Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless region and magnetization plateaus in easy-axis triangular weak-dimer antiferromagnet K$_2$Co$_2$(SeO$_3$)$_3$

We investigate the magnetic phase diagram of the bilayer triangular antiferromagnet K$_2$Co$_2$(SeO$_3$)$_3$, revealing a rich interplay among geometric frustration, bilayer coupling, and symmetry-driven phenomena. High-field magnetization measurements show fractional magnetization plateaus at 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, and 5/6 of the saturation magnetization. To elucidate the experimental magnetic phase diagram at low fields, we propose that K$_2$Co$_2$(SeO$_3$)$_3$ can be described as an easy-axis triangular weak-dimer antiferromagnet. We emphasize the critical role of the emergent $U(1) \otimes S_3$ symmetry, where $S_3 = \mathbb{Z}_3 \otimes \mathbb{Z}_2^d$, in determining the magnetic phases at low fields. The remarkable agreement between the experimental and theoretical phase diagrams suggests that the phase transitions are governed by this symmetry. Notably, our combined experimental and theoretical results identify a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) phase region at finite fields. These findings provide new insights into the phase structure of frustrated magnets and establish K$_2$Co$_2$(SeO$_3$)$_3$ as a compelling platform for exploring unconventional quantum phenomena in $U(1) \otimes S_3$ systems.

Bias voltage controlled inversions of tunneling magnetoresistance in van der Waals heterostructures Fe3GaTe2/hBN/Fe3GaTe2

We report the bias voltage controlled inversions of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) in magnetic tunnel junctions composed of Fe3GaTe2 electrodes and hBN tunneling barrier, observed at room temperature. The polarity reversal of TMR occurs consistently at around 0.625 V across multiple devices and temperatures, highlighting the robustness of the effect. To understand this behavior, we developed a theoretical model incorporating spin-resolved density of states (DOS) at high energy levels. By adjusting the DOS weighting at different k points to account for misalignment between the crystal structure of electrodes in experimental devices, we improved agreement between experimental and theoretical inversion voltages. Our results provide valuable insight into the voltage-controlled spin injection and detection in two-dimensional magnetic tunnel junctions, with implications for the development of energy-efficient spintronic devices.

De-excitations of highly excited $^{11}$B$^*$ and $^{15}$N$^*$ based on the GEMINI++ code

Nuclear de-excitations associated with neutrino-nucleus interactions and nucleon decays are playing an increasingly significant role in neutrino experiments. We explore the GEMINI++ code and estimate its ability to account for the de-excitation processes of highly excited $^{11}$B$^*$ and $^{15}$N$^*$, which can be created in the liquid scintillator and water Cherenkov detectors respectively. It is found that GEMINI++ can not describe the nuclear experimental data of $^{11}$B$^*$ and $^{15}$N$^*$ well. To improve its performance for de-excitations of light nuclei, we modify GEMINI++ and then develop a code of GEMINI++4$ν$, which can give the best predictions compared with experimental measurements among some widely used statistical model codes.

Predictive Modeling of Flexible EHD Pumps using Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks

We present a novel approach to predicting the pressure and flow rate of flexible electrohydrodynamic pumps using the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network. Inspired by the Kolmogorov-Arnold representation theorem, KAN replaces fixed activation functions with learnable spline-based activation functions, enabling it to approximate complex nonlinear functions more effectively than traditional models like Multi-Layer Perceptron and Random Forest. We evaluated KAN on a dataset of flexible EHD pump parameters and compared its performance against RF, and MLP models. KAN achieved superior predictive accuracy, with Mean Squared Errors of 12.186 and 0.001 for pressure and flow rate predictions, respectively. The symbolic formulas extracted from KAN provided insights into the nonlinear relationships between input parameters and pump performance. These findings demonstrate that KAN offers exceptional accuracy and interpretability, making it a promising alternative for predictive modeling in electrohydrodynamic pumping.

One-loop partition functions in $T\overline{T}$-deformed AdS$_3$

We study the geometry of $T\bar{T}$-deformed BTZ black hole and find it can be regarded as a quotient of hyperbolic space. We then consider the massive scalar field propagating in the $T\bar{T}$-deformed BTZ black hole background. The one-loop partition function of scalar field is calculated using the heat kernel method and the Wilson spool proposal. These two methods give consistent result which implies the Wilson spool proposal still holds under $T\bar{T}$ deformation. Moreover, we also calculate the one-loop partition function of graviton in $T\bar{T}$-deformed BTZ black hole. We find the deformed one-loop partition functions are modified in a simple way, which corresponds to a replacement of the modular parameter. The result precisely matches the large $c$ expansion of $T\bar{T}$-deformed CFT partition function. These results provide a further check about the correspondence between $T\bar{T}$-deformed CFT$_2$ and AdS$_3$ with mixed boundary condition.

Quantum oscillations in kagome metals (Ti, Zr, Hf)V6Sn6 at Van Hove filling

Kagome materials have recently drawn great attention due to the interplay between nontrivial band topology, electron correlations, and Van Hove singularities related many-body orders. Here we report three new vanadium-based kagome metals, TiV6Sn6, ZrV6Sn6, and HfV6Sn6, and conduct a comprehensive investigation of their structural, magnetic, and electrical transport properties. All three compounds exhibit large unsaturated magnetoresistances and multiband Hall effects at low temperatures, indicating the existence of multiple highly mobile carriers. Both the diagonal and off-diagonal resistivity show quantum oscillations with nontrivial Berry phases and high quantum mobilities. First-principles calculations together with quantum oscillation analyses suggest the Van Hove singularities at the M point for the three compounds all located in close vicinity of the Fermi level, and there also exist multiple topological nontrivial band crossings, including a nodal ring and a massive Dirac cone. Our work extends the kagome AM6X6 family and paves the way for searching possible Van Hove physics in the V kagome lattice.

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory is a neutrino experiment that incorporates 20,012 20-inch photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and 25,600 3-inch PMTs. A dedicated system was designed to protect the PMTs from an implosion chain reaction underwater. As a crucial element of the protection system, over 20,000 acrylic covers were manufactured through injection molding, ensuring high dimensional precision, mechanical strength, and transparency. This paper presents the manufacturing technology, mass production process, and performance characteristics of the acrylic covers.

Sub-GeV events energy reconstruction with 3-inch PMTs in JUNO

A 20-kiloton liquid scintillator detector is designed in the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) for multiple physics purposes, including the determination of the neutrino mass ordering through reactor neutrinos, as well as measuring supernova neutrinos, solar neutrinos, and atmosphere neutrinos to explore different physics topics. Efficient reconstruction algorithms are needed to achieve these physics goals in a wide energy range from MeV to GeV. In this paper, we present a novel method for reconstructing the energy of events using hit information from 25600 3-inch photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and the OCCUPANCY method. Our algorithm exhibits good performance in accurate energy reconstruction, validated with electron Monte Carlo samples spanning kinetic energies from 10 MeV to 1 GeV.

$T\bar{T}$-deformed Entanglement Entropy for Integrable Quantum Field Theory

We calculate the $T\bar{T}$-deformed entanglement entropy for integrable quantum field theories (IQFTs) using the form factor bootstrap approach. We solve the form factor bootstrap axioms for the branch-point twist fields and obtain the deformed form factors. Using these form factors, we compute the deformed von Neuman entropy up to two particle contributions. The solution of the form factor axioms is not unique. We find that for the simplest solution of the bootstrap axioms, the UV limit of the entanglement entropy takes the same form as the undeformed one, but the effective central charge is deformed. For solutions with additional CDD-like factors, we can have different behaviors. The IR corrections, which only depends on the particle spectrum is untouched.

Environmental radon control in the 700-m underground laboratory at JUNO

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory is building the world's largest liquid scintillator detector with a 20 kt target mass and about 700 m overburden. The total underground space of civil construction is about 300,000 m$^3$ with the main hall volume of about 120,000 m$^3$, which is the biggest laboratory in the world. Radon concentration in the underground air is quite important for not only human beings' health but also the background of experiments with rare decay detection, such as neutrino and dark matter experiments. The radon concentration is the main hall is required to be around 100 Bq/m$^3$. Optimization of the ventilation with fresh air is effective to control the radon underground. To find the radon sources in the underground laboratory, we made a benchmark experiment in the refuge room near the main hall. The result shows that the radon emanating from underground water is one of the main radon sources in the underground air. The total underground ventilation rate is about 160,000 m$^3$/h fresh air with about 30 Bq/m$^3$ $^{222}$Rn from the bottom of the vertical tunnel after optimization, and 55,000 m$^3$/h is used for the ventilation in the main hall. Finally, the radon concentration inside the main hall decreased from 1600 Bq/m$^3$ to around 100 Bq/m$^3$. The suggested strategies for controlling radon concentration in the underground air are described in this paper.

Secure and Privacy-preserving Network Slicing in 3GPP 5G System Architecture

Network slicing in 3GPP 5G system architecture has introduced significant improvements in the flexibility and efficiency of mobile communication. However, this new functionality poses challenges in maintaining the privacy of mobile users, especially in multi-hop environments. In this paper, we propose a secure and privacy-preserving network slicing protocol (SPNS) that combines 5G network slicing and onion routing to address these challenges and provide secure and efficient communication. Our approach enables mobile users to select network slices while incorporating measures to prevent curious RAN nodes or external attackers from accessing full slice information. Additionally, we ensure that the 5G core network can authenticate all RANs, while avoiding reliance on a single RAN for service provision. Besides, SPNS implements end-to-end encryption for data transmission within the network slices, providing an extra layer of privacy and security. Finally, we conducted extensive experiments to evaluate the time cost of establishing network slice links under varying conditions. SPNS provides a promising solution for enhancing the privacy and security of communication in 5G networks.

Integrable Crosscap States: From Spin Chains to 1D Bose Gas

The notion of a crosscap state, a special conformal boundary state first defined in 2d CFT, was recently generalized to 2d massive integrable quantum field theories and integrable spin chains. It has been shown that the crosscap states preserve integrability. In this work, we first generalize this notion to the Lieb-Liniger model, which is a prototype of integrable non-relativistic many-body systems. We then show that the defined crosscap state preserves integrability. We derive the exact overlap formula of the crosscap state and the on-shell Bethe states. As a byproduct, we prove the conjectured overlap formula for integrable spin chains rigorously by coordinate Bethe ansatz. It turns out that the overlap formula for both models take the same form as a ratio of Gaudin-like determinants with a trivial prefactor. Finally we study quench dynamics of the crosscap state, which turns out to be surprisingly simple. The stationary density distribution is simply a constant. We also derive the analytic formula for dynamical correlation functions in the Tonks-Girardeau limit.

Holographic entanglement entropy in $T\overline{T}$-deformed AdS$_3$

In this work, we study the holographic entanglement entropy in AdS$_3$ gravity with the certain mixed boundary condition, which turns out to correspond to $T\bar{T}$-deformed 2D CFTs. By employing the Chern-Simons formalism and Wilson line technique, the holographic entanglement entropy in $T\bar{T}$-deformed BTZ black hole is obtained. We also get the same formula by calculating the RT surface. The holographic entanglement entropy agrees with the perturbation result derived from both $T\bar{T}$-deformed CFTs and cutoff AdS$_3$. Moreover, our result shows that the deformed entanglement entropy for large deformation parameter behaves like the entanglement entropy of CFT at zero temperature. We also consider the entanglement entropy of two intervals and study the effect of $T\bar{T}$ deformation on phase transition.

Study on the linearity of 20" dynode and MCP PMTs

The linearity of charge response is an important feature of photomultiplier tubes (PMT) for physics measurements, especially the newly developed 20" MCP-PMT. In this paper, in addition to the traditional method of double light sources, we applied another relative method of 20" PMT to 3" PMT to measure the linearity of the 20" dynode and MCP PMTs in pulse mode with a waveform digitizer. The measurements show a good linear response of 20" PMTs to 1,000 photoelectrons (p.e.). The correlations of the amplitude, rise-time, fall-time, FWHM, baseline recovery, overshoot, and late-pulse to the output charge of the 20" PMTs derived from the waveform analysis, where the MCP-PMT shows very different features compared to the dynode-PMT in particular.

Design of the PMT underwater cascade implosion protection system for JUNO

Photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) are widely used underwater in large-scale neutrino experiments. As a hollow glass spherelike structure, implosion is unavoidable during long-term operation under large water pressure. There is a possibility of cascade implosion to neighbor PMTs due to shockwave. Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory designed a protection structure for each 20-inch PMT, consisting of a top cover, a bottom cover, and their connection. This paper introduces the requirement and design of the PMT protection system, including the material selection, investigation of manufacture technology, and prototyping. Optimization and validation by simulation and underwater experiments are also presented.

Calibration Strategy of the JUNO-TAO Experiment

The Taishan Antineutrino Observatory (JUNO-TAO, or TAO) is a satellite detector for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). Located near the Taishan reactor, TAO independently measures the reactor's antineutrino energy spectrum with unprecedented energy resolution. To achieve this goal, energy response must be well calibrated. Using the Automated Calibration Unit (ACU) and the Cable Loop System (CLS) of TAO, multiple radioactive sources are deployed to various positions in the detector to perform a precise calibration of energy response. The non-linear energy response can be controlled within 0.6% with different energy points of these radioactive sources. It can be further improved by using $^{12}\rm B$ decay signals produced by cosmic muons. Through the energy non-uniformity calibration, residual non-uniformity is less than 0.2%. The energy resolution degradation and energy bias caused by the residual non-uniformity can be controlled within 0.05% and 0.3%, respectively. In addition, the stability of other detector parameters, such as the gain of each silicon photo-multiplier, can be monitored with a special ultraviolet LED calibration system.

Study of the front-end signal for the 3-inch PMTs instrumentation in JUNO

25,600 3-inch PMTs will be installed in Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) to achieve more precise energy calibration and to extend the physics detection potential. Performances of all bare PMTs have been characterized and these PMTs are being instrumented with the high voltage divider, underwater front-end cable, and connector. In this paper, we present a dedicated study on signal quality at different stages of the instrumentation. An optimized high voltage ratio was confirmed and finalized which improved the PMT transit time spread by 25%. The signal charge was attenuated by 22.5% (13.0%) in the 10 m (5 m) cable and it required the addition of 45 V (23 V) to compensate for the loss of PMT gain. There was a 1% overshoot following the PMT signal and no sign of reflection in the connector. A group of 16 3-inch PMTs with the full instrumentation was installed in the JUNO prototype detector together with a few 8-inch and 20-inch PMTs, which showed good stability and demonstrated a photon detection system with multiple types of PMTs.

Surface charges in Chern-Simons gravity with $T\bar{T}$ deformation

The $T\bar{T}$ deformed 2D CFTs correspond to AdS$_3$ gravity with Dirichlet boundary condition at finite cutoff or equivalently a mixed boundary condition at spatial infinity. In this work, we use the latter perspective and Chern-Simons formalism of AdS$_3$ gravity to construct the surface charges and associated algebra in $T\bar{T}$ deformed theories. Starting from the Bañados geometry, we obtain the Chern-Simons gauge fields for the $T\bar{T}$ deformed geometry, which are parametrized by two independent charges. With help of the mixed boundary condition, the residual gauge symmetries of the deformed gauge fields and the associated surface charges were obtained respectively. The charge algebra turns out to be a non-linear deformed Virasoro algebra, which was obtained in different way by applying the cutoff perspective. Finally, we propose a way to construct the time-independent charges from these surface charges and they satisfy the field-dependent Virasoro algebra.
