Preliminarily group classification of a class of 2D nonlinear heat equations

A preliminary group classification of the class 2D nonlinear heat equations $u_t=f(x,y,u,u_x,u_y)(u_{xx}+u_{yy})$, where $f$ is arbitrary smooth function of the variables $x,y,u,u_x$ and $u_y$ using Lie method, is given. The paper is one of the few applications of an algebraic approach to the problem of group classification: the method of preliminary group classification.

Affine Geometry of Space Curves

This paper is devoted to the complete classification of space curves under affine transformations in the view of Cartan's theorem. Spivak has introduced the method but has not found the invariants. Furthermore, for the first time, we propound a necessary and sufficient condition for the invariants. Then, we study the shapes of space curves with constant curvatures in detail and suggest their applications in physics, computer vision and image processing.

Group analysis of three dimensional Euler equations of gas dynamics

In this paper, the equations governing the unsteady flow of a perfect polytropic gas in three space dimensions are considered. The basic similarity reductions for this system are performed. Reduced equations and exact solutions associated with the symmetries are obtained. This results is used to give the invariance of system up to Galilean motions of space-times $\RR^4$. Then, an optimal system of one-dimensional sub-algebras for symmetry algebra of this system is given.

Exact solution of generalized inviscid Burgers' equation

Let $f,g:{\Bbb R}\to{\Bbb R}$ be integrable functions, $f$ nowhere zero, and $ϕ(u)=\int du/f(u)$ be invertible. An exact solution to the generalized nonhomogeneous inviscid Burgers' equation $u_t+g(u).u_x=f(u)$ is given, by quadratures.

Geometry of Distributions and $F-$Gordon equation

In this paper we describe the geometry of distributions by their symmetries, and present a simplified proof of the Frobenius theorem and some related corollaries. Then, we study the geometry of solutions of $F-$Gordon equation; A PDE which appears in differential geometry and relativistic field theory.

Symmetry analysis of cylindrical Helmholtz equation

In this paper, we present the point symmetry group of three-dimensional homogeneous Helmholtz equation, when we consider the cylindrical coordinate system. In continuation, we present a complete set of functionally independent invariants of the equation along with the form of the general solution provided by these invariants. Finally, we find an optimal system of one-dimensional Lie subgroups of the full symmetry group.

Lie group analysis of Poisson's equation and optimal system of subalgebras for Lie algebra of $3-$dimensional rigid motions

Using the basic Lie symmetry method, we find the most general Lie point symmetries group of the $\nabla u=f(u)$ Poisson's equation, which has a subalgebra isomorphic to the $3-$dimensional special Euclidean group ${\rm SE}(3)$ or group of rigid motions of ${\Bbb R}^3$. Looking the adjoint representation of ${\rm SE}(3)$ on its Lie algebra $\goth{se}(3)$, we will find the complete optimal system of its subalgebras. This latter provides some properties of solutions for the Poisson's equation.

Symmetry Analysis for a New Form of the Vortex Mode Equation

Giving a new form of the vortex mode equation by a proper change of parameter, our aim is to analyze the point and contact symmetries of the new equation. Fundamental invariants and a form of general solutions of point transformations along with some specific examples are also derived.

Lie Symmetries and Solutions of KdV Equation

Symmetries of a differential equations is one of the most important concepts in theory of differential equations and physics. One of the most prominent equations is KdV (Kortwege-de Vries) equation with application in shallow water theory. In this paper we are going to explain a particular method for finding symmetries of KdV equation, which is called Harrison method. Our tools in this method are Lie derivatives and differential forms, which will be discussed in the first section more precisely. In second chapter we will have some analysis on the solutions of KdV equation and we give a method, which is called first integral method for finding the solutions of KdV equation.

Symmetry of Quadratic Homogeneous Differential Systems

In this paper, the symmetry group of a differential system of n quadratic homogeneous first order ODEs of n variables is studied. For this purpose, we consider the action of both point and contact transformations to signify the corresponding Lie algebras. We also find the independent differential invariants of these actions.

Affine Classification of n-Curves

Classification of curves up to affine transformation in a finite dimensional space was studied by some different methods. In this paper, we achieve the exact formulas of affine invariants via the equivalence problem and in the view of Cartan's lemma and then, state a necessary and sufficient condition for classification of n--Curves.

Differential Invariants of SL(2) and SL(3)-ACTIONS on R^2

The main purpose of this paper is calculation of differential invariants which arise from prolonged actions of two Lie groups SL(2) and SL(3) on the $n$th jet space of $R^2$. It is necessary to calculate $n$th prolonged infenitesimal generators of the action.

The special linear representations of compact Lie groups

The special linear representation of a compact Lie group G is a kind of linear representation of compact Lie group G with special properties. It is possible to define the integral of linear representation and extend this concept to special linear representation for next using.

The Generalized Classical Time-Space

The newest model for space-time is based on sub-Riemannian geometry. In this paper, we use a combination of Lorentzian and sub-Riemannian geometry, the suggest a new model which likes to its ancestors, but with the most efficient in application. In continuation, we try to show a new connection which calls generalized connection, and prove some its properties.

Galilean Classification of Curves

In this paper, we classify space-time curves up to Galilean group of transformations with Cartan's method of equivalence. As an aim, we elicit invariats from action of special Galilean group on space-time curves, that are, in fact, conservation laws in physics. We also state a necessary and sufficient condition for equivalent Galilean motions.
