Glueball gravitational form factors in dynamical holography

We present the first holographic study of gravitational form factors (GFFs) of scalar, pseudoscalar and canonical-spin-averaged tensor glueball targets. These observables test gravitational cubic couplings whose physical validity is not established by spectra and static-force calibration. We construct a dynamical Einstein--scalar--axion representation inspired by the Babington--Crooks--Evans adjoint-mass deformation of $\mathcal N=4$ super-Yang--Mills theory and its Type-IIB supergravity dual. Leading ultraviolet source data are retained, while a soft-wall-like infrared reconstruction incorporates asymptotically linear radial mass-squared trajectories. Spectra and Wilson observables fix the parameters at a common Sommer scale without GFF input. The full constrained cubic vertices fail to describe 27 correlated scalar lattice observations, giving $χ^2/\mathrm{dof}=73.60/27=2.73$. We propose normalized heavy-target (HT) effective cubic couplings for pure-glue matching. HT adopts leading radial shapes suggested by infinitely heavy targets at fixed probe dynamics and normalizes their overlap weights on the physical ground states. With the background, modes and propagators unchanged, HT gives $χ^2/\mathrm{dof}=16.98/27=0.63$, without numerical adjustment to GFF data. Tensor and scalar source overlaps determine $A$ and the physical normalized trace; the exact finite-mass energy--momentum-tensor relation determines $D$. We predict the pseudoscalar and tensor form factors and three-target Breit pressure and shear profiles. On the reference infrared-decaying axion branch, the HT Breit mass radii are $0.276$, $0.300$ and $0.311\,\mathrm{fm}$, respectively. The results identify gravitational cubic matching as a distinct step beyond background calibration and provide a prescription for further lattice tests.

Momentum-projected hadron entanglement from lattice-QCD replica correlators

We define a finite-volume lattice-QCD observable for the vacuum-subtracted spatial Rényi response of a source--sink-prepared, momentum-projected hadron. At fixed regulator, integer replica index $n>1$, spatial region and gauge-theory cut prescription, double-sided state projection expresses this response as a ratio of replicated and ordinary hadron correlators. The first numerical target is the $n=2$ ratio; its proposed $L^{-3}$ scaling at fixed physical region is to be tested with matched volumes. We implement the measurement in quenched SU(3) for a charged pseudoscalar meson with heavy degenerate Wilson valence quarks, $am_{\rm eff}\simeq2.07$, on two $16^3\times32$ sheets with a central-plaquette cut. Five finite balls and empty/full controls are measured at nine source/sink placements. Their finite-ball means increase with radius at every placement. At the reference placement the three largest responses are 1.6--2.5 times an ideal single-quasiparticle occupancy reference. A full-covariance fit $Δ_{\rm cp}=κ_{\rm occ}S_2^{\rm occ}$ gives $κ_{\rm occ}=1.68\pm0.12$; radius-window and full-control comparisons give values spanning $1.49$--$1.73$. An exact pure-state quark--antiquark pair model interpolates, in the dilute limit, between the unit-occupancy reference ($κ_{\rm occ}=1$) for an unresolved meson and the double-occupancy reference ($κ_{\rm occ}=2$) for a separately resolved quark and antiquark, and yields a boundary-area correction governed by their separation.

Spin resummation of heavy quarkonium photoproduction: from the gluonic gravitational form factors to the holographic pomeron

Exclusive heavy quarkonium photoproduction probes the proton's gluonic structure from near-threshold (fixed-spin exchanges, gravitational form factors) to high energies (reggeized dynamics). We construct a holographic QCD amplitude that resums the even spin-$j$ gluonic exchanges, with the spin-2 input fixed by lattice QCD GFFs. The new framework describes the $J/ψ$ cross section from JLab to HERA energies in a unified manner. It explains why the spin-2 exchange model for GFF extraction near threshold is not a controlled approximation and suggests how to improve it.

Gluon GTMD at strong coupling: fixed-spin saddle factorization and Reggeization

Generalized transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions (GTMDs) are the most complete two-parton correlation functions in QCD, encoding the joint spatial and momentum structure of hadrons. Through appropriate projections and limits they yield generalized parton distributions (GPDs), transverse-momentum-dependent distributions (TMDs), parton distribution functions (PDFs), and phase-space (Wigner) distributions. We construct conformal moments of unpolarized gluon GTMDs at strong coupling using gauge/string duality. For fixed even conformal spin $j$, we distinguish the local boundary limit at $b_T=0$ from the finite-separation regime $b_T>0$, where the planar semiclassical amplitude is governed by a minimal worldsheet. There the GTMD moment factorizes into a universal staple-worldsheet soft factor and a stripped spin-$j$ Witten amplitude carrying target dependence. The cusp of the renormalized minimal area generates the rapidity-logarithmic Collins-Soper structure. We derive universal ultraviolet and infrared endpoint reductions. As $b_T\to0^+$, the finite-separation sector matches onto the local conformal moment through a universal overlap kernel. At large $b_T$, after cusp/perimeter subtraction, it factorizes into target projections and infrared transfer kernels. The ultraviolet endpoint is universal within the leading saddle, whereas the infrared tail depends on the holographic completion: soft-wall, gap-matched hard-wall, and repulsive-wall backgrounds generate algebraic, exponential, and Gaussian falloffs, respectively. Analytic continuation in $j$ yields the low-$x$ Regge regime governed by the holographic Pomeron spectral curve. The framework describes hadron tomography, transverse structure, rapidity evolution, and Reggeization for GTMD moments and provides a unified starting point for holographic studies of observables relevant to the Electron-Ion Collider.

From Vacuum to Nucleon: Fixed-$j$ Kernel Matching of Holographic Current Correlators to QCD

We show that the normalized non-normalizable photon profile fixed by the vacuum vector-current two-point function, when inserted into the fixed-$j$ hadronic Witten diagram, produces the fixed-$j$ conformal hard kernel in the leading-twist singlet vector channel of deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and double deeply virtual Compton scattering (DDVCS). For the near-boundary Brower--Polchinski--Strassler--Tan closed-string upper vertex, the Witten diagram yields the Gauss-hypergeometric Wilson-kernel family of the QCD conformal OPE, with the Mellin exponent derived from the explicit $z$-power count $δ_c(j)=j+Δ_c(j)-2$, not inserted as an ansatz. The lower Witten vertex is matched to, or provides a holographic representation of, the nonperturbative conformal moment; it is not a new hard kernel or a freely adjustable skewness profile. The matching is TT-projected, kernel-level, and fixed-scale in the conformal partial-wave/CS representation: finite coefficient normalizations, spin-$j$ source normalizations, scale factors, and lower hadronic matrix elements remain matched inputs. Together with the Nishio--Watari open branch and the protected/unprotected $j=2$ split, this structurally identifies the protected closed branch with the $(-)$ conformal partial wave and the even open branch with the unprotected $(+)$ counterpart in the projected fixed-$j$ singlet vector amplitude; these are mixed singlet eigenchannels, not literal unmixed quark/gluon operators at finite $N_c$. The conformal/Gegenbauer basis used in generalized parton distribution (GPD) deconvolution therefore has a second ultraviolet origin: it is selected both by the QCD OPE and by the near-boundary AdS Witten vertex.

Holographic Open/Closed Exchange in Double Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering: Fixed-$j$ Structural Matching to the $\pm$-Basis Wilson Kernels

We show that fixed--$j$ holographic double deeply virtual Compton scattering (DDVCS), and its DVCS limit, give a fixed-scale structural match to the singlet conformal-OPE Wilson-kernel family of QCD in the leading-twist unpolarized singlet vector channel. The open-string $C_1(δ,\vartheta)$ hypergeometric kernel was derived by Nishio--Watari; the new closed-string result is that the BPST upper Witten vertex gives the same family with a different near-boundary power count, because $Δ_c(j)$ is fixed by the BPST trajectory rather than by open-Regge data. The Mellin exponent is therefore derived as $δ_c(j)=j+Δ_c(j)-2=2j+γ_c(j)$ rather than inserted by hand. The even open branch gives the parallel unprotected counterpart in the projected singlet vector amplitude. At $Q=μ=μ_0=μ_\ast$, the point is not merely that equal-endpoint evolution is trivial; it is that the ultraviolet Witten vertex has already produced the fixed--$j$ conformal kernel before the lower conformal moment is matched. In the conformal partial-wave/CS representation, beta-proportional conformal-anomaly terms and scheme transformations are coefficient/evolution bookkeeping away from the matching point, not replacements for the projected fixed-scale hypergeometric $η/ξ$ Wilson-kernel family. The protected/unprotected $j=2$ split identifies the protected closed branch with the $(-)$ conformal partial wave and the even open branch with the unprotected $(+)$ counterpart; these are mixed singlet eigenchannels, not literal unmixed quark/gluon operators at finite $N_c$. Thus, once the lower Witten vertex is matched to constrained conformal moments, the DVCS/DDVCS deconvolution problem is organized in a physical operator basis rather than in arbitrary $x$-space profiles.

Rapidity-Dependent Spin Decomposition of the Nucleon

We show that the two-dimensional Fourier transform of the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) has two distinct interpretations: at zero skewness ($η=0$) it yields the familiar impact-parameter density, while at finite skewness ($η\neq 0$) it encodes a genuine parton-nucleon correlation whose norm decreases predictably with the rapidity gap $Δy = 2\mathrm{artanh} η$. This rapidity dependence produces universal rapidity-modified Ji identities linking helicity, orbital, and total angular momenta analytically. Using linear open- and closed string Regge trajectories constrained by empirical PDFs, spectroscopy and form factor data, we obtain the leading twist GPDs $H,E,\widetilde{H}$ across the full $(x,η,t)$ range. Numerical Mellin Barnes inversion agrees with existing lattice data and yields rapidity resolved predictions for Jefferson Lab 12 GeV, the Electron Ion Collider, and forthcoming lattice studies.

String-based axial and helicity-flip GPDs: a comparison to lattice QCD

We construct an analytic, string based representation of the nucleon's axial and helicity flip conformal moments of generalized parton distributions that holds for any skewness and for both the quark and gluon channels. The starting point is the Mellin Barnes resummation of the conformal partial wave expansion, where the moments are parametrized by open (Reggeon) and closed string (Pomeron) trajectories with slopes determined by experimental form factors and meson/glueball spectroscopy. The forward limits are fixed by the empirical unpolarized and polarized parton distributions. Polynomiality, crossing symmetry and support are satisfied by construction. After NLO DGLAP ERBL evolution to $μ=2$ GeV our analytic framework (i) reproduces some of the currently available lattice moments of $\mathbb{E}$ and $\widetilde{\mathbb{H}}$ in the non singlet sector, (ii) predicts sea quark and gluon polarized moments that will be testable by forthcoming simulations and experiments at Jefferson Lab and the future EIC, and (iii) yields axial and helicity flip GPDs in $x$ space in reasonable agreement with lattice QCD.

Entanglement, Trace Anomaly and Confinement in QCD

We formulate confinement in QCD as an entropic surface phenomenon. Quark and gluon quantum information is localized on a transverse entangling two-sphere of radius $R_{EE}$; at this radius the QCD vacuum -- partitioned by a hadron into interior and exterior regions -- reaches its maximal entanglement entropy. Lattice-QCD determinations of the scalar (trace) gravitational form factors fix both $R_{EE}$ and the transverse trace-anomaly density $ρ_h(R_{EE})$, yielding a parameter-free slope $c_h = 8π^2 R_{EE}^2\,ρ_h(R_{EE})$ and a mechanical entropy $S_{EE}(y)=c_h\,y$ that grows linearly with rapidity $y$. The entropy gradient $\partial_R S_{EE}$ changes sign at $R_{EE}$: it pushes colored degrees of freedom outward for $r R_{EE}$, thereby localizing them on the codimension-2 entangling two-sphere $Σ_\perp = S^2_{R_{EE}}$ (which, in the infinite-momentum frame, projects onto the transverse plane), the 'information wall'. This provides a high-energy (large-$y$) entropic confinement diagnostic that complements -- rather than replaces -- Wilson's area-law criterion, which probes long-distance dynamics near the rest frame ($y\to 0$). Imposing unitarity on an entropic ansatz for the amplitude yields $σ(s)\propto y^δ$. World data favor $δ=2$ for elastic $pp\,(p\bar p)$ scattering and heavy-quark photoproduction, whereas $ϕ$ photoproduction favors a softer $δ=0.387$. All extracted cross sections remain well below the Froissart--Martin bound. These results provide a confinement criterion quantified directly from non-perturbative QCD inputs, unifying the trace anomaly, entanglement entropy, and high-energy scattering within a single quantitative framework.

String-based parametrization of nucleon GPDs at any skewness: a comparison to lattice QCD

We introduce a string-based parametrization for nucleon quark and gluon generalized parton distributions (GPDs) valid at all skewness values. The conformal moments of the GPDs are expressed as sums of the spin-j nucleon A-form factor, and the skewness-dependent spin-j nucleon D-form factor. This representation, which fulfills the polynomiality condition (due to Lorentz invariance) and does not rely on model-specific assumptions, is derived from t-channel string exchanges in AdS spaces. The spin-j nucleon D-form factor is closely related to the the spin-j nucleon A-form factor. We use the Mellin moments from empirical parton distributions to model the spin-j nucleon A-form factors. Using only five Regge slope parameters, fixed from the electromagnetic and gravitational form factors, our string-based parametrization generates accurate singlet, non-singlet, isovector, and flavor-separated nucleon quark GPDs, along with symmetric nucleon gluon GPDs from their Mellin-Barnes integral representations. Our isovector nucleon quark GPD is in agreement with existing lattice data. Our string-based parametrization should facilitate the empirical extraction and global analysis of nucleon GPDs in exclusive processes, bypassing the deconvolution challenge.

Parametrization of GPDs from t-channel string exchange in AdS spaces

We introduce a string-based parametrization for nucleon quark and gluon generalized parton distributions (GPDs) that is valid for all skewness. Our approach leverages conformal moments, representing them as the sum of spin-j nucleon A-form factor and skewness-dependent spin-j nucleon D-form factor, derived from t-channel string exchange in AdS spaces consistent with Lorentz invariance and unitarity. This model-independent framework, satisfying the polynomiality condition due to Lorentz invariance, uses Mellin moments from empirical data to estimate these form factors. With just five Regge slope parameters, our method accurately produces various nucleon quark GPD types and symmetric nucleon gluon GPDs through pertinent Mellin-Barnes integrals. Our isovector nucleon quark GPD is in agreement with existing lattice data, promising to improve the empirical extraction and global analysis of nucleon GPDs in exclusive processes, by avoiding the deconvolution problem at any skewness, for the first time.

Net-Proton Number Cumulants in Strongly and Weakly Coupled QGP

We provide a description of the QCD phase diagram across different energy regimes. Without any adjustable free parameters fitted to lattice or experimental data, we demonstrate that the net-proton number cumulant ratios from the Beam Energy Scan-I (BES-I) central ($0-5\%$) Au+Au collision experiments at RHIC, for center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} \geq 39\,\text{GeV}$, are well described by the $\textit{dynamical soft-wall}$ AdS black hole model, indicating the formation of a strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) dominated by gluons in the large $N_c$ limit. We identify a critical point at $μ_B = 247\,\text{MeV}$ or $\sqrt{s}=16\,\text{GeV}$ in this model, where net-proton cumulant ratios show non-monotonic variation. However, for $\sqrt{s} < 39\,\text{GeV}$, the recent BES-II data does not exhibit the expected variation due to the critical point, suggesting instead a transition to a nearly-cold ($μ_B \gg T$) weakly coupled QGP (wQGP), for $\sqrt{s} < 7.7\,\text{GeV}$, dominated by valence quarks. This prediction can be tested by the upcoming STAR Fixed-Target experimental data.

Threshold photoproduction of $η_c$ and $η_b$ using holographic QCD

We discuss the possibility that threshold photoproduction of $η_{c,b}$ may be sensitive to the pseudovector $1^{+-}$ glueball exchange. We use the holographic construction to identify the pseudovector glueball with the Kalb-Ramond field, minimally coupled to bulk Dirac fermions. We derive the holographic C-odd form factor and its respective charge radius. Using the pertinent Witten diagrams, we derive and analyze the differential photoproduction cross section for $η_{c,b}$ in the threshold regime, including the interference from the dual bulk photon exchange with manifest vector dominance. The possibility of measuring this process at current and future electron facilities is discussed.

Holographic Odderon at TOTEM ?

We consider the contribution of the Odderon to diffractive $pp$ and $p\bar p$ elastic scattering at large center of mass energy. We identify the Odderon and Pomeron with the Reggeized $1^{\pm-}$ and $2^{++}$ glueballs in the bulk, respectively. We use for the gravity dual description the repulsive wall model, to account for the proper Gribov diffusion for off-forward scattering. The eikonalized and unitarized amplitudes exhibit a vanishingly small rho-parameter, and a slope parameter fixed by twice the closed string slope. The results for the differential and total cross sections are compared to the empirical results reported recently by the TOTEM collaboration.

Quark and gluon GPDs at finite skewness from strings in holographic QCD: evolved and compared to experiment

We present a framework for constructing Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) using holographic QCD in the large $N_c$ limit, with a focus on low-x and finite skewness. Our approach utilizes holographic amplitudes for exclusive electroproduction processes to extract the spin-j conformal (Gegenbauer) moments of GPDs, which are then evolved to higher resolution scales using QCD evolution equations. Our evolved GPDs (reconstructed from their evolved conformal moments) are applied to analyze the electroproduction of $ρ^{0,+}$ and $ϕ$ mesons, and we account for non-perturbative contributions in the $s+u$ - channel using holographic QCD. The results compare well with the existing experimental data. Our GPDs provide detailed information about partonic distributions and are useful for future experimental studies and global data analyses.

$J/ψ$ near threshold in holographic QCD: A and D gravitational form factors

The diffractive photoproduction of $J/Ψ$ on a nucleon, is mostly due to gluonic exchanges at all $\sqrt{s}$. In holographic QCD (large number of colors and strong $^\prime$t Hooft coupling), these exchanges are captured by gravitons near threshold, and their Reggeized Pomeron form asymptotically. We revisit our holographic analysis of the A and D gravitational form factors in light of the new lattice data, and use them to refine our predictions for the photoproduction of $J/Ψ$ near threshold, and the comparison to the GlueX data. We use these results to estimate the scalar and mass radii of the nucleon, and describe the gravitational pressure and shear across a nucleon.

Electromagnetic radii of the nucleon in soft-wall holographic QCD

We revisit the electromagnetic form factors of the proton and neutron in the original-minimal soft-wall holographic QCD, which has only two parameters, i.e., the mass scale $κ$ and the twist parameter of the nucleon $τ$. We first fix $τ=3$ by the hard scattering rule, and extract $κ=0.402~\text{GeV}$ from the world data (including the Mainz A1 data) of the Sachs magnetic form factor of the proton $G_M^p$. We then predict among others, the charge radius of the proton to be $\bf{r_{p}=0.831\,\pm\,0.008\,\,\text{fm}}$, in perfect agreement with the recent charge radius of the proton measured by the PRad collaboration at Jefferson Lab, and in agreement with the muonic hydrogen experiments. Our prediction for the proton elastic form factor ratio $μ_pG_E^p/G_M^p$ is also in very good agreement with the recent high precision Jefferson Lab recoil polarization experiment E08-007 for $Q^2=0.3\,-\,0.6~\text{GeV}^2$, and with the recent high precision Mainz A1 experiment for $Q^2< 0.13~\text{GeV}^2$.

Holographic charm and bottom pentaquarks III: Excitations through photo-production of heavy mesons

We consider the photo-excitation of charm and bottom pentaquarks with the holographic assignments $[\frac 12\frac 12^-]_{S=0,1}$ and $[\frac 12\frac 32^-]_{S=1}$, in the photo-production of heavy vector mesons such as charmonia and bottomonia near threshold. We use a Witten diagram to combine the s-channel photo-excitation of holographic pentaquarks with a massive t-channel graviton or tensor glueball exchange, to extract the scattering amplitude for heavy meson photo-production in the threshold region. The pentaquark signal is too weak to be detected at current electron facilities.
