Neutral triple electroweak gauge boson production in the large extra-dimension model at the LHC

We study the prospects of probing large extra dimension model at the LHC through neutral triple gauge boson production processes. In theories with extra dimensions these processes result from the exchange of a tower of massive graviton modes between the SM particles. We consider γγγ, γγZ, γZ Z and ZZZ production processes, and present our results for various kinematic distributions at the LHC for \sqrt{S}=14 TeV.

Associated production of vector gauge boson & graviton to NLO QCD

In this talk, we discuss the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the associated production of the vector gauge boson (Z/W\pm) and the graviton in the large extra dimension model, namely the ADD model, at the LHC. After a brief review of the ADD model, we present the importance of QCD correction to these preferred processes and the impact of the QCD corrections on the total cross sections as well as the differential distributions of the gauge bosons. The dependence of the cross sections on the arbitrary factorization scale is studied and the reduction in the scale uncertainties at NLO level is shown. The ultraviolet sensitivity of the theoretical prediction is also presented.

${\cal {O}}(α_s^2)$ QCD corrections to the resonant sneutrino / slepton production at LHC

We present a complete next to next to leading order QCD corrections to the resonant production of sneutrino and charged slepton at the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider within the context of R-parity violating supersymmetric model. We have demonstrated the role of NNLO QCD corrections in reducing uncertainties resulting from renormalisation and factorisation scales and thereby making our predictions reliable.

Spin-analysis of s-channel diphoton resonances at the LHC

The high mass neutral quantum states envisaged by theories of physics beyond the standard model can at the hadron colliders reveal themselves through their decay into a pair of photons. Once such a peak in the diphoton invariant mass distribution is discovered, the determination of its spin through the distinctive photon angular distributions is needed in order to identify the associated nonstandard dynamics. We here discuss the discrimination of the spin-2 Randall-Sundrum graviton excitation against the hypothesis of a spin-0 exchange giving the same number of events under the peak, by means of the angular analysis applied to resonant diphoton events expected to be observed at the LHC. The spin-0 hypothesis is modelled by an effective interaction of a high mass gauge singlet scalar particle interacting with the standard model fields. The basic observable of our analysis is the symmetrically integrated angular asymmetry $A_{CE}$, calculated for both graviton and scalar s-channel exchanges to next-to-leading order in QCD.

Graviton plus vector boson production to NLO in QCD at the LHC

We present the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the associated production of the vector gauge boson ($Z/W^\pm$) and the graviton in the large extra dimension model at the LHC. We estimate the impact of the QCD corrections on the total cross sections as well as the differential distributions of the gauge bosons and find that they are significant. We also study the dependence of the cross sections on the arbitrary factorization scale and show the reduction in the scale uncertainties at NLO level. Further, we discuss the ultraviolet sensitivity of the theoretical predictions.

NNLO QCD corrections to the resonant sneutrino/slepton production at Hadron Colliders

We present a complete next to next to leading order QCD corrections to the resonant sneutrino and charged slepton production cross sections at hadronic colliders such as the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider within the context of $R$-parity violating supersymmetric model. We have demonstrated the role of these corrections in reducing uncertainties resulting from renormalisation and factorisation scales and thereby making our predictions reliable. We have incorporated soft gluon effects at $N^3LO$ level in order to study the stability of our results under perturbation. The NNLO corrections are found to be large and significant. The results obtained in this article are also applicable to resonance production of any color-neutral scalar.

Vector boson production in association with KK modes of the ADD model to NLO in QCD at LHC

Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the associated production of vector boson (Z/W) with the the Kaluza-Klein modes of the graviton in large extra dimensional model at the LHC, are presented. We have obtained various kinematic distributions using a Monte Carlo code which is based on the two cut off phase space slicing method that handles soft and collinear singularities appearing at NLO level. We estimate the impact of the QCD corrections on various observables and find that they are significant. We also show the reduction in factorization scale uncertainty when QCD corrections are included.

Di-jet production at the LHC through unparticles

We report the phenomenological impact of unparticles in the production of di-jet at the LHC. We compute the scalar, spin-1 and spin-2 unparticle contributions to the dijet cross sections and present our results in different kinematical distributions. We find that the scalar unparticle contribution is dominant over that of the spin-1 and spin-2 unparticles for the same coupling values.

Direct photon pair production at the LHC to order alpha_s in TeV scale gravity models

The first results on next-to-leading order QCD corrections to production of direct photon pairs in hadronic collisions in the large extra dimension models- ADD and RS are presented. Various kinematical distributions are obtained to order alpha_s in QCD by taking into account all the parton level subprocesses. Our Monte Carlo based code incorporates all the experimental cuts suitable for physics studies at the LHC. We estimate the impact of the QCD corrections on various observables and find that they are significant. We also show the reduction in factorisation scale uncertainity when order alpha_s effects are included.

Unparticles in diphoton production to NLO in QCD at the LHC

We compute to next-to-leading order in QCD the tensor unparticle contribution to the diphoton production at the LHC, wherein the unparticle sector is a consequence of (a) scale invariance but not full conformal invariance and (b) conformal invariance. We use the semi-analytical two cutoff phase space slicing method to handle the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ corrections to the $p p \to γγX$ and show that our results are insensitive to the soft and collinear cutoffs. In order to avoid the contribution of the photons due to fragmentation, we employ the smooth cone isolation criterion. Significance of the QCD corrections to the diphoton events including unparticles is highlighted.

Diphoton signals in theories with large extra dimensions to NLO QCD at hadron colliders

We present a full next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to diphoton production at the hadron colliders in both standard model and ADD model. The invariant mass and rapidity distributions of the diphotons are obtained using a semi-analytical two cut-off phase space slicing method which allows for a successful numerical implementation of various kinematical cuts used in the experiments. The fragmentation photons are systematically removed using smooth-cone-isolation cuts on the photons. The NLO QCD corrections not only stabilise the perturbative predictions but also enhance the production cross section significantly.

Unparticle physics in diphoton production at the CERN LHC

We have considered the di-photon production with unparticle at LHC. The contributions of spin-0 and spin-2 unparticle to the di-photon production are studied in the invariant mass and other kinematical distributions, along with their dependencies on the model dependent parameters. The signal corresponding to the unparticle is significant for moderate coupling constant values.

Unparticle physics at hadron collider via dilepton production

The scale invariant unparticle physics recently proposed by Georgi could manifest at low energies as non integral number d_U of invisible particles. Unparticles if existing, could couple to the Standard Model fields and consequently affect the collider phenomenology. We consider the DY process to explore effects of the peculiar propagator of the scalar and tensor unparticle operators. To probe these effects at hadron collider one needs to go beyond LO in QCD and hence the quantitative impact of QCD corrections for unparticle physics at LHC is investigated. We present the K-factors at LHC. Inclusion of QCD corrections to NLO stabilises the cross section with respect to scale variations.

PDF and scale uncertainties of various DY distributions in ADD and RS models at hadron colliders

In the extra dimension models of ADD and RS we study the dependence of the various parton distribution functions on observable of Drell-Yan process to NLO in QCD at LHC and Tevatron energies. Uncertainties at LHC due to factorisation scales in going from leading to next-to-leading order in QCD for the various distributions get reduced by about 2.75 times for a $μ_F$ range $0.5 ~Q < μ_F < 1.5 ~Q$. Further uncertainties arising from the error on experimental data are estimated using the MRST parton distribution functions.

In TeV scale gravity models, for dilepton production at hadron colliders, we present the NLO-QCD corrections for the double differential cross section in the invariant mass and scattering angle. For both ADD and RS models, the quantitative impact of QCD corrections for extra dimension searches at LHC and Tevatron are investigated. We present the K-factors for both ADD and RS models at LHC and Tevatron. Inclusion of QCD corrections to NLO stabilises the cross section with respect to scale variations.

NLO-QCD Corrections to Dilepton Production in the Randall-Sundrum Model

The dilepton production process at hadron colliders in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model is studied at next-to-leading order in QCD. The NLO-QCD corrections have been computed for the virtual graviton exchange process in the RS model, in addition to the usual gamma, Z-mediated processes of standard Drell-Yan. K-factors for the cross-sections at the LHC and Tevatron for differential in the invariant mass, Q, and the rapidity, Y, of the lepton pair are presented. We find the K-factors are large over substantial regions of the phase space.

Next-to-Leading Order QCD Corrections to the Drell-Yan Cross Section in Models of TeV-Scale Gravity

The first results on next-to-leading order QCD corrections to graviton-induced processes in hadron collisions in models of TeV-scale gravity are presented focusing on the case of dilepton pair production in \bar p p and pp collisions. Distributions in the invariant mass Q, the longitudinal fraction x_F, the rapidity Y and the forward-backward asymmetry of the lepton pair are studied. The quantitative impact of the QCD corrections for searches of extra dimensions at hadron colliders is investigated. It turns out that at the LHC (\sqrt{S}=14 TeV) the K-factor is rather large (K=1.6) for large invariant mass Q of the lepton pair, indicating the importance of accounting for these QCD corrections in the experimental search for TeV-scale gravity. At the Tevatron, the K-factor does not substantially deviate from the Standard Model value. However, its inclusion is necessitated to make the cross-section stable with respect to scale variations.
