Beyond Global Latents: Chunk-Based Sparse Grid VAE for Scalable 3D Modeling

Sparse voxel grids preserve the spatial structure needed for detailed 3D reconstruction, but their memory still grows rapidly with resolution as active surface cells increase. We introduce ChunkVAE, a sparse grid variational autoencoder organized around local chunks rather than a global latent volume. Local learned operators permit independently chosen encoder and decoder partitions and allow inference chunk sizes to differ from training. Two complementary data operators make this flexibility practical: Balanced Binary Object Partitioning distributes active cells while limiting replicated overlap, while S-Curve weighted stitching attenuates unreliable boundary features when assembling a global latent or reconstruction. Across three object benchmarks, ChunkVAE is competitive with or better than strong baselines from $512^3$ to $1536^3$; smaller chunks lower peak allocated memory and shorten per-chunk compute, enabling faster parallel inference. Stable stitched latents and improved image to 3D metrics indicate that local compression can scale geometry while retaining the global interface required downstream.

MSVS-VAE: Multi-Scale Anchored VecSet for High-Fidelity 3D Reconstruction

High-fidelity 3D generative modeling increasingly relies on the latent diffusion paradigm, where the reconstruction quality of the underlying 3D VAE becomes a primary bottleneck. Existing approaches largely follow two paradigms: sparse voxel-based representations achieve strong reconstruction quality but incur significant memory and computational overhead, while set-based representations are compact and continuous yet typically lag in fidelity due to latent sparsity and excessive global smoothness. We propose MSVS-VAE, a hierarchical set-based VAE that closes this fidelity gap without sacrificing compactness. Our key idea is to progressively densify anchored VecSet latents via hierarchical point-shuffle upsampling, increasing spatial capacity for fine-grained geometry modeling. To efficiently decode from the densified hierarchy, we replace global cross-attention with AVS-Conv, a geometry-aware local aggregation operator operating within local neighborhoods rather than the exhaustive latent set. We further introduce multi-scale query decoding to fuse coarse-to-fine latent features, where coarse scales provide stable global context, and fine scales refine localized geometry, reducing artifacts from overly local receptive fields. Extensive experiments on Objaverse, ABO, and in-the-wild benchmarks demonstrate that MSVS-VAE consistently outperforms prior set-based and voxel-based VAEs, delivering approximately 10x faster decoding than prior set-based methods and approximately 10x higher compactness than voxel-based baselines.

CanoVerse: 3D Object Scalable Canonicalization and Dataset for Generation and Pose

3D learning systems implicitly assume that objects occupy a coherent reference frame. Nonetheless, in practice, every asset arrives with an arbitrary global rotation, and models are left to resolve directional ambiguity on their own. This persistent misalignment suppresses pose-consistent generation, and blocks the emergence of stable directional semantics. To address this issue, we construct \methodName{}, a massive canonical 3D dataset of 320K objects over 1,156 categories -- an order-of-magnitude increase over prior work. At this scale, directional semantics become statistically learnable: Canoverse improves 3D generation stability, enables precise cross-modal 3D shape retrieval, and unlocks zero-shot point-cloud orientation estimation even for out-of-distribution data. This is achieved by a new canonicalization framework that reduces alignment from minutes to seconds per object via compact hypothesis generation and lightweight human discrimination, transforming canonicalization from manual curation into a high-throughput data generation pipeline. The Canoverse dataset will be publicly released upon acceptance. Project page: https://github.com/123321456-gif/Canoverse

Map2Thought: Explicit 3D Spatial Reasoning via Metric Cognitive Maps

We propose Map2Thought, a framework that enables explicit and interpretable spatial reasoning for 3D VLMs. The framework is grounded in two key components: Metric Cognitive Map (Metric-CogMap) and Cognitive Chain-of-Thought (Cog-CoT). Metric-CogMap provides a unified spatial representation by integrating a discrete grid for relational reasoning with a continuous, metric-scale representation for precise geometric understanding. Building upon the Metric-CogMap, Cog-CoT performs explicit geometric reasoning through deterministic operations, including vector operations, bounding-box distances, and occlusion-aware appearance order cues, producing interpretable inference traces grounded in 3D structure. Experimental results show that Map2Thought enables explainable 3D understanding, achieving 59.9% accuracy using only half the supervision, closely matching the 60.9% baseline trained with the full dataset. It consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods by 5.3%, 4.8%, and 4.0% under 10%, 25%, and 50% training subsets, respectively, on the VSI-Bench.

UltraShape 1.0: High-Fidelity 3D Shape Generation via Scalable Geometric Refinement

In this report, we introduce UltraShape 1.0, a scalable 3D diffusion framework for high-fidelity 3D geometry generation. The proposed approach adopts a two-stage generation pipeline: a coarse global structure is first synthesized and then refined to produce detailed, high-quality geometry. To support reliable 3D generation, we develop a comprehensive data processing pipeline that includes a novel watertight processing method and high-quality data filtering. This pipeline improves the geometric quality of publicly available 3D datasets by removing low-quality samples, filling holes, and thickening thin structures, while preserving fine-grained geometric details. To enable fine-grained geometry refinement, we decouple spatial localization from geometric detail synthesis in the diffusion process. We achieve this by performing voxel-based refinement at fixed spatial locations, where voxel queries derived from coarse geometry provide explicit positional anchors encoded via RoPE, allowing the diffusion model to focus on synthesizing local geometric details within a reduced, structured solution space. Our model is trained exclusively on publicly available 3D datasets, achieving strong geometric quality despite limited training resources. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that UltraShape 1.0 performs competitively with existing open-source methods in both data processing quality and geometry generation. All code and trained models will be released to support future research.

Complex-Valued 2D Gaussian Representation for Computer-Generated Holography

Complex-valued Gaussian primitives have recently been explored for representing holographic radiance fields in 3D novel view synthesis. In this work, we extend this line of research to the hologram optimization domain and propose a structured representation based on complex-valued 2D Gaussian primitives. Inspired by Gabor's theory, we show that our primitive attains the minimum space-frequency uncertainty and reduces the parameter search space by 5:1 compared to per-pixel parameterization. To enable end-to-end training, we develop a differentiable rasterizer for our representation, integrated with a GPU-optimized light propagation kernel in free space. Extensive experiments show that our method reduces VRAM usage by up to 30% and accelerates optimization by 50% over standard autodiff-based implementations, delivers up to 13 dB higher PSNR than prior Gaussian-based methods, and achieves up to 3200x faster rendering while maintaining reconstruction quality on par with existing CGH approaches. For evaluation, we introduce a conversion procedure that adapts our representation to practical hologram formats, including smooth and random phase-only holograms. By reducing the hologram parameter search space, our representation enables a more scalable hologram estimation in the next-generation computer-generated holography systems.

Matrix3D: Large Photogrammetry Model All-in-One

We present Matrix3D, a unified model that performs several photogrammetry subtasks, including pose estimation, depth prediction, and novel view synthesis using just the same model. Matrix3D utilizes a multi-modal diffusion transformer (DiT) to integrate transformations across several modalities, such as images, camera parameters, and depth maps. The key to Matrix3D's large-scale multi-modal training lies in the incorporation of a mask learning strategy. This enables full-modality model training even with partially complete data, such as bi-modality data of image-pose and image-depth pairs, thus significantly increases the pool of available training data. Matrix3D demonstrates state-of-the-art performance in pose estimation and novel view synthesis tasks. Additionally, it offers fine-grained control through multi-round interactions, making it an innovative tool for 3D content creation. Project page: https://nju-3dv.github.io/projects/matrix3d.

DepthCrafter: Generating Consistent Long Depth Sequences for Open-world Videos

Estimating video depth in open-world scenarios is challenging due to the diversity of videos in appearance, content motion, camera movement, and length. We present DepthCrafter, an innovative method for generating temporally consistent long depth sequences with intricate details for open-world videos, without requiring any supplementary information such as camera poses or optical flow. The generalization ability to open-world videos is achieved by training the video-to-depth model from a pre-trained image-to-video diffusion model, through our meticulously designed three-stage training strategy. Our training approach enables the model to generate depth sequences with variable lengths at one time, up to 110 frames, and harvest both precise depth details and rich content diversity from realistic and synthetic datasets. We also propose an inference strategy that can process extremely long videos through segment-wise estimation and seamless stitching. Comprehensive evaluations on multiple datasets reveal that DepthCrafter achieves state-of-the-art performance in open-world video depth estimation under zero-shot settings. Furthermore, DepthCrafter facilitates various downstream applications, including depth-based visual effects and conditional video generation.

Mani-GS: Gaussian Splatting Manipulation with Triangular Mesh

Neural 3D representations such as Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), excel at producing photo-realistic rendering results but lack the flexibility for manipulation and editing which is crucial for content creation. Previous works have attempted to address this issue by deforming a NeRF in canonical space or manipulating the radiance field based on an explicit mesh. However, manipulating NeRF is not highly controllable and requires a long training and inference time. With the emergence of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), extremely high-fidelity novel view synthesis can be achieved using an explicit point-based 3D representation with much faster training and rendering speed. However, there is still a lack of effective means to manipulate 3DGS freely while maintaining rendering quality. In this work, we aim to tackle the challenge of achieving manipulable photo-realistic rendering. We propose to utilize a triangular mesh to manipulate 3DGS directly with self-adaptation. This approach reduces the need to design various algorithms for different types of Gaussian manipulation. By utilizing a triangle shape-aware Gaussian binding and adapting method, we can achieve 3DGS manipulation and preserve high-fidelity rendering after manipulation. Our approach is capable of handling large deformations, local manipulations, and soft body simulations while keeping high-quality rendering. Furthermore, we demonstrate that our method is also effective with inaccurate meshes extracted from 3DGS. Experiments conducted demonstrate the effectiveness of our method and its superiority over baseline approaches.

Affine-based Deformable Attention and Selective Fusion for Semi-dense Matching

Identifying robust and accurate correspondences across images is a fundamental problem in computer vision that enables various downstream tasks. Recent semi-dense matching methods emphasize the effectiveness of fusing relevant cross-view information through Transformer. In this paper, we propose several improvements upon this paradigm. Firstly, we introduce affine-based local attention to model cross-view deformations. Secondly, we present selective fusion to merge local and global messages from cross attention. Apart from network structure, we also identify the importance of enforcing spatial smoothness in loss design, which has been omitted by previous works. Based on these augmentations, our network demonstrate strong matching capacity under different settings. The full version of our network achieves state-of-the-art performance among semi-dense matching methods at a similar cost to LoFTR, while the slim version reaches LoFTR baseline's performance with only 15% computation cost and 18% parameters.

ConTex-Human: Free-View Rendering of Human from a Single Image with Texture-Consistent Synthesis

In this work, we propose a method to address the challenge of rendering a 3D human from a single image in a free-view manner. Some existing approaches could achieve this by using generalizable pixel-aligned implicit fields to reconstruct a textured mesh of a human or by employing a 2D diffusion model as guidance with the Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) method, to lift the 2D image into 3D space. However, a generalizable implicit field often results in an over-smooth texture field, while the SDS method tends to lead to a texture-inconsistent novel view with the input image. In this paper, we introduce a texture-consistent back view synthesis module that could transfer the reference image content to the back view through depth and text-guided attention injection. Moreover, to alleviate the color distortion that occurs in the side region, we propose a visibility-aware patch consistency regularization for texture mapping and refinement combined with the synthesized back view texture. With the above techniques, we could achieve high-fidelity and texture-consistent human rendering from a single image. Experiments conducted on both real and synthetic data demonstrate the effectiveness of our method and show that our approach outperforms previous baseline methods.

Direct2.5: Diverse Text-to-3D Generation via Multi-view 2.5D Diffusion

Recent advances in generative AI have unveiled significant potential for the creation of 3D content. However, current methods either apply a pre-trained 2D diffusion model with the time-consuming score distillation sampling (SDS), or a direct 3D diffusion model trained on limited 3D data losing generation diversity. In this work, we approach the problem by employing a multi-view 2.5D diffusion fine-tuned from a pre-trained 2D diffusion model. The multi-view 2.5D diffusion directly models the structural distribution of 3D data, while still maintaining the strong generalization ability of the original 2D diffusion model, filling the gap between 2D diffusion-based and direct 3D diffusion-based methods for 3D content generation. During inference, multi-view normal maps are generated using the 2.5D diffusion, and a novel differentiable rasterization scheme is introduced to fuse the almost consistent multi-view normal maps into a consistent 3D model. We further design a normal-conditioned multi-view image generation module for fast appearance generation given the 3D geometry. Our method is a one-pass diffusion process and does not require any SDS optimization as post-processing. We demonstrate through extensive experiments that, our direct 2.5D generation with the specially-designed fusion scheme can achieve diverse, mode-seeking-free, and high-fidelity 3D content generation in only 10 seconds. JointNet: Extending Text-to-Image Diffusion for Dense Distribution Modeling

We introduce JointNet, a novel neural network architecture for modeling the joint distribution of images and an additional dense modality (e.g., depth maps). JointNet is extended from a pre-trained text-to-image diffusion model, where a copy of the original network is created for the new dense modality branch and is densely connected with the RGB branch. The RGB branch is locked during network fine-tuning, which enables efficient learning of the new modality distribution while maintaining the strong generalization ability of the large-scale pre-trained diffusion model. We demonstrate the effectiveness of JointNet by using RGBD diffusion as an example and through extensive experiments, showcasing its applicability in a variety of applications, including joint RGBD generation, dense depth prediction, depth-conditioned image generation, and coherent tile-based 3D panorama generation.

HiFi-123: Towards High-fidelity One Image to 3D Content Generation

Recent advances in diffusion models have enabled 3D generation from a single image. However, current methods often produce suboptimal results for novel views, with blurred textures and deviations from the reference image, limiting their practical applications. In this paper, we introduce HiFi-123, a method designed for high-fidelity and multi-view consistent 3D generation. Our contributions are twofold: First, we propose a Reference-Guided Novel View Enhancement (RGNV) technique that significantly improves the fidelity of diffusion-based zero-shot novel view synthesis methods. Second, capitalizing on the RGNV, we present a novel Reference-Guided State Distillation (RGSD) loss. When incorporated into the optimization-based image-to-3D pipeline, our method significantly improves 3D generation quality, achieving state-of-the-art performance. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach over existing methods, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Video results are available on the project page.

NeILF++: Inter-Reflectable Light Fields for Geometry and Material Estimation

We present a novel differentiable rendering framework for joint geometry, material, and lighting estimation from multi-view images. In contrast to previous methods which assume a simplified environment map or co-located flashlights, in this work, we formulate the lighting of a static scene as one neural incident light field (NeILF) and one outgoing neural radiance field (NeRF). The key insight of the proposed method is the union of the incident and outgoing light fields through physically-based rendering and inter-reflections between surfaces, making it possible to disentangle the scene geometry, material, and lighting from image observations in a physically-based manner. The proposed incident light and inter-reflection framework can be easily applied to other NeRF systems. We show that our method can not only decompose the outgoing radiance into incident lights and surface materials, but also serve as a surface refinement module that further improves the reconstruction detail of the neural surface. We demonstrate on several datasets that the proposed method is able to achieve state-of-the-art results in terms of geometry reconstruction quality, material estimation accuracy, and the fidelity of novel view rendering.

ASpanFormer: Detector-Free Image Matching with Adaptive Span Transformer

Generating robust and reliable correspondences across images is a fundamental task for a diversity of applications. To capture context at both global and local granularity, we propose ASpanFormer, a Transformer-based detector-free matcher that is built on hierarchical attention structure, adopting a novel attention operation which is capable of adjusting attention span in a self-adaptive manner. To achieve this goal, first, flow maps are regressed in each cross attention phase to locate the center of search region. Next, a sampling grid is generated around the center, whose size, instead of being empirically configured as fixed, is adaptively computed from a pixel uncertainty estimated along with the flow map. Finally, attention is computed across two images within derived regions, referred to as attention span. By these means, we are able to not only maintain long-range dependencies, but also enable fine-grained attention among pixels of high relevance that compensates essential locality and piece-wise smoothness in matching tasks. State-of-the-art accuracy on a wide range of evaluation benchmarks validates the strong matching capability of our method.

Critical Regularizations for Neural Surface Reconstruction in the Wild

Neural implicit functions have recently shown promising results on surface reconstructions from multiple views. However, current methods still suffer from excessive time complexity and poor robustness when reconstructing unbounded or complex scenes. In this paper, we present RegSDF, which shows that proper point cloud supervisions and geometry regularizations are sufficient to produce high-quality and robust reconstruction results. Specifically, RegSDF takes an additional oriented point cloud as input, and optimizes a signed distance field and a surface light field within a differentiable rendering framework. We also introduce the two critical regularizations for this optimization. The first one is the Hessian regularization that smoothly diffuses the signed distance values to the entire distance field given noisy and incomplete input. And the second one is the minimal surface regularization that compactly interpolates and extrapolates the missing geometry. Extensive experiments are conducted on DTU, BlendedMVS, and Tanks and Temples datasets. Compared with recent neural surface reconstruction approaches, RegSDF is able to reconstruct surfaces with fine details even for open scenes with complex topologies and unstructured camera trajectories.

NeILF: Neural Incident Light Field for Physically-based Material Estimation

We present a differentiable rendering framework for material and lighting estimation from multi-view images and a reconstructed geometry. In the framework, we represent scene lightings as the Neural Incident Light Field (NeILF) and material properties as the surface BRDF modelled by multi-layer perceptrons. Compared with recent approaches that approximate scene lightings as the 2D environment map, NeILF is a fully 5D light field that is capable of modelling illuminations of any static scenes. In addition, occlusions and indirect lights can be handled naturally by the NeILF representation without requiring multiple bounces of ray tracing, making it possible to estimate material properties even for scenes with complex lightings and geometries. We also propose a smoothness regularization and a Lambertian assumption to reduce the material-lighting ambiguity during the optimization. Our method strictly follows the physically-based rendering equation, and jointly optimizes material and lighting through the differentiable rendering process. We have intensively evaluated the proposed method on our in-house synthetic dataset, the DTU MVS dataset, and real-world BlendedMVS scenes. Our method is able to outperform previous methods by a significant margin in terms of novel view rendering quality, setting a new state-of-the-art for image-based material and lighting estimation.
