Greybody factor of scalar field from Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter black hole

In this work we derive a general expression for the greybody factor of non-minimally coupled scalar fields in Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter spacetime in low frequency approximation. In particular case of zero momentum, greybody factor tends to zero in low frequency limit as frequency squared goes to zero for non-vanishing coupling. We also elaborate the significance of the results by giving formulae of differential energy rate and general absorption cross section. The greybody factor gives insight into the spectrum of Hawking radiations.

Greybody factor of scalar fields from black strings

The greybody factor of massless, uncharged scalar fields is studied in the background of cylindrically symmetric spacetimes, in the low-energy approximation. We discuss two cases. In the first case we derive analytical expression for the absorption probability when the spacetime is kinetically coupled with the Einstein tensor. In the second case we do the analysis in the absence of the coupling constant. For this purpose we analyze the wave equation which is obtained from Klein-Gordon equation. The radial part of the wave equation is solved in the form of the hypergeometric function in the near horizon region, whereas in the far region the solution is of the form of Bessel's function. Finally, considering continuity of the wave function we smoothly match the two solutions in the low energy approximation to get the formula for the absorption probability.

Accelerating black holes, spin-3/2 fields and C-metric

We consider spin-3/2 particles on the background of general accelerating black holes and C-metric. The Rarita-Schwinger equations of spin-3/2 particles are analyzed on these backgrounds. The emission and absorption probabilities of the spin-3/2 particles on these spacetimes are calculated. These backgrounds which we analyze contain both black hole horizon and acceleration horizon, and have general electric and magnetic charges, rotation, and acceleration parameter. The properties of the spin-3/2 field near the acceleration horizon are also computed.

Quantum tunneling from three-dimensional black holes

We study Hawking radiation from three-dimensional black holes. For this purpose the emission of charged scalar and charged fermionic particles is investigated from charged BTZ black holes, with and without rotation. We use the quantum tunneling approach incorporating WKB approximation and spacetime symmetries. Another class of black hole which is asymptotic to a Sol three-manifold has also been investigated. This procedure gives us the tunneling probability of outgoing particles, and we compute the temperature of the radiation for these black holes. We also consider the quantum tunneling of particles from black hole asymptotic to Sol geometry.

Quantum tunneling from scalar fields in rotating black strings

Using the Hamilton-Jacobi method of quantum tunneling and complex path integration, we study Hawking radiation of scalar particles from rotating black strings. We discuss tunneling of both charged and uncharged scalar particles from the event horizons. For this purpose, we use the Klein-Gordon equation and find the tunneling probability of outging scalar particles. The procedure gives Hawking temperature for rotating charged black strings as well.

Emission of scalar particles from cylindrical black holes

We study quantum tunneling of scalar particles from black strings. For this purpose we apply WKB approximation and Hamilton-Jacobi method to solve the Klein-Gordon equation for outgoing trajectories. We find the tunneling probability of outgoing charged and uncharged scalars from the event horizon of black strings, and hence the Hawking temperature for these black configurations.

Hawking temperature of rotating charged black strings from tunneling

Thermal radiations from spherically symmetric black holes have been studied from the point of view of quantum tunneling. In this paper we extend this approach to study radiation of fermions from charged and rotating black strings. Using WKB approximation and Hamilton-Jacobi method we work out the tunneling probabilities of incoming and outgoing fermions and find the correct Hawking temperature for these objects. We show that in appropriate limits the results reduce to those for the uncharged and non-rotating black strings.

Hawking radiation of Dirac particles from black strings

Hawking radiation has been studied as a phenomenon of quantum tunneling in different black holes. In this paper we extend this semi-classical approach to cylindrically symmetric black holes. Using the Hamilton-Jacobi method and WKB approximation we calculate the tunneling probabilities of incoming and outgoing Dirac particles from the event horizon and find the Hawking temperature of these black holes. We obtain results both for uncharged as well as charged particles.

Thermodynamics of charged and rotating black strings

We study thermodynamics of cylindrically symmetric black holes. Uncharged as well as charged and rotating objects have been discussed. We derive surface gravity and hence the Hawking temperature and entropy for all these cases. We correct some results in the literature and present new ones. It is seen that thermodynamically these black configurations behave differently from spherically symmetric objects.

Tunneling of Dirac particles from accelerating and rotating black holes

Hawking radiation from black holes has been studied as a phenomenon of quantum tunneling of particles through their horizons. We have extended this approach to study the tunneling of Dirac particles from a large class of black holes which includes those with acceleration and rotation as well. We have calculated the tunneling probability of incoming and outgoing particles, and recovered the correct Hawking temperature by this method.

Charged fermions tunneling from accelerating and rotating black holes

We study Hawking radiation of charged fermions from accelerating and rotation black holes with electric and magnetic charges. We calculate the tunneling probabilities of incoming and outgoing fermionic particles and find the Hawking temperature of these black holes. We also provide an explicit expression of the classical action for the massive and massless particles in the background of these black holes.

Thermodynamics of noncommutative BTZ black hole

Thermodynamics of the BTZ black hole in noncommutative geometry is studied. We work out the Hawking temperature and entropy which reduce to their commutative limits when the noncommutativity parameter tends to zero. We also discuss the range of validity of the Hawking area law in the noncommutative case and provide graphical analysis. We see that the law is not valid unless the outer horizon is very large.

Thermodynamic Geometry Of Charged Rotating BTZ Black Holes

We study the thermodynamics and the thermodynamic geometries of charged rotating BTZ (CR-BTZ) black holes in (2+1)-gravity. We investigate the thermodynamics of these systems within the context of the Weinhold and Ruppeiner thermodynamic geometries and the recently developed formalism of geometrothermodynamics (GTD). Considering the behavior of the heat capacity and the Hawking temperature, we show that Weinhold and Ruppeiner geometries cannot describe completely the thermodynamics of these black holes and of their limiting case of vanishing electric charge. In contrast, the Legendre invariance imposed on the metric in GTD allows one to describe the CR-BTZ black holes and their limiting cases in a consistent and invariant manner.

Do the Ricci and energy-momentum tensors have "duality'' in the context of their Lie symmetries?

The Ricci and energy-momentum tensors have the same algebraic symmetries. In the Einstein equations they look ``dual'' to each other, in that interchanging them and inverting the gravitational coupling leaves the equations invariant. It may then be expected that their differential symmetry Lie algebras would also be identical. Using cylindrically symmetric static spacetimes it is shown that they are not identical and neither algebra is a subset of the other.

Thermodynamics of accelerating and rotating black holes

Thermodynamics of a large family of black holes from electrovacuum solutions of Einstein's equations is studied. This family includes rotating and non-accelerating black holes with NUT charge, and rotating and accelerating black holes. The surface gravity, Hawking temperature and the area laws for these black holes are presented. The first law of thermodynamics is also given. An interesting outcome of our analysis is the restriction obtained on the magnitude of acceleration for these black holes.

Curvature and Weyl collineations of spacetimes

Lie symmetries of various geometrical and physical quantities in general relativity play an important role in understanding the curvature structure of manifolds. The Riemann curvature and Weyl tensors are two fourth-rank tensors in the theory. Interrelations between the symmetries of these two tensors (known as collineations) are studied. Some illustrative examples are also provided.
