Baryon Diffusion Constant in Hot and Dense Hadronic Matter Based on an Event Generator Urasima

We generate the statistical ensembles in equilibrium with fixed temperature and chemical potential by imposing periodic boundary condition to the simulation of URASiMA(Ultra-Relativistic AA collision Simulator based on Multiple Scattering Algorithm). By using the generated ensembles, we investigate the temperature dependence and the chemical potential dependence of the nucleon diffusion constant of a dense and hot hadronic matter.

A Calculation of Baryon Diffusion Constant in Hot and Dense Hadronic Matter Based on an Event Generator URASiMA

We evaluate thermodynamical quantities and transport coefficients of a dense and hot hadronic matter based on an event generator URASiMA (Ultra-Relativistic AA collision Simulator based on Multiple Scattering Algorithm). The statistical ensembles in equilibrium with fixed temperature and chemical potential are generated by imposing periodic boundary condition to the simulation of URASiMA, where energy density and baryon number density is conserved. Achievement of the thermal equilibrium and the chemical equilibrium are confirmed by the common value of slope parameter in the energy distributions and the saturation of the numbers of contained particles, respectively. By using the generated ensembles, we investigate the temperature dependence and the chemical potential dependence of the baryon diffusion constant of a dense and hot hadronic matter.

Monte Carlo Renormalization Group analysis of QCD in two dimensional coupling space

We report our results of the Monte Carlo Renormalization Group analysis in two dimensional coupling space. The qualitative features of the RG flow are described with a phenomenological RG equation. The dependence on the lattice spacing for various actions provides the conditions to determine the parameters entering the RG equation.

Three dimensional relativistic hydrodynamical model for QGP gas

We numerically solve fully (3+1)-dimensional relativistic hydrodynamical equation coupled with the baryon number conservation law without spatial symmetry. We discuss the effect of transverse expansion based on the deviation our numerical result from Bjorken's scaling solution. We analyze the space-time evolution of the QGP gas in the case of non cylindrical initial conditions.

Mesons Above The Deconfining Transition

We analyze temporal and spatial meson correlators in quenched lattice QCD at T>0. Above T_c we find different masses and (spatial) screening masses, signals of plasma formation, and indication of persisting mesonic excitations.

Effects of Chemical Potential on Hadron Masses at Finite Temperature

We study the effects of the chemical potential on the $ρ$ meson mass at finite temperature. Our preliminary results show that some effects are seen in the vicinity of the phase transition point. Although the signal is still too noisy to obtain conclusive physical results within limited statistics, the mass susceptibility is consistent with zero.

Finite Temperature QCD on Anisotropic Lattices

We present results for mesonic propagators in temporal and spatial direction and for topological properties at T below and above the deconfining transition in quenched QCD. We use anisotropic lattices and Wilson fermions.

Scaling Analysis of Improved Actions for Pure SU(3) Gauge Theory

We have explored the behaviour of some improved actions based on a nonperturbative renormalization group (RG) analysis in coupling space. We calculate the RG flow in two-coupling space $(\boneone,\bonetwo)$ and examine the restoration of rotational invariance and the scaling of physical quantities $(T_c/\sqrtσ)$.

Monopoles and hadron spectrum in quenched QCD

We study quenched hadron spectra with Wilson fermion in abelian gauge fields extracted by maximal abelian projection and in fields induced by monopoles on $16^3 \times 32 $ and $ 12^3 \times 24$ lattices. Pion mass squared and quark mass defined through the axial Ward identity satisfy the PCAC relation. Gross features of the light hadron spectra are almost similar to those in SU(3) gauge fields if normalization is made by the square root of the string tension. It is also shown that no sizable dynamical mass generation is found in the present range of $κ$ when the monopole degree of freedom is removed from the abelian fields or from the SU(3) gauge fields.

Confinement and Topological Charge in the Abelian Gauge of QCD

We study the relation between instantons and monopoles in the abelian gauge. First, we investigate the monopole in the multi-instanton solution in the continuum Yang-Mills theory using the Polyakov gauge. At a large instanton density, the monopole trajectory becomes highly complicated, which can be regarded as a signal of monopole condensation. Second, we study instantons and monopoles in the SU(2) lattice gauge theory both in the maximally abelian (MA) gauge and in the Polyakov gauge. Using the $16^3 \times 4$ lattice, we find monopole dominance for instantons in the confinement phase even at finite temperatures. A linear-type correlation is found between the total monopole-loop length and the integral of the absolute value of the topological density (the total number of instantons and anti-instantons) in the MA gauge. We conjecture that instantons enhance the monopole-loop length and promote monopole condensation.

Finite Temperature Gauge Theory on Anisotropic Lattices

The finite temperature transition of QCD can be seen as a change in the structure of the hadrons and as a symmetry breaking transition -- a change in the structure of the vacuum. These phenomena are observed differently and carry complementary information. We aim at a correlated analysis involving hadronic correlators and the vacuum structure including field and density correlations, both non-trivial questions.

Search for Effective Lattice Action of Pure QCD

We study a coupling flow of pure QCD gauge system by using the Monte Carlo Renormalization Group method. A rough location of the renormalized trajectory in two coupling space is obtained. Also we compare 4 different actions; (a)standard Wilson, (b)Symanzik's, (c)Iwasaki's and (d)QCDTARO's. The rotational symmetry is restored better as an action gets close to the renormalized trajectory.

Correlation between Instantons and QCD-monopoles in the Abelian Gauge

The correlation between instantons and QCD-monopoles is studied both in the lattice gauge theory and in the continuum theory. From a simple topological consideration, instantons are expected to live only around the QCD-monopole trajectory in the abelian gauge. First, the instanton solution is analytically studied in the Polyakov-like gauge, where $A_4(x)$ is diagonalized. The world line of the QCD-monopole is found to be penetrate the center of each instanton inevitably. For the single-instanton solution, the QCD-monopole trajectory becomes a simple straight line. On the other hand, in the multi-instanton system, the QCD-monopole trajectory often has complicated topology including a loop or a folded structure, and is unstable against a small fluctuation of the location and the size of instantons. We also study the thermal instanton system in the Polyakov-like gauge. At the high-temperature limit, the monopole trajectory becomes straight lines in the temporal direction. The topology of the QCD-monopole trajectory is drastically changed at a high temperature. Second, the correlation between instantons and QCD-monopoles is studied in the maximally abelian (MA) gauge and/or the Polyakov gauge using the SU(2) lattice with $16^4$. The abelian link variable $u_μ(s)$ is decomposed into the singular (monopole-dominating) part $u_μ^{Ds}(s)$ and the regular (photon-dominating) part $u_μ^{Ph}(s)$. The instanton numbers, $Q({\rm Ds})$ and $Q({\rm Ph})$, are measured using the SU(2) variables, $U_μ^{Ds}(s)$ and $U_μ^{Ph}(s)$, which are reconstructed by multiplying the off-diagonal matter factor to $u_μ^{Ds}(s)$ and $u_μ^{Ph}(s)$, respectively. A strong correlation is found between $Q({\rm Ds})$ in the singular part and the ordinary topological charge $Q({\rm SU(2)})$ even after the Cabibbo-Marinari

QCD Monopoles and Chiral Symmetry Breaking on SU(2) Lattices

Pseudoscalar correlator is measured in a singular (monopole dominant) and a regular (photon dominant) parts of a maximal abelian field on SU(2) lattice. In the abelian field and its singular part, light pseudoscalar boson are observed similar to that in SU(2) field. On the other hand , the correlator in the regular part behaves like a product of free quark and anti-quark. Obtained results give a support for a possibility that monopole condensation is responsible for chiral symmetry breaking as well as confinement. Correlation between monopoles and instantons is also investigated by observing topological charge. A field including monopoles carrys topological charge with good correlation to that in original SU(2) gauge field while that including only photons shows no topological charge.

Systematic study of autocorrelation time in pure SU(3) lattice gauge theory

Results of our autocorrelation measurement performed on Fujitsu AP1000 are reported. We analyze (i) typical autocorrelation time, (ii) optimal mixing ratio between overrelaxation and pseudo-heatbath and (iii) critical behavior of autocorrelation time around cross-over region with high statistic in wide range of $β$ for pure SU(3) lattice gauge theory on $8^4$, $16^4$ and $32^4$ lattices. For the mixing ratio K, small value (3-7) looks optimal in the confined region, and reduces the integrated autocorrelation time by a factor 2-4 compared to the pseudo-heatbath. On the other hand in the deconfined phase, correlation times are short, and overrelaxation does not seem to matter For a fixed value of K(=9 in this paper), the dynamical exponent of overrelaxation is consistent with 2 Autocorrelation measurement of the topological charge on $32^3 \times 64$ lattice at $β$ = 6.0 is also briefly mentioned.

Scaling Study of Pure Gauge Lattice QCD by Monte Carlo Renormalization Group Method

The scaling behavior of pure gauge SU(3) in the region $β=5.85 - 7.60$ is examined by a Monte Carlo Renormalization Group analysis. The coupling shifts induced by factor 2 blocking are measured both on 32$^4$ and 16$^4$ lattices with high statistics. A systematic deviation from naive 2-loop scaling is clearly seen. The mean field and effective coupling constant schemes explain part, but not all of the deviation. It can be accounted for by a suitable change of coupling constant, including a correction term ${\cal O}(g^7)$ in the 2-loop lattice $β$-function. Based on this improvement, $\sqrtσ/Λ_{\overline {MS}}^{n_f=0}$ is estimated to be $2.2(\pm 0.1)$ from the analysis of the string tension $σ$.
