On the harmonic Möbius transformations

It is well-known that two locally univalent analytic functions $φ$ and $ψ$ have equal Schwarzian derivative if and only if there exists a non-constant Möbius transformation $T$ such that $φ=T\circ ψ$. In this paper, we identify completely the relationship between two locally univalent harmonic mappings with equal (harmonic) Schwarzian derivative.

On weighted compositions preserving the Carathéodory class

We characterize in various ways the weighted composition transformations which preserve the class ${\mathcal P}$ of normalized analytic functions in the disk with positive real part. We analyze the meaning of the criteria obtained for various special cases of symbols and identify the fixed points of such transformations.

Affine and linear invariant families of harmonic mappings

We study the order of affine and linear invariant families of planar harmonic mappings in the unit disk and determine the order of the family of mappings with bounded Schwarzian norm. The result shows that finding the order of the class $\mathcal{S}_H$ of univalent harmonic mappings can be formulated as a question about Schwarzian norm and, in particular, our result shows consistency between the conjectured order of $\mathcal{S}_H$ and the Schwarzian norm of the harmonic Koebe function.

Pre-Schwarzian and Schwarzian derivatives of harmonic mappings

In this paper we introduce a definition of the pre-Schwarzian and the Schwarzian derivatives of any locally univalent harmonic mapping $f$ in the complex plane without assuming any additional condition on the (second complex) dilatation $ω_f$ of $f$. Using the new definition for the Schwarzian derivative of harmonic mappings, we prove analogous theorems to those by Chuaqui, Duren, and Osgood. Also, we obtain a Becker-type criterion for the univalence of harmonic mappings.

Coupling between aging and convective motion in a colloidal glass of Laponite

We study thermal convection in a colloidal glass of Laponite in formation. Low concentration preparation are submitted to destabilizing vertical temperature gradient, and present a gradual transition from a turbulent convective state to a steady conductive state as their viscosity increases. The time spent under convection is found to depend strongly on sample concentration, decreasing exponentially with mass fraction of colloidal particles. Moreover, at fixed concentration, it also depends slightly on the pattern selected by the Rayleigh Bénard instability: more rolls maintain the convection state longer. This behavior can be interpreted with recent theoretical approaches of soft glassy material rheology.
