DualCoT-VLA: Visual-Linguistic Chain of Thought via Parallel Reasoning for Vision-Language-Action Models

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models map visual observations and language instructions directly to robotic actions. While effective for simple tasks, standard VLA models often struggle with complex, multi-step tasks requiring logical planning, as well as precise manipulations demanding fine-grained spatial perception. Recent efforts have incorporated Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning to endow VLA models with a ``thinking before acting'' capability. However, current CoT-based VLA models face two critical limitations: 1) an inability to simultaneously capture low-level visual details and high-level logical planning due to their reliance on isolated, single-modal CoT; 2) high inference latency with compounding errors caused by step-by-step autoregressive decoding. To address these limitations, we propose DualCoT-VLA, a visual-linguistic CoT method for VLA models with a parallel reasoning mechanism. To achieve comprehensive multi-modal reasoning, our method integrates a visual CoT for low-level spatial understanding and a linguistic CoT for high-level task planning. Furthermore, to overcome the latency bottleneck, we introduce a parallel CoT mechanism that incorporates two sets of learnable query tokens, shifting autoregressive reasoning to single-step forward reasoning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our DualCoT-VLA achieves state-of-the-art performance on the LIBERO and RoboCasa GR1 benchmarks, as well as in real-world platforms.

Physics Guided Exponential Model Design of High Ge Content SiGe Selective Epitaxy for Gate All Around Source/Drain Applications

High germanium content silicon germanium (SiGe) epitaxy is critical for strain engineering in advanced gate all around (GAA) transistors. This paper demonstrates a physics guided exponential function model that quantitatively links selective epitaxial growth (SEG) parameters to Ge incorporation kinetics in nanoscale trenches. By coupling surface diffusion limited transport, gradient strain, and competitive adsorption dynamics, the model predicts optimal conditions for bottom-up filling with maximal Ge content. For trenches with widths of approximately 60 nm, the optimized process achieved a maximum Ge content of 57.93% and demonstrated 100% selectivity against silicon nitride (SiN) and silicon dioxide (SiO). Cross sectional TEM and EDS analyses reveal a graded Ge profile that minimizes interfacial defects and strain energy. Our results show that the established process physics correlation will significantly facilitate the development of GAA devices with 5nm CMOS technology nodes and beyond.

FinDeepResearch: Evaluating Deep Research Agents in Rigorous Financial Analysis

Deep Research (DR) agents, powered by advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), have recently garnered increasing attention for their capability in conducting complex research tasks. However, existing literature lacks a rigorous and systematic evaluation of DR Agent's capabilities in critical research analysis. To address this gap, we first propose HisRubric, a novel evaluation framework with a hierarchical analytical structure and a fine-grained grading rubric for rigorously assessing DR agents' capabilities in corporate financial analysis. This framework mirrors the professional analyst's workflow, progressing from data recognition to metric calculation, and finally to strategic summarization and interpretation. Built on this framework, we construct a FinDeepResearch benchmark that comprises 64 listed companies from 8 financial markets across 4 languages, encompassing a total of 15,808 grading items. We further conduct extensive experiments on the FinDeepResearch using 16 representative methods, including 6 DR agents, 5 LLMs equipped with both deep reasoning and search capabilities, and 5 LLMs with deep reasoning capabilities only. The results reveal the strengths and limitations of these approaches across diverse capabilities, financial markets, and languages, offering valuable insights for future research and development. The benchmark and evaluation code is publicly available at https://OpenFinArena.com/.

Mixed norm estimates for dilated averages over planar curves

In this paper, we investigate the mixed norm estimates for the operator $ T $associated with a dilated plane curve $(ut, uγ(t))$, defined by \[ Tf(x, u) := \int_{0}^{1} f(x_1 - ut, x_2 - uγ(t)) \, dt, \] where $ x := (x_1, x_2) $ and $γ$ is a general plane curve satisfying appropriate smoothness and curvature conditions. More precisely, we establish the $ L_x^p(\mathbb{R}^2) \rightarrow L_x^q L_u^r(\mathbb{R}^2 \times [1, 2]) $ (space-time) estimates for $ T $, whenever $(\frac{1}{p},\frac{1}{q})$ satisfy \[ \max\left\{0, \frac{1}{2p} - \frac{1}{2r}, \frac{3}{p} - \frac{r+2}{r}\right\} < \frac{1}{q} \leq \frac{1}{p} < \frac{r+1}{2r} \] and $$1 + (1 + ω)\left(\frac{1}{q} - \frac{1}{p}\right) > 0,$$ where $ r \in [1, \infty] $ and $ ω:= \limsup_{t \rightarrow 0^+} \frac{\ln|γ(t)|}{\ln t} $. These results are sharp, except for certain borderline cases. Additionally, we examine the $ L_x^p(\mathbb{R}^2) \rightarrow L_u^r L_x^q(\mathbb{R}^2 \times [1, 2]) $ (time-space) estimates for $T $, which are especially almost sharp when $p=2$ or $p\in [1, \frac{3}{2}]\cup [4, \infty]$.

Open-world Hand-Object Interaction Video Generation Based on Structure and Contact-aware Representation

Generating realistic hand-object interactions (HOI) videos is a significant challenge due to the difficulty of modeling physical constraints (e.g., contact and occlusion between hands and manipulated objects). Current methods utilize HOI representation as an auxiliary generative objective to guide video synthesis. However, there is a dilemma between 2D and 3D representations that cannot simultaneously guarantee scalability and interaction fidelity. To address this limitation, we propose a structure and contact-aware representation that captures hand-object contact, hand-object occlusion, and holistic structure context without 3D annotations. This interaction-oriented and scalable supervision signal enables the model to learn fine-grained interaction physics and generalize to open-world scenarios. To fully exploit the proposed representation, we introduce a joint-generation paradigm with a share-and-specialization strategy that generates interaction-oriented representations and videos. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods on two real-world datasets in generating physics-realistic and temporally coherent HOI videos. Furthermore, our approach exhibits strong generalization to challenging open-world scenarios, highlighting the benefit of our scalable design. Our project page is https://hgzn258.github.io/SCAR/.

The Detectability of Lunar-Origin Asteroids in the LSST Era

While most near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) are thought to originate from the main belt, recent discoveries have suggested the existence of a lunar-derived NEA population, such as the asteroids Kamo'oalewa and 2024 PT5. These objects may hold key clues to the dynamical evolution of NEAs and the recent impact history of the Earth-Moon system. However, the population, distribution, and dynamical characteristics of these Lunar-Origin Asteroids (LOAs) remain poorly constrained. By combining the lunar ejecta production with N-body orbital simulations of the ejecta, we investigate their orbital evolution in the past millions of years and the current LOA population, revealing their significant potential for detection by future surveys. Specifically for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's upcoming Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), we predict an average detection rate of about 6 LOAs (with D > 5 m) per year. Additionally, we find that the LOAs tend to approach from sunward and anti-sunward directions, with encounter velocities significantly lower than those of typical NEAs. These findings offer valuable insights in guiding targeted ground-based surveys and planetary defense efforts for LOAs in the future.

FlowVLA: Visual Chain of Thought-based Motion Reasoning for Vision-Language-Action Models

Many Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models are built upon an internal world model trained via next-frame prediction ``$v_t \rightarrow v_{t+1}$''. However, this paradigm attempts to predict the future frame's appearance directly, without explicitly reasoning about the underlying dynamics. \textbf{This lack of an explicit motion reasoning step} often leads to physically implausible visual forecasts and inefficient policy learning. To address this limitation, we introduce the \textbf{Visual Chain of Thought (Visual CoT)}, a paradigm that compels the model to first reason about \textbf{motion dynamics} before generating the future frame. We instantiate this paradigm by proposing \textbf{FlowVLA}, an autoregressive Transformer that explicitly materializes this reasoning process as ``$v_t \rightarrow f_t \rightarrow v_{t+1}$'', where $f_t$ is an intermediate optical flow prediction that inherently encodes motion. By forcing the model to first follow the motion plan encoded by $f_t$, this process inherently \textbf{aligns the pre-training objective of dynamics prediction with the downstream task of action generation.} We conduct experiments on challenging robotics manipulation benchmarks, as well as real-robot evaluations. Our FlowVLA not only generates \textbf{more coherent and physically plausible visual predictions}, but also achieves state-of-the-art policy performance with \textbf{substantially improved sample efficiency}, pointing toward a more principled foundation for world modeling in VLAs. GBSK: Skeleton Clustering via Granular-ball Computing and Multi-Sampling for Large-Scale Data

To effectively handle clustering task for large-scale datasets, we propose a novel scalable skeleton clustering algorithm, namely GBSK, which leverages the granular-ball technique to capture the underlying structure of data. By multi-sampling the dataset and constructing multi-grained granular-balls, GBSK progressively uncovers a statistical "skeleton" -- a spatial abstraction that approximates the essential structure and distribution of the original data. This strategy enables GBSK to dramatically reduce computational overhead while maintaining high clustering accuracy. In addition, we introduce an adaptive version, AGBSK, with simplified parameter settings to enhance usability and facilitate deployment in real-world scenarios. Extensive experiments conducted on standard computing hardware demonstrate that GBSK achieves high efficiency and strong clustering performance on large-scale datasets, including one with up to 100 million instances across 256 dimensions. Our implementation and experimental results are available at: https://github.com/XFastDataLab/GBSK/.

BELT: Block Encoding of Linear Transformation on Density Matrices

Linear maps that are not completely positive play a crucial role in the study of quantum information, yet their non-completely positive nature renders them challenging to realize physically. The core difficulty lies in the fact that when acting such a map $\mathcal{N}$ on a state $ρ$, $\mathcal{N}(ρ)$ may not correspond to a valid density matrix, making it difficult to prepare directly in a physical system. We introduce Block Encoding of Linear Transformation (BELT), a systematic protocol that simulates arbitrary linear maps by embedding the output $\mathcal{N}(ρ)$ into a block of a unitary operator. BELT enables the manipulation and extraction of information about $\mathcal{N}(ρ)$ through coherent quantum evolution. Notably, BELT accommodates maps that fall outside the scope of quantum singular value transformation, such as the transpose map. BELT finds applications in entanglement detection, quantum channel inversion, and simulating pseudo-differential operators, and demonstrates improved sample complexity compared to protocols based on Hermitian-preserving map exponentiation.

Global Optimality in Multi-Flyby Asteroid Trajectory Optimization: Theory and Application Techniques

Designing optimal trajectories for multi-flyby asteroid missions is scientifically critical but technically challenging due to nonlinear dynamics, intermediate constraints, and numerous local optima. This paper establishes a method that approaches global optimality for multi-flyby trajectory optimization under a given sequence. The original optimal control problem with interior-point equality constraints is transformed into a multi-stage decision formulation. This reformulation enables direct application of dynamic programming in lower dimensions, and follows Bellman's principle of optimality. Moreover, the method provides a quantifiable bound on global optima errors introduced by discretization and approximation assumptions, thus ensuring a measure of confidence in the obtained solution. The method accommodates both impulsive and low-thrust maneuver schemes in rendezvous and flyby scenarios. Several computational techniques are introduced to enhance efficiency, including a specialized solution for bi-impulse cases and an adaptive step refinement strategy. The proposed method is validated through three problems: 1) an impulsive variant of the fourth Global Trajectory Optimization competition problem (GTOC4), 2) the GTOC11 problem, and 3) the original low-thrust GTOC4 problem. Each case demonstrates improvements in fuel consumption over the best-known trajectories. These results give evidence of the generality and effectiveness of the proposed method in global trajectory optimization.

Towards Temporal-Aware Multi-Modal Retrieval Augmented Generation in Finance

Finance decision-making often relies on in-depth data analysis across various data sources, including financial tables, news articles, stock prices, etc. In this work, we introduce FinTMMBench, the first comprehensive benchmark for evaluating temporal-aware multi-modal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems in finance. Built from heterologous data of NASDAQ 100 companies, FinTMMBench offers three significant advantages. 1) Multi-modal Corpus: It encompasses a hybrid of financial tables, news articles, daily stock prices, and visual technical charts as the corpus. 2) Temporal-aware Questions: Each question requires the retrieval and interpretation of its relevant data over a specific time period, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual periods. 3) Diverse Financial Analysis Tasks: The questions involve 10 different financial analysis tasks designed by domain experts, including information extraction, trend analysis, sentiment analysis and event detection, etc. We further propose a novel TMMHybridRAG method, which first leverages LLMs to convert data from other modalities (e.g., tabular, visual and time-series data) into textual format and then incorporates temporal information in each node when constructing graphs and dense indexes. Its effectiveness has been validated in extensive experiments, but notable gaps remain, highlighting the challenges presented by our FinTMMBench.

GALD-SE: Guided Anisotropic Lightweight Diffusion for Efficient Speech Enhancement

Speech enhancement is designed to enhance the intelligibility and quality of speech across diverse noise conditions. Recently, diffusion model has gained lots of attention in speech enhancement area, achieving competitive results. Current diffusion-based methods blur the signal with isotropic Gaussian noise and recover clean speech from the prior. However, these methods often suffer from a substantial computational burden. We argue that the computational inefficiency partially stems from the oversight that speech enhancement is not purely a generative task; it primarily involves noise reduction and completion of missing information, while the clean clues in the original mixture do not need to be regenerated. In this paper, we propose a method that introduces noise with anisotropic guidance during the diffusion process, allowing the neural network to preserve clean clues within noisy recordings. This approach substantially reduces computational complexity while exhibiting robustness against various forms of noise and speech distortion. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art results with only approximately 4.5 million parameters, a number significantly lower than that required by other diffusion methods. This effectively narrows the model size disparity between diffusion-based and predictive speech enhancement approaches. Additionally, the proposed method performs well in very noisy scenarios, demonstrating its potential for applications in highly challenging environments.

The Boundedness of the Bilinear Fractional Integrals along Curves

In this paper, for general curves $(t,γ(t))$ satisfying some suitable curvature conditions, we obtain some $L^p(\mathbb{R})\times L^q(\mathbb{R}) \rightarrow L^r(\mathbb{R})$ estimates for the bilinear fractional integrals $H_{α,γ}$ along the curves $(t,γ(t))$, where $$H_{α,γ}(f,g)(x):=\int_{0}^{\infty}f(x-t)g(x-γ(t))\,\frac{\textrm{d}t}{t^{1-α}}$$ and $α\in (0,1)$. At the same time, we also establish an almost sharp Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality, i.e., the $L^p(\mathbb{R})\rightarrow L^q(\mathbb{R})$ estimate, for the fractional integral operators $I_{α,γ}$ along the curves $(t,γ(t))$, where $$I_{α,γ}f(x):=\int_{0}^{\infty}\left|f(x-γ(t))\right|\,\frac{\textrm{d}t}{t^{1-α}}.$$

Advancing Robust Underwater Acoustic Target Recognition through Multi-task Learning and Multi-Gate Mixture-of-Experts

Underwater acoustic target recognition has emerged as a prominent research area within the field of underwater acoustics. However, the current availability of authentic underwater acoustic signal recordings remains limited, which hinders data-driven acoustic recognition models from learning robust patterns of targets from a limited set of intricate underwater signals, thereby compromising their stability in practical applications. To overcome these limitations, this study proposes a recognition framework called M3 (Multi-task, Multi-gate, Multi-expert) to enhance the model's ability to capture robust patterns by making it aware of the inherent properties of targets. In this framework, an auxiliary task that focuses on target properties, such as estimating target size, is designed. The auxiliary task then shares parameters with the recognition task to realize multi-task learning. This paradigm allows the model to concentrate on shared information across tasks and identify robust patterns of targets in a regularized manner, thereby enhancing the model's generalization ability. Moreover, M3 incorporates multi-expert and multi-gate mechanisms, allowing for the allocation of distinct parameter spaces to various underwater signals. This enables the model to process intricate signal patterns in a fine-grained and differentiated manner. To evaluate the effectiveness of M3, extensive experiments were implemented on the ShipsEar underwater ship-radiated noise dataset. The results substantiate that M3 has the ability to outperform the most advanced single-task recognition models, thereby achieving the state-of-the-art performance.

Adversarial multi-task underwater acoustic target recognition: towards robustness against various influential factors

Underwater acoustic target recognition based on passive sonar faces numerous challenges in practical maritime applications. One of the main challenges lies in the susceptibility of signal characteristics to diverse environmental conditions and data acquisition configurations, which can lead to instability in recognition systems. While significant efforts have been dedicated to addressing these influential factors in other domains of underwater acoustics, they are often neglected in the field of underwater acoustic target recognition. To overcome this limitation, this study designs auxiliary tasks that model influential factors (e.g., source range, water column depth, or wind speed) based on available annotations and adopts a multi-task framework to connect these factors to the recognition task. Furthermore, we integrate an adversarial learning mechanism into the multi-task framework to prompt the model to extract representations that are robust against influential factors. Through extensive experiments and analyses on the ShipsEar dataset, our proposed adversarial multi-task model demonstrates its capacity to effectively model the influential factors and achieve state-of-the-art performance on the 12-class recognition task.

High Mobility SiGe/Ge 2DHG Heterostructure Quantum Wells for Semiconductor Hole Spin Qubits

Strong spin-orbit coupling and relatively weak hyperfine interactions make germanium hole spin qubits a promising candidate for semiconductor quantum processors. The two-dimensional hole gas structure of strained Ge quantum wells serves as the primary material platform for spin hole qubits.A low disorder material environment is essential for this process. In this work, we fabricated a Ge/SiGe heterojunction with a 60 nm buried quantum well layer on a Si substrate using reduced pressure chemical vapor deposition technology. At a temperature of 16 mK, when the carrier density is 1.87*10^11/cm2, we obtained a mobility as high as 308.64*10^4cm2/Vs. Concurrently, double quantum dot and planar germanium coupling with microwave cavities were also successfully achieved. This fully demonstrates that this structure can be used for the preparation of higher-performance hole spin qubits.

StreamAAD: Decoding Spatial Auditory Attention with a Streaming Architecture

In this paper, we present our approach for the Track 1 of the Chinese Auditory Attention Decoding (Chinese AAD) Challenge at ISCSLP 2024. Most existing spatial auditory attention decoding (Sp-AAD) methods employ an isolated window architecture, focusing solely on global invariant features without considering relationships between different decision windows, which can lead to suboptimal performance. To address this issue, we propose a novel streaming decoding architecture, termed StreamAAD. In StreamAAD, decision windows are input to the network as a sequential stream and decoded in order, allowing for the modeling of inter-window relationships. Additionally, we employ a model ensemble strategy, achieving significant better performance than the baseline, ranking First in the challenge.

Enhancing spatial auditory attention decoding with neuroscience-inspired prototype training

The spatial auditory attention decoding (Sp-AAD) technology aims to determine the direction of auditory attention in multi-talker scenarios via neural recordings. Despite the success of recent Sp-AAD algorithms, their performance is hindered by trial-specific features in EEG data. This study aims to improve decoding performance against these features. Studies in neuroscience indicate that spatial auditory attention can be reflected in the topological distribution of EEG energy across different frequency bands. This insight motivates us to propose Prototype Training, a neuroscience-inspired method for Sp-AAD. This method constructs prototypes with enhanced energy distribution representations and reduced trial-specific characteristics, enabling the model to better capture auditory attention features. To implement prototype training, an EEGWaveNet that employs the wavelet transform of EEG is further proposed. Detailed experiments indicate that the EEGWaveNet with prototype training outperforms other competitive models on various datasets, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is also validated. As a training method independent of model architecture, prototype training offers new insights into the field of Sp-AAD.
