Holographic dark energy with varying gravitational constant

We investigate the holographic dark energy scenario with a varying gravitational constant, in flat and non-flat background geometry. We extract the exact differential equations determining the evolution of the dark energy density-parameter, which include $G$-variation correction terms. Performing a low-redshift expansion of the dark energy equation of state, we provide the involved parameters as functions of the current density parameters, of the holographic dark energy constant and of the $G$-variation.

Algebraic approach for shape invariant potentials in Klein-Gordon equation

The Shape invariant method has the algebraic structure and its algebras are infinite-dimensional. These algebras are converted into finite-dimensional under conditions. Based on the property of this method we obtain the algebraic structure of some physical potentials in the s-wave Klein-Gordon equation with scalar and vector potential which satisfy the Shape invariant condition.

Quintom dark energy in DGP braneworld cosmology

In this paper we consider a $Z_2$ symmetrical 3-brane embedded in a 5-dimensional spacetime. We study the effective Einstein equation and acceleration condition in presence of the quintom dark energy fluid as the bulk matter field. It is shown that the time-dependent bulk quintom field induces a time-dependent cosmological constant on the brane. In the framework of the DGP model, the effective Einstein equation is obtained in two different cases: i) where the quintom field is considered as the bulk matter field and the brane is empty and, ii) where the quintom dark energy is confined on the brane and the bulk is empty. We show that in both cases one could obtain a self-inflationary solution at late time in positive branch $ε=1$, and an asymptotically static universe in negative branch $ε=-1$.

Quintom dark energy models with nearly flat potentials

We examine quintom dark energy models, produced by the combined consideration of a canonical and a phantom field, with nearly flat potentials and dark energy equation-of-state parameter $w_{DE}$ close to -1. We find that all such models converge to a single expression for $w_{DE}(z)$, depending only on the initial field values and their derivatives. We show that this quintom paradigm allows for a description of the transition through -1 in the near cosmological past. In addition, we provide the necessary conditions for the determination of the direction of the -1-crossing.

Braneworld models with a non-minimally coupled phantom bulk field: a simple way to obtain the -1-crossing at late times

We investigate general braneworld models, with a non-minimally coupled phantom bulk field and arbitrary brane and bulk matter contents. We show that the effective dark energy of the brane-universe acquires a dynamical nature, as a result of the non-minimal coupling which provides a mechanism for an indirect "bulk-brane interaction" through gravity. For late-time cosmological evolution and without resorting to special ansatzes or to specific areas of the parameter space, we show that the -1-crossing of its equation-of-state parameter is general and can be easily achieved. As an example we provide a simple, but sufficiently general, approximate analytical solution, that presents the crossing behavior.

Holographic modified gravity

In this paper we study cosmological application of holographic dark energy density in the modified gravity framework. We employ the holographic model of dark energy to obtain the equation of state for the holographic energy density in spatially flat universe. Our calculation show, taking $Ω_Λ=0.73$ for the present time, it is possible to have $w_{\rm Λ}$ crossing -1. This implies that one can generate phantom-like equation of state from a holographic dark energy model in flat universe in the modified gravity cosmology framework. Also we develop a reconstruction scheme for the modified gravity with $f(R)$ action.

Drag Force of Moving Quark in STU Background

In this paper we consider a quark moving in D=5, ${\mathcal{N}}=2$ supergravity thermal plasma. By using three charge non-extremal black hole solution (STU solution) we calculate drag force on the quark and diffusion constant from $AdS$/CFT correspondence.

Non-minimally coupled canonical, phantom and quintom models of holographic dark energy

We investigate canonical, phantom and quintom models, with the various fields being non-minimally coupled to gravity, in the framework of holographic dark energy. We classify them and we discuss their cosmological implications. In particular, we examine the present value of the dark energy equation-of-state parameter and the crossing through the phantom divide, and we extract the conditions for a future cosmological singularity. The combined scenarios are in agreement with observations and reveal interesting cosmological behaviors.

Correspondence between Holographic and Gauss-Bonnet dark energy models

In the present work we investigate the cosmological implications of holographic dark energy density in the Gauss-Bonnet framework. By formulating independently the two cosmological scenarios, and by enforcing their simultaneous validity, we show that there is a correspondence between the holographic dark energy scenario in flat universe and the phantom dark energy model in the framework of Gauss-Bonnet theory with a potential. This correspondence leads consistently to an accelerating universe. However, in general one has not full freedom of constructing independently the two cosmological scenarios. Specific constraints must be imposed on the coupling with gravity and on the potential.

Coupled oscillators as models of quintom dark energy

We investigate quintom cosmology in FRW universes using isomorphic models consisting of three coupled oscillators, one of which carries negative kinetic energy. In particular, we examine the cosmological paradigms of minimally-coupled massless quintom, of two conformally-coupled massive scalars and of conformally-coupled massive quintom, and we obtain their qualitative characteristics as well as their quantitative asymptotic behavior. For open or flat geometries, we find that, independently of the specific initial conditions, the universe is always led to an eternal expansion.

Quintom model with O($N$) symmetry

We investigate the quintom model of dark energy in the generalized case where the corresponding canonical and phantom fields possess O($N$) symmetries. Assuming exponential potentials we find that this O$(N)$ quintom paradigm exhibits novel properties comparing to the simple canonical and phantom scenarios. In particular, we find that the universe cannot result in a quintessence-type solution with $w>-1$, even in the cases where the phantom field seems to be irrelevant. On the contrary, there are always late-time attractors which correspond to accelerating universes with $w<-1$ and with a recent crossing of the phantom divide, and for a very large area of the parameter space they are the only ones. This is in contrast with the previous simple-quintom results, where an accelerating universe is a possible late-time stable solution but it is not guaranteed.

Quintom Cosmology with General Potentials

We investigate the phase-space structure of the quintom paradigm in the framework of a spatially flat, open, or closed isotropic and homogeneous universe. We examine the dynamical evolution under the assumption of late-time dark energy domination, without specifying the explicit quintom potential form. The obtained cosmological behavior is qualitatively different than that acquired from the single phantom model.

Thermodynamical Interpretation of the Interacting Holographic Dark Energy Model in a non-flat Universe

Motivated by the recent work of Wang, Lin, Pavon, and Abdalla [1], we generalize their work to the non-flat case. In particular, we provide a thermodynamical interpretation for the holographic dark energy model in a non-flat universe. For this case, the characteristic length is no more the radius of the event horizon (R_E) but the event horizon radius as measured from the sphere of the horizon (L). Furthermore, when interaction between the dark components of the holographic dark energy model in the non-flat universe is present its thermodynamical interpretation changes by a stable thermal fluctuation. A relation between the interaction term of the dark components and this thermal fluctuation is obtained. In the limiting case of a flat universe, i.e. k=0, all results given in [1] are obtained.

Bouncing Universe with Non-minimally Coupled Quintom Matter

In this letter, we study the condition for a generalized DBI action providing a quintom scenario of dark energy. We consider a development of string-inspired quintom by introducing non-minimal coupling. Then we show that the bouncing solution can appear in the universe dominated by the non-minimally coupled quintom matter.

Bouncing cosmological solutions and their stability

In the present paper we consider the bouncing braneworld scenario, in which the bulk is given by a five-dimensional charged AdS black hole spacetime with matter field confined in a $D_3$ brane. Then, we study the stability of solutions with respect to homogeneous and isotropic perturbations. Specifically, the AdS black hole with zero ADM mass and charge, and open horizon is an attractor, while the charged AdS black hole with zero ADM mass and flat horizon, is a repeller.

Mapping of shape invariant potentials by the point canonical transformation

In this paper by using the method of point canonical transformation we find that the Coulomb and Kratzer potentials can be mapped to the Morse potential. Then we show that the Pöschl-Teller potential type I belongs to the same subclass of shape invariant potentials as Hulthén potential. Also we show that the shape-invariant algebra for Coulomb, Kratzer, and Morse potentials is SU(1,1), while the shape-invariant algebra for Pöschl-Teller type I and Hulthén is SU(2).

First-order formalism for the quintom model of dark energy

The present paper deals to the quintom model of dark energy. We introduce a first-order formalism, which shows how to relate the potential that specifies the scalar field model to Hubble parameter. Reviewing briefly the quintom scenario of dark energy, we present a general procedure to solve the equations of motion for quintom model driven by a couple scalar fields with first-order differential equations.
