Entropic Diagram Characterization of Quantum Coherence: Degenerate Distillation and the Maximum Eigenvalue Uncertainty Bound

We develop a rigorous framework for quantifying quantum coherence in finite-dimensional systems by applying the Schur-Horn majorization theorem to relate eigenvalue distributions and diagonal entries of density matrices. Building on this foundation, we introduce a versatile suite of coherence measures, including the relative cross-entropy of coherence and its partial variants, that satisfy all resource theoretic axioms under incoherent operations. This unifying approach clarifies the geometric boundaries of physically realizable states in von Neumann-Tsallis entropy space and uncovers the phenomenon of degenerate coherence distillation where symmetry in the eigenvalue spectrum enables enhanced coherence extraction in higher-dimensional systems. In addition, we strengthen the entropy-based uncertainty relation by refining the Maassen-Uffink bound to account for the largest eigenvalues across distinct measurement bases. This refinement forges a deeper connection between entropy and uncertainty, which yields operationally meaningful constraints for quantum information tasks. Altogether, our findings illustrate the power of majorization in resource-theoretic analyses of quantum coherence, which offer valuable tools for both fundamental research and real-world applications in quantum information processing.

Quantumness and entropic uncertainty for a pair of static Unruh-DeWitt detectors

In this study, we investigate a pair of detectors operating in Minkowski space-time and analyze the characteristics of various quantum resources within this framework. Specifically, we focus on examining the properties of Bell nonlocality, quantum coherence, the nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC), and measured uncertainty in relation to the energy ratio and the distance between the detectors. Additionally, we examine how the initial states influence these quantum properties. Notably, our findings reveal that both a larger energy ratio and a greater separation between the detectors degrade the system's quantumness. Moreover, we explore the evolution of entropic uncertainty and demonstrate its inverse correlation with both Bell nonlocality and coherence, highlighting the intricate interplay between these quantum resources. These insights provide a deeper understanding of quantumness in a relativistic framework and may contribute to the ongoing discussion on the black hole information paradox.

Quantum computation via Floquet-tailored Rydberg interactions

Rydberg atoms stand out as a highly promising platform for realizing quantum computation with significant advantages in constructing high-fidelity quantum gates. Floquet frequency modulation (FFM), in Rydberg-atom systems, provides a unique platform for achieving precise quantum control and uncovering exotic physical phenomena, paving the way for innovative methodologies in quantum dynamics research. This work introduces a method to realize controlled arbitrary phase gates in Rydberg atoms by manipulating system dynamics using FFM. Notably, this method eliminates the need for laser addressing of individual atoms, significantly enhancing convenience for future practical applications. Furthermore, this approach can be integrated with soft quantum control strategies to enhance the fidelity and robustness of the resultant controlled-phase gates. Finally, as an example, this methodology is applied in Grover-Long algorithm to search target items with zero failure rate, demonstrating its substantial significance for future quantum information processing applications. This work leveraging Rydberg atoms and Floquet frequency modulation may herald a new era of scalable and reliable quantum computing.

Quantifying Quantumness in (A)dS spacetimes with Unruh-DeWitt Detector

Probing quantumness in curved spacetime is regarded as one of fundamental and important topics in the framework of relativistic quantum information. In this work, we focus on the theoretical feasibility of probing quantum properties in de Sitter (dS) and Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetimes via detectors. By employing the Unruh-DeWitt detector coupled with a massless scalar field, which is treated as an open system, quantum uncertainty and quantum coherence in both dS and AdS spacetimes are investigated. Our analysis reveals that the acceleration in dS spacetime and the boundary conditions in AdS spacetime significantly impact the detector's evolution in the initial stage. Notably, both of the uncertainty and coherence will oscillate with the initial state being in a superposition state, however the high temperature is able to suppress their oscillation. Interestingly, it is found that the constant values of the final uncertainty and coherence are identical as those in dS and AdS spacetimes, which are determined by the ratio of energy gap to temperature. Hence, the current exploration offers insight into quantumness in dS and AdS spacetimes, and might be helpful to facilitate the curved-spacetime-based quantum information processing.

Entropic uncertainty and quantum non-classicality of Unruh-Dewitt detectors in relativity

An object moving with the acceleration will change the temperature of environment around it, because of the presence of the Unruh thermal effect. In this work, we investigate the impact of Unruh thermal noise on the quantum-memory-assisted {entropic} uncertainty and quantum correlation regarding a pair of Unruh-Dewitt detectors. Specifically, we examine how the acceleration, the coupling strength between the external field and the detector, and the initial state affect the uncertainty and the system's quantum discord. It turns out that the Unruh effect will result in the loss of the systemic quantumness and inflation of the uncertainty. Moreover, it is revealed that the uncertainty is reversely correlated with the system's quantum discord. Thereby, it is believed that our investigations provide new insights into understanding the behavior of objects in the relativistic background.

Quantifying genuine tripartite entanglement by reshaping the state

Although genuine multipartite entanglement (GME), as one quantum resource, is indispensable in quantum information processing, most of the existing measures cannot detect GME faithfully. In this paper, we present a novel GME measure, namely the minimum pairwise concurrence (MPC), by introducing pairwise entanglement, which characters the entanglement between two single-qubit subsystems of a multipartite system without tracing out the remaining qubit. The pairwise entanglement can be obtained by combining the entanglement of reduced subsystem and three-tangle. Compared with the existing measures, the MPC measure outperforms the previous ones in many aspects. Due to its fine properties, it thus is believed that the MPC could be one of good candidates in achieving potential quantum tasks and also facilitate the understanding for GME.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering Criterion and Monogamy Relation via Correlation Matrices in Tripartite Systems

Quantum steering is considered as one of the most well-known nonlocal phenomena in quantum mechanics. Unlike entanglement and Bell non-locality, the asymmetry of quantum steering makes it vital for one-sided device-independent quantum information processing. Although there has been much progress on steering detection for bipartite systems, the criterion for EPR steering in tripartite systems remains challenging and inadequate. In this paper, we firstly derive a novel and promising steering criterion for any three-qubit states via correlation matrix. Furthermore, we propose the monogamy relation between the tripartite steering of system and the bipartite steering of subsystems based on the derived criterion. Finally, as illustrations, we demonstrate the performance of the steering criterion and the monogamy relation by means of several representative examples. We believe that the results and methods presented in this work could be beneficial to capture genuine multipartite steering in the near future.

Experimental test of generalized multipartite entropic uncertainty relations

Entropic uncertainty relation (EUR) formulates the restriction of the inherent uncertainty of quantum mechanics from the information-theoretic perspective. A tighter lower bound for uncertainty relations can provide information-theoretic security to quantum communication protocols. Recently, a generalized EUR (GEUR) for the measurement of multiple observables in arbitrary many-body systems has been formulated. Here, we experimentally test this GEUR using a four-photon entangled state with a controllable decoherence channel and show that for the tripartite scenario, the GEUR improves the entropic bound from Renes--Boileau's famous results. As an application, we further demonstrate an improvement of the secure key rate in quantum key distribution from the GEUR. Our results extend the test of EURs into multipartite regimes and may find applications in practical quantum cryptography tasks.

Evaluating extractable work of quantum batteries via entropic uncertainty relations

In this study, we investigate the effectiveness of entropic uncertainty relations (EURs) in discerning the energy variation in quantum batteries (QBs) modelled by battery-charger-field in the presence of bosonic and fermionic reservoirs. Our results suggest that the extractable works (exergy and ergotropy) have versatile characteristics in different scenarios, resulting in a complex relationship between tightness and extractable work. It is worth noting that the tightness of the lower bound of entropic uncertainty can be a good indicator for energy conversion efficiency in charging QBs. Furthermore, we disclose how the EUR including uncertainty and lower bound contributes to energy conversion efficiency in the QB system. It is believed that these findings will be beneficial for better understanding the role of quantum uncertainty in evaluating quantum battery performance.

Nonreciprocal Photon-Phonon Entanglement in Kerr-Modified Spinning Cavity Magnomechanics

Cavity magnomechanics has shown great potential in studying macroscopic quantum effects, especially for quantum entanglement, which is a key resource for quantum information science. Here we propose to realize magnon mediated nonreciprocal photon-phonon entanglement, which exhibits asymmetry when opposite magnetic or driving fields are respectively applied to the magnons with the Kerr effect or the photons with the Sagnac effect. We find that the mean magnon number can selectively exhibit nonreciprocal linear or nonlinear (bistable) behavior with the strength of the strong driving field on the cavity. Assisted by this driving field, the magnon-phonon coupling is greatly enhanced, leading to the nonreciprocal photon-phonon entanglement via the swapping interaction between the magnons and photons. This nonreciprocal entanglement can be significantly enhanced with the magnon Kerr and Sagnac effects. Given the available parameters, the nonreciprocal photon-phonon entanglement can be preserved at $\sim3$ K, showing remarkable resilience against the bath temperature. The result reveals that our paper holds promise in developing various nonreciprocal devices with both the magnon Kerr and Sagnac effects in cavity magnomechanics.

Quantum coherence and entanglement under the influence of decoherence

In this work, we delve into the dynamic traits of the relative entropy of quantum coherence (REQC) as the quantum system interacts with the different noisy channels, drawing comparisons with entanglement (concurrence). The research results demonstrate the broader prevalence and stronger robustness of the REQC as opposed to concurrence. It's worth noting that the bit flip channel cannot uphold a constant nonzero frozen the REQC, besides, the concurrence follows a pattern of temporary reduction to zero, followed by recovery after a certain time span. More importantly, the REQC maintains its presence consistently until reaching a critical threshold, whereas concurrence experiences completely attenuation to zero under the influence of phase damping and amplitude damping channels.

Nonreciprocal entanglement in cavity-magnon optomechanics

Cavity optomechanics, a promising platform to investigate macroscopic quantum effects, has been widely used to study nonreciprocal entanglement with Sagnec effect. Here we propose an alternative way to realize nonreciprocal entanglemment among magnons, photons, and phonons in a hybrid cavity-magnon optomechanics, where magnon Kerr effect is used. We show that the Kerr effect gives rise to a magnon frequency shift and an additional two-magnon effect. Both of them can be tuned from positive to negative via tuning the magectic field direction, leading to nonreciprocity. By tuning system parameters such as magnon frequency detuning or the coefficient of the two-magnon effect, bipartite and tripartite entanglements can be nonreciprocally enhanced. By further studying the defined bidirectional contrast ratio, we find that nonreciprocity in our system can be switch on and off, and can be engineered by the bath temperature. Our proposal not only provides a potential path to demonstrate nonreciprocal entanglement with the magnon Kerr effect, but also opens a direction to engineer and design diverse nonreciprocal devices in hybrid cavity-magnon optomechanics with nonlinear effects.

Complementary relations of entanglement, coherence, steering and Bell nonlocality inequality violation in three-qubit states

We put forward complementary relations of entanglement, coherence, steering inequality violation, and Bell nonlocality for arbitrary three-qubit states. We show that two families of genuinely entangled three-qubit pure states with single parameter exist, and they exhibit maximum coherence and steering inequality violation for a fixed amount of negativity, respectively. It is found that the negativity is exactly equal to the geometric mean of bipartite concurrences for the three-qubit pure states, although the negativity is always less than or equal to the latter for three-qubit mixed states. Moreover, the complementary relation between negativity and first-order coherence for tripartite entanglement states are established. Furthermore, we investigate the close relation between the negativity and the maximum steering inequality violation. In addition, the complementary relation between negativity and the maximum Bell-inequality violation for arbitrary three-qubit states is obtained. The results provide reliable evidence of fundamental connections among entanglement, coherence, steering inequality violation, and Bell nonlocality.

Efficient and robust chiral discrimination by invariant-based inverse engineering

We propose an accurate and convenient method to achieve 100\% discrimination of chiral molecules with Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant. By reversely designing the pulse scheme of handed resolution, we obtain the parameters of the three-level Hamiltonians to achieve this goal. For the same initial state, we can completely transfer its population to one energy level for left-handed molecules, while transfer it to another energy level for right-handed molecules. Moreover, this method can be further optimized when errors exist, and it shows that the optimal method are more robust against these errors than the counterdiabatic and original invariant-based shortcut schemes. This provides an effective, accurate, and robust method to distinguish the handedness of molecules.

Environment-mediated entropic uncertainty in charging quantum batteries

We studied the dynamics of entropic uncertainty in Markovian and non-Markovian systems during the charging of open quantum batteries (QBs) mediated by a common dissipation environment. In the non-Markovian regime, the battery is almost fully charged efficiently, and the strong non-Markovian property is beneficial for improving the charging power. In addition, the results show that the energy storage is closely related to the couplings of the charger-reservoir and battery-reservoir; that is, the stronger coupling of a charger-reservoir improves energy storage. In particular, entanglement is required to obtain the most stored energy and is accompanied by the least tight entropic bound. Interestingly, it was found that the tightness of the entropic bound can be considered a good indicator of the energy transfer in different charging processes, and the complete energy transfer always corresponds to the tightest entropic bound. Our results provide insight into the optimal charging efficiency of QBs during practical charging.

Coherent control techniques in three-level quantum sensing

Quantum coherent control of a quantum system with high-fidelity is rather important in quantum computation and quantum information processing. There are many control techniques to reach these targets, such as resonant excitation, adiabatic passages, shortcuts to adiabaticity, and so on. However, for a single pulse to realize population transfer, the external tiny error has a trivial influence on the final population. The repeated application of the same pulse will greatly amplify the error effect, making it easy to be detected. Here, we propose to measure small control errors in three-level quantum systems by coherent amplification of their effects, using several coherent control techniques. For the two types of Hamiltonian with SU(2) dynamic symmetry, we analyze how the fidelity of population transfer are affected by Rabi frequencies fluctuation and static detuning deviation, based on the pulse sequence with alternating and same phases, respectively. It is found that the sensitivity of detecting these errors can be effectively amplified by the control pulse sequences. Furthermore, we discuss the efficiency of sensing the two errors with these control techniques by comparing the full width at half maximum of the population profiles. The results provide an accurate and reliable way for sensing the weak error in three-level quantum systems by applying repeatedly the coherent control pulse.

Geuine tripartite entanglement in three-flavor neutrino oscillations

The violation of Leggett-Garg inequalities tested the quantumness of neutrino oscillations (NOs) across macroscopic distances. The quantumness can be quantified by using the tools of the quantum resource theories. Recently, a new genuine tripartite entanglement measure [S. B. Xie et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 127, 040403 (2021)], concurrence fill, is defined as the square root of the area of the concurrence triangle satisfying all genuine multipartite entanglement conditions. It has several advantages compared to other existing tripartite measures. Here, we focus on using concurrence fill to quantify the tripartite entanglement in three-flavor NOs. Concurrence fill can reach its maximum $0.89$ for the experimentally-observed electron antineutrino oscillations, but it cannot for the muon antineutrino oscillations. In both cases, we compare its performance with other three tripartite entanglement measures, including the generalized geometric measure (GGM), the three-$π$ entanglement, and the genuinely multipartite concurrence (GMC), in the neutrino propagation, and accordingly show that concurrence fill contains the most quantum resource. Furthermore, concurrence fill and the three-$π$ entanglement are always smooth, while GGM and GMC measures have several sharp peaks. The genuine tripartite quantification of the quantumness of three-flavor NOs represents the first step towards the further potential application of neutrinos on quantum information processing.

Unification of quantum resources in tripartite systems

In quantum resource theories (QRTs), there exists evidences of intrinsic connections among different measures of quantum resources, including entanglement, coherence, quantum steering, and so on. However, building the relations among different quantum resources is a vital yet challenging task in multipartite quantum systems. Here, we focus on a unified framework of interpreting the interconversions among different quantum resources in tripartite systems. In particular, an exact relation between the generalized geometric measure and the genuinely multipartite concurrence are derived for tripartite entanglement states. Then we obtain the tradeoff relation between the first-order coherence and the genuine tripartite entanglement by the genuinely multipartite concurrence and concurrence fill. Furthermore, the tradeoff relation between the maximum steering inequality violation and concurrence fill for an arbitrary three-qubit pure state is found. In addition, we investigate the close relation between the maximum steering inequality violation and the first-order coherence. The results show that these quantum resources are intrinsic related and can be converted to each other in the framework of QRTs, although they are still regarded to be different.
