Analytic properties of high energy production amplitudes in N=4 SUSY

We investigate analytic properties of the six point planar amplitude in N=4 SUSY at the multi-Regge kinematics for final state particles. For inelastic processes the Steinmann relations play an important role because they give a possibility to fix the phase structure of the Regge pole and Mandelstam cut contributions. These contributions have the Moebius invariant form in the transverse momentum subspace. The analyticity and factorization constraints allow us to reproduce the two-loop correction to the 6-point BDS amplitude in N=4 SUSY obtained earlier in the leading logarithmic approximation with the use of the s-channel unitarity. The exponentiation hypothesis for the remainder function in the multi-Regge kinematics is also investigated. The 6-point amplitude in LLA can be completely reproduced from the BDS ansatz with the use of the analyticity and Regge factorization.

BFKL approach and six-particle MHV amplitude in N=4 super Yang-Mills

We consider the planar MHV amplitude in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory for 2 -> 4 particle scattering at two and three loops in the Regge kinematics. We perform an analytic continuation of two-loop result for the remainder function found by Goncharov, Spradlin, Vergu and Volovich to the physical region, where the remainder function does not vanish in the Regge limit. After the continuation both the leading and the subleading in the logarithm of the energy terms are extracted and analyzed. Using this result we calculate the next-to-leading corrections to the impact factors required in the BFKL approach. The BFKL technique was used to find the leading imaginary and real parts of the remainder function at three loops.

Mandelstam cuts and light-like Wilson loops in N=4 SUSY

We perform an analytic continuation of the two-loop remainder function for the six-point planar MHV amplitude in N=4 SUSY, found by Goncharov, Spradlin, Vergu and Volovich from the light-like Wilson loop representation. The remainder function is continued into a physical region, where all but two energy invariants are negative. It turns out to be pure imaginary in the multi-Regge kinematics, which is in an agreement with the predictions based on the Steinmann relations for the Regge poles and Mandelstam cut contributions. The leading term reproduces correctly the expression calculated by one of the authors in the BFKL approach, while the subleading term presents a result, that was not yet found with the use of the unitarity techniques. This supports the applicability of the Wilson loop approach to the planar MHV amplitudes in N=4 SUSY.

N=4 supersymmetric Yang Mills scattering amplitudes at high energies: the Regge cut contribution

We further investigate, in the planar limit of N=4 supersymmetric Yang Mills theories, the high energy Regge behavior of six-point MHV scattering amplitudes. In particular, for the new Regge cut contribution found in our previous paper, we compute in the leading logarithmic approximation (LLA) the energy spectrum of the BFKL equation in the color octet channel, and we calculate explicitly the two loop corrections to the discontinuities of the amplitudes for the transitions 2 to 4 and 3 to 3. We find an explicit solution of the BFKL equation for the octet channel for arbitrary momentum transfers and investigate the intercepts of the Regge singularities in this channel. As an important result we find that the universal collinear and infrared singularities of the BDS formula are not affected by this Regge-cut contribution. Any improvement of the BDS formula should reproduce this cut to all orders in the coupling.

Integrability of scattering amplitudes in N=4 SUSY

We argue, that the multi-particle scattering amplitudes in N=4 SUSY at large $N_c$ and in the multi-Regge kinematics for some physical regions have the high energy behavior appearing from the contribution of the Mandelstam cuts in the corresponding $t$-channel partial waves. The Mandelstam cuts correspond to gluon composite states in the adjoint representation of the gauge group $SU(N_c)$. The hamiltonian for these states in the leading logarithmic approximation coincides with the local hamiltonian of an integrable open spin chain. We construct the corresponding wave functions using the integrals of motion and the Baxter-Sklyanin approach.

BFKL Pomeron, Reggeized gluons and Bern-Dixon-Smirnov amplitudes

After a brief review of the BFKL approach to Regge processes in QCD and in supersymmetric (SUSY) gauge theories we propose a strategy for calculating the next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to the BFKL kernel. They can be obtained in terms of various cross-sections for Reggeized gluon interactions. The corresponding amplitudes can be calculated in the framework of the effective action for high energy scattering. In the case of N=4 SUSY it is also possible to use the Bern-Dixon-Smirnov (BDS) ansatz. For this purpose the analytic properties of the BDS amplitudes at high energies are investigated, in order to verify their self-consistency. It is found that, for the number of external particles being larger than five, these amplitudes, beyond one loop, are not in agreement with the BFKL approach which predicts the existence of Regge cuts in some physical channels.

BFKL Pomeron and Bern-Dixon-Smirnov amplitudes in N=4 SUSY

We review the theoretical approaches for investigations of the high energy hadron-hadron scattering in the Regge kinematics. It is demonstrated, that the gluon in QCD is reggeized and the Pomeron is a composite state of the reggeized gluons. Remarkable properties of the BFKL equation for the Pomeron wave function in QCD and supersymmetric gauge theories are outlined. Due to the AdS/CFT correspondence the BFKL Pomeron is equivalent to the reggeized graviton in the extended N=4 SUSY. The properties of the maximal transcendentality and integrability are realized in this model. The BDS multi-gluon scattering amplitudes are investigated in the Regge limit. They do not contain the Mandelstam cuts and are not valid beyond one loop. It is shown, that the hamiltonian for these composite states coincides with the hamiltonian of an integrable open Heisenberg spin chain.

On the ternary complex analysis and its applications

Previouly a possible extension of the complex number, together with its connected trigonometry was introduced. In this paper we focuss on the simplest case of ternary complex numbers. Then, some types of holomorphicity adapted to the ternary complex numbers and the corresponding results upon integration of differential forms are given. Several physical applications are given, and in particuler one type of holomorphic function gives rise to a new form of stationary magnetic field. The movement of a monopole type object in this field is then studied and shown to be integrable. The monopole scattering in the ternary field is finally studied.

Dressing and Wrapping

We prove that the validity of the recently proposed dressed, asymptotic Bethe ansatz for the planar AdS/CFT system is indeed limited at weak coupling by operator wrapping effects. This is done by comparing the Bethe ansatz predictions for the four-loop anomalous dimension of finite-spin twist-two operators to BFKL constraints from high-energy scattering amplitudes in N=4 gauge theory. We find disagreement, which means that the ansatz breaks down for length-two operators at four-loop order. Our method supplies precision tools for multiple all-loop tests of the veracity of any yet-to-be constructed set of exact spectral equations. Finally we present a conjecture for the exact four-loop anomalous dimension of the family of twist-two operators, which includes the Konishi field.

On the highest transcendentality in N=4 SUSY

We investigate the Eden-Staudacher equation for the anomalous dimension of the twist-2 operators at the large spin s in the N=4 super-symmetric gauge theory. This equation is reduced to a set of linear algebraic equations with the kernel calculated analytically. We prove that in perturbation theory the anomalous dimension is a sum of products of the Euler functions zeta(k) having the property of the maximal transcendentality with the coefficients being integer numbers. The radius of convergency of the perturbation theory is found. It is shown, that at g=infty the kernel has an essential singularity. The analytic properties of the solution of the Eden-Staudacher equation are investigated. In particular for the case of the strong coupling constant the solution has an essential singularity on the second sheet of the variable j appearing in its Laplace transformation. Similar results are derived also for the Beisert-Eden-Staudacher equation which includes the contribution from the phase related to the crossing symmetry of the underlying S-matrix. We show, that its singular solution at large coupling constants reproduces the anomalous dimension predicted from the string side of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

BFKL Pomeron in string models

We consider scattering amplitudes in string models in the Regge limit of high energies and fixed momentum transfers with the use of the unitarity in direct channels. Intermediate states are taken in the multi-Regge kinematics corresponding to the production of resonances with fixed invariant masses and large relative rapidities. In QCD such kinematics leads to the BFKL equation for the Pomeron wave function in the leading logarithmic approximation. We derive a similar equation in the string theory and discuss its properties. The purpose of this investigation is to find a generalization of the BFKL approach to the region of small momentum transfers where non-perturbative corrections to the gluon Regge trajectory and reggeon couplings are essential. The BFKL equation in the string theory contains additional contributions coming from a linear part of the Regge trajectory and from the soft Pomeron singularity appearing already in the tree approximation. In higher dimensions in addition, a non-multi-Regge kinematics corresponding to production of particles with large masses is important. We solve the equation for the Pomeron wave function in the string theory for D=4 and discuss integrability properties of analogous equations for composite states of several reggeised gluons in the multi-colour limit.

Reflexive Numbers and Berger Graphs from Calabi-Yau Spaces

We review the Batyrev approach to Calabi-Yau spaces based on reflexive weight vectors. The Universal CY algebra gives a possibility to construct the corresponding reflexive numbers in a recursive way. A physical interpretation of the Batyrev expression for the Calabi-Yau manifolds is presented. Important classes of these manifolds are related to the simple-laced and quasi-simple-laced numbers. We discuss the classification and recurrence relations for them in the framework of quantum field theory methods. A relation between the reflexive numbers and the so-called Berger graphs is studied. In this correspondence the role played by the generalized Coxeter labels is highlighted. Sets of positive roots are investigated in order to connect them to possible new algebraic structures stemming from the Berger matrices.

QCD Pomerons at Non-Zero Temperature

We consider the QCD scattering amplitudes at high energies sqrt{s} and fixed momentum transfers sqrt{-t} in the leading logarithmic approximation at a non-zero temperature T in the t-channel. It is shown that the BFKL Hamiltonian has the property of holomorphic separability. The holomorphic Hamiltonian for n-reggeized gluons at temperature T is shown to be obtained from the T=0 Hamiltonian by an unitary transformation. The connection with field quantization in accelerated frames and black hole backgrounds is discussed. The effect of the running of alpha_{QCD} on the pomeron eigenvalues is investigated.

Three-loop universal anomalous dimension of the Wilson operators in N=4 SUSY Yang-Mills model

We present results for the three-loop universal anomalous dimension of Wilson twist-2 operators in the N=4 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills model. These results are obtained by extracting the most complicated contributions from the three loop non-singlet anomalous dimensions in QCD which were calculated recently. Their singularities at j=1 agree with the predictions obtained from the BFKL equation for N=4 SYM in the next-to-leading order. The asymptotics of universal anomalous dimension at large j is in an agreement with the expectations based on an interpolation between weak and strong coupling regimes in the framework of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Deformed Spectral Representation of the BFKL Kernel and the Bootstrap for Gluon Reggeization

We investigate the space of functions in which the BFKL kernel acts. For the amplitudes which describe the scattering of colorless projectiles it is convenient to define, in transverse coordinates, the Moebius space in which the solutions to the BFKL equation vanish as the coordinates of the two reggeized gluons coincide. However, in order to fulfill the bootstrap relation for the BFKL kernel it is necessary to modify the space of functions. We define and investigate a new space of functions and show explicitly that the bootstrap relation is valid for the corresponding spectral form of the kernel. We calculate the generators of the resulting deformed representation of the sl(2,C) algebra.

Feynman rules for effective Regge action

Starting from the gauge invariant effective action in the quasi-multi-Regge kinematics (QMRK), we obtain the effective reggeized gluon (R) -- particle (P) vertices of the following types: $RPP$, $RRP$, $RRPP$, $RPPP$, $RRPPP$, and $RPPPP$, where the on-mass-shell particles are gluons, or sets of gluons with small invariant masses. The explicit expressions satisfying the Bose-symmetry and gauge invariance conditions are obtained. As a comment to the Feynman rules for derivation of the amplitudes in terms of effective vertices we present a ``vocabulary'' for practitioners.
