The multiloop sunset to all orders

We derive exact, convergent representations of multiloop sunset Feynman integrals in two dimensions for arbitrary mass configurations and all loop orders valid for large Euclidean momentum. The integrals are expressed as sums of symmetric polynomials in logarithmic mass ratios, normalized by the external momentum squared, with coefficients determined by analytic series expansions. For the equal-mass case, we establish a dimension-lowering relation expressing the $L$ loop sunset integrals in $D+2$ as the one in $D$ dimensions acted on a differential operator of order $L-1$. These representations are free of complicated transcendental functions, making them well-suited to both formal analysis and high-precision numerical evaluation. The two-dimensional results serve as boundary conditions for dimension-shifting relations, enabling systematic reconstruction of four-dimensional sunset integrals via analytic continuation to $D = 4 - 2ε$.

Fano and Reflexive Polytopes from Feynman Integrals

We classify the Fano and reflexive polytopes that arise from quasi-finite Feynman integrals. These polytopes appear as scaled Minkowski sums of the Newton polytopes associated with the Symanzik graph polynomials. For one-loop graphs and multiloop sunset graphs, we identify the Fano and reflexive cases by computing the number of interior points from the associated bivariate Ehrhart polynomials. More generally, we utilize the properties of Symanzik polynomials and their symmetries to conduct a direct search over all Feynman graphs in generic kinematics with up to ten edges and nine loops. We find that such cases are remarkably sparse: for example, we find only two two-dimensional reflexive polytopes, three three-dimensional reflexive polytopes, and four three-dimensional Fano polytopes. We also reveal a surprising feature of one-loop $N$-gon integrals in higher dimensions: their associated reflexive polytopes encode degenerate Calabi--Yau $(N-2)$-folds. We further analyze the geometric structures encoded by these polytopes and exhibit explicit connections with del Pezzo surfaces, $K3$ surfaces, and Calabi--Yau threefolds. Since reflexive polytopes naturally correspond to Calabi--Yau varieties, our classification demonstrates that quasi-finite Feynman integrals, with reflexive polytopes, are intrinsically linked to Calabi--Yau period integrals.

Picard-Fuchs Equations of Twisted Differential forms associated to Feynman Integrals

Dimensionally or analytically regulated Feynman integrals lead to relative twisted period integrals. We present a recent extension of the Griffiths-Dwork pole reduction algorithm for deriving the D-module of differential operators acting on the twisted differential forms from Feynman integrals. We illustrate the application of this algorithm by providing twisted Picard-Fuchs operators for hypergeometric, elliptic and Calabi-Yau differential motives arising from families of Feynman integrals.

The elliptic three-loop integrals of hadronic vacuum polarization in chiral perturbation theory

This work presents a detailed account of the Feynman integrals required for the three-loop hadronic vacuum polarization calculation performed in arXiv:2510.12885. We explain how to compute each of the three-loop integrals, and outline the mathematical framework underlying their evaluation. This culminates in a practical numerical implementation that enables fast and accurate evaluation of these integrals for arbitrary complex values of the photon virtuality.

The three-loop hadronic vacuum polarization in chiral perturbation theory

Hadronic vacuum polarization is a key observable in low-energy QCD, and is famously the greatest contributor to the theoretical uncertainty in the muon magnetic moment. Its long-distance part in particular is a weak point of the current best lattice QCD computations. In this summary of our recent work, we present its computation to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory, capturing the lowest-energy hadronic contributions to unprecedented precision and opening the door for improved control over lattice finite volume effects. The result depends on a small number of low-energy constants, whose values are mostly under good control. This calculation pushes the envelope of high-order chiral perturbation theory and of the evaluation of multiloop integrals with massive propagators, thereby extending the toolbox for precision calculations in very low-energy QCD.

Hadronic vacuum polarization to three loops in chiral perturbation theory

Hadronic vacuum polarization at low virtualities limits the precision of experimental tests of the standard model via important physical observables. Here we compute that effect in two-flavor chiral perturbation theory to three loops. Among the master integrals that describe the amplitude, six are elliptic functions of the momentum. Of these five are new to this work, although all can be related to the three-loop sunset integral. The renormalizability of the amplitude hinges on relations between the master integrals that were not previously known and that are not consequences of the integration-by-parts reduction. Our result is intended to serve as a starting point for phenomenological calculations, as well as the computation of finite-volume corrections in lattice QCD.

HEFT Numerators from Kinematic Algebra

We derive the kinematic numerator factors for heavy-mass effective field theory from the field theory limit of the string theory vertex operator kinematic algebra introduced in arXiv:1806.09584. The kinematic numerators are derived as correlators of nested commutators of gluon vertex operators evaluated between massive tachyonic vertex operators. The resulting numerators are given by products of structure constants of the vertex operator algebra which yield gauge invariant expressions. The computation of the nested commutators leads to a natural organisation in the form of rooted trees, endowed with an order that facilitates the enumeration of the various contributions. This kinematic algebra gives a string theory understanding of the field theory fusion rules for constructing the heavy-mass effective field theory numerator of arXiv:2104.11206 and arXiv:2111.15649.

Schwarzschild metric from Scattering Amplitudes to all orders in $G_N$

We apply a formulation of Einstein's general relativity with only cubic interactions for deriving the metric of a Schwarzschild black hole to all orders in perturbation theory. This cubic interactions formulation coupled to effective worldline action of a massive point particle allows to derive a recursion relation for the form factors of the off-shell graviton emission current. The unique solution to the recursion relation leads to the Schwarzschild black-hole solution in four dimensions. This provides the first derivation of the black hole metric from a matter source to all orders in perturbation theory from an amplitude approach.

Schwarzschild geodesics from Scattering Amplitudes to all orders in $G_N$

The dynamics of the leading self-force (0SF) order, corresponding to the geodesic motion of a light body in the exact background of a heavy body, are explicitly derived for the first time using a flat space scattering amplitude-based approach. This is achieved by utilising the cubic formulation of Einstein's general relativity coupled to the effective worldline action of massive point particles, which was employed to derive the Schwarzschild black hole metric in arXiv:2405.14421.

Algorithm for differential equations for Feynman integrals in general dimensions

We present an algorithm for determining the minimal order differential equations associated to a given Feynman integral in dimensional or analytic regularisation. The algorithm is an extension of the Griffiths-Dwork pole reduction adapted to the case of twisted differential forms. In dimensional regularisation, we demonstrate the applicability of this algorithm by explicitly providing the inhomogeneous differential equations for the multiloop two-point sunset integrals: up to 20 loops for the equal mass case, the generic mass case at two- and three-loop orders. Additionally, we derive the differential operators for various infrared-divergent two-loop graphs. In the analytic regularisation case, we apply our algorithm for deriving a system of partial differential equations for regulated Witten diagrams, which arise in the evaluation of cosmological correlators of conformally coupled $ϕ^4$ theory in four-dimensional de Sitter space.

Scalaron dynamics from UV to IR

We consider a scenario where the scalaron of $f({\cal R})$ models is related to the volume modulus of string compactifications leaving only one scalar degree of freedom at low energy. The coefficient of the leading curvature squared contribution to the low energy effective action of gravity determines the mass of the scalaron. We impose that this mass is small enough to allow for the scalaron to drive Starobinski's inflation. After inflation, the renormalisation group evolution of the couplings of the $f({\cal R})$ theory, viewed as a scalar-tensor theory, provides the link with the Infra-Red regime. We consider a scenario where the corrections to the mass of the scalaron are large and reduce it below the electron mass in the Infra-Red, so that the scalaron plays a central role in the low energy dynamics of the Universe. In particular this leads to a connection between the scalaron mass and the measured vacuum energy provided its renormalisation group running at energies higher than the electron mass never drops below the present day value of the dark energy.

The Subtle Simplicity of Cosmological Correlators

We investigate cosmological correlators for conformally coupled $ϕ^4$ theory in four-dimensional de Sitter space. These \textit{in-in} correlators differ from scattering amplitudes for massless particles in flat space due to the spacelike structure of future infinity in de Sitter. They also require a regularization which preserves de Sitter-invariance, which makes the flat space limit subtle to define at loop-level. Nevertheless we find that up to two loops, the \textit{in-in} correlators are structurally simpler than the wave function and have the same transcendentality as flat space amplitudes. Moreover, we show that their loop integrands can be recast in terms of flat space integrands and can be derived from a novel recursion relation.

Effective homology and periods of complex projective hypersurfaces

We introduce a new algorithm for computing the periods of a smooth complex projective hypersurface. The algorithm intertwine with a new method for computing an explicit basis of the singular homology of the hypersurface. It is based on Picard-Lefschetz theory and relies on the computation of the monodromy action induced by a one-parameter family of hyperplane sections on the homology of a given section. We provide a SageMath implementation. For example, on a laptop, it makes it possible to compute the periods of a smooth complex quartic surface with hundreds of digits of precision in typically an hour.

The Relation Between KMOC and Worldline Formalisms for Classical Gravity

We demonstrate the equivalence between KMOC and worldline formalisms for classical general relativity, highlighting how the Keldysh-Schwinger in-in formalism is contained in both of them even though the KMOC representation conventionally leads to the evaluation of scattering amplitudes with Feynman propagators. The relationship between the two approaches is illustrated in detail for the momentum kick at second Post-Minkowskian order.

Classical Observables from the Exponential Representation of the Gravitational S-Matrix

By combining the KMOC-formalism with the exponential representation of the scattering matrix we show that the two-body scattering angle is given by the corresponding matrix element of the exponential representation. This holds to all orders in the Post-Minkowskian expansion of gravity when restricted to the conservative sector. Once gravitational radiation is taken into account new terms correcting this relationship appear starting at fourth Post-Minkowskian order. A systematic expansion of the momentum kick is provided to any order, thus illustrating the iterative structure that partly recycles terms from lower orders in the Post-Minkowskian expansion. We provide explicit results for this computation to fourth Post-Minkowskian order, the first complete calculation at this order based on scattering amplitudes.

Bulk Landau Pole and Unitarity of Dual Conformal Field Theory

The singlet sector of the $O(N)$ $ϕ^4$-model in AdS$_4$ at large-$N$, gives rise to a dual conformal field theory on the conformal boundary of AdS$_4$, which is a deformation of the generalized free field. We identify and compute an AdS$_4$ three-point one-loop fish diagram that controls the exact large-$N$ dimensions and operator product coefficients (OPE) for all ``double trace'' operators as a function of the renormalized $ϕ^4$-couplings. We find that the space of $ϕ^4$-coupling is compact with a boundary at the bulk Landau pole. The dual CFT is unitary only in an interval of ${\it negative}$ couplings bounded by the Landau pole where the lowest OPE coefficient diverges.

Algorithms for minimal Picard-Fuchs operators of Feynman integrals

In even space-time dimensions the multi-loop Feynman integrals are integrals of rational function in projective space. By using an algorithm that extends the Griffiths--Dwork reduction for the case of projective hypersurfaces with singularities, we derive Fuchsian linear differential equations, the Picard--Fuchs equations, with respect to kinematic parameters for a large class of massive multi-loop Feynman integrals. With this approach we obtain the differential operator for Feynman integrals to high multiplicities and high loop orders. Using recent factorisation algorithms we give the minimal order differential operator in most of the cases studied in this paper. Amongst our results are that the order of Picard--Fuchs operator for the generic massive two-point $n-1$-loop sunset integral in two-dimensions is $2^{n}-\binom{n+1}{\left\lfloor \frac{n+1}{2}\right\rfloor }$ supporting the conjecture that the sunset Feynman integrals are relative periods of Calabi--Yau of dimensions $n-2$. We have checked this explicitly till six loops. As well, we obtain a particular Picard--Fuchs operator of order 11 for the massive five-point tardigrade non-planar two-loop integral in four dimensions for generic mass and kinematic configurations, suggesting that it arises from $K3$ surface with Picard number 11. We determine as well Picard--Fuchs operators of two-loop graphs with various multiplicities in four dimensions, finding Fuchsian differential operators with either Liouvillian or elliptic solutions.

Motivic geometry of two-loop Feynman integrals

We study the geometry and Hodge theory of the cubic hypersurfaces attached to two-loop Feynman integrals for generic physical parameters. We show that the Hodge structure attached to planar two-loop Feynman graphs decomposes into mixed Tate pieces and the Hodge structures of families of hyperelliptic, elliptic, or rational curves depending on the space-time dimension. For two-loop graphs with a small number of edges, we give more precise results. In particular, we recover a result of Bloch arXiv:2105.06132 that in the well-known double box example, there is an underlying family of elliptic curves, and we give a concrete description of these elliptic curves. We argue that the motive for the non-planar two-loop tardigrade graph is that of a K3 surface of Picard number 11 and determine the generic lattice polarization. Lastly, we show that generic members of the ice cream cone family of graph hypersurfaces correspond to pairs of sunset Calabi--Yau varieties.
