Parabolic implosion in dimension 2

In this paper, we extend the theory of parabolic implosion in complex dimension 2 to the case of holomorphic maps tangent to the identity at order 2. We investigate the bifurcation phenomena that occur when a fully parabolic fixed point is perturbed. Under the assumption of a non-degenerate characteristic direction with a formal invariant curve and director $α$ satisfying $\reα> 2$, we establish the existence of Lavaurs maps as limits of iterates $f_{ε_n}^n$ for specific sequences of the perturbation parameter $ε_n$. Finally, we apply these results to prove the discontinuity of the Julia sets $J_1$ and $J_2$ for holomorphic endomorphisms of $\mathbb{P}^2$, generalizing classical one-dimensional results to this higher-dimensional setting.

A flower theorem in dimension two

We prove a two-dimensional analog of Leau-Fatou flower theorem for non-degenerate reduced tangent to the identity biholomorphisms.

Stable manifolds of biholomorphisms in $\mathbb{C}^n$ asymptotic to formal curves

Given a germ of biholomorphism $F\in\mathrm{Diff}(\mathbb{C}^n,0)$ with a formal invariant curve $Γ$ such that the multiplier of the restricted formal diffeomorphism $F|_Γ$ is a root of unity or satisfies $|(F|_Γ)'(0)|<1$, we prove that either $Γ$ is contained in the set of periodic points of $F$ or there exists a finite family of stable manifolds of $F$ where all the orbits are asymptotic to $Γ$ and whose union eventually contains every orbit asymptotic to $Γ$. This result generalizes to the case where $Γ$ is a formal periodic curve.

Characteristic directions of two-dimensional biholomorphisms

We prove that for each characteristic direction $[v]$ of a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism of order $k+1$ in $\mathbb{C}^2$ there exist either an analytic curve of fixed points tangent to $[v]$ or $k$ parabolic manifolds where all the orbits are tangent to $[v]$, and that at least one of these parabolic manifolds is or contains a parabolic curve.

Stable manifolds of two-dimensional biholomorphisms asymptotic to formal curves

Let $F\in\mathrm{Diff}(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ be a germ of a holomorphic diffeomorphism and let $Γ$ be an invariant formal curve of $F$. Assume that the restricted diffeomorphism $F|_Γ$ is either hyperbolic attracting or rationally neutral non-periodic (these are the conditions that the diffeomorphism $F|_Γ$ should satisfy, if $Γ$ were convergent, in order to have orbits converging to the origin). Then we prove that $F$ has finitely many stable manifolds, either open domains or parabolic curves, consisting of and containing all converging orbits asymptotic to $Γ$. Our results generalize to the case where $Γ$ is a formal periodic curve of $F$.

Parabolic curves of diffeomorphisms asymptotic to formal invariant curves

We prove that if $F$ is a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism at $0\in\mathbb{C}^2$ and $Γ$ is a formal invariant curve of $F$ then there exists a parabolic curve (attracting or repelling) of $F$ asymptotic to $Γ$. The result is a consequence of a more general one in arbitrary dimension, where we prove the existence of parabolic curves of a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism $F$ at $0\in\mathbb{C}^n$ asymptotic to a given formal invariant curve under some additional conditions, expressed in terms of a reduction of $F$ to a special normal form by means of blow-ups and ramifications along the formal curve.
