de Sitter Wavefunction from Quadrangular Polylogarithms: Chain Graphs

We present an explicit formula for the $n$-site chain graph contribution to the cosmological wavefunction for conformally coupled $\phi^3$ theory in de Sitter space. Our result relies on the recent finding that the symbol of this function satisfies total compatibility with respect to the $A_{2n-2}$ cluster algebra, and that Rudenko's quadrangular polylogarithms provide, by construction, a complete basis for such functions. We prove our formula by directly relating a recursive set of differential equations satisfied by these wavefunction coefficients to a recursive coproduct formula for quadrangular polylogarithms.

Landau Analysis of One-Cycle Negative Geometries

We use geometric Landau analysis to determine the singularity structure of four-point, one-cycle negative geometries in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory, which represent certain contributions to the logarithm of the four-point amplitude or equivalently the normalized quadrangular Wilson loop with a Lagrangian insertion. By analyzing the relevant Landau diagrams recursively, we prove that this quantity has singularities only at $z=-1,0$ and $\infty$ to all loop orders. This represents a first step towards obtaining a non-perturbative resummation for this quantity at next-to-leading order in the expansion over cycles.

Cluster Bootstrap for Cosmological Correlators

We show that cosmological wavefunction coefficients associated with $n$-site chain and loop graphs for a cubic scalar theory in de Sitter spacetime have symbol alphabets given by subsets of $A_{2n{-}2}$ and $B_{2n{-}1}$ cluster variables, respectively, and satisfy the associated cluster adjacency properties. The key step in proving this is identifying a precise connection between graph "tubings" that appear in the kinematic flow equation and polygon "triangulations" that encode the combinatorics of cluster compatibility. Our results imply that cosmological wavefunction coefficients in a general power-law FRW cosmology satisfy cluster adjacency to all orders in the $\epsilon$ expansion. We use this information as bootstrap input to show that de Sitter symbols for $n \leq 4$ are uniquely determined by simple physical constraints.

Split-Helicity Tree Amplitudes and Flag Cluster Algebras

Recent work has uncovered a connection between the symbol letters of general massless scattering and (permutations of) cluster variables of partial flag varieties. In this paper we explore the cluster adjacency of tree-level gluon amplitudes, specifically focusing on split-helicity amplitudes which can be written in closed form in terms of zigzag diagrams. We check in several cases, and conjecture in general, that the poles in each term satisfy cluster adjacency under a set of permutations that is built from arc permutations of the corresponding zigzag.

Symbol Alphabets in QCD and Flag Cluster Algebras

The full 245-letter symbol alphabet for all planar massless two-loop six-point Feynman integrals was recently determined in arXiv:2412.19884 and arXiv:2501.01847. In a parallel mathematical development, it was shown in arXiv:2408.14956 that there is an embedding of the cluster algebra associated to the partial flag variety $Fl_{2,n-2;n}$, which describes the kinematics of $n$ massless particles, into that of the Grassmannian Gr$(n{-}2,2n{-}4)$. In this paper we connect these developments by showing that most of the rational symbol letters can be expressed in terms of flag cluster variables, and that all of the algebraic symbol letters arise from infinite mutation sequences.

Large deformations of Tr($\Phi^3$) and the world at infinity

The amplitudes of the non-linear sigma model can be obtained from those of Tr($\Phi^3$) theory by sending the kinematic (Mandelstam) variables to infinity in a certain direction. In this paper we characterize the behavior of Tr($\Phi^3$) amplitudes under a general class of large kinematic shifts called $g$-vector shifts. The objects that live in this world at infinity retain certain key amplitude-like properties, most notably factorization, and admit descriptions in terms of polytopes, but they are not generally amplitudes of any cognizable theory. We identify particular $g$-vector shifts that lead at infinity to mixed amplitudes involving two pions and any number of scalars, allowing us to provide polytopal descriptions of these amplitudes.

Hidden Zeros of the Cosmological Wavefunction

Motivated by the recent discovery of hidden zeros in particle and string amplitudes, we characterize zeros of individual graph contributions to the cosmological wavefunction of a scalar field theory. We demonstrate that these contributions factorize near these zeros for all tree graphs and provide evidence that this extends to loop graphs as well. We explicitly construct polytopal realizations of the relevant graph associahedra and show that the cosmological zeros have natural geometric and physical interpretations. As a byproduct, we establish an equivalence between the wavefunction coefficients of chain graphs and flat-space Tr$(\phi^3)$ amplitudes, enabling us to leverage the cosmological zeros to uncover the recently discovered hidden zeros of colored amplitudes.

From Feynman diagrams to the amplituhedron: a gentle review

In this article we review, for a mathematical audience, the computation of (tree-level) scattering amplitudes in Yang-Mills theory in detail, in order to bridge the gap in understanding of the subject between mathematicians and physicists. In particular we demonstrate explicitly how the same formulas for six-particle NMHV helicity amplitudes are obtained from summing Feynman diagrams and from computing the canonical form of the $n=6, k=1, m=4$ amplituhedron.

On Unitarity of the Hypergeometric Amplitude

The hypergeometric amplitude is a one-parameter deformation of the Veneziano amplitude for four-point tachyon scattering in bosonic string theory that is consistent with $S$-matrix bootstrap constraints. In this article we construct a similar hypergeometric generalization of the Veneziano amplitude for type-I superstring theory. We then rule out a large region of the $(r,m^2,D)$ parameter space as non-unitary, and establish another large subset of the $(r, m^2, D)$ parameter space where all of the residue's partial wave coefficients are positive. We also analyze positivity in various limits and special cases. As a corollary to our analysis, we are able to directly demonstrate positivity of a wider set of Veneziano amplitude partial wave coefficients than what has been presented elsewhere.

On Unitarity of Bespoke Amplitudes

We use partial wave unitarity to constrain various bespoke four-point amplitudes. We start by constructing bespoke generalizations of the type I superstring amplitude, which we show satisfy dual resonance and have suitable high-energy limits. By analyzing the behavior of partial wave coefficients for highly massive states, we strictly rule out all bespoke amplitudes with asymptotically non-linear Regge trajectories and place constraints on the first few non-trivial parameters in asymptotically linear cases. Finally, we argue that while a large class of unitary bespoke amplitudes fails to satisfy Regge Sum Rules, there exists a smaller sub-class with a vanishing mass gap that is superpolynomially bounded.

Surfaceology for Colored Yukawa Theory

Arkani-Hamed and collaborators have recently shown that scattering amplitudes for colored theories can be expressed as integrals over combinatorial objects simply constructed from surfaces decorated by kinematic data. In this paper we extend the curve integral formalism to theories with colored fermionic matter and present a compact formula for the all-loop, all-genus, all-multiplicity amplitude integrand of a colored Yukawa theory. The curve integral formalism makes certain properties of the amplitudes manifest and repackages non-trivial numerators into a single combinatorial object. We also present an efficient formula for $L$-loop integrated amplitudes in terms of a sum over $2^L$ combinatorial determinants.

Supersymmetry and the Celestial Jacobi Identity

In this paper we study the simplifying effects of supersymmetry on celestial OPEs at both tree and loop level. We find at tree level that theories with unbroken supersymmetry around a stable vacuum have celestial soft current algebras satisfying the Jacobi identity, and we show at one loop that celestial OPEs in these theories have no double poles.

One-loop Integrals from Volumes of Orthoschemes

Recently in arXiv:2012.05599 Rudenko presented a formula for the volume of hyperbolic orthoschemes in terms of alternating polylogarithms. We use this result to provide an explicit analytic result for the one-loop scalar n-gon Feynman integral in n dimensions, for even n, with massless or massive internal and external edges. Furthermore, we evaluate the general six-dimensional hexagon integral in terms of classical polylogarithms.

Landau Singularities of the 7-Point Ziggurat II

We solve the Landau equations to find the singularities of nine three-loop 7-point graphs that arise as relaxations of the graph studied in arXiv:2211.16425. Along the way we establish that $Y{-}\Delta$ equivalence fails for certain branches of solutions to the Landau equations. We find two graphs with singularities outside the heptagon symbol alphabet; in particular they are not cluster variables of ${\rm Gr}(4,7)$. We compare maximal residues of scalar graphs exhibiting these singularities to those in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory in order to probe their cancellation from its amplitudes.

On unitarity of the Coon amplitude

The Coon amplitude is a one-parameter deformation of the Veneziano amplitude. We explore the unitarity of the Coon amplitude through its partial wave expansion using tools from $q$-calculus. Our analysis establishes manifest positivity on the leading and sub-leading Regge trajectories in arbitrary spacetime dimensions $D$, while revealing a violation of unitarity in a certain region of $(q,D)$ parameter space starting at the sub-sub-leading Regge order. A combination of numerical studies and analytic arguments allows us to argue for the manifest positivity of the partial wave coefficients in fixed spin and Regge asymptotics.

Landau Singularities of the 7-Point Ziggurat I

We compute the leading (first-type Landau) singularities of a certain four-loop 7-point graph that is related to the 7-point ``ziggurat'' graph by the graphical moves familiar from equivalent circuit theory. We find perfect agreement with a subset of the ``heptagon symbol alphabet'' that has appeared in the context of planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. The remaining heptagon symbol letters are found in its subleading Landau singularities, which we address in a companion paper.

Loop-level gluon OPEs in celestial holography

We compute one-loop corrections to the OPE of gluons in the celestial conformal field theory corresponding to Yang-Mills coupled to arbitrary matter. We exploit universal hard/soft factorization to derive an IR finite OPE for the hard gluon operators. This OPE involves logarithms and operators that resemble logarithmic partners of primary operators. We derive an exact all-loop OPE in a limit of the Higgs-regulated planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory.
