Next to SV resummed prediction for pseudoscalar Higgs boson production at NNLO$+\overline{\text{NNLL}}$

We present first results on the resummation of Next-to-Soft Virtual (NSV) logarithms for the threshold production of pseudoscalar Higgs boson through gluon fusion at the LHC. These results are presented after resumming the NSV logarithms of the kind ${\log}^{i}(1-z)$ to $\overline{\text{NNLL}}$ accuracy and matching them systematically to the fixed order NNLO cross-sections. These results are obtained using collinear factorization, renormalization group invariance and recent developments in the NSV resummation techniques. The phenomenological implications of these NSV resummed results for 13 TeV LHC are studied and it is observed that these NSV logarithms are quite large. We also evaluate theory uncertainties and find that the renormalization scale uncertainties get reduced further with the inclusion of NSV corrections at various orders in QCD. We further study the impact of QCD corrections on mixed scalar-pseudoscalar states for different values of the mixing angle $\alpha$.

Two loop QCD amplitudes for di-pseudo scalar production in gluon fusion

We compute the radiative corrections to the four-point amplitude $g+g \rightarrow A+A$ in massless Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) up to order $a_s^4$ in perturbation theory. We used the effective field theory that describes the coupling of pseudo-scalars to gluons and quarks directly, in the large top quark mass limit. Due to the CP odd nature of the pseudo-scalar Higgs boson, the computation involves careful treatment of chiral quantities in dimensional regularisation. The ultraviolet finite results are shown to be consistent with the universal infrared structure of QCD amplitudes. The infrared finite part of these amplitudes constitutes the important component of any next to next to leading order corrections to observables involving pair of pseudo-scalars at the Large Hadron Collider.

NNLO QCD corrections to production of a spin-2 particle with non-universal couplings in the DY process

We study the phenomenological impact of the interaction of spin-2 fields with those of the Standard Model in a model independent framework up to next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics. We use the invariant mass distribution of the pair of leptons produced at the LHC to demonstrate this. A minimal scenario where the spin-2 fields couple to two gauge invariant operators with different coupling strengths has been considered. These operators being not conserved show very different ultraviolet behaviour increasing the searches options of spin-2 particles at the colliders. We find that our results using the higher order quantum corrections stabilise the predictions with respect to renormalisation and factorisation scales. We also find that corrections are appreciable which need to be taken into account in such searches at the colliders.

NNLO QCD Corrections to the Drell-Yan Cross Section in Models of TeV-Scale Gravity

The first results on the complete next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) Quantum Chromodynamic (QCD) corrections to the production of di-leptons at hadron colliders in large extra dimension models with spin-2 particles are reported in this article. In particular, we have computed these corrections to the invariant mass distribution of the di-leptons taking into account all the partonic subprocesses that contribute at NNLO. In these models, spin-2 particles couple through the energy-momentum tensor of the Standard Model (SM) with the universal coupling strength. The tensorial nature of the interaction and the presence of both quark annihilation and gluon fusion channels at the Born level make it challenging computationally and interesting phenomenologically. We have demonstrated numerically the importance of our results at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies. The two loop corrections contribute an additional 10\% to the total cross section. We find that the QCD corrections are not only large but also important to make the predictions stable under renormalisation and factorisation scale variations providing an opportunity to stringently constrain the parameters of the models with a spin-2 particle.

Three loop form factors of a massive spin-2 particle with nonuniversal coupling

We investigate the interaction of spin-2 fields with those of Standard Model in a model independent framework. We have considered interactions where the spin-2 fields couple to two sets of gauge invariant tensorial operators that are not conserved unlike the energy momentum tensor with different coupling strengths. Such interactions not only change the ultraviolet behaviour of the couplings but also expand the scope of the searches of spin-2 particles at the colliders. We present all the relevant renormalisation constants up to three loop level in QCD and also the form factors that contribute to potential observables. This sets the ground to investigate the phenomenological consequences of these interactions with spin-2 fields through more than one tensorial operator.

Pseudo-scalar Higgs boson production at N$^3$LO$_{\text{A}}$+N$^3$LL$^\prime$

We consider the production of a pseudo-scalar particle $A$ at the LHC, and present accurate theoretical predictions for its inclusive cross section in gluon fusion. The prediction is based on combining fixed-order perturbation theory and all-order threshold resummation. At fixed order we include the exact next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) plus an approximate next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO$_{\rm A}$) which is based on the recent computation at this order for the scalar case. We then add threshold resummation at next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic accuracy (N$^3$LL$^\prime$). Various forms of threshold resummation are considered, differing by the treatment of subleading terms, allowing a robust estimate of the theoretical uncertainties due to missing higher orders. With particular attention to pseudo-scalar masses of $200$ GeV and $750$ GeV, we also observe that perturbative convergence is much improved when resummation is included. Additionally, results obtained with threshold resummation in direct QCD are compared with analogous results as computed in soft-collinear effective theory, which turn out to be in good agreement. We provide precise predictions for pseudo-scalar inclusive cross section at $13$ TeV LHC for a wide range of masses. The results are available through updated versions of the public codes ggHiggs and TROLL.

Two-loop QCD Correction to Massive Spin-2 Resonance $ \to q ~ \bar{q} ~ g $

Two-loop QCD correction to massive spin-2 Graviton decaying to $q ~ + ~ \bar{q}~ + ~g$ is presented considering a generic universal spin-2 coupling to the SM through the conserved energy-momentum tensor. Such a massive spin-2 particle can arise in extra-dimensional models. The ultraviolet and infrared structure of the QCD amplitudes are studied. In dimensional regularisation, the infrared pole structure is in agreement with Catani's proposal, confirming the universal factorization property of QCD amplitudes, even with the spin-2 tensorial coupling. This computation now completes the full two-loop QCD corrections for the production of a spin-2 in association with a jet.

Pseudo-scalar Form Factors at Three Loops in QCD

The coupling of a pseudo-scalar Higgs boson to gluons is mediated through a heavy quark loop. In the limit of large quark mass, it is described by an effective Lagrangian that only admits light degrees of freedom. In this effective theory, we compute the three-loop massless QCD corrections to the form factor that describes the coupling of a pseudo-scalar Higgs boson to gluons. Due to the axial anomaly, the pseudo-scalar operator for the gluonic field strength mixes with the divergence of the axial vector current. Working in dimensional regularization and using the 't~Hooft-Veltman prescription for the axial vector current, we compute the three-loop pseudo-scalar form factors for massless quarks and gluons. Using the universal infrared factorization properties, we independently derive the three-loop operator mixing and finite operator renormalisation from the renormalisation group equation for the form factors, thereby confirming recent results in the operator product expansion. The finite part of the three-loop form factor is an important ingredient to the precise prediction of the pseudo-scalar Higgs boson production cross section at hadron colliders. We discuss potential applications and derive the hard matching coefficient in soft-collinear effective theory.

Neutral Triple Vector Boson Production in Randall-Sundrum Model at the LHC

In this paper, triple neutral electroweak gauge boson production processes, viz. γγγ, γγZ, γZZ and ZZZ productions merged to 1-jet have been studied at the leading order in QCD in the context of Randall-Sundrum model at the LHC with center of mass energy \sqrt{S}=13 TeV. Decay of Z bosons into lepton-pairs has been considered. We present a selection of kinematical distributions matched to parton shower and show their deviation from the SM results as a result of the RS model. The uncertainties as a result of the factorization and renormalization scales are also presented.

Pseudo-scalar Higgs Boson Production at Threshold N$^3$LO and N$^3$LL QCD

We present the first results on the production of pseudo-scalar through gluon fusion at the LHC to N$^3$LO in QCD taking into account only soft gluon effects. We have used the effective Lagrangian that describes the coupling of pseudo-scalar with the gluons in the large top quark mass limit. We have used recently available quantities namely the three loop pseudo-scalar form factor and the third order universal soft function in QCD to achieve this. Along with the fixed order results, we also present the process dependent resummation coefficient for threshold resummation to N$^3$LL in QCD. Phenomenological impact of these threshold N$^3$LO corrections to pseudo-scalar production at the LHC is presented and their role to reduce the renormalisation scale dependence is demonstrated.

Spin-2 Form Factors at Three Loop in QCD

Spin-2 fields are often candidates in physics beyond the Standard Model namely the models with extra-dimensions where spin-2 Kaluza-Klein gravitons couple to the fields of the SM. Also, in the context of Higgs searches, spin-2 fields have been studied as an alternative to the scalar Higgs boson. In this article, we present the complete three loop QCD radiative corrections to the spin-2 quark-antiquark and spin-2 gluon-gluon form factors in SU(N) gauge theory with $n_f$ light flavors. These form factors contribute to both quark-antiquark and gluon-gluon initiated processes involving spin-2 particle in the hadronic reactions at the LHC. We have studied the structure of infrared singularities in these form factors up to three loop level using Sudakov integro-differential equation and found that the anomalous dimensions originating from soft and collinear regions of the loop integrals coincide with those of the electroweak vector boson and Higgs form factors confirming the universality of the infrared singularities in QCD amplitudes.

Two-Loop QCD Corrections to Higgs $\rightarrow b + \bar{b} + g$ Amplitude

Exclusive observables involving Higgs boson in association with jets are often well suited to study the Higgs boson properties. They are rates involving cuts on the final state jets or differential distributions of rapidity, transverse momentum of the observed Higgs boson. While they get dominant contributions from gluon initiated partonic subprocesses, it is important to include the subdominant ones coming from other channels. In this article, we study one such channel namely the Higgs production in association with a jet in bottom anti-bottom annihilation process. We compute relevant amplitude $H\rightarrow b+\overline b+g$ up to two loop level in QCD where Higgs couples to bottom quark through Yukawa coupling. We use projection operators to obtain the coefficients for each tensorial structure appearing in this process. We have demonstrated that the renormalized amplitudes do have the right infrared structure predicted by the QCD factorization in dimensional regularization. The finite parts of the one and two loop amplitudes are presented after subtracting the infrared poles using Catani's subtraction operators.

RS resonance in di-final state production at the LHC to NLO+PS accuracy

We study the di-final state processes ($\ell^+ \ell^-$, $γγ$, $ZZ$, $W^+ W^-$) to NLO+PS accuracy, as a result of both the SM and RS Kaluza-Klein graviton excitations. Decay of the electroweak gauge boson final states to different leptonic states are included at the showering stage. A selection of the results has been presented with PDF and scale uncertainties for various distributions. Using the di-lepton and di-photon final states, we present the search sensitivity, for the $14$ TeV LHC at $50$ fb$^{-1}$ luminosity.

Two-Loop QCD Correction to massive spin-2 resonance $\rightarrow$ 3 gluons

We present the ${\cal O}(α_s^3)$ virtual QCD corrections to the process $h \rightarrow g+g+g$ due to interference of born and two-loop amplitudes, where $h$ is a massive spin-2 particle and $g$ is the gluon. We assume that the SM fields couple to $h$ through the SM energy momentum tensor. Our result constitutes one of the ingredients to full NNLO QCD contribution to production of a massive spin-2 particle along with a jet in the scattering process at the LHC. In particular, this massive spin-2 could be a KK mode of a ADD graviton in large extra dimensional model or a RS KK mode in warped extra dimensional model or a generic massive spin-2. In addition, it provides an opportunity to study the ultraviolet and infrared structures of QCD amplitudes involving tensorial coupling resulting from energy momentum operator. Using dimensional regularization, we find that infrared poles of this amplitude are in agreement with the proposal by Catani confirming the factorization property of QCD amplitudes with tensorial insertion.

Quark and gluon spin-2 form factors to two-loops in QCD

We present complete two-loop radiative corrections to the graviton-quark-antiquark form factor G^* \rightarrow q \overline q and graviton-gluon-gluon form factor G^* \rightarrow g g in SU(N) gauge theory with n_f light flavours using d-dimensional regularisation to all orders in \varepsilon=d-4. This is an important ingredient to next-to-next-to-leading order QCD corrections to hadronic scattering processes in models with large extra-dimensions where Kaluza-Klein graviton modes couple to Standard Model fields. We show that these form factors obey Sudakov integro-differential equation and the resulting cusp, collinear and soft anomalous dimensions coincide with those of electroweak vector boson and gluon form factors. We also find the universal behaviour of the infrared singularities in accordance with the proposal by Catani.

Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order QCD Corrections in Models of TeV-Scale Gravity

We compute the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the graviton production in models of TeV-scale gravity, within the soft-virtual approximation. For the Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali (ADD) model we evaluate the contribution to the Drell-Yan cross section, and we present distributions for the di-lepton invariant mass at the LHC with a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_H}=14\text{TeV}$. We find a large $K$ factor ($K\simeq 1.8$) for large values of invariant mass, which is the region where the ADD graviton contribution dominates the cross section. The increase in the cross section with respect to the previous order result is larger than $10\%$ in the same invariant mass region. We also observe a substantial reduction in the scale uncertainty. For the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model we computed the total single graviton production cross section at the LHC. We find an increase between $10\%$ and $13\%$ with respect to the next-to-leading order prediction, depending on the model parameters. We provide an analytic expression for the NNLO $K$ factor as a function of the lightest RS graviton mass.
