Optimal Hamiltonian of Fermion Flows

After providing a general formulation of Fermion flows within the context of Hudson-Parthasarathy quantum stochastic calculus, we consider the problem of determining the noise coefficients of the Hamiltonian associated with a Fermion flow so as to minimize a naturally associated quadratic performance functional. This extends to Fermion flows results of the authors previously obtained for Boson flows .

On Quantum Markov Chains on Cayley tree II: Phase transitions for the associated chain with XY-model on the Cayley tree of order three

In the present paper we study forward Quantum Markov Chains (QMC) defined on a Cayley tree. Using the tree structure of graphs, we give a construction of quantum Markov chains on a Cayley tree. By means of such constructions we prove the existence of a phase transition for the XY-model on a Cayley tree of order three in QMC scheme. By the phase transition we mean the existence of two now quasi equivalent QMC for the given family of interaction operators $\{K_{ }\}$.

On Quantum Markov Chains on Cayley tree I: uniqueness of the associated chain with XY-model on the Cayley tree of order two

In the present paper we study forward Quantum Markov Chains (QMC) defined on Cayley tree. A construction of such QMC is provided, namely we construct states on finite volumes with boundary conditions, and define QMC as a weak limit of those states which depends on the boundary conditions. Using the provided construction we investigate QMC associated with XY-model on a Caylay tree of order two. We prove uniqueness of QMC associated with such a model, this means the QMC does not depend on the boundary conditions.

Quantum Markov fields on graphs

We introduce generalized quantum Markov states and generalized d-Markov chains which extend the notion quantum Markov chains on spin systems to that on $C^*$-algebras defined by general graphs. As examples of generalized d-Markov chains, we construct the entangled Markov fields on tree graphs. The concrete examples of generalized d-Markov chains on Cayley trees are also investigated.

Quantum Probability, Renormalization and Infinite-Dimensional *-Lie Algebras

The present paper reviews some intriguing connections which link together a new renormalization technique, the theory of *-representations of infinite dimensional *-Lie algebras, quantum probability, white noise and stochastic calculus and the theory of classical and quantum infinitely divisible processes.

Extending the Set of Quadratic Exponential Vectors

We extend the square of white noise algebra over the step functions on R to the test function space of bounded square-integrable functions on R^d, and we show that in the Fock representation the exponential vectors exist for all test functions bounded by 1/2.

Central extensions of the Heisenberg algebra

We study the non-trivial central extensions $CEHeis$ of the Heisenberg algebra $Heis$ recently constructed in {AccBouCE}. We prove that a real form of $CEHeis$ is one the fifteen classified real four--dimensional solvable Lie algebras. We also show that $CEHeis$ can be realized (i) as a sub--Lie--algebra of the Schroedinger algebra and (ii) in terms of two independent copies of the canonical commutation relations (CCR). This gives a natural family of unitary representations of $CEHeis$ and allows an explicit determination of the associated group by exponentiation. In contrast with $Heis$, the group law for $CEHeis$ is given by nonlinear (quadratic) functions of the coordinates.

A note on noncommutative unique ergodicity and weighted means

In this paper we study unique ergodicity of $C^*$-dynamical system $(\ga,T)$, consisting of a unital $C^*$-algebra $\ga$ and a Markov operator $T:\ga\mapsto\ga$, relative to its fixed point subspace, in terms of Riesz summation which is weaker than Cesaro one. Namely, it is proven that $(\ga,T)$ is uniquely ergodic relative to its fixed point subspace if and only if its Riesz means {equation*} \frac{1}{p_1+...+p_n}\sum_{k=1}^{n}p_kT^kx {equation*} converge to $E_T(x)$ in $\ga$ for any $x\in\ga$, as $n\to\infty$, here $E_T$ is an projection of $\ga$ to the fixed point subspace of $T$. It is also constructed a uniquely ergodic entangled Markov operator relative to its fixed point subspace, which is not ergodic.

Fock representation of the renormalized higher powers of white noise and the Virasoro--Zamolodchikov--$w_{\infty} *$--Lie algebra

The identification of the $*$--Lie algebra of the renormalized higher powers of white noise (RHPWN) and the analytic continuation of the second quantized Virasoro--Zamolodchikov--$w_{\infty} *$--Lie algebra of conformal field theory and high-energy physics, was recently established in \cite{id} based on results obtained in [1] and [2]. In the present paper we show how the RHPWN Fock kernels must be truncated in order to be positive definite and we obtain a Fock representation of the two algebras. We show that the truncated renormalized higher powers of white noise (TRHPWN) Fock spaces of order $\geq 2$ host the continuous binomial and beta processes.

Uniqueness of the EPR--chemeleon model

A classical deterministic, reversible dynamical systems, reproducing the Einstein--Podolsky--Rosen (EPR) correlations in full respect of causality and locality and without the introduction of any ad hoc selection procedure, was constructed in the paper [AIR02]. In the present paper we prove that the above mentioned model is unique (see Theorem (2) in the sense that any local causal probability measure which reproduces the EPR correlations must coincide, under natural and generic assumptions, with the one constructed in [AIR02]. The Quantum Black-Scholes Equation

Motivated by the work of Segal and Segal on the Black-Scholes pricing formula in the quantum context, we study a quantum extension of the Black-Scholes equation within the context of Hudson-Parthasarathy quantum stochastic calculus. Our model includes stock markets described by quantum Brownian motion and Poisson process.

Chameleon effect, the range of values hypothesis and reproducing the EPR-Bohm correlations

We present a detailed analysis of assumptions that J. Bell used to show that local realism contradicts QM. We find that Bell's viewpoint on realism is nonphysical, because it implicitly assume that observed physical variables coincides with ontic variables (i.e., these variables before measurement). The real physical process of measurement is a process of dynamical interaction between a system and a measurement device. Therefore one should check the adequacy of QM not to ``Bell's realism,'' but to adaptive realism (chameleon realism). Dropping Bell's assumption we are able to construct a natural representation of the EPR-Bohm correlations in the local (adaptive) realistic approach.

Renormalized Higher Powers of White Noise and the Virasoro-Zamolodchikov-$w_\infty$ Algebra

Recently (cf. \cite{ABIDAQP06} and \cite{ABIJMCS06}) L. Accardi and A. Boukas proved that the generators of the second quantized Virasoro--Zamolodchikov--$w_{\infty}$ algebra can be expressed in terms of the Renormalized Higher Powers of White Noise and conjectured that this inclusion might in fact be an identity, in the sense that the converse is also true. In this paper we prove that this conjecture is true. We also explain the difference between this result and the Boson representation of the Virasoro algebra, which realizes, in the 1--mode case (in particular without renormalization), an inclusion of this algebra into the full oscillator algebra. This inclusion was known in the physical literature and some heuristic results were obtained in the direction of the extension of this inclusion to the 1--mode Virasoro--Zamolodchikov--$w_{\infty}$ algebra. However the possibility of an identification of the second quantizations of these two algebras was not even conjectured in the physics literature.

Decompositions of the free product of graphs

We study the free product of rooted graphs and its various decompositions using quantum probabilistic methods. We show that the free product of rooted graphs is canonically associated with free independence, which completes the proof of the conjecture that there exists a product of rooted graphs canonically associated with each notion of noncommutative independence which arises in the axiomatic theory. Using the `orthogonal product' of rooted graphs, we decompose the branches of the free product of rooted graphs as `alternating orthogonal products'. This leads to alternating decompositions of the free product itself, with the star product or the comb product followed by orthogonal products. These decompositions correspond to the recently studied decompositions of the free additive convolution of probability measures in terms boolean and orthogonal convolutions, or monotone and orthogonal convolutions. We also introduce a new type of `quantum decomposition' of the free product of graphs, where the distance partition of the set of vertices is taken with respect to a set of vertices instead of a single vertex. We show that even in the case of widely studied graphs this yields new and more complete information on their spectral properties, like spectral measures of a (usually infinite) set of cyclic vectors under the action of the adjacency matrix.

The emergence of the Virasoro and $w_{\infty}$ algebras through the renormalized powers of quantum white noise

We introduce a new renormalization for the powers of the Dirac delta function. We show that this new renormalization leads to a second quantized version of the Virasoro sector $w_{\infty}$ of the extended conformal algebra with infinite symmetries $W_{\infty}$ of Conformal Field Theory. In particular we construct a white noise (boson) representation of the $w_{\infty}$ generators and commutation relations and of their second quantization.

Renormalized Higher Powers of White Noise (RHPWN) and Conformal Field Theory

The Virasoro--Zamolodchikov Lie algebra $w_{\infty}$ has been widely studied in string theory and in conformal field theory, motivated by the attempts of developing a satisfactory theory of quantization of gravity. The renormalized higher powers of quantum white noise (RHPWN) *-Lie algebra has been recently investigated in quantum probability, motivated by the attempts to develop a nonlinear generalization of stochastic and white noise analysis. We prove that, after introducing a new renormalization technique, the RHPWN Lie algebra includes a second quantization of the $w_{\infty}$ algebra. Arguments discussed at the end of this note suggest the conjecture that this inclusion is in fact an identification
