Joint Deformations of Manifolds, Coherent Sheaves and Sections

We describe a differential graded Lie algebra controlling infinitesimal deformations of triples $(X,\mathcal{F},\sigma)$, where $\mathcal{F}$ is a coherent sheaf on a smooth variety $X$ over a field of characteristic 0 and $\sigma\in H^0(X,\mathcal{F})$. Then, we apply this result to investigate deformations of pairs (variety, divisor).

Semiregularity maps and deformations of modules over Lie algebroids

We determine a DG-Lie algebra controlling deformations of a locally free module over a Lie algebroid $\mathcal{A}$. Moreover, for every flat inclusion of Lie algebroids $\mathcal{A}\subset \mathcal{L}$ we introduce semiregularity maps and prove that they annihilate obstructions, provided that the Leray spectral sequence of the pair $(\mathcal{L},\mathcal{A})$ degenerates at $E_1$.

Connections and $L_{\infty}$ liftings of semiregularity maps

Let $E^*$ be a finite complex of locally free sheaves on a complex manifold $X$. We prove that to every connection of type $(1,0)$ on $E^*$ it is canonically associated an $L_{\infty}$ morphism $g\colon A^{0, *}_X(\mathcal{H}om^*_{O_X}(E^*,E^*))\to \dfrac{A^{*,*}_X}{A^{\ge 2,*}_X}[2]$ that lifts the 1-component of Buchweitz-Flenner semiregularity map. An application to deformations of coherent sheaves on projective manifolds is given.

Formality conjecture for minimal surfaces of Kodaira dimension 0

Let F be a polystable sheaf on a smooth minimal projective surface of Kodaira dimension 0. Then the DG-Lie algebra RHom(F,F) of derived endomorphisms of F is formal. The proof is based on the study of equivariant $L_{\infty}$ minimal models of DG-Lie algebras equipped with a cyclic structure of degree 2 which is non-degenerate in cohomology, and does not rely (even for K3 surfaces) on previous results on the same subject.

On deformations of diagrams of commutative algebras

In this paper we study classical deformations of diagrams of commutative algebras over a field of characteristic 0. In particular we determine several homotopy classes of DG-Lie algebras, each one of them controlling this above deformation problem: the first homotopy type is described in terms of the projective model structure on the category of diagrams of differential graded algebras, the others in terms of the Reedy model structure on truncated Bousfield-Kan approximations. The first half of the paper contains an elementary introduction to the projective model structure on the category of commutative differential graded algebras, while the second half is devoted to the main results.

Homotopy abelianity of the DG-Lie algebra controlling deformations of pairs (variety with trivial canonical bundle, line bundle)

We investigate the deformations of pairs $(X,L)$, where $L$ is a line bundle on a smooth projective variety $X$, defined over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$ of characteristic 0. In particular, we prove that the DG-Lie algebra controlling the deformations of the pair $(X,L)$ is homotopy abelian whenever $X$ has trivial canonical bundle, and so these deformations are unobstructed.

Deformations of polystable sheaves on surfaces: quadraticity implies formality

We study relations between the quadraticity of the Kuranishi family of a coherent sheaf on a complex projective scheme and the formality of the DG-Lie algebra of its derived endomorphisms. In particular, we prove that for a polystable coherent sheaf on a smooth complex projective surface the DG-Lie algebra of derived endomorphisms is formal if and only if the Kuranishi family is quadratic.

Deformations of algebraic schemes via Reedy-Palamodov cofibrant resolutions

Let $X$ be a Noetherian separated and finite dimensional scheme over a field $\mathbb{K}$ of characteristic zero. The goal of this paper is to study deformations of $X$ over a differential graded local Artin $\mathbb{K}$-algebra by using local Tate-Quillen resolutions, i.e., the algebraic analog of the Palamodov's resolvent of a complex space. The above goal is achieved by describing the DG-Lie algebra controlling deformation theory of a diagram of differential graded commutative algebras, indexed by a direct Reedy category.

Endomorphisms of Koszul complexes: formality and application to deformation theory

We study the differential graded Lie algebra of endomorphisms of the Koszul resolution of a regular sequence on a unitary commutative $K$-algebra $R$ and we prove that it is homotopy abelian over $K$, while it is generally not formal over $R$. We apply this result to prove an annihilation theorem for obstructions of (derived) deformations of locally complete intersection ideal sheaves on projective schemes.

Formal deformation theory in left-proper model categories

We develop the notion of deformation of a morphism in a left-proper model category. As an application we provide a geometric/homotopic description of deformations of commutative (non-positively) graded differential algebras over a local DG-Artin ring.

On deformations of pairs (manifold, coherent sheaf)

We analyse infinitesimal deformations of pairs $(X,\mathcal{F})$ with $\mathcal{F}$ a coherent sheaf on a smooth projective manifold $X$ over an algebraic closed field of characteristic $0$. We describe a differential graded Lie algebra controlling the deformation problem, and we prove an analog of a Mukai-Artamkin Theorem about the trace map.

The projective model structure on contractions

We prove that the projective model structure on the category of unbounded cochain complexes extends naturally to the category of contractions. The proof is completely elementary and we do not assume familiarity with model categories.

Formal Abel-Jacobi maps

We realize the infinitesimal Abel-Jacobi map as a morphism of formal deformation theories, realized as a morphism in the homotopy category of differential graded Lie algebras. The whole construction is carried out in a general setting, of which the classical Abel-Jacobi map is a special example.

Universal Lie Formulas for Higher Antibrackets

We prove that the hierarchy of higher antibrackets (aka higher Koszul brackets, aka Koszul braces) of a linear operator $Δ$ on a commutative superalgebra can be defined by some universal formulas involving iterated Nijenhuis-Richardson brackets having as arguments $Δ$ and the multiplication operators. As a byproduct, we can immediately extend higher antibrackets to noncommutative algebras in a way preserving the validity of generalized Jacobi identities.

Algebraic models of local period maps and Yukawa algebras

We describe some L-infinity model for the local period map of a compact Kaehler manifold. Applications include the study of deformations with associated variation of Hodge structure constrained by certain closed strata of the Grassmannian of the de Rham cohomology. As a byproduct we obtain an interpretation in the framework of deformation theory of the Yukawa coupling.
