Tensor analyzing power $T_{20}$ in the reaction $γ\vec{d}\to pn$ at photon energies 350-680 MeV

We present measurements of the tensor analyzing power $T_{20}$ in the reaction $γ{d}\to pn$ at photon energies $E_γ= 350$-$680$~MeV. The experiment was performed at the VEPP-3 storage ring using an internal tensor-polarized deuterium gas target and a tagged quasi-real photon beam. The data were obtained for proton emission angles $Θ_p = 70^\circ$-$102^\circ$. Comparison with modern meson-baryon calculations shows generally satisfactory agreement within the present uncertainties. A theoretical analysis of an extended data set, covering the energy range from threshold to 680~MeV and including both the new data and the previous results from 2007, is presented.

The branching fraction measurements of $J/ψ$ decay into $ρη$ and $ϕη$ final states

We present measurements of the branching fractions for the $J/ψ$ meson decays into the $ρη$ and $ϕη$ final states, based on data collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The data set consisted of 4.93 million $J/ψ$ events. The resulting branching fractions are: - $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to ρη) = (2.04 \pm 0.58 \pm 0.39)\times 10^{-4}$, - $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to ϕη) = (7.82 \pm 1.17 \pm 0.58) \times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic. In the study of the $ρη$ decay, the dynamics of $J/ψ\toπ^+π^-η$ is analyzed. The hints from contributions of $ρ(1450)η$ and $a^{\pm}_2π^{\mp}$ intermediate states are observed. Additional measured branching fractions in the model that includes $ρ(1450)η$ and $a^{\pm}_2π^{\mp}$ are: - $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to π^+π^-η) = (4.73 \pm 0.49 \pm 1.17)\times10^{-4}$, - $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to (a_2^+π^- + a_2^- π^+)) = (1.05\pm 0.37 \pm 0.34)\times 10^{-3}$, - $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to ρ(1450)η\to π^+π^-η) < 1.51 \times 10^{-4}$, at a confidence level of 90\%. All results are consistent with previous studies.

New measurement of D0 and D+ meson masses with the KEDR detector

Using the 4.9 pb$^{-1}$ statistics collected at the peak of the $ψ(3770)$ resonance with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider, we measured the masses of the neutral and charged D mesons: $M_{D^0} = 1865.100 \pm 0.210 (stat) \pm 0.046 (syst) MeV,$ and $M_{D^+} = 1869.560 \pm 0.288 (stat) \pm 0.109 (syst) MeV$.

Measurement of the branching fraction of $J/ψ\rightarrowρπ$ at KEDR

We present the study of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrow ρπ$. The results are based on of 5.2~million $J/ψ$ events collected by the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The branching fractions are measured to be $\B(J/ψ\rightarrow ρπ) = \big(2.072\pm 0.017 \pm 0.062 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$ and $\B(J/ψ\rightarrow π^+π^-π^0) = \big(1.878 \pm 0.013 \pm 0.051 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.

Time Projection Chamber as Inner Tracker for Super Charm-Tau Factory at BINP

At present time Budker INP is developing a Super Charm-Tau factory project, which consists of a high-luminosity collider with the luminosity of $10^{35}$,cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ and a universal magnetic detector. The tracking system of the detector will comprise of an Inner Tracker (IT) and a Drift Chamber (DC). One of the options for IT is Time Projection Chamber (TPC). The advantages of the TPC are high spatial resolution and particle identification capabilities by registration of dE/dx losses. However, using a Time Projection Chamber implies serious challenges. For example, the TPC have to simultaneously deal with tracks from several thousands events and maintain the enormous data rate. This work describes the results of the Monte-Carlo studies of the transport characteristics in various gas mixtures proposed for TPC. Besides of this, the simulation of the ion back flow and its effect on spatial resolution will be reported.

A concept of the photon collider beam dump

Photon beams at photon colliders are very narrow, powerful (10--15 MW) and cannot be spread by fast magnets (because photons are neutral). No material can withstand such energy density. For the ILC-based photon collider, we suggest using a 150 m long, pressurized (P ~ 4 atm) argon gas target in front of a water absorber which solves the overheating and mechanical stress problems. The neutron background at the interaction point is estimated and additionally suppressed using a 20 m long hydrogen gas target in front of the argon.

Application of introduced nano-diamonds for the study of carbon condensation during detonation of high explosives

This paper describes the experimental studies of the formation of nano-diamonds during detonation of TNT/RDX 50/50 mixture with small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) method at a synchrotron radiation beam on VEPP-3 accelerator. A new experimental method with introduction of nano-diamonds into the explosive has been applied. Inclusion of the diamonds obtained after detonation into the TNT and RDX explosives allows modelling of the case of instant creation of nano-diamonds during detonation.

Detector for imaging of explosions: present status and future prospects with higher energy X-rays

The detector for imaging of explosions (DIMEX) is in operation at the synchrotron radiation (SR) beam-line at VEPP-3 electron ring at Budker INP since 2002. DIMEX is based on one-coordinate gas ionization chamber filled with Xe-CO2(3:1) mixture at 7atm, and active Frisch-grid made of Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM). The detector has spatial resolution of ~0.2mm and dynamic range of ~100 that allows to realize the precision of signal measurement at a percent level. The frame rate can be tuned up to 8 MHz (125 ns per image) and up to 32 images can be stored in one shot. At present DIMEX is used with the X-ray beam from 2T wiggler that has ~20 keV average energy. Future possibility to install similar detector at the SR beam-line at VEPP-4 electron ring is discussed.

Development of one-coordinate gaseous detector for wide angle diffraction studies

A one-coordinate gaseous detector of soft X-ray photons for wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) studies is being developed. The detector operates in counting mode and is based on multi-stage Gas Electron Multiplier(GEM). Full size detector is assembled and has 67 degrees aperture with 350mm distance to the source, readout multi-strip structure with 2048 strips at 0.2mm pitch and is partially equipped with readout electronics in the central part. Main parameters of the detector have been measured with 8keV X-ray beam at VEPP-3 synchrotron ring. Spatial resolution of 470 um (FWHM) has been demonstrated that will allow to distinguish diffraction spots at 0.1 degrees.

A conception of the photon collider beam dump

Photon beams at photon colliders are very narrow, powerful and can not be deflected. For the beam dump at the TESLA-like collider we suggest to use a long gas (Ar) spoiler in front of the water absorber, this solves the overheating and mechanical stress problems. The neutron background at the interaction point is estimated.
