Asymptotic Structure of Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton Theory and Its Five Dimensional Origin

We consider Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory in four dimensions including the Kaluza-Klein theory and obtain the general asymptotic solutions in Bondi gauge. We find that there are three different types of news functions representing gravitational, electromagnetic, and scalar radiations. The mass density at any angle of the system can only decrease whenever there is any type of news function. The solution space of the Kaluza-Klein theory is also lifted to five dimensions. We also compute the asymptotic symmetries in both four dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory and five dimensional pure Einstein theory. We find that the symmetry algebras of the two theories are the same.

Open Spin Chains from Determinant Like Operators in ABJM Theory

We study the mixing problem of the determinant like operators in ABJM theory to two loop order in the scalar sector. The gravity duals of these operators are open strings attached to the maximal giant graviton, which is a D4-brane wrapping a $\mathbb{CP}^2$ inside $\mathbb{CP}^3$ in our case. The anomalous dimension matrix of these operators can be regarded as an open spin chain Hamiltonian. We provide strong evidence of its integrability based on coordinate Bethe ansatz method and boundary Yang-Baxter equation.

Two-Loop Integrability of ABJM Open Spin Chain from Giant Graviton

We prove the integrability of the two-loop open spin chain Hamiltonian from ABJM determinant like operators given in arXiv:1809.09941. By explicitly constructing R-matrices and K-matrices, we successfully obtain the two-loop Hamiltonian from the double row transfer matrices. This proves the integrability of our two-loop Hamiltonian. Based on the vacuum eigenvalues of the transfer matrices, we make a conjecture on the eigenvalues of the transfer matrices for general excited states. Bethe ansatz equations are simply obtained from the analytic conditions at the superficial poles of the eigenvalues.

Integrability of Orbifold ABJM Theories

Integrable structure has played a very important role in the study of various non-perturbative aspects of planar ABJM theories. In this paper we showed that this remarkable structure survive after orbifold operation with discrete group $Γ(\simeq\mathbb{Z}_n)<SU(4)_R\times U(1)_b$. For general $Γ$, we prove the integrability in the scalar sector at the planar two-loop order and get the Bethe ansatz equations. The eigenvalues of the anomalous dimension matrix are also obtained. For $Γ<SU(4)$, two-loop all-sector and all-loop BAEs are proposed. Supersymmetric orbifolds are discussed in this framework.

BPS Wilson loops in $\mathcal N \geq 2$ superconformal Chern-Simons-matter theories

In $\mathcal N \geq 2$ superconformal Chern-Simons-matter theories we construct the infinite family of Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) Wilson loops featured by constant parametric couplings to scalar and fermion matter, including both line Wilson loops in Minkowski spacetime and circle Wilson loops in Euclidean space. We find that the connection of the most general BPS Wilson loop cannot be decomposed in terms of double-node connections. Moreover, if the quiver contains triangles, it cannot be interpreted as a supermatrix inside a superalgebra. However, for particular choices of the parameters it reduces to the well-known connections of 1/6 BPS Wilson loops in Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory and 1/4 BPS Wilson loops in $\mathcal N = 4$ orbifold ABJM theory. In the particular case of $\mathcal N = 2$ orbifold ABJM theory we identify the gravity duals of a subset of operators. We investigate the cohomological equivalence of fermionic and bosonic BPS Wilson loops at quantum level by studying their expectation values, and find strong evidence that the cohomological equivalence holds quantum mechanically, at framing one. Finally, we discuss a stronger formulation of the cohomological equivalence, which implies non-trivial identities for correlation functions of composite operators in the defect CFT defined on the Wilson contour and allows to make novel predictions on the corresponding unknown integrals that call for a confirmation.

Notes on Integrable Boundary Interactions of Open $SU(4)$ Alternating Spin Chains

In arXiv:1704.05807, it was shown that the planar flavored ABJM theory is integrable in the scalar sector at two-loop order using coordinate Bethe ansatz. A salient feature of this case is that the boundary reflection matrices are anti-diagonal with respect to the chosen basis. In this paper, we relax the coefficients of the boundary terms to be general constants in order to search for integrable systems among this class. We found that at each end of the spin chain, the only integrable boundary interaction, besides the one in arXiv:1704.05807, is the one with vanishing boundary interactions leading to diagonal reflection matrices. We also construct non-supersymmetric plannar flavored ABJM theory which leads to trivial boundary interaction at both ends of the open chain from two-loop anomalous dimension matrix in the scalar sector.

Causality and a-theorem Constraints on Ricci Polynomial and Riemann Cubic Gravities

In this paper, we study Einstein gravity extended with Ricci polynomials and derive the constraints on the coupling constants from the considerations of being ghost free, exhibiting an $a$-theorem and maintaining causality. The salient feature is that Einstein metrics with appropriate effective cosmological constants continue to be solutions with the inclusion of such Ricci polynomials and the causality constraint is automatically satisfied. The ghost free and $a$-theorem conditions can only be both met starting at the quartic order. We also study these constraints on general Riemann cubic gravities.

Note on asymptotic symmetries and soft gluon theorems

Recently, the leading soft gluon theorem with single soft emission was shown to be the Ward identity of a two dimensional $\cal G$-Kac-Moody symmetry. In this note, we show that the leading soft gluon theorem can be interpreted as the Ward identity for the asymptotic symmetries of non-Abelian gauge theory. We further argue that the sub-leading soft gluon theorem can follow from the same symmetry.

Finite-size Effect for Dyonic Giant Magnons in $CP^3_β$

We studied the finite-size giant magnons in $\text{AdS}_4\times\text{CP}^3_β$ background using the classical spectral curve constructed in this paper. We computed the finite-size corrections to the dispersion relations for the $RP^3$ giant magnons using our twisted algebraic curve based on the method proposed in arXiv:0810.1246, in which the authors computed the finite-size corrections of giant magnons in $\text{AdS}_4\times\text{CP}^3$ by introducing a finite-size resolvent $G_{\text{finite}}(x)$. We obtained exactly the same result as in arXiv:1106.3686, where a totally different approach was used.

New electromagnetic memories and soft photon theorems

In this paper, we present a new type of electromagnetic memory. It is a `magnetic' type, or B mode, radiation memory effect. Rather than a residual velocity, we find a position displacement of a charged particle induced by the B mode radiation with memory. We find two types of electromagnetic displacement (ordinary and null). We also show that the null electromagnetic memory formulas are nothing but a Fourier transformation of soft photon theorems.

Integrable Open Spin Chains from Flavored ABJM Theory

We compute the two-loop anomalous dimension matrix in the scalar sector of planar ${\cal N}=3$ flavored ABJM theory. Using coordinate Bethe ansatz, we obtain the reflection matrix and confirm that the boundary Yang-Baxter equations are satisfied. This establishes the integrability of this theory in the scalar sector at the two-loop order.

Y-system for $γ$-deformed ABJM Theory

We investigate the integrable aspects of the planar $γ$-deformed ABJM theory and propose the twisted asymptotic Bethe ansatz equations. A more general method through a twisted generating functional is discussed, based on which, the asymptotic large L solution of Y-system is modified in order to match the asymptotic Bethe ansatz equations. Several applications of our method were made in the $sl(2)$-like sector and some important examples in $β$-deformed ABJM are presented as well.

In this paper, we study the multi-spin string solutions in AdS_4*CP^3 and its β-deformation with real β. We give various explicit solutions after some general studies. Conserved charges are computed for these explicit solutions.

M5-branes in AdS$_4 \times Q^{1,1,1}$ spacetime

In this paper, we study the M5-brane configurations in AdS$_4 \times Q^{1,1,1}$ spacetime. We consider the configurations with an AdS$_2$ factor embedding into AdS$_4$, and manage to construct two solutions, which could be dual to line defects in the boundary gauge theory. Moreover we discuss their BPS nature and find that neither of them is supersymmetric. We show that the M5-brane with a R$_t$ or an AdS$_3$ factor found before is half-BPS.

Short interval expansion of Rényi entropy on torus

We investigate the short interval expansion of the Rényi entropy for two-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT) on a torus. We require the length of the interval $\ell$ to be small with respect to the spatial and temporal sizes of the torus. The operator product expansion of the twist operators allows us to compute the short interval expansion of the Rényi entropy at any temperature. In particular, we pay special attention to the large $c$ CFTs dual to the AdS$_3$ gravity and its cousins. At both low and high temperature limits, we read the Rényi entropies to order $\ell^6$, and find good agreements with holographic results. Moreover, the expansion allows us to read $1/c$ contribution, which is hard to get by expanding the thermal density matrix. We generalize the study to the case with the chemical potential as well.

Construction and classification of novel BPS Wilson loops in quiver Chern-Simons-matter theories

In this paper we construct and classify novel Drukker-Trancanelli (DT) type BPS Wilson loops along infinite straight lines and circles in $\mathcal N=2,3$ quiver superconformal Chern-Simons-matter theories, Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory, and $\mathcal N=4$ orbifold ABJM theory. Generally we have four classes of Wilson loops, and all of them preserve the same supersymmetries as the BPS Gaiotto-Yin (GY) type Wilson loops. There are several free complex parameters in the DT type BPS Wilson loops, and for two classes of Wilson loops in ABJM theory and $\mathcal N=4$ orbifold ABJM theory there are supersymmetry enhancements at special values of the parameters. We check that the differences of the DT type and GY type Wilson loops are $Q$-exact with $Q$ being some supercharges preserved by both the DT type and GY type Wilson loops. The results would be useful to calculate vacuum expectation values of the DT type Wilson loops in matrix models if they are still BPS quantum mechanically.

Exact results for Wilson loops in orbifold ABJM theory

We investigate the exact results for circular 1/4 and 1/2 BPS Wilson loops in the $d=3$ ${\mathcal N}=4$ super Chern-Simons-matter theory that could be obtained by orbifolding Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory. The partition function of the ${\mathcal N}=4$ orbifold ABJM theory has been computed previously in the literature. In this paper, we re-derive it using a slightly different method. We calculate the vacuum expectation values of the circular 1/4 BPS Wilson loops in fundamental representation and of circular 1/2 BPS Wilson loops in arbitrary representations. We use both the saddle point approach and Fermi gas approach. The results for Wilson loops are in accord with the available gravity results.

Scattering Equations, Twistor-string Formulas and Double-soft Limits in Four Dimensions

We study scattering equations and formulas for tree amplitudes of various theories in four dimensions, in terms of spinor helicity variables and on-shell superspace for supersymmetric theories. As originally obtained in Witten's twistor string theory and other twistor-string models, the equations can take either polynomial or rational forms, and we clarify the simple relation between them. We present new, four-dimensional formulas for all tree amplitudes in the non-linear sigma model, a special Galileon theory and the maximally supersymmetric completion of the Dirac-Born-Infeld theory. Furthermore, we apply the formulas to study various double-soft theorems in these theories, including the emissions of a pair of soft photons, fermions and scalars for super-amplitudes in super-DBI theory.
