Dyson's constant for the hypergeometric kernel

We study a Fredholm determinant of the hypergeometric kernel arising in the representation theory of the infinite-dimensional unitary group. It is shown that this determinant coincides with the Palmer-Beatty-Tracy tau function of a Dirac operator on the hyperbolic disk. Solution of the connection problem for Painleve VI equation allows to determine its asymptotic behavior up to a constant factor, for which a conjectural expression is given in terms of Barnes functions. We also present analogous asymptotic results for the Whittaker and Macdonald kernel.

On Painleve VI transcendents related to the Dirac operator on the hyperbolic disk

Dirac hamiltonian on the Poincare disk in the presence of an Aharonov-Bohm flux and a uniform magnetic field admits a one-parameter family of self-adjoint extensions. We determine the spectrum and calculate the resolvent for each element of this family. Explicit expressions for Green functions are then used to find Fredholm determinant representations for the tau function of the Dirac operator with two branch points on the Poincare disk. Isomonodromic deformation theory for the Dirac equation relates this tau function to a one-parameter class of solutions of the Painleve VI equation with $γ=0$. We analyze long distance behaviour of the tau function, as well as the asymptotics of the corresponding Painleve VI transcendents as $s\to 1$. Considering the limit of flat space, we also obtain a class of solutions of the Painleve V equation with $β=0$.

Tau functions for the Dirac operator on the cylinder

The goal of the present paper is to calculate the determinant of the Dirac operator with a mass in the cylindrical geometry. The domain of this operator consists of functions that realize a unitary one-dimensional representation of the fundamental group of the cylinder with $n$ marked points. The determinant represents a version of the isomonodromic $τ$-function, itroduced by M. Sato, T. Miwa and M. Jimbo. It is calculated by comparison of two sections of the $\mathrm{det}^*$-bundle over an infinite-dimensional grassmannian. The latter is composed of the spaces of boundary values of some local solutions to Dirac equation. The principal ingredients of the computation are the formulae for the Green function of the singular Dirac operator and for the so-called canonical basis of global solutions on the 1-punctured cylinder. We also derive a set of deformation equations satisfied by the expansion coefficients of the canonical basis in the general case and find a more explicit expression for the $τ$-function in the simplest case $n=2$.

Correlation function of the two-dimensional Ising model on a finite lattice. II

We calculate the two-point correlation function and magnetic susceptibility in the anisotropic 2D Ising model on a lattice with one infinite and the other finite dimension, along which periodic boundary conditions are imposed. Using exact expressions for a part of lattice form factors, we propose the formulas for arbitrary spin matrix elements, thus providing a possibility to compute all multipoint correlation functions in the anisotropic Ising model on cylindrical and toroidal lattices. The scaling limit of the corresponding expressions is also analyzed.

Spin matrix elements in 2D Ising model on the finite lattice

We present explicit formulas for all spin matrix elements in the 2D Ising model with the nearest neighbor interaction on the finite periodic square lattice. These expressions generalize the known results [Phys. Rev. D19, (1979), 2477--2479; hep-th/0107117; hep-th/0112167] (coincide with them in the appropriate limits) and fulfill the test of straightforward transfer matrix calculations for finite $N$.

Magnetic susceptibility of the 2D Ising model on a finite lattice

Form factor representation of the correlation function of the 2D Ising model on a cylinder is generalized to the case of arbitrary disposition of correlating spins. The magnetic susceptibility on a lattice, one of whose dimensions ($N$) is finite, is calculated in both para- and ferromagnetic regions of parameters of the model. The singularity structure of the susceptibility in the complex temperature plane at finite values of $N$ and the thermodynamic limit $N\to\infty$ are discussed.

Aharonov-Bohm effect on the Poincaré disk

We consider formal quantum hamiltonian of a charged particle on the Poincaré disk in the presence of an Aharonov-Bohm magnetic vortex and a uniform magnetic field. It is shown that this hamiltonian admits a four-parameter family of self-adjoint extensions. Its resolvent and the density of states are calculated for natural values of the extension parameters.

Transfer matrix eigenvectors of the Baxter-Bazhanov-Stroganov $τ_2$-model for N=2

We find a representation of the row-to-row transfer matrix of the Baxter-Bazhanov-Stroganov $τ_2$-model for N=2 in terms of an integral over two commuting sets of grassmann variables. Using this representation, we explicitly calculate transfer matrix eigenvectors and normalize them. It is also shown how form factors of the model can be expressed in terms of determinants and inverses of certain Toeplitz matrices.

Point interactions in one dimension and holonomic quantum fields

We introduce and study a family of quantum fields, associated to delta-interactions in one dimension. These fields are analogous to holonomic quantum fields of M. Sato, T. Miwa and M. Jimbo. Corresponding field operators belong to an infinite-dimensional representation of the group $SL(2,\Rb)$ in the Fock space of ordinary harmonic oscillator. We compute form factors of such fields and their correlation functions, which are related to the determinants of Schroedinger operators with a finite number of point interactions. It is also shown that these determinants coincide with tau functions, obtained through the trivialization of the $\mathrm{det}^*$-bundle over a Grassmannian associated to a family of Schroedinger operators.
