The origin of noncommutativity?

Consistent boundary Poisson structures for open string theory coupled to background $B$-field are considered using the new approach proposed in hep-th/0111005. It is found that there are infinitely many consistent Poisson structures, each leads to a consistent canonical quantization of open string in the presence of background $B$-field. Consequently, whether the $D$-branes to which the open string end points are attached is noncommutative or not depends on the choice of a particular Poisson structure.

Boundary Poisson structure and quantization

A new approach for treating boundary Poisson structures based on causality and locality analysis is proposed for a single scalar field with boundary interaction. For the case of linear boundary condition, it is shown that the usual canonical quantization can be applied systematically.

Infinite Hopf Families of Algebras and Yang-Baxter Relations

A Yang-Baxter relation-based formalism for generalized quantum affine algebras with the structure of an infinite Hopf family of (super-) algebras is proposed. The structure of the infinite Hopf family is given explicitly on the level of $L$ matrices. The relation with the Drinfeld current realization is established in the case of $4\times4$ $R$-matrices by studying the analogue of the Ding-Frenkel theorem. By use of the concept of algebra ``comorphisms'' (which generalize the notion of algebra comodules for standard Hopf algebras), a possible way of constructing infinitely many commuting operators out of the generalized $RLL$ algebras is given. Finally some examples of the generalized $RLL$ algebras are briefly discussed.

On two-parameter deformations of $osp(1|2)^(1)$

An elliptic two-parameter deformation of the (universal enveloping superalgebra of) affine Lie superalgebra $osp(1|2)^{(1)}$ is proposed in terms of free boson realization. This deformed superalgebra is shown to fit in the framework of infinite Hopf family of superalgebras, a generalization of the infinite Hopf family of algebras proposed earlier by the authors. The trigonometric and rational degenerations are briefly discussed.

Quantum currents in the Coset Space SU(2)/U(1)

We propose a rational quantum deformed nonlocal currents in the homogenous space $SU(2)_k/U(1)$, and in terms of it and a free boson field a representation for the Drinfeld currents of Yangian double at a general level $k=c$ is obtained. In the classical limit $\hbar \to 0$, the quantum nonlocal currents become $SU(2)_k$ parafermion, and the realization of Yangian double becomes the parafermion realization of $SU(2)_k$ current algebra.

Generalized quantum current algebras

Two general families of new quantum deformed current algebras are proposed and identified both as infinite Hopf family of algebras, a structure which enable one to define ``tensor products'' of these algebras. The standard quantum affine algebras turn out to be a very special case of both algebra families, in which case the infinite Hopf family structure degenerates into standard Hopf algebras. The relationship between the two algebra families as well as their various special examples are discussed, and the free boson representation is also considered.

Infinite Hopf family of elliptic algebras and bosonization

Elliptic current algebras E_{q,p}(\hat{g}) for arbitrary simply laced finite dimensional Lie algebra g are defined and their co-algebraic structures are studied. It is shown that under the Drinfeld like comultiplications, the algebra E_{q,p}(\hat{g}) is not co-closed for any g. However putting the algebras E_{q,p}(\hat{g}) with different deformation parameters together, we can establish a structure of infinite Hopf family of algebras. The level 1 bosonic realization for the algebra E_{q,p}(\hat{g}) is also established.

The algebra A_{\hbar,η}(\hat{g}) and Infinite Hopf family of algebras

New deformed affine algebras A_{\hbar,η}(\hat{g}) are defined for any simply-laced classical Lie algebra g, which are generalizations of the algebra A_{\hbar,η}(\hat{sl_2}) recently proposed by Khoroshkin, Lebedev and Pakuliak (KLP). Unlike the work of KLP, we associate to the new algebras the structure of an infinite Hopf family of algebras in contrast to the one containing only finite number of algebras introduced by KLP. Bosonic representation for A_{\hbar,η}(\hat{g}) at level 1 is obtained, and it is shown that, by repeated application of Drinfeld-like comultiplications, a realization of A_{\hbar,η}(\hat{g}) at any positive integer level can be obtained. For the special case of g=sl_{r+1}, (r+1)-dimensional evaluation representation is given. The corresponding intertwining operators are defined and the intertwining relations are also derived explicitly.

Note on the Algebra of Screening Currents for the Quantum Deformed W-Algebra

With slight modifications in the zero modes contributions, the positive and negative screening currents for the quantum deformed W-algebra W_{q,p}(g) can be put together to form a single algebra which can be regarded as an elliptic deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of \hat{g}, where g is any classical simply-laced Lie algebra.

Nonelectromagnetic duality in twisted N=4 model

In this paper we discuss the possible existing correlation functions in the N=4 topological model. Due to the distinguished feature that no anomaly exists in N=4 supersymmetric theories, the positive-negative ghost number balance has to be taken into account while considering the correlation functions. On restriction to Kahler manifolds we may find a perturbative mass term which breaks the N=4 supersymmetry down to N=1. In all of these, a nonelectromagnetic duality plays an important role. Moreover, to get a computable generating functional the existence of a proper vanishing theorem is required.

Bosonic Super Liouville System: Lax Pair and Solution

We study the bosonic super Liouville system which is a statistical transmutation of super Liouville system. Lax pair for the bosonic super Liouville system is constructed using prolongation method, ensuring the Lax integrability, and the solution to the equations of motion is also considered via Leznov-Saveliev analysis.

Fock Spaces with Reflection Condition and Generalized Statistics

An oscillator algebra and the associated Fock space with reflecting boundary and generalized statistics are constructed and is generalized to the multicomponent case. The oscillator algebra depends manifestly on the reflection factor and the statistical (exchange) factor, and the corresponding Fock space can be obtained from that of the usual bosonic oscillator without reflection condition by certain projection operation.
