Spatio-Temporal Token Pruning for Efficient High-Resolution GUI Agents

Pure-vision GUI agents provide universal interaction capabilities but suffer from severe efficiency bottlenecks due to the massive spatiotemporal redundancy inherent in high-resolution screenshots and historical trajectories. We identify two critical misalignments in existing compression paradigms: the temporal mismatch, where uniform history encoding diverges from the agent's "fading memory" attention pattern, and the spatial topology conflict, where unstructured pruning compromises the grid integrity required for precise coordinate grounding, inducing spatial hallucinations. To address these challenges, we introduce GUIPruner, a training-free framework tailored for high-resolution GUI navigation. It synergizes Temporal-Adaptive Resolution (TAR), which eliminates historical redundancy via decay-based resizing, and Stratified Structure-aware Pruning (SSP), which prioritizes interactive foregrounds and semantic anchors while safeguarding global layout. Extensive evaluations across diverse benchmarks demonstrate that GUIPruner consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance, effectively preventing the collapse observed in large-scale models under high compression. Notably, on Qwen2-VL-2B, our method delivers a 3.4x reduction in FLOPs and a 3.3x speedup in vision encoding latency while retaining over 94% of the original performance, enabling real-time, high-precision navigation with minimal resource consumption.

EfficientPosterGen: Semantic-aware Efficient Poster Generation via Token Compression and Accurate Violation Detection

Automated academic poster generation aims to distill lengthy research papers into concise, visually coherent presentations. Existing Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) based approaches, however, suffer from three critical limitations: low information density in full-paper inputs, excessive token consumption, and unreliable layout verification. We present EfficientPosterGen, an end-to-end framework that addresses these challenges through semantic-aware retrieval and token-efficient multimodal generation. EfficientPosterGen introduces three core innovations: (1) Semantic-aware Key Information Retrieval (SKIR), which constructs a semantic contribution graph to model inter-segment relationships and selectively preserves important content; (2) Visual-based Context Compression (VCC), which renders selected text segments into images to shift textual information into the visual modality, significantly reducing token usage while generating poster-ready bullet points; and (3) Agentless Layout Violation Detection (ALVD), a deterministic color-gradient-based algorithm that reliably detects content overflow and spatial sparsity without auxiliary MLLMs. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EfficientPosterGen achieves substantial improvements in token efficiency and layout reliability while maintaining high poster quality, offering a scalable solution for automated academic poster generation. SmartBench: Evaluating LLMs in Smart Homes with Anomalous Device States and Behavioral Contexts

Due to the strong context-awareness capabilities demonstrated by large language models (LLMs), recent research has begun exploring their integration into smart home assistants to help users manage and adjust their living environments. While LLMs have been shown to effectively understand user needs and provide appropriate responses, most existing studies primarily focus on interpreting and executing user behaviors or instructions. However, a critical function of smart home assistants is the ability to detect when the home environment is in an anomalous state. This involves two key requirements: the LLM must accurately determine whether an anomalous condition is present, and provide either a clear explanation or actionable suggestions. To enhance the anomaly detection capabilities of next-generation LLM-based smart home assistants, we introduce SmartBench, which is the first smart home dataset designed for LLMs, containing both normal and anomalous device states as well as normal and anomalous device state transition contexts. We evaluate 13 mainstream LLMs on this benchmark. The experimental results show that most state-of-the-art models cannot achieve good anomaly detection performance. For example, Claude-Sonnet-4.5 achieves only 66.1% detection accuracy on context-independent anomaly categories, and performs even worse on context-dependent anomalies, with an accuracy of only 57.8%. More experimental results suggest that next-generation LLM-based smart home assistants are still far from being able to effectively detect and handle anomalous conditions in the smart home environment. ComUICoder: Component-based Reusable UI Code Generation for Complex Websites via Semantic Segmentation and Element-wise Feedback

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have demonstrated strong performance on the UI-to-code task, which aims to generate UI code from design mock-ups. However, when applied to long and complex websites, they often struggle with fragmented segmentation, redundant code generation for repetitive components, and frequent UI inconsistencies. To systematically investigate and address these challenges, we introduce ComUIBench, a new multi-page complex webpage benchmark with component annotations, designed to evaluate MLLMs' ability to generate reusable UI code in realistic website scenarios. Building upon this benchmark, we propose ComUICoder, a component-based UI code generation framework that emphasizes semantic-aware segmentation, code reuse, and fine-grained refinement. Specifically, ComUICoder incorporates (1) Hybrid Semantic-aware Block Segmentation for accurate UI semantic coherent block detection, (2) Visual-aware Graph-based Block Merge to consolidate structurally similar components within and across webpages for reusable implementation, and (3) Priority-based Element-wise Feedback to refine generated code and reduce element-level inconsistencies. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ComUICoder significantly improves overall generation quality and code reusability on complex multipage websites. Our datasets and code are publicly available at https://github.com/WebPAI/ComUICoder.

Envisioning Future Interactive Web Development: Editing Webpage with Natural Language

The evolution of web applications relies on iterative code modifications, a process that is traditionally manual and time-consuming. While Large Language Models (LLMs) can generate UI code, their ability to edit existing code from new design requirements (e.g., "center the logo") remains a challenge. This is largely due to the absence of large-scale, high-quality tuning data to align model performance with human expectations. In this paper, we introduce a novel, automated data generation pipeline that uses LLMs to synthesize a high-quality fine-tuning dataset for web editing, named Instruct4Edit. Our approach generates diverse instructions, applies the corresponding code modifications, and performs visual verification to ensure correctness. By fine-tuning models on Instruct4Edit, we demonstrate consistent improvement in translating human intent into precise, structurally coherent, and visually accurate code changes. This work provides a scalable and transparent foundation for natural language based web editing, demonstrating that fine-tuning smaller open-source models can achieve competitive performance with proprietary systems. We release all data, code implementations, and model checkpoints for reproduction.

TREAT: A Code LLMs Trustworthiness / Reliability Evaluation and Testing Framework

Large foundation models are fundamentally transforming the software engineering landscape, demonstrating exceptional capabilities across diverse tasks such as code generation, debugging, and testing. Despite this rapid progress, a significant gap remains in how to comprehensively evaluate these models' trustworthiness in real-world software engineering scenarios. Existing benchmarks suffer from limited task scope and fail to incorporate critical evaluation aspects such as the robustness and reliability of models. To bridge this gap, we present an evaluation framework called TREAT (Code LLMs Trustworthiness / Reliability Evaluation And Testing) that provides a holistic assessment of model performance in code intelligence tasks. Our evaluation framework addresses key limitations in existing approaches with four main improvements: (1) Multi-Task Holistic Evaluation that spans diverse software engineering activities rather than limited coding tasks; (2) Multi-Language and Multi-Modality Assessment that extends beyond traditional single-language, text-only benchmarks to include multi-modality coding tasks; (3) Robustness Assessment that evaluates model reliability under semantically-preserving code transformations; and (4) Rigorous Evaluation Methodology that enhances the trustworthiness of evaluation results through diverse evaluation prompts and adaptive solution extraction. Based on this evaluation framework, we assess 26 state-of-the-art models and uncover both their strengths and limitations, yielding several key insights:(1) Current models show substantial performance variation across programming tasks; (2) Multi-modal language models demonstrate specific performance limitations in UI code generation and edit;

Automatically Generating Web Applications from Requirements Via Multi-Agent Test-Driven Development

Developing full-stack web applications is complex and time-intensive, demanding proficiency across diverse technologies and frameworks. Although recent advances in multimodal large language models (MLLMs) enable automated webpage generation from visual inputs, current solutions remain limited to front-end tasks and fail to deliver fully functional applications. In this work, we introduce TDDev, the first test-driven development (TDD)-enabled LLM-agent framework for end-to-end full-stack web application generation. Given a natural language description or design image, TDDev automatically derives executable test cases, generates front-end and back-end code, simulates user interactions, and iteratively refines the implementation until all requirements are satisfied. Our framework addresses key challenges in full-stack automation, including underspecified user requirements, complex interdependencies among multiple files, and the need for both functional correctness and visual fidelity. Through extensive experiments on diverse application scenarios, TDDev achieves a 14.4% improvement on overall accuracy compared to state-of-the-art baselines, demonstrating its effectiveness in producing reliable, high-quality web applications without requiring manual intervention.

Semantic-aware Graph-guided Behavior Sequences Generation with Large Language Models for Smart Homes

As smart homes become increasingly prevalent, intelligent models are widely used for tasks such as anomaly detection and behavior prediction. These models are typically trained on static datasets, making them brittle to behavioral drift caused by seasonal changes, lifestyle shifts, or evolving routines. However, collecting new behavior data for retraining is often impractical due to its slow pace, high cost, and privacy concerns. In this paper, we propose SmartGen, an LLM-based framework that synthesizes context-aware user behavior data to support continual adaptation of downstream smart home models. SmartGen consists of four key components. First, we design a Time and Semantic-aware Split module to divide long behavior sequences into manageable, semantically coherent subsequences under dual time-span constraints. Second, we propose Semantic-aware Sequence Compression to reduce input length while preserving representative semantics by clustering behavior mapping in latent space. Third, we introduce Graph-guided Sequence Synthesis, which constructs a behavior relationship graph and encodes frequent transitions into prompts, guiding the LLM to generate data aligned with contextual changes while retaining core behavior patterns. Finally, we design a Two-stage Outlier Filter to identify and remove implausible or semantically inconsistent outputs, aiming to improve the factual coherence and behavioral validity of the generated sequences. Experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate that SmartGen significantly enhances model performance on anomaly detection and behavior prediction tasks under behavioral drift, with anomaly detection improving by 85.43% and behavior prediction by 70.51% on average. SlideCoder: Layout-aware RAG-enhanced Hierarchical Slide Generation from Design

Manual slide creation is labor-intensive and requires expert prior knowledge. Existing natural language-based LLM generation methods struggle to capture the visual and structural nuances of slide designs. To address this, we formalize the Reference Image to Slide Generation task and propose Slide2Code, the first benchmark with difficulty-tiered samples based on a novel Slide Complexity Metric. We introduce SlideCoder, a layout-aware, retrieval-augmented framework for generating editable slides from reference images. SlideCoder integrates a Color Gradient-based Segmentation algorithm and a Hierarchical Retrieval-Augmented Generation method to decompose complex tasks and enhance code generation. We also release SlideMaster, a 7B open-source model fine-tuned with improved reverse-engineered data. Experiments show that SlideCoder outperforms state-of-the-art baselines by up to 40.5 points, demonstrating strong performance across layout fidelity, execution accuracy, and visual consistency. QueryAttack: Jailbreaking Aligned Large Language Models Using Structured Non-natural Query Language

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated remarkable potential in the field of natural language processing. Unfortunately, LLMs face significant security and ethical risks. Although techniques such as safety alignment are developed for defense, prior researches reveal the possibility of bypassing such defenses through well-designed jailbreak attacks. In this paper, we propose QueryAttack, a novel framework to examine the generalizability of safety alignment. By treating LLMs as knowledge databases, we translate malicious queries in natural language into structured non-natural query language to bypass the safety alignment mechanisms of LLMs. We conduct extensive experiments on mainstream LLMs, and the results show that QueryAttack not only can achieve high attack success rates (ASRs), but also can jailbreak various defense methods. Furthermore, we tailor a defense method against QueryAttack, which can reduce ASR by up to $64\%$ on GPT-4-1106. Our code is available at https://github.com/horizonsinzqs/QueryAttack.

Non-negligible influence of shape inheritance and staggering on α decay

A series of findings in machine learning (ML) and decay theory are captured while exploring the role of deformation and preformation factors in α decay. We provide a novel and practical paradigm for developing physics-driven machine learning in nuclear physics research by introducing known decay theory and statistical correlation analysis. Furthermore, this analysis verifies the Geiger-Nuttall law, and the relationship between the decay energy and α formation amplitude, also releases a signal that nuclei with hexadecapole deformation are more likely to form α clusters. In particular, we identify two novel phenomena, shape inheritance, in which the deformation properties are partially transmitted from parent to daughter nuclei; and half-life inversion due to shape staggering of adjacent even-even nuclei. This phenomenon occurs frequently in neutron-deficient nuclei near lead isotopes, which is consistent with shape coexistence in experiments. Surprisingly, it reappeared within the predicted half-life of the 119 and 120 isotope chains in the eighth period of the periodic table. The half-life considering the inversion effect is preferable for the study of new nuclides and shape coexistence in experiments.

Synthetic User Behavior Sequence Generation with Large Language Models for Smart Homes

In recent years, as smart home systems have become more widespread, security concerns within these environments have become a growing threat. Currently, most smart home security solutions, such as anomaly detection and behavior prediction models, are trained using fixed datasets that are precollected. However, the process of dataset collection is time-consuming and lacks the flexibility needed to adapt to the constantly evolving smart home environment. Additionally, the collection of personal data raises significant privacy concerns for users. Lately, large language models (LLMs) have emerged as a powerful tool for a wide range of tasks across diverse application domains, thanks to their strong capabilities in natural language processing, reasoning, and problem-solving. In this paper, we propose an LLM-based synthetic dataset generation IoTGen framework to enhance the generalization of downstream smart home intelligent models. By generating new synthetic datasets that reflect changes in the environment, smart home intelligent models can be retrained to overcome the limitations of fixed and outdated data, allowing them to better align with the dynamic nature of real-world home environments. Specifically, we first propose a Structure Pattern Perception Compression (SPPC) method tailored for IoT behavior data, which preserves the most informative content in the data while significantly reducing token consumption. Then, we propose a systematic approach to create prompts and implement data generation to automatically generate IoT synthetic data with normative and reasonable properties, assisting task models in adaptive training to improve generalization and real-world performance.

MRWeb: An Exploration of Generating Multi-Page Resource-Aware Web Code from UI Designs

Multi-page websites dominate modern web development. However, existing design-to-code methods rely on simplified assumptions, limiting to single-page, self-contained webpages without external resource connection. To address this gap, we introduce the Multi-Page Resource-Aware Webpage (MRWeb) generation task, which transforms UI designs into multi-page, functional web UIs with internal/external navigation, image loading, and backend routing. We propose a novel resource list data structure to track resources, links, and design components. Our study applies existing methods to the MRWeb problem using a newly curated dataset of 500 websites (300 synthetic, 200 real-world). Specifically, we identify the best metric to evaluate the similarity of the web UI, assess the impact of the resource list on MRWeb generation, analyze MLLM limitations, and evaluate the effectiveness of the MRWeb tool in real-world workflows. The results show that resource lists boost navigation functionality from 0% to 66%-80% while facilitating visual similarity. Our proposed metrics and evaluation framework provide new insights into MLLM performance on MRWeb tasks. We release the MRWeb tool, dataset, and evaluation framework to promote further research.

Ground calibration and network of the first CATCH pathfinder

The Chasing All Transients Constellation Hunters (CATCH) space mission is focused on exploring the dynamic universe via X-ray follow-up observations of various transients. The first pathfinder of the CATCH mission, CATCH-1, was launched on June 22, 2024, alongside the Space-based multiband astronomical Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) mission. CATCH-1 is equipped with narrow-field optimized Micro Pore Optics (MPOs) featuring a large effective area and incorporates four Silicon Drift Detectors (SDDs) in its focal plane. This paper presents the system calibration results conducted before the satellite integration. Utilizing the data on the performance of the mirror and detectors obtained through the system calibration, combined with simulated data, the ground calibration database can be established. Measuring the relative positions of the mirror and detector system, which were adjusted during system calibration, allows for accurate installation of the entire satellite. Furthermore, the paper outlines the operational workflow of the ground network post-satellite launch.

Make Your Home Safe: Time-aware Unsupervised User Behavior Anomaly Detection in Smart Homes via Loss-guided Mask

Smart homes, powered by the Internet of Things, offer great convenience but also pose security concerns due to abnormal behaviors, such as improper operations of users and potential attacks from malicious attackers. Several behavior modeling methods have been proposed to identify abnormal behaviors and mitigate potential risks. However, their performance often falls short because they do not effectively learn less frequent behaviors, consider temporal context, or account for the impact of noise in human behaviors. In this paper, we propose SmartGuard, an autoencoder-based unsupervised user behavior anomaly detection framework. First, we design a Loss-guided Dynamic Mask Strategy (LDMS) to encourage the model to learn less frequent behaviors, which are often overlooked during learning. Second, we propose a Three-level Time-aware Position Embedding (TTPE) to incorporate temporal information into positional embedding to detect temporal context anomaly. Third, we propose a Noise-aware Weighted Reconstruction Loss (NWRL) that assigns different weights for routine behaviors and noise behaviors to mitigate the interference of noise behaviors during inference. Comprehensive experiments on three datasets with ten types of anomaly behaviors demonstrates that SmartGuard consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines and also offers highly interpretable results.

Polarization Perspectives on Hercules X-1: Further Constraining the Geometry

We conduct a comprehensive analysis of the accreting X-ray pulsar, Hercules X-1, utilizing data from IXPE and NuSTAR. IXPE performed five observations of Her X-1, consisting of three in the Main-on state and two in the Short-on state. Our time-resolved analysis uncovers the linear correlations between the flux and polarization degree as well as the pulse fraction and polarization degree. Geometry parameters are rigorously constrained by fitting the phase-resolved modulations of Cyclotron Resonance Scattering Feature and polarization angle with a simple dipole model and Rotating Vector Model respectively, yielding roughly consistent results. The changes of $χ_{\rm p}$ (the position angle of the pulsar's spin axis on the plane of the sky) between different Main-on observations suggest the possible forced precession of the neutron star crust. Furthermore, a linear association between the energy of Cyclotron Resonance Scattering Feature and polarization angle implies the prevalence of a dominant dipole magnetic field, and their phase-resolved modulations likely arise from viewing angle effects.

Simulation Studies for the First Pathfinder of the CATCH Space Mission

The Chasing All Transients Constellation Hunters (CATCH) space mission is an intelligent constellation consisting of 126 micro-satellites in three types (A, B, and C), designed for X-ray observation with the objective of studying the dynamic universe. Currently, we are actively developing the first Pathfinder (CATCH-1) for the CATCH mission, specifically for type-A satellites. CATCH-1 is equipped with Micro Pore Optics (MPO) and a 4-pixel Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) array. To assess its scientific performance, including the effective area of the optical system, on-orbit background, and telescope sensitivity, we employ the Monte Carlo software Geant4 for simulation in this study. The MPO optics exhibit an effective area of $41$ cm$^2$ at the focal spot for 1 keV X-rays, while the entire telescope system achieves an effective area of $29$ cm$^2$ at 1 keV when taking into account the SDD detector's detection efficiency. The primary contribution to the background is found to be from the Cosmic X-ray Background. Assuming a 625 km orbit with an inclination of $29^\circ$, the total background for CATCH-1 is estimated to be $8.13\times10^{-2}$ counts s$^{-1}$ in the energy range of 0.5--4 keV. Based on the background within the central detector and assuming a Crab-like source spectrum, the estimated ideal sensitivity could achieve $1.9\times10^{-12}$ erg cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ for an exposure of 10$^4$ s in the energy band of 0.5--4 keV. Furthermore, after simulating the background caused by low-energy charged particles near the geomagnetic equator, we have determined that there is no need to install a magnetic deflector.

In-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite

The Chasing All Transients Constellation Hunters (CATCH) space mission plans to launch three types of micro-satellites (A, B, and C). The type-B CATCH satellites are dedicated to locating transients and detecting their time-dependent energy spectra. A type-B satellite is equipped with lightweight Wolter-I X-ray optics and an array of position-sensitive multi-pixel Silicon Drift Detectors. To optimize the scientific payloads for operating properly in orbit and performing the observations with high sensitivities, this work performs an in-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite using the Geant4 toolkit. It shows that the persistent background is dominated by the cosmic X-ray diffuse background and the cosmic-ray protons. The dynamic background is also estimated considering trapped charged particles in the radiation belts and low-energy charged particles near the geomagnetic equator, which is dominated by the incident electrons outside the aperture. The simulated persistent background within the focal spot is used to estimate the observation sensitivity, i.e. 4.22$\times$10$^{-13}$ erg cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ with an exposure of 10$^{4}$ s and a Crab-like source spectrum, which can be utilized further to optimize the shielding design. The simulated in-orbit background also suggests that the magnetic diverter just underneath the optics may be unnecessary in this kind of micro-satellites, because the dynamic background induced by charged particles outside the aperture is around 3 orders of magnitude larger than that inside the aperture.
