Globalization of group cohomology in the sense of Alvares-Alves-Redondo

Recently E. R. Alvares, M. M. Alves and M. J. Redondo introduced a cohomology for a group $G$ with values in a module over the partial group algebra $K_{\mathrm{par}}(G)$, which is different from the partial group cohomology defined earlier by the first two named authors of the present paper. Given a unital partial action $α$ of $G$ on a (unital) algebra $\mathcal{A}$ we consider $\mathcal{A}$ as a $K_{\mathrm{par}}(G)$-module in a natural way and study the globalization problem for the cohomology in the sense of Alvares-Alves-Redondo with values in $\mathcal{A}$. The problem is reduced to an extendibility property of cocycles. Furthermore, assuming that $\mathcal{A}$ is a product of blocks, we prove that any cocycle is globalizable, and globalizations of cohomologous cocycles are also cohomologous. As a consequence we obtain that the Alvares-Alves-Redondo cohomology group $H_{par}^n(G,\mathcal{A})$ is isomorphic to the usual cohomology group $H^n(G,\mathcal{M}(\mathcal{B}))$, where $\mathcal{M}(\mathcal{B})$ is the multiplier algebra of $\mathcal{B}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ is the algebra under the enveloping action of $α$.

The algebraic and geometric classification of nilpotent terminal algebras

We give algebraic and geometric classifications of $4$-dimensional complex nilpotent terminal algebras. Specifically, we find that, up to isomorphism, there are $41$ one-parameter families of $4$-dimensional nilpotent terminal (non-Leibniz) algebras, $18$ two-parameter families of $4$-dimensional nilpotent terminal (non-Leibniz) algebras, $2$ three-parameter families of $4$-dimensional nilpotent terminal (non-Leibniz) algebras, complemented by $21$ additional isomorphism classes. The corresponding geometric variety has dimension 17 and decomposes into 3 irreducible components determined by the Zariski closures of a one-parameter family of algebras, a two-parameter family of algebras and a three-parameter family of algebras. In particular, there are no rigid $4$-dimensional complex nilpotent terminal algebras.

Degenerations of nilpotent algebras

We give a complete description of degenerations of $3$-dimensional nilpotent algebras, $4$-dimensional nilpotent commutative algebras and $5$-dimensional nilpotent anticommutative algebras over $ \mathbb C$. In particular, we correct several mistakes from the paper `Contractions of low-dimensional nilpotent Jordan algebras' by Ancochea Bermúdez, Fresán and Margalef Bentabol.

Lie-type Derivations of Finitary Incidence Algebras

Let $P$ be an arbitrary partially ordered set, $R$ a commutative ring with identity and $FI(P,R)$ the finitary incidence algebra of $P$ over $R$. Under some natural assumption on $R$, we prove that each Lie-type derivation of $FI(P,R)$ is proper.

Higher Derivations of Finitary Incidence Algebras

Let $P$ be a partially ordered set, $R$ a commutative unital ring and $FI(P,R)$ the finitary incidence algebra of $P$ over $R$. We prove that each $R$-linear higher derivation of $FI(P,R)$ decomposes into the product of an inner higher derivation of $FI(P,R)$ and the higher derivation of $FI(P,R)$ induced by a higher transitive map on the set of segments of $P$.

Twisted partial actions and extensions of semilattices of groups by groups

We introduce the concept of an extension of a semilattice of groups $A$ by a group $G$ and describe all the extensions of this type which are equivalent to the crossed products $A*_ΘG$ by twisted partial actions $Θ$ of $G$ on $A$. As a consequence, we establish a one-to-one correspondence, up to an isomorphism, between twisted partial actions of groups on semilattices of groups and so-called Sieben twisted modules over $E$-unitary inverse semigroups.

Local Derivations of Finitary Incidence Algebras

Let $P$ be a partially ordered set, $R$ a commutative ring with identity and $FI(P,R)$ the finitary incidence algebra of $P$ over $R$. In this note we prove that each $R$-linear local derivation of $FI(P,R)$ is a derivation, which partially generalizes a result by Nowicki and Nowosad.

Reflectors and globalizations of partial actions of groups

Given a partial action $θ$ of a group on a set with an algebraic structure, we construct a reflector of $θ$ in the corresponding subcategory of global actions and study the question when this reflector is a globalization. In particular, if $θ$ is a partial action on an algebra from a variety ${\sf V}$, then we show that the problem reduces to the embeddability of certain generalized amalgam of ${\sf V}$-algebras associated with $θ$. As an application, we describe globalizable partial actions on semigroups, whose domains are ideals.

Jordan Isomorphisms of Finitary Incidence Algebras

Let $X$ be a partially ordered set, $R$ a commutative $2$-torsionfree unital ring and $FI(X,R)$ the finitary incidence algebra of $X$ over $R$. In this note we prove that each $R$-linear Jordan isomorphism of $FI(X,R)$ onto an $R$-algebra $A$ is the near-sum of a homomorphism and an anti-homomorphism.

Lie Derivations of Incidence Algebras

Let $X$ be a locally finite preordered set, $\mathcal R$ a commutative ring with identity and $I(X,\mathcal R)$ the incidence algebra of $X$ over $\mathcal R$. In this note we prove that each Lie derivation of $I(X,\mathcal R)$ is proper, provided that $\mathcal R$ is $2$-torsion free.

Jordan derivations of finitary incidence rings

Let $P$ be a preordered set, $R$ a ring and $FI(P,R)$ the finitary incidence ring of $P$ over $R$. We find a criterion for all Jordan derivations of $FI(P,R)$ to be derivations and generalize Theorem 3.3 from arXiv:1411.6123. In particular, we prove that each Jordan derivation of the ring $RFM_I(R)$ of row-finite $I\times I$-matrices over $R$ is a derivation, if $|I|>1$.
