Two-Parameter Ansatz for the Violation of Eigenstate Thermalization

The eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH) provides the prevailing framework for understanding quantum thermalization and ergodicity in isolated many-body systems. Yet, no general theory describes the continuous onset of ETH violation between the conventional ETH and its complete breakdown. Here, we introduce a two-parameter ansatz for the ETH violation that unifies and distinguishes two mechanisms: fading ergodicity and trapped ergodicity. While fading ergodicity captures the established route to ergodicity breaking, trapped ergodicity describes a distinct scenario in which ETH is violated in finite systems but restored in the thermodynamic limit. We test this framework in the spin-1/2 $J_1$-$J_2$ chains with on-site disorder and linear potential. In both cases, we find that the observed ETH violation is consistent with trapped ergodicity.

Quasi-Particle Dynamics in Quasi-Periodic Ising Model with Temporally Fluctuating Transverse Fields

We study quasi-particle dynamics in a quasi-periodic Ising model with temporally fluctuating transverse fields. Specifically, we calculate the dynamical exponents of the standard deviation of a quasi-particle spreading under a field chosen randomly from binary values $\pm h$ at every time interval. We find that the short-time behavior of the dynamical exponents depends on the interval of the temporally fluctuating fields. We also reveal how the quasi-particle dynamics affects the relaxation of spin-spin correlation functions. The dynamics can be explained via the overlap between the eigenvectors of a Hamiltonian with $\pm h$.

Quantum Singular Value Decomposition of Spin Correlation Matrix in One-Dimensional Heisenberg Model

We present singular value decomposition of spin correlation matrix defined from the ground state of one-dimensional antiferromagnetic quantum Heisenberg model. The decomposition creates a data set that coincides with various domain excitations from classical antiferromagnetic state. We determine the scaling relation for the singular values as a function of the domain size. The singular values are closely related to the square of weights of the bases in the ground-state wavefunction. The nature of the singular value decomposition is to precisely estimate the appropriate bases and corresponding weights of the ground-state wavefunction.

Voltage-Controlled Magnonic Spin Tunneling Junction

We theoretically investigate the effective exchange interaction, $J_\mathrm{eff}$, mediated by conductive electrons within a nonmagnetic metal spacer, in the presence of a bias voltage, sandwiched by two ferromagnetic insulators. On the basis of the tight-binding model, we show the voltage and spacer thickness dependences of $J_\mathrm{eff}$, and its contorollability is demonstrated. We also propose a new magnonic device with the functions of both field effect transistor and non-volatile memory.
