Spanning $H$-subdivisions and perfect $H$-subdivision tilings in dense digraphs

Given a (di)graph $H$, we say that a (di)graph $H^\prime$ is an $H$-subdivision if $H^\prime$ is obtained from $H$ by replacing one or more edges with internally vertex-disjoint path(s). Pavez-Signé conjectured that for every $\varepsilon>0$, there exists a constant $C_0>0$ such that for every graph $H$ with $h$ edges and no isolated vertices, if $G$ is a graph on $n\geq C_0h$ vertices and minimum degree $δ(G)\geq(1+\varepsilon)\frac{n}{2}$, then $G$ contains a spanning $H$-subdivision. This conjecture was later resolved by Lee [European J. Combin. \textbf{124} (2025), 104059]. In this paper, we strengthen Lee's result. Specifically, we prove that for any digraph $D$ on $n\geq C_0h$ vertices, if the minimum semi-degree of $D$ is at least $\frac{n+h}{2}-1$, then $D$ contains a spanning $H$-subdivision. The lower bound on the minimum semi-degree is best possible. Furthermore, we show that there exist constants $C>0$ and $α, β\in(0, 1)$ such that for any integer partition $n=n_1+\cdots+n_m\geq Cm$ with $n_i\geq|V(H)|+3h$ for each $i$, and $\sum_{n_i<αn}n_i\leqβn$, if a digraph of order $n\geq Cm$ has minimum semi-degree at least $\frac{n+m+h}{2}-1$, then it contains $m$ vertex-disjoint $H$-subdivisions whose orders are $n_1, \ldots, n_m$, respectively. The bound $\frac{n+m+h}{2}-1$ is also optimal. This work partly answers a conjecture of Lee [Combin. Probab. Comput. \textbf{34} (2025), 421--444] and generalizes a recent result from the same paper.

On the 2-Linkage Problem for Split Digraphs

A digraph is {\bf \( k \)-linked} if for arbitary two disjoint vertex sets \(\{s_1, \ldots, s_k\}\) and \(\{t_1, \ldots, t_k\}\), there exist vertex-disjoint directed paths \(P_1, \ldots, P_k\) {such that \(P_i\) is a directed path from \(s_i\) to \(t_i\) for each $i\in [k]$}. A {\bf split digraph} is a digraph \( D = (V_1, V_2; A) \) whose vertex set is a disjoint union of two nonempty sets \( V_1 \) and \( V_2 \) such that \( V_1 \) is an independent set and the subdigraph induced by \( V_2 \) is semicomplete (no pair of non-adjacent vertices). A {\bf semicomplete split digraph} is a split digraph \( D = (V_1, V_2; A) \) in which every vertex in the independent set \( V_1 \) is adjacent to every vertex in \( V_2 \). {Semicomplete split digraphs form an important subclass of the class of semicomplete multipartite digraphs.} In this paper, we prove that every 6-strong split digraph is 2-linked. This solves a problem posed by Bang-Jensen and Wang [J. Graph Theory, 2025]. We also show that every 5-strong semicomplete split digraph is 2-linked. This bound is tight already for semicomplete digraphs.

Multilingual Large Language Models do not comprehend all natural languages to equal degrees

Large Language Models (LLMs) play a critical role in how humans access information. While their core use relies on comprehending written requests, our understanding of this ability is currently limited, because most benchmarks evaluate LLMs in high-resource languages predominantly spoken by Western, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, and Democratic (WEIRD) communities. The default assumption is that English is the best-performing language for LLMs, while smaller, low-resource languages are linked to less reliable outputs, even in multilingual, state-of-the-art models. To track variation in the comprehension abilities of LLMs, we prompt 3 popular models on a language comprehension task across 12 languages, representing the Indo-European, Afro-Asiatic, Turkic, Sino-Tibetan, and Japonic language families. Our results suggest that the models exhibit remarkable linguistic accuracy across typologically diverse languages, yet they fall behind human baselines in all of them, albeit to different degrees. Contrary to what was expected, English is not the best-performing language, as it was systematically outperformed by several Romance languages, even lower-resource ones. We frame the results by discussing the role of several factors that drive LLM performance, such as tokenization, language distance from Spanish and English, size of training data, and data origin in high- vs. low-resource languages and WEIRD vs. non-WEIRD communities.

PANDA-film: an automated system for electrodeposition of polymer thin films and their wetting analysis

Thin polymer films are widely used as functional and protective coatings. However, determining the composition and processing conditions that produce a desired function is a tedious process due to the large number of factors that must be considered and the manual nature of most synthesis and characterization methods. Self-driving labs (SDLs), or robotic systems that prepare and test materials samples, are designed to overcome this bottleneck by enabling the efficient exploration of complex parameter spaces. In this paper, we report the development and testing of the polymer analysis and discovery array (PANDA)-film, a modular SDL for electrochemically synthesizing polymer films and then determining their water contact angle as a measure of surface energy. The system is designed to be highly modular and based upon a lowcost gantry platform to facilitate adoption. In addition to validating fluid handling and electrochemical tasks, we introduce two novel modular capabilities that enable PANDA-film to run sustained campaigns to study the wetting properties of films: (1) an electromagnetic capping/decapping system to mitigate fluid evaporation, and (2) a top-down optical method to determine water contact angle based upon reflectance. These capabilities are validated by depositing and characterizing a poly(allyl methacrylate) (PAMA) film using electrodeposition of polymer networks (EPoN). Comprehensive details for replicating the hardware and software of PANDA-film are included.

Semi-Degree Condition for Arbitrary $H$-Linked Oriented Graphs

Let $ H $ be a multi-digraph on $ h $ vertices with $ q $ arcs. An \textbf{$H$-subdivision} in a digraph $D$ is a subdigraph obtained by replacing every arc $uv$ of $H$ with a path from $u$ to $v$ in $D$ such that these paths are pairwise internally vertex-disjoint. A digraph $ D $ is \textbf{arbitrary $ H $-linked} if, for every injection $ f: V(H) \to V(D) $, there exists an $ H $-subdivision in $ D $ such that each vertex $ v \in V(H) $ is mapped to $ f(v) \in V(D) $, and the length of every subdivision path can be arbitrarily specified as {an integer \(l \geq 4\)}. An oriented graph is a digraph without 2-cycles. Keevash, Kühn, and Osthus proved that every sufficiently large oriented graph $ D $ of order $ n $ with $δ^0(D) \geq \frac{3n-4}{8}$ contains a Hamilton cycle (i.e., a $\overset{\leftrightarrow}{K_2}$-subdivision). Subsequently, Kelly, Kühn, and Osthus showed that such oriented graphs {are also arbitrary $ H $-linked, where $H$ is a loop}. Motivated by these results, we establish a minimum semi-degree condition for arbitrary $ H $-linked oriented graphs: there exists $ n_0 = n_0(h,q) $ such that every oriented graph $ D $ of order $ n \geq n_0 $ with $δ^0(D) \geq \frac{3n + 3h + 3q - 5}{8}$ is arbitrary $ H $-linked; specifically, if $H$ is a loop, this holds under the weaker condition $δ^0(D) \geq \frac{3n - 4}{8}$. The result provides an oriented graph analogue of Wang's conjecture on cycle-factors in graphs [J. Korean Math. Soc. 51 (2014) 919--940] and determines the tight semi-degree bounds for both strongly Hamiltonian-connected and arbitrary $q$-linked oriented graphs.

Classification of positive solutions of critical anisotropic Sobolev equation without the finite volume constraint

In this paper, we classify all positive solutions of the critical anisotropic Sobolev equation \begin{equation}\label{0.1} -Δ^{H}_{p}u = u^{p^{*}-1}, \ \ x\in \mathbb{R}^n \end{equation} without the finite volume constraint for $n \geq 3$ and $p_n(Λ) < p < n$, where $p^{*} = \frac{np}{n-p}$ denotes the critical Sobolev exponent, $-Δ^{H}_{p}=-div(H^{p-1}(\cdot)\nabla H(\cdot))$ denotes the anisotropic $p$-Laplace operator and $Λ= λ\max\limits_{\substack{ξ\in \mathbb{R}^n\\1 \leq i, j \leq n}}\left\{\frac{|ξ|^{2}(\nabla^{2}_{ij}H^{p}(ξ))} {p(p-1)H^{p}(ξ)}\right\}$. By employing a novel approach based on invariant tensors technique, and using a Kato-type inequality, we prove that the positive solutions of \eqref{0.1} can be classified for $p_n(Λ) \leq p < n$, where $p_n(Λ)$ depends explicitly on $Λ$. This result removes the finite volume assumption on the classification of critical anisotropic $p$-Laplace equation which was obtained by Ciraolo-Figalli-Roncoroni in the literature \cite{CFR}. In particular, this results capture the precise dependence of critical exponents $p$ on both $n$ and $Λ$.

Coherence and Transients in Nonlocally Coupled Dissipative Kicked Rotors

The dynamics of nonlocally coupled dissipative kicked rotors is rich and complex. In this study, we consider a network of rotors where each interacts equally with a certain range of its neighbors. We focus on the influence of the coupling strength and the coupling range, and show both analytically and numerically the critical transitions in the phase diagram, which include bifurcations of simple spatiotemporal patterns and changes in basin sizes of coherent states with different wavenumbers. We highlight that this diagram is fundamentally different from those found in other coupled systems such as in coupled logistic maps or Lorenz systems. Finally, we show an interesting domain-wall phenomenon in the coupled chaotic rotors, where a super-long transient interface state (partially regular and partially chaotic) is observed and can persist exponentially long as the coupling range increases up to a critical threshold.

Bifurcations and Intermittency in Coupled Dissipative Kicked Rotors

We investigate the emergence of complex dynamics in a system of coupled dissipative kicked rotors and show that critical transitions can be understood via bifurcations of simple states. We study multistability and bifurcations in the single rotor model, demonstrating how these give rise to a variety of coexisting spatial patterns in a coupled system. A combined order parameter is introduced to characterize different spatial patterns and to reveal the coexistence of chaotic and regular attractors. Finally, we illustrate an intermittent phenomenon near the onset of chaos.

Stable time rondeau crystals in dissipative many-body systems

Driven systems offer the potential to realize a wide range of non-equilibrium phenomena that are inaccessible in static systems, such as the discrete time crystals. Time rondeau crystals with a partial temporal order have been proposed as a distinctive prethermal phase of matter in systems driven by structured random protocols. Yet, heating is inevitable in closed systems and time rondeau crystals eventually melt. We introduce dissipation to counteract heating and demonstrate stable time rondeau crystals, which persist indefinitely, in a many-body interacting system. A key ingredient is synchronization in the non-interacting limit, which allows for stable time rondeau order without generating excessive heating. The presence of many-body interaction competes with synchronization and a de-synchronization phase transition occurs at a finite interaction strength. This transition is well captured via a linear stability analysis of the underlying stochastic processes.

Integrated effect of the cosmic space magnetic field on the acceleration noise of the TQ gravitational wave detection program

The TianQin(TQ) program is to deploy three satellites that can form an equilateral triangle in about 100,000 km Earth orbit to capture gravitational wave signals in the low-frequency band. In order to ensure accurate capture, noise needs to be analyzed and compensated. In this paper, we model and analyze the acceleration noise generated by the test mass affected by the magnetic field in space. In this paper, we use the Tsyganenko model as the background magnetic field of the TQ orbit, calculate the magnetic field and magnetic field gradient of the satellite orbit from 1997 to 2023, analyze the acceleration noise due to the coupling of the residual magnetic moment, the induced magnetic moment with the magnetic field in space and the acceleration noise due to the Lorentz force, and calculate the acceleration integrated noise of the influence of the magnetic field on the test mass from the power spectral densities of the modeled magnetic field and the magnetic field gradient. The acceleration integrated noise of the magnetic field influence on the test mass is calculated from the power spectral density of the magnetic field and the magnetic field gradient obtained by the model. Through the simulation study, the acceleration of the test mass induced by the magnetic field in the space of the TQ orbit reaches the magnitude of $10^{-16}ms^{-1}Hz^{-1/2}$, which is an important source of the influencing noise. The acceleration noise induced by the magnetic field and the Lorentz force is relatively higher than that induced by the magnetic field gradient.

Proof of the linkage conjecture for highly connected tournaments

A digraph $D$ is $k$-linked if for every $2k$ distinct vertices $ x_1,\ldots , x_k, y_1, \ldots , y_k$ in $D$, there exist $k$ pairwise vertex-disjoint paths $P_1,\ldots, P_k$ such that $P_i$ starts at $x_i$ and ends at $y_i$ for each $i\in [k]$. In 2021, Girão, Popielarz, and Snyder [Combinatorica 41 (2021) 815--837] conjectured that there exists a constant $C >0$ such that every $(2k+1)$-connected tournament with minimum out-degree at least $Ck$ is $k$-linked. In this paper, we disprove this conjecture by constructing a family of counterexamples with minimum out-degree at least $\frac{k^2+11k}{26}$ (for $k\geq 42$). Further, we prove that every $(2k+1)$-connected semicomplete digraph $D$ with minimum out-degree at least $ 7k^2 + 36k$ is $k$-linked. This result is optimal in terms of both connectivity and minimum out-degree (up to a multiplicative factor), which refines and generalizes the earlier result of Girão, Popielarz, and Snyder.

Liouville theorems for anisotropic $p$-Laplace equations with a semilinear term

In this paper, we investigate Liouville theorems for solutions to the anisotropic $p$-Laplace equation $$-Δ_p^H u=-\operatorname{div}(a(\nabla u))=f(u),\quad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^n,$$ where the semilinear term $f$ may be positive, negative, or sign-changing. When $f$ is positive (negative) and satisfies certain conditions, Serrin's technique is applied to show that every positive supersolution (subsolution) must be constant. For the subcritical case, we use the invariant tensor method to prove nonexistence results for positive solutions. In particular, by applying the differential identity established in the subcritical case to the critical case, we provide a simplified new proof of the classification of positive solutions to the critical case $f(u)=u^{p^*-1}$. For sign-changing solutions, every stable solution or solution that is stable outside a compact set is trivial under certain conditions on $f$.

Neumann Problems for Elliptic and Parabolic Sum Hessian Equations

This paper studies the Neumann boundary value problem for sum Hessian equations. We first derive a priori $C^2$ estimates for $(k-1)$-admissible solutions in almost convex and uniformly $(k-1)$-convex domains, and prove the existence of admissible solutions via the method of continuity. Furthermore, we obtain existence results for the classical Neumann problem in uniformly convex domains. Finally, we extend these results to the corresponding parabolic problems.

A Clustering Method with Graph Maximum Decoding Information

The clustering method based on graph models has garnered increased attention for its widespread applicability across various knowledge domains. Its adaptability to integrate seamlessly with other relevant applications endows the graph model-based clustering analysis with the ability to robustly extract "natural associations" or "graph structures" within datasets, facilitating the modelling of relationships between data points. Despite its efficacy, the current clustering method utilizing the graph-based model overlooks the uncertainty associated with random walk access between nodes and the embedded structural information in the data. To address this gap, we present a novel Clustering method for Maximizing Decoding Information within graph-based models, named CMDI. CMDI innovatively incorporates two-dimensional structural information theory into the clustering process, consisting of two phases: graph structure extraction and graph vertex partitioning. Within CMDI, graph partitioning is reformulated as an abstract clustering problem, leveraging maximum decoding information to minimize uncertainty associated with random visits to vertices. Empirical evaluations on three real-world datasets demonstrate that CMDI outperforms classical baseline methods, exhibiting a superior decoding information ratio (DI-R). Furthermore, CMDI showcases heightened efficiency, particularly when considering prior knowledge (PK). These findings underscore the effectiveness of CMDI in enhancing decoding information quality and computational efficiency, positioning it as a valuable tool in graph-based clustering analyses.

High-Quality Pseudo-Label Generation Based on Visual Prompt Assisted Cloud Model Update

Generating high-quality pseudo-labels on the cloud is crucial for cloud-edge object detection, especially in dynamic traffic monitoring where data distributions evolve. Existing methods often assume reliable cloud models, neglecting potential errors or struggling with complex distribution shifts. This paper proposes Cloud-Adaptive High-Quality Pseudo-label generation (CA-HQP), addressing these limitations by incorporating a learnable Visual Prompt Generator (VPG) and dual feature alignment into cloud model updates. The VPG enables parameter-efficient adaptation by injecting visual prompts, enhancing flexibility without extensive fine-tuning. CA-HQP mitigates domain discrepancies via two feature alignment techniques: global Domain Query Feature Alignment (DQFA) capturing scene-level shifts, and fine-grained Temporal Instance-Aware Feature Embedding Alignment (TIAFA) addressing instance variations. Experiments on the Bellevue traffic dataset demonstrate that CA-HQP significantly improves pseudo-label quality compared to existing methods, leading to notable performance gains for the edge model and showcasing CA-HQP's adaptation effectiveness. Ablation studies validate each component (DQFA, TIAFA, VPG) and the synergistic effect of combined alignment strategies, highlighting the importance of adaptive cloud updates and domain adaptation for robust object detection in evolving scenarios. CA-HQP provides a promising solution for enhancing cloud-edge object detection systems in real-world applications.

A Dirac-type theorem for arbitrary Hamiltonian $H$-linked digraphs

Given any digraph $D$ on $n$ vertices, let $\mathcal{P}(D)$ be the family of all directed paths in $D$, and let $H$ be a digraph with the arc set $A(H)=\{a_1, \ldots, a_k\}$. The digraph $D$ is called arbitrary Hamiltonian $H$-linked if for any injective map $f: V(H)\rightarrow V(D)$ and any integer set $\mathcal{N}=\{n_1, \ldots, n_k\}$ satisfying that $n_i\geq4$ for each $i\in\{1, \ldots, k\}$, there is a map $g: A(H)\rightarrow \mathcal{P}(D)$ such that for every arc $a_i=uv$, $g(a_i)$ is a directed path from $f(u)$ to $f(v)$ of length $n_i$, and different arcs are mapped into internally vertex-disjoint directed paths in $D$, and $\bigcup_{i\in[k]}V(g(a_i))=V(D)$. Here, the length of a directed path is defined as the number of its arcs. In this paper, we prove that for any digraph $H$ with $k$ arcs and $δ(H)\geq1$, there exists a constant $C_0=C_0(k)$ such that if $D$ is a digraph of order $n\geq C_0$ and minimum in- and out-degree at least $n/2+k$, then it is arbitrary Hamiltonian $H$-linked. The lower bound on the minimum in- and out-degree is best possible. We further prove a more general form that allows $k$ to be linear in $n$, while imposing some restrictions on the lengths of the subdivided arcs. As corollaries, we solved a conjecture of Wang \cite{Wang} for sufficiently large graphs, and partly answered a problem raised by Pavez-Signé \cite{Pavez}.

On the $k$-linkage problem for generalizations of semicomplete digraphs

A directed graph (digraph) $ D $ is $ k $-linked if $ |D| \geq 2k $, and for any $ 2k $ distinct vertices $ x_1, \ldots, x_k, y_1, \ldots, y_k $ of $ D $, there exist vertex-disjoint paths $ P_1, \ldots, P_k $ such that $ P_i $ is a path from $ x_i $ to $ y_i $ for each $ i \in [k] $. In 1980, Thomassen conjectured that there exists a function $ f(k) $ such that every $ f(k) $-strong digraph is $ k $-linked. He later disproved this conjecture by showing that $ f(2) $ does not exist for general digraphs and proved that the function $f(k)$ exists for the class of tournaments. In this paper we consider a large class $\mathcal{ D} $ of digraphs which includes all semicomplete digraphs (digraphs with no pair of non-adjacent vertices) and all quasi-transitive digraphs (a digraph $D$ is quasi-transitive if for any three vertices $x, y, z$ of $D$, whenever $xy$ and $yz$ are arcs, then $x$ and $z$ are adjacent). We prove that every $ 3k $-strong digraph $D\in \mathcal{D}$ with minimum out-degree at least $ 23k $ is $ k $-linked. A digraph $D$ is $l$-quasi-transitive if whenever there is a path of length $l$ between vertices $u$ and $v$ in $D$ the vertices $u$ and $v$ are adjacent. Hence 2-quasi-transitive digraphs are exactly the quasi-transitive digraphs. We prove that there is a function $f(k,l)$ so that every $f(k,l)$-strong $l$-quasi-transitive digraph is $k$-linked. The main new tool in our proofs significantly strengthens an important property of vertices with maximum in-degree in a tournament. While Landau in 1953 already proved that such a vertex $v$ is reachable by all other vertices by paths of length at most 2, we show that, in fact, the structure of these paths is much richer. In general there are many such paths for almost all out-neighbours of $v$ and this property is crucial in our proofs.

The Pogorelov estimates for the sum Hessian equation with rigidity theorem and parabolic versions

Furthermore, we investigate the Pogorelov estimates and rigidity theorems for solutions to the parabolic versions under similar conditions. These results extend the works of \cite{He-Sheng-Xiang-Zhang-2022-CCM} and \cite{Liu-Ren-2023-JFA}.
