSSM and NMSSM after the LHC Run-1. Taking account of current experimental constraints, such as the Higgs data, flavor constraints, electroweak precision observables and dark matter detections, we obtain the observations: (1) In the MSSM, the ratio of $λ^{MSSM}_{3h}/λ^{SM}_{3h}$ has been tightly constrained by the LHC data, which can be only slightly smaller than 1 and minimally reach 97\%; (2) In the NMSSM with $λ<0.7$, a sizable reduction of $λ^{NMSSM}_{3h_2}/λ^{SM}_{3h_2}$ can occur and minimally reach 10\% when the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass $m_{h_1}$ is close to the SM-like Higgs boson $m_{h_2}$ due to the large mixing angle between the singlet and doublet Higgs bosons; (3) In the NMSSM with $λ>0.7$, a large enhancement or reduction $-1.1<λ^{NMSSM}_{3h_1}/λ^{SM}_{3h_1}<2$ can occur, which is accompanied by a sizable change of $h_1τ^+τ^-$ coupling. The future colliders, such as the HL-LHC and ILC, will have the capacity to test these large deviations in the NMSSM.

Reconcile muon g-2 anomaly with LHC data in SUGRA with generalized gravity mediation

From generalized gravity mediation we build a SUGRA scenario in which the gluino is much heavier than the electroweak gauginos at the GUT scale. We find that such a non-universal gaugino scenario with very heavy gluino at the GUT scale can be naturally obtained with proper high dimensional operators in the framework of SU(5) GUT. Then, due to the effects of heavy gluino, at the weak scale all colored sparticles are heavy while the uncolored sparticles are light, which can explain the Brookhaven muon g-2 measurement while satisfying the collider constraints (both the 125 GeV Higgs mass and the direct search limits of sparticles) and dark matter requirements. We also find that, in order to explain the muon g-2 measurement, the neutralino dark matter is lighter than 200 GeV in our scenario, which can be mostly covered by the future Xenon1T experiment.

Heavy colored SUSY partners from deflected anomaly mediation

We propose a deflected anomaly mediation scenario from SUSY QCD which can lead to both positive and negative deflection parameters (there is a smooth transition between these two deflection parameter regions by adjusting certain couplings). Such a scenario can naturally give a SUSY spectrum in which all the colored sparticles are heavy while the sleptons are light. As a result, the discrepancy between the Brookheaven $g_μ-2$ experiment and LHC data can be reconciled in this scenario. We also find that the parameter space for explaining the $g_μ-2$ anomaly at $1σ$ level can be fully covered by the future LUX-ZEPLIN 7.2 Ton experiment.

Explanation of the ATLAS Z-peaked excess in the NMSSM

Recently the ATLAS collaboration reported a $3σ$ excess in the leptonic-$Z+jets+E_{T}^{miss}$ channel. This may be interpreted in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) by gluino pair production with the decay chain $\tilde{g} \to q \bar{q} \tildeχ_2^0 \to q \bar{q} Z \tildeχ_1^0$, where $\tildeχ_1^0$ and $\tildeχ_2^0$ denote the lightest and the next-to-lightest neutralinos with singlino and bino as their dominant components respectively. After exploring the relevant parameter space of the NMSSM by considering the constraints from the ATLAS searches for $jets + E_{T}^{miss}$ signals, we conclude that the NMSSM is able to explain the excess at $1 σ$ level with the number of the signal events reaching its measured central value in optimal cases, and the best explanation comes from a compressed spectrum such as $m_{\tilde{g}} \simeq 650 {\rm GeV}$, $m_{\tildeχ_2^0} \simeq 565 {\rm GeV}$ and $m_{\tildeχ_1^0} \simeq 465 {\rm GeV}$. We also check the consistency of the ATLAS results with the null result of the CMS on-$Z$ search. We find that under the CMS limits at $95\%$ C.L., the event number of the ATLAS on-$Z$ signal can still reach 11 in our scenario, which is about $1.2 σ$ away from the measured central value.

hhh Coupling in SUSY models after LHC run I

We examine the Higgs triple coupling in MSSM and NMSSM under current constraints, which include the LHC measurements, Higgs data, B physics, electroweak precision observables, relic density and so on. The ratio $λ^{\rm MSSM}_{hhh}/λ^{\rm SM}_{hhh}$ is above 0.97, due to the highly constrained parameter space. While the ratio $λ^{\rm NMSSM}_{hhh}/λ^{\rm SM}_{hhh}$ can reach 0.1 under current constraints. The precise measurement in future collider will give a tighter constraint to the Higgs triple coupling in MSSM and NMSSM.

SUSY explanation of the Fermi Galactic Center Excess and its test at LHC Run-II

We explore the explanation of the Fermi Galactic Center Excess (GCE) in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We systematically consider various experimental constraints including the Dark Matter (DM) relic density, DM direct detection results and indirect searches from dwarf galaxies. We find that, for DM with mass ranging from $30 {\rm GeV}$ to $40 {\rm GeV}$, the GCE can be explained by the annihilation $χχ\to a^\ast \to b \bar{b}$ only when the CP-odd scalar satisfies $m_a \simeq 2 m_χ$, and in order to obtain the measured DM relic density, a sizable $Z$-mediated contribution to DM annihilation must intervene in the early universe. As a result, the higgsino mass $μ$ is upper bounded by about 350 GeV. Detailed Monte Carlo simulations on the $3\ell+ E_T^{miss}$ signal from neutralino/chargino associated production at 14-TeV LHC indicate that the explanation can be mostly (completely) excluded at $95\%$ C.L. with an integrated luminosity of 100(200) fb$^{-1}$. We also discuss the implication of possible large $Z$ coupling to DM for the DM-nucleon spin dependent (SD) scattering cross section, and find that although the current experimental bounds on $σ^{\rm SD}_p$ is less stringent than the spin independent (SI) results, the future XENON-1T and LZ data may be capable of testing most parts of the GCE-favored parameter region.

A split SUSY model from SUSY GUT

We propose to split the sparticle spectrum from the hierarchy between the GUT scale and the Planck scale. A split supersymmetric model, which gives non-universal gaugino masses, is built with proper high dimensional operators in the framework of SO(10) GUT. Based on a calculation of two-loop beta functions for gauge couplings (taking into account all weak scale threshold corrections), we check the gauge coupling unification and dark matter constraints (relic density and direct detections). We find that our scenario can achieve the gauge coupling unification and satisfy the dark matter constraints in some part of parameter space. We also examine the sensitivity of the future XENON1T experiment and find that the currently allowed parameter space in our scenario can be covered for a neutralino dark matter below about 1.0 TeV.

Pseudo-goldstino and electroweakinos via VBF processes at LHC

The multi-sector SUSY breaking predicts pseudo-goldstino which can couple to the visible sector more strongly than the ordinary gavitino and thus induce the decays of the lightest neutralino and chargino (collectively called electroweakinos) inside the detector. In this note we study the electroweakino pair productions via vector boson fusion (VBF) processes followed by decays to pseudo-goldstino at the LHC. Our Monte Carlo simulations show that at the 14 TeV LHC with 3000 fb^{-1} luminosity the dominant production channel pp->chargino+neutralino+2 jets can have a statistical significance above 2-sigma while other production channels are not accessible.

Split Supersymmetry Under GUT and Current Dark Matter Constraints

We recalculate the two-loop beta functions for three gauge couplings taking into account all low energy threshold corrections in split supersymmetry (split-SUSY) which assumes a very high scalar mass scale M_S. We find that, in split-SUSY with gaugino mass unification assumption and a large M_S, the gauge coupling unification requires a lower bound on gaugino mass. Combined with the constraints from the dark matter relic density and direct detection limits, we find that split-SUSY is very restricted and for dark matter mass below 1 TeV the allowed parameter space can be fully covered by XENON-1T(2017).

SUSY effects in Higgs productions at high energy $e^+e^-$ colliders

Considering the constraints from collider experiments and dark matter detections, we investigate the SUSY effects in the Higgs productions $e^+e^- \to Zh$ at an $e^+e^-$ collider with a center-of-mass energy above 240 GeV and $γγ\to h \to b\bar{b}$ at a photon collider with a center-of-mass energy above 125 GeV. In the parameter space allowed by current experiments, we find that the SUSY corrections to $e^+e^- \to Zh$ can reach a few percent and the production rate of $γγ\to h \to b\bar{b}$ can be enhanced by a factor of 1.2 over the SM prediction. We also calculate the exotic Higgs productions $e^+e^-\to Zh_1$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow A_1h$ in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) ($h$ is the SM-like Higgs, $h_1$ and $A_1$ are respectively the CP-even and CP-odd singlet-dominant Higgs bosons which can be much lighter than $h$). We find that at a 250 GeV $e^+e^-$ collider the production rates of $e^+e^-\rightarrow Zh_1$ and $e^+e^-\to A_1h$ can reach 60 fb and 0.1 fb, respectively.

A new approach for detecting compressed bino/wino at the LHC

In some supersymmetric models like split supersymmetry or models with non-universal gaugino mass, bino (LSP) and winos (NLSP) may have rather small mass splitting in order to provide the correct dark matter relic density through bino/wino co-annihilation. Such a scenario with the compressed bino/wino is difficult to explore at the LHC. In this work we propose to probe this scenario from $pp \to j \tildeχ^0_2 \tildeχ^\pm_1$ followed by $\tildeχ^0_2 \to γ\tildeχ^0_1$ and $\tildeχ^\pm_1 \to W^{*}\tildeχ^0_1\to \ell^\pm ν\tildeχ^0_1$ (this method is also applicable to the compressed bino/higgsino scenario). Through a detailed Monte Carlo simulation for both the signal and the backgrounds, we find that for a mass splitting $ΔM \sim 5-15$ GeV between bino (LSP) and wino (NLSP), the 14 TeV LHC with luminosity of 500$fb^{-1}$ can probe the wino up to 150 GeV (the sensitivity can reach $5σ$ for $ΔM = 5$ GeV and $2σ$ for $ΔM = 15$ GeV). We also investigate the dark matter detection sensitivities for this scenario and find that the planned XENON-1T(2017) cannot fully cover the parameter space with wino below 150 GeV allowed by relic density and the LUX limits.

Singlet extension of the MSSM as a solution to the small cosmological scale anomalies

In this work we show that the general singlet extension of the MSSM can naturally provide a self-interacting singlino dark matter to solve the small cosmological scale anomalies (a large Sommerfeld enhancement factor can also be obtained). However, we find that the NMSSM (the singlet extension of the MSSM with Z3 symmetry) cannot achieve this due to the restricted parameter space. In our analysis we introduce the concept of symmetric and antisymmetric viscosity cross sections to deal with the non-relativistic Majorana-fermion dark matter scattering.

Pseudo-goldstino and electroweak gauginos at the LHC

The multi-sector SUSY breaking predicts the existence of pseudo-goldstino, which could couple more strongly to visible fields than ordinary gravitino. Then the lightest neutralino and chargino can decay into a pseudo-goldstino plus a Z-boson, Higgs boson or W-boson. In this note we perform a Monte Carlo simulation for the direct productions of the lightest neutralino and chargino followed by the decays to pseudo-goldstino. Considering scenarios with higgsino-like, bino-like or wino-like lightest neutralino, we find that the signal-to-background ratio at the high luminosity LHC is between 6% and 25% and the statistical significance can be above 5-sigma.

SUSY induced top quark FCNC decay $t \to c h$ after Run I of LHC

In light of the Higgs discovery and the nonobservation of sparticles at the LHC, we revisit the SUSY induced top quark flavor changing decay into the Higgs boson. We perform a scan over the relevant SUSY parameter space by considering the constraints from the Higgs mass measurement, the LHC search for SUSY, the vacuum stability, the precision electro-weak observables as well as $B \to X_s γ$. We have the following observations: (1) In the MSSM, the branching ratio of $ t \to c h$ can only reach $3.0\times10^{-6}$, which is about one order smaller than previous results obtained before the advent of the LHC. Among the considered constraints, the Higgs mass and the LHC search for sparticles are found to play an important role in limiting the prediction. (2) In the singlet extension of the MSSM, since the squark sector is less constrained by the Higgs mass, the branching ratio of $t \to c h$ can reach the order of $10^{-5}$ in the allowed parameter space. (3) The chiral-conserving mixings $δ_{LL}$ and $δ_{RR}$ may have remanent effects on $t \to c h$ in heavy SUSY limit. In the MSSM with squarks and gluino above 3 TeV and meanwhile the CP-odd Higgs boson mass around 1 TeV, the branching ratio of $t\to c h$ can still reach the order of $10^{-8}$ under the constraints.

New Insights of Electroweak Phase Transition in NMSSM

We perform a detailed semi-analytical analysis of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) property in NMSSM, which serves as a good benchmark model in which the 126 GeV Higgs mixes with a singlet. In this case, a strongly first order electroweak phase transition (SFOEWPT) is achieved by the tree-level effects and the phase transition strength $γ_c$ is determined by the vacua energy gap at $T=0$. We make an anatomy of the energy gap at both tree-level and loop-level and extract out a dimensionless phase transition parameter $R_κ\equiv 4 κv_s / A_κ$, which can replace $A_κ$ in the parameterization and affect the light CP odd and even Higgs spectra. We find that SFOEWPT only occurs in $R_κ\sim -1$ and positive $R_κ\lesssim \mathcal{O}(10)$, which in the non-PQ limit case would prefer either a relatively light CP odd or CP even Higgs boson $\sim (60, 100)$ GeV, therefore serves as a smoking gun signal and requires new search strategies at the LHC.

A light SUSY dark matter after CDMS-II, LUX and LHC Higgs data

In SUSY, a light dark matter is usually accompanied by light scalars to achieve the correct relic density, which opens new decay channels of the SM like Higgs boson. Under current experimental constraints including the latest LHC Higgs data and the dark matter relic density, we examine the status of a light neutralino dark matter in the framework of NMSSM and confront it with the direct detection results of CoGeNT, CDMS-II and LUX. We have the following observations: (i) A dark matter as light as 8 GeV is still allowed and its scattering cross section off the nucleon can be large enough to explain the CoGeNT/CDMS-II favored region; (ii) The LUX data can exclude a sizable part of the allowed parameter space, but still leaves a light dark matter viable; (iii) The SM-like Higgs boson can decay into the light dark matter pair with an invisible branching ratio reaching 30% under the current LHC Higgs data, which may be tested at the 14 TeV LHC experiment.

Full one-loop electroweak corrections to $e^+e^- \to ZHγ$ at a Higgs factory

Motivated by the future precision test of the Higgs boson at an $e^+e^-$ Higgs factory, we calculate the production $e^+e^- \to ZHγ$ in the Standard Model with complete next-to-leading order electroweak corrections. We find that for $\sqrt{s}=240$ (350) GeV the cross section of this production is sizably reduced by the electroweak corrections, which is $1.03$ (5.32) fb at leading order and 0.72 (4.79) fb at next-to-leading order. The transverse momentum distribution of the photon in the final states is also presented.

Higgs pair production with SUSY QCD correction: revisited under current experimental constraints

We consider the current experimental constraints on the parameter space of the MSSM and NMSSM. Then in the allowed parameter space we examine the Higgs pair production at the 14 TeV LHC via $b\bar{b}\to hh$ ($h$ is the 125 GeV SM-like Higg boson) with one-loop SUSY QCD correction and compare it with the production via $gg\to hh$. We obtain the following observations: (i) For the MSSM the production rate of $b\bar{b} \to hh$ can reach 50 fb and thus can be competitive with $gg \to hh$, while for the NMSSM $b\bar{b} \to hh$ has a much smaller rate than $gg \to hh$ due to the suppression of the $hb\bar{b}$ coupling; (ii) The SUSY-QCD correction to $b\bar{b} \to hh$ is sizable, which can reach $45\%$ for the MSSM and $15\%$ for the NMSSM within the $1σ$ region of the Higgs data; (iii) In the heavy SUSY limit (all soft mass parameters become heavy), the SUSY effects decouple rather slowly from the Higgs pair production (especially the $gg\to hh$ process), which, for $M_{\rm SUSY}=5$ TeV and $m_A<1$ TeV, can enhance the production rate by a factor of 1.5 and 1.3 for the MSSM and NMSSM, respectively. So, the Higgs pair production may be helpful for unraveling the effects of heavy SUSY.
