Localization for a nonlinear sigma model in a strip related to vertex reinforced jump processes

We study a lattice sigma model which is expected to reflect Anderson localization and delocalization transition for real symmetric band matrices in 3D, but describes the mixing measure for a vertex reinforced jump process too. For this model we prove exponential localization at any temperature in a strip, and more generally in any quasi-one dimensional graph, with pinning (mass) at only one site. The proof uses a Mermin-Wagner type argument and a transfer operator approach.

The nematic phase of a system of long hard rods

We consider a two-dimensional lattice model for liquid crystals consisting of long rods interacting via purely hard core interactions, with two allowed orientations defined by the underlying lattice. We rigorously prove the existence of a nematic phase, i.e., we show that at intermediate densities the system exhibits orientational order, either horizontal or vertical, but no positional order. The proof is based on a two-scales cluster expansion: we first coarse grain the system on a scale comparable with the rods' length; then we express the resulting effective theory as a contour's model, which can be treated by Pirogov-Sinai methods.

Parametric Cutoffs for Interacting Fermi Liquids

We introduce a new multiscale decomposition of the Fermi propagator based on its parametric representation. We prove that the corresponding sliced propagator obeys the same direct space bounds than the previous decomposition used by the authors. Therefore non perturbative bounds on completely convergent contributions still hold. In addition the new slicing better preserves momenta, hence should become an important new technical tool for the rigorous analysis of condensed matter systems. In particular it should allow to complete the proof that a three dimensional interacting system of Fermions with spherical Fermi surface is a Fermi liquid in the sense of Salmhofer's criterion.

Anderson localization for a supersymmetric sigma model

We study a lattice sigma model which is expected to reflect the Anderson localization and delocalization transition for real symmetric band matrices in 3D. In this statistical mechanics model, the field takes values in a supermanifold based on the hyperbolic plane. The existence of a diffusive phase in 3 dimensions was proved for low temperatures. Here we prove localization at high temperatures for any dimension $d\geq 1$. Our analysis uses Ward identities coming from internal supersymmetry.

Quasi-diffusion in a 3D Supersymmetric Hyperbolic Sigma Model

We study a lattice field model which qualitatively reflects the phenomenon of Anderson localization and delocalization for real symmetric band matrices. In this statistical mechanics model, the field takes values in a supermanifold based on the hyperbolic plane. Correlations in this model may be described in terms of a random walk in a highly correlated random environment. We prove that in three or more dimensions the model has a `diffusive' phase at low temperatures. Localization is expected at high temperatures. Our analysis uses estimates on non-uniformly elliptic Green's functions and a family of Ward identities coming from internal supersymmetry.

Two and Three Loops Beta Function of Non Commutative $Φ^4_4$ Theory

The simplest non commutative renormalizable field theory, the $ϕ_4^4$ model on four dimensional Moyal space with harmonic potential is asymptotically safe at one loop, as shown by H. Grosse and R. Wulkenhaar. We extend this result up to three loops. If this remains true at any loop, it should allow a full non perturbative construction of this model.
